  1. At this point in time, I'm finishing up my Randomized Fire Emblem 6 LP. I'm also done with the Illa route and then I'll be in Bern. I've decided that since I'm almost done with my LP, I might as well live stream the ending. I'll be live streaming my playthrough of what's left this Friday at 5:30 P.M. EST with a co-commentator or 2. I hope to see you there!
  2. I'm trying to give weapons various stat bonuses, including negative ones, the only problem is that instead of displaying say a -1, the game displays a +9, but the bonus is a -1. This clearly seems to be a problem with the graphics display in the game. So does anyone know how I can change this so the game displays negative stat bonuses?
  3. I've been interested in FE4 for a long time. I've always wanted to do a LP on it, but with the mechanics introduced into the game, I feel I would need some guidance. Due to this, I feel I would play FE4, but with the new ROM Hack version of it and bring a Co-Commentator on for the journey. To be a Co-Commentator for this LP though, I need someone who has a decent understanding of the story, gameplay mechanics, and the characters as well. Once I've found a Co-Commentator for this, I'll begin the LP of it. I'll be waiting!
  4. Hi guys, I'm new to the Forums here, but I've been perusing the website for a few years now. I decided I wanted to sign up and show off some custom sprite work I've done (lots of splicing with some re-drawing), to see what you guys think. Any feedback is appreciated. I'll list off character classes with each image I post.   5. So, while making the icons for my FE7 hack, I got really frustrated by the lack of reds and generally, the awkward palette. So I'm asking, can I change it to something easier to use? Something like this: Also, leave comments on how I can make the palette better!
  6. Hello! I, like many others, have found that owning a physical copy of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has become impossible without first shelling out hundreds of dollars. Plus, who has time to plugin their Gamecube, sit down, and play a game anymore? Therefore, as my skills in Fire Emblem hacking are few, I am proposing a group project to remake PoR in a pixelated, more portable format. This game will be called Fire Emblem: Portable Radiance (or Path of Radiance, we can vote on this later) It will be based off of the FE7 Rom and will be as close to the original as humanly possible. Some features will have to be cut because either they are bad gameplay elements or they are not possible on the Gameboy Advanced hardware. These will include: Biorhythms Laguz Gauges (will be replaced by claws, beak, etc. that function like infinite dragonstones, but with certain drawbacks) Skills (unless someone can implement class-specific skills like Sol, Aether, Impale, etc.) Bonus Exp. (unless someone can implement it easily) Trial Maps (DLC???? ) Support Bonuses Automatic Class-Ups (unless able to be implemented, each character could come with a class-up item that only worked at level 20) In-battle Recruitment (as far as I know this is not possible, except for villages) The Ranger class (seriously, Intelligent Systems?) This list is not final. Many things will be added to or removed from the list during development. Now onto the positive stuff. The development team!! YAYYYYY!!! I will act as the group/project manager and will be in charge of organization, updates and what the project should be like. Here is the list of open positions that need to be filled and their requirements: Assistant Manager - Aids manager and handles problems with staff, file management, etc. Must be readily available to answer questions from staff. Sprites:Pixel Artist - Chief of Sprite staff. Someone who has past experience in FE pixel art creation. Must be able to adapt portraits, overworld sprites, in-battle sprites, and item icons from source material into the project. Battle Animator - Similar to pixel artist, but for the characters' movements in battle. If able, can be combined with pixel artist. Background and Tile Set Editor - Must be able to edit backgrounds and tile sets (terrain) to resemble source material. Coding: (must be able to use Nightmare and other coding programs)Chief Coder - Codes main game play elements, such as text and events, directly from the source material. Also manages other coders. Must have experience hacking GBA Fire Emblem titles Character Coder - Codes all of the character info, stats, classes, etc. from source material. Map Editor - Edits in-game levels to match the source material. Also edits movement costs. Tutorial Get-ridder - Gets rid of the tutorial. Weapon Coder - Edits weapons to match source material. Menu Editor - Edits menus and such to match source material Miscellaneous:Compiler - Hardest job. Must compile all the data to make one coherent game. Must produce a demo with one level and all features and then produce the full game. Bug Tester - Make sure all features work as they are supposed to. Beta Tester - Much like the bug tester, makes sure every version of the patch is fully playable before release. Many of these jobs can be take by one person if they have the necessary skill sets, so don't me scared off by the big staff. All members who work on or contribute to the remake project will have the name they prefer in the game's credits. Alright!   7. So I've been trying to add map sprites to my hack, and for some reason it's not working. I'm following this tutorial step-by-step and here's what's going on. 1. Export map sprite from FE8 (let's say I want to use Eirika Lord in place of Lyn Lord) 2. Import map sprite into an FE7 ROM (I'm using the offset 8D00000 in this case; I'm not using that for anything ATM, so I'm trying it there first) 3. Repoint the map sprite in Nightmare At this point when I try to test the map sprite, the game ends play and takes me back to the title screen. I'm kinda stumped as to what's going on, anyone have an idea?
