  1. As a part of an upcoming story rewrite patch a friend and I decided that one of the issues that needs to be fixed is the map. So he made a political map that a kind person from the 3dsFE hacking discord made into a patchable file. To instal, simply make a file in romfs named field and remove the -1 from the patch file's name. hope you all enjoy! 2. Was contemplating creating a character who has an ancestry of Dragon Laguz in their bloodline that managed to make their way into Fire Emblem Awakening's Realm such as Priam had. My question in this regard is... What would happen if a Laguz's descendant was descended purely from Laguz and Taguel ancestors? Would they still become a Branded or would they evolve to be more like the Taguel of today? Would something else happen entirely? We know the following in regards to Laguz interbreeding. Beorc+Beorc= Beorc Laguz+Laguz= Laguz Laguz+Beorc= Branded Taguel+Beorc= Taguel But what would Laguz+Taguel equal? Can't wait for some responses here as I'm genuinely curious :3 Laguz+Taguel= ???
  3. So, I got my fancy forum game set up that is built like an old Fire Emblem game. It's mostly similar to games in Elibe and Magvel. I'm looking to improve the design of it and make sure that it has well-balanced features. We're playing on Casual Mode, by the way. Now, in short, the mechanics of it are like the standard, but with several differences. The damage, hit, and crit formulas are the same. Movement stats and costs are multiplied by 4. Your standard class would have 20 Move, and plains would take 4 Move to traverse. Nothing to it. Classes are different. Every class can only wield a single weapon type, and most promoted classes are capable of equipping a second weapon type. They also have the skill system from the DS titles. The Staff class is capable of both healing and combat. Promotion is done with an item at Level 10, and gives the usual stat boosts and maybe a new weapon, as well as an extra skill. Also, the main classes(Merc, Archer, Warrior, Cavalier, Mage, Dark Mage, and Thief) have three different choices when it comes to promotion. They all have different weapons, skills, and movement. Weapons are mostly the same, but there's a few different ones. Swords, "Spears", Axes, and Bows haven't changed, but Staves and Magic are different. Oh, and there's Daggers. Staves are like in Heroes; they can heal or be used for a weak but accurate attack at a Range of 2. Magic weapons are called Gemstones, and they only have a Range of 2. Daggers have low might, but all of them have a critical bonus and a special effect. They can also be thrown, but this cuts their Might in half. Tomes exist, but are functionally the same as gemstones. Weapon Rank Bonuses are also a thing. Starting from Rank C, ranks will increase the statistics of an equipped weapon. Swords get Mt, Axes get Hit, and everything else gets a little bit of both. There's also the +5 Crit at S-Rank. Stats are the same, don't worry about that. Supports are the same; they're affinity based. They also give +2.5% Crit and Crit Evade per rank. By the way, here's a picture of one of my maps. Those were the mechanics for gameplay, now I'll go into what I do in Character Creation and Options. First, everyone gets a Personal Skill. These give characters a bit more uniqueness. A list of Personal Skills is nearby if anyone can't make one up. They are also able to change their bases and growths slightly, to give them a role. There's a limit on how much can be changed, so we don't get crazy stats. At the end of Character Creation, all players are given +5 HP and +3 Luck to help them survive. When it comes to deployment for a battle, usually only 6 people are able to join at one time, due to me not wanting to manage so many players at once. By the way, there's a capacity of 9 Players and 2 NPCs. Gameplay Options are preference-based things that affect the gameplay. I ask them to players while they're getting ready. The options include: 1. When rolling d100s, should Lower or Higher rolls be better? 2. Should there be a penalty for being defeated in battle? 3. Would you like a Lord(me) to join you? 4. Should potions heal more, or last longer? 5. Would you like the HP cap to be increased from 60 to 80? 6. Should all Promotion items be replaced with Master Seals? Gaiden Chapters, or Paralogues exist. There is no hidden condition needed to unlock them; they're just automatically presented to the players. Should the option for a Lord to join the party be picked, they will never be present during a Gaiden Chapter, as they aren't related to the main story at all. There's no Rescue option. There just isn't. Now aside from you all giving possible feedback to my system, there's a couple of questions I would like answered: 1) Magic has 2 Range, but my brother says it should be 1-2. I believe that it should be locked to 2 because of how hard it hits but now i'm unsure... what should I do? 2) How do I come up with the passive abilities for S-Rank weapons? They've got like, +5 in a stat, but i'm not sure what to give each weapon. 3) The main lord has 9 Con and wields a "Heavy Rapier", which functions like a standard Rapier. The Might of it is currently 8. Is that alright?
  4. Has anybody seen the two episode fire emblem anime/OVA? well my question is if they were to make a sequel of sorts, which game would be best suited to a television/film interpretation, I think a "radiant" movie would be cool, that game has real cinematic edge, and a pretty strong plot, while awakening would make a better television series as it feels more episodically written, Fire Emblem 7 is so dramatic it reminds me of a Wagnerian opera (Is that a word?) I've also heard people compare the dark and complex plot of Geneology to that of game of thrones, though that one might have to come in at least two separate parts with possibly a third for thracia 776, i dunno anyone have thoughts on this?
  5. SPOILERS LAY AHEAD! (Used to explain idea process) Hey there everyone, so to sum things up I'm a little new to Fire Emblem. I've played some of the games in the past and have just started getting into the lore but I enjoy the role playing aspect as well. My specific question is based on looking into the creation of an OC who is descended from a Laguz line of dragons or a Wolf Laguz. I wasn't sure how to go about this and was wondering if it could fit into the timeline of Awakening or if I should base my OC on something else. I kind of wanted the OC to be a descendant of Rajaion and/or Ena's line since they were the only canon Laguz dragons to have an Unnamed Child which could lead to a Descendant but the likelihood of any of them surviving to Awakening's point is slim to none (As shown with Panne's supports and the persecution of Taguel) at the same time the Dragon Laguz bear enough resemblance to humans/Beorc to pass as one in a human/Beorc form so I believe there could be a slim, if somewhat far fetch'd, possibility of this working out. Priam was another source I looked at since he is a descendant from Ike, a character from Rajaion and Ena's time, as well. This isn't really based on game play mechanics (As I don't believe Robin can class into a Taguel or Manakeet form) but rather on the idea of creating a fun OC to play as in Fire Emblem Awakening Role Plays. I'm willing to make a different character of course which is more human/Beorc based but I enjoyed poking at this idea and was wondering what you guys thought :3 Would it work out? Why or why not? How would I manage such a character to fit into Awakening's story and lore without making it a Mary Sue or Gary Sue? Other questions I worried about was whether or not Laguz could be considered as the ancestor of Taguel and if the character should be a Taguel instead. Manakeets and Dragon Laguz aren't related as far as I know so I didn't see that idea working out to well. But again, I'm open to all sorts of ideas and or interpretations of this :3
  6. Hey so I'm creating a new Fire Emblem game by using the SRPG studio, I know this is probably the wrong topic feed or whatever, but I've currently finished most of the first chapter, and about 25% of the maps. If anyone is further intrested or can offer advice I'd really appricate it. You can get in contact through - Discord - ethanb2309#5114 Or just message me on here directly.
  7. Hey, I'm making a ROM hack of FE6 and I was wondering how to edit the title screen where it says "Fire Emblem the Binding Blade"? If anyone knows how to edit the "Nintendo presents" part too that'd be helpful as well.
  8. So using a website called Brantsteele.net/hungergames , which is an online Hunger Games Simulator, I was able to create a Fire emblem-themed Hunger Games. Yeah. It's amazing. I will post my results here. feel free to make and show your own hunger games. This is gonna be great. A link to the characters + a chance for you to try it out with the same characters without having to set it up: http://brantsteele.net/hungergames/reaping.php For those who don't like clicking random links, I'll post the units here too :) Marth, Caeda, Corrin (M), Azura, Chrom, Lucina, Lyn, Eliwood, Alfonse, Sharena, Roy, Lilina, Eirika, Ephraim, Seliph, Julia, Ike, Elincia, Alm, Celica, Hector, Minerva, Anna, Ryoma Now, let's begin! The Bloodbath
  9. Hello there, I've began a playthrough of Blazing Sword, my goal is to achieve a S ranking for this run, doing so, while making sure to play the game as effectively as I possibly can, meaning that efficiency won't be the main priority in this run. If I can finish the game with only a couple turns to spare, that is my ideal goal. I have made my calculations and assuming things go smoothly, then I should be able to do this run under the 299 turns that I predicted to be my turn limit based on those calculations I've made: Chapter 11: (7 turns) Chapter 12: 8 turns = 8-7 = 1 Chapter 13: 12 turns = 1+ 12 = 13 Chapter 13x: 8 turns = 13 + 8 = 21 Chapter 14: 10 turns = 21 + 10 = 31 Chapter 15: (8 turns) 31 – 8 = 23 Chapter 16: 7 turns 23 + 7 = 30 Chapter 17: 18 turns 30 +18 = 48 Chapter 17x: 10 turns 48 + 10 = 58 Chapter 18: 11 turns 58 + 11 = 69 Chapter 19: 10 turns 69 + 10 = 79 Chapter 19x: 10 turns 79 + 10 = 89 Chapter 19xx: (7 turns) 89 – 7 = 82 Chapter 20: 16 turns 82 + 16 = 98 Chapter 21: 9 turns 98 + 9= 107 Chapter 22: 11 turns 107 + 11 = 118 Chapter 23: 9 turns 118 + 9 = 127 Chapter 23x: 25 turns 127 + 25 = 152 Chapter 24 Linus: 22 turns 152 + 22 = 174 Chapter 25: (8 turns) 174 – 8 = 166 Chapter 26: 12 turns 166 + 12 = 178 Chapter 27: 25 turns 178 + 25 = 203 Chapter 28: 16 turns 203 + 16 = 219 Chapter 28x: 28 turns 219 + 28 = 247 Chapter 29: 20 turns 247 + 20 = 267 Chapter 30: (8 turns) 267 – 8 = 259 Chapter 31: 12 turns 259 + 12 = 271 Chapter 31x: 6 turns 271 + 6 = 277 Chapter 32: 15 turns 277 + 15 = 292 Chapter 32x: (3 turns) 292 – 3 = 289 Chapter Final: 10 turns 289 + 10 = 299 In parenthesis assumes a minimum count number for the 0 turn chapters based on what might be possible for me to do. With this, I have a solid idea on which chapters I should rush and which I shouldn't bother and just aim for a close number. Thus allowing me to achieve a run that isn't more efficient than it needs to be for the rank. I hope with this playthrough to teach people how to get an S rank whitout caring much for LTC. Anyway to get rid of the black background? I pasted this from discord, and it seems it copied the color as well.
  10. Post ideas of villains you have. I made a similar topic in march but due to low activity and me generally running out of ideas to keep it going it kinda died (or not I don't know what the deadline for dead forums is). So let me make this thread so we can share our ideas. So here are some of my ideas: Name: Katsuo Class: Rogue Level: 17 HP: 40 ATK: 23 DEF: 17 SPD: 29 SKL: 26 RES: 15 LCK: 27 Bio: Katsuo, also called by "Alpha" and "Rogue King", is the leader of the Wolf Pack. He is the most successful and infamous rogue of his generation. Ruthless and devilishly handsome Katsuo is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Game Prescence: Katsuo is one of the three major antagonists of the first 11 chapters, not counting the prologues or possible paralogues, as he is fought in chapter 9. He is also one of your unit's archenemy as he killed and played with their mother when that unit was young. He and the other major antagonist of the first 11 chapters are also in numerous cutscences and often talked about in houses/villages you visit. Context before you face him: Well the final three chapters of the "first arc" is where the neighboring country makes a surprise attack on your home country's capitals. So Katsuo is outside the castle guarding the reinforcements, you, from joining in the battle. So there are two goals, defeat the boss and arrive. You are allowed to bring your lord and the unit who hates Katsuo plus 11 other units. Inventory: He has a Silver bow and a silver sword. He also has a droppable bullion (XL). Skills: Locktouch: Opens any lock without need of a key. Lucky 7: +20 Hit/Avoid for the first seven turns. Now you can post away!
  11. Honestly, I believe the old/new divide is New Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow (a game I've never played bc it's hard to emulate). Anything before is rooted in the old formula (the one I prefer). There's a Kaga/Anime subdivide in there, but I won't get into that. It has weapon durability, deep stories filled with war, politics, evil gods, etc., no waifus (Genealogy does have marriage, but there's no self-insert of yourself, so no waifus), and no phoenix mode (I know casual mode exists. I'm fine with it). Sorry to sound elitist, but it's all the really good stuff. The new stuff is anything after, and its differences pander to the casuals. That's not a bad thing. I honestly like how there's a huge aspect on reclassing and customization. I (though I don't use it) think casual mode is a good crutch if you're scared of losing units and don't want to reset every time a unit dies. It's stories are meh (Awakening's is rushed, Fates' is bad, and Echoes is a remake, but Berkut and Fernand are new, so they make the original parts of the story great). Weapon durability was dropped in this era, and was handled well. The avatar gained priority over time (much to my dismay), and waifus (or husbandos) and children units went from a good idea to a unnecessary one. This era was more... experimental. New Mystery splices these two eras. It has a story and gameplay rooted in the old formula, and an avatar and casual mode from the new. That is what I say is the old/new divide.
  12. What the title states. What if we could put armour in our unit's inventory and have them give bonus in stats, skills, or status effects. I feel this would really work well with Three Houses and what looks like a pretty big inventory with 7 spaces. Armoured classes can have basic armour with different types (I.e. Iron, Steel, Silver) and there being special armour that give +5 DEF and maybe skills like Pavise. Would that work well?
  13. The Souls of Anarchy: Spurning Staff 27 main chapters A strange main continent, with paralogues leaking to other worlds A myriad of skills: originating from Ylisse, Zenith, and the world of Fates Non-canon FE skills that includes personal skills for each playable character 35+ characters that will soon join the squad - a good amount with tragic backstories A dramatic story with comedic gag elements Some draconic and beast classes with corresponding elements Weapons from the entire FE series, plus a batch of outliers and unique items Battles takes cue from Sacred Stones, Radiant Dawn, and Awakening This fangame acts as a spiritual successor to the roleplay Fire Emblem: Realms of the Cosmic Mirror, currently on a indefinite hiatus, and borrows many of the same concepts and mechanics. It runs on riskrain’s Lex Talionis engine, which was written in Python. The fangame implies you have tackled strategy RPGs at a deep level before and may not be for the faint of heart. While the base game aims to be as difficult as the Jugdral duology, Casual Mode will still be kept just in case. If you’re familiar with my previous roleplay, I might be contacting former players for help on this project. Don’t expect a sequel, because this is pretty tough work. If it is, the sequel may use FEXNA as its base. Discord link for further info and discussion: https://discord.gg/V8WDthQ Progress: Not really begun on yet (or have extra help), so please wait for a first release! Once I gather resources and more development help, I'll keep updated with pictures as soon as possible!
  14. I am currently having trouble with installing the english translation for fire emblem if, I have all the necessary items for it, however when I start the process it stops working immediately, and yes I have Custom firmware. thank you and all help will be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hey, Im not entirely sure if this is the right place for it, but it seems to be the most fitting. I personally am working on a fangame and wanted to know if there is a place where I can find the sound effects of Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (Radiant Dawn would be okay too.) Things like menu move and select and such. I searched a lot for it and strangely couldnt find anything at all, just the general soundtrack. Maybe someone here can help me out. Thanks!
  16. Anyone remember the old Fire Emblem bootleg? Well I decided to go and make a translation patch for it. This patch is only a menu patch and does not translate the story. In case of issues, please post in the thread... and don't forget to read the readme. It probably mentions the untranslated item you've spotted. The rom is called Super SLG (Unl) [C].gbc, so it mightn't work if it's called something different for you. Don't rule things out though. And before anyone asks, no. I won't link the rom. Bootleg roms are still roms. Now go and watch Leaf and friends have a rather strange journey. Here's some (Chinese) gameplay for those who don't know what this is. EDIT: https://www.dropbox.com/s/otbmtda9msdf2n4/Bootleg Emblem Translation.zip?dl=0 I am an idiot.
  17. Is anyone excited to be able to bang our students? Sounds like something straight out of a harem anime. Fire Emblem meets High School DxD. Also, where will the children come from? The future? Deeprealms? Adoption? Timeskip? Divine intervention?
  18. I’m thinking about replaying Birthright on Lunatic mode. My class will be samurai, and I’m considering S supporting either Takumi or Kaze this run. My bane will be magic, but I don’t know whether to choose my boon as +STR or +SPD. I was considering a +SKL boon as well for proc crit esteem, but I’m more so focused on a physically offensive unit this round (though I know Midori benefits from a luck and strength growth and Kiragi benefits from speed in my favor). Which boon (strength or speed) would be more optimal in my case?
  19. OK, so as you may have noticed already, I'm in desperate need to expand my horizon when it comes to this franchise. I've been exposed to the GBA titles (all of them) too much, and have little to no experience or exposure with essentially all the other FE titles (other than Heroes). All I would like to know is where I should go next in the series, and how to handle those titles. For those who are looking to recommend me specific titles, I implore you to elaborate by informing me of some ways I can be playing the game in an efficient and smart way. I'd really like to appreciate this series for its entirety, and not just be a purist for a select few titles.
  20. I was considering running either a Dark mage, master ninja, mechanist, paladin, archer, cavalier, dread fighter or one of the knight(?) classes. I really have no idea; first file was a priestess with magic boon and luck or skill bane, it was decent as a support. For ref; female Corrin here!
  21. Hey, I know I've been absent from the Fire Emblem community for a few years now. I've always held Fire Emblem dearly in my heart, but was going through a tough time in my personal life, so I had to get that sorted out. Now that I have (hopefully for good), I am now focused on my goal, my dream, which is to make a living as a Twitch streamer / content creator. So one of my ideas was to have a Fire Emblem Friday stream as a weekly routine. That's where you guys come in. What would you like to see in an 8 hour long weekly Fire Emblem stream? And what time slot is best? I was thinking noon to 8pm EST. It's great to be back :)
  22. Hello everyone. I'm starting my new project, Purging Flame, a reimagined balance patch for Blazing Sword. The goal of this project is to create a FE7 that is balanced in a different way than the original. Siince the original was already somewhat balanced to begin with. Objectives: - Increase difficulty of Lyn mode - Fix supports growth rates - Make a few units actually worth using (Dorcas, Barte, Karla... etc...) - Make enemies more quality based in difficulty, rather than quantity based. - buff some units so they can deal with those changes. Here are some videos that I already posted:
  23. https://youtu.be/p4J8TkibEp0 Hey there! It's been a while but I am back with a new video and new mic and all sort of crap to improve with! Please do not hold back on any criticisms!
  24. As the title says, i will post here how my walktroughts are going. I dont know if im doing well or im the worst xD.