  8. So I'm doing a rather minor hack at the moment. I've hacked my game to where Falcoknights can use lances and staves a la Awakening. So far, there don't seem to be any issues, but I kinda run into one where after, say, Fiora heals someone with a staff, the next time she attacks with an Iron Lance she just raises her hand as if throwing a javelin and the animation stops there. The enemy still gets destroyed, but the animation doesn't display correctly. Any tips or things I could do to fix this?
  9. The first Shining Force is one of my favorite games ever, so it's kind of a surprise that I didn't play this remake until very recently (like, a day or two ago). But it really did seem perfect for drafting, and I personally really want to do something like this myself, so...here you find me, making this draft. With some rules, no less! EDIT THE DIFFICULTY IS DEFAULT (NORMAL) AKA WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU START A NEW GAME ON A NEW CARTRIDGE (SO NO CHAPTER 1 BANNED MAWLOCK) 1. This draft is for 4 players, who will each draft 7 units in standard snake style format (no last round reverse going on here). 2. Since they can be undeployed immediately, unless there are any exceptions of units forced into a chapter (besides Max, Narsha, Zuika, and Mawlock), there is a 4 turn penalty for each undrafted unit who is deployed, per battle. 3. Max (main character), Lowe (healing chump), Hans (backup combat chump), & Narsha (to make her gaidens worth it for everyone, also requisite non chump/MC) are free. 4. Mawlock is banned, except for the epilogue chapters. Sorry, he's just too much of a game-changer, and I'd prefer not to have him for this draft. 4. You may use Egress to grind during battles, however turns taken in this period will still be added to your total turncount....So kind of a bit counterproductive. 5. On a similar note, if Max dies (and you opt not to reset), the turns will still be added...so yeah, save a lot? 6. However, you may Egress/retreat as long as no Attacks have been made for that battle (for either side) with no penalty...if you actually clear a map while doing this, 20 turn penalty, JERK! 7. The epilogue chapters will be free for up to 20 turns. 8. If there's anything about the rules that needs fixing, feel free to drop a comment on the thread, even if you're not in the draft. Teams 1. Refa- Luke, Zylo, Gong, Arthur, Pelle, Bleu, Jogurt 2. Ice Sage- Gort, Hanzou, Mae, Anri, Zuika, Alef, Lyle 3. BBM- Earnest, Domingo, Kokichi, Amon, Khris, Musashi, Adam 4.   10. So, I wanted to play a couple of the older FE games (specifically Genealogy and Binding blade) but the I can't find a working emulator in my phone. Now the thing is, I don't own a computer or laptop so I'm forced to rely on emulators such as GBA4IOS and SNES4IOS and provenance and so on. But recently a lot of them haven't been working GBA4ios and provenance have both been revoked and the SNES and DS emulators keep crashing. I just wanted to ask is there an alternative to the GBA emulator can I stop the SNES and DS emulators from crashing?

  12. Hey guys recently I have discovered this adorable game series called Densetsu no Stafy I have Currently played Densetsu no Stafy 1 and Densetsu no Stafy 3 and working on 2. Of course the game series is Japan only except for the 5th game Legendary Starfy. But yeah I played almost all the GBA entries and I am blown away at them they are so unique and just as cute or cuter than Kirby. but I have never seen such a blend of Marine action and platform mixed in one game and it works well. So my question is has anyone else here heard of the game or is a fan of the series? As I noticed via youtube searches and web searches that this amazing game series does not have the attention it should have or a proper fan base there is very little stuff on it around. The series was quite a hit in Japan and the first USA release did amazing so yeah are there any fellow fans of the series possibly lurking around here on SF? and if you played the series which have you played? I have all 3 GBA entries but missing the DS ones. Heh I know the series did not completely die or become forgotten maybe there is some more fans scattered about that has had a chance to experience these titles.
  13. I've been playing through the GBA games, and something occurred to me that makes me curious: How do those promoted non-boss enemies get the stats they do? [spoiler=Examples] The base stats listed for the promoted classes don't really match for the levels shown (too much HP, for one), and as the second image shows, promotion gains aren't a factor either. So perhaps they gain a different amount of levels compared to their non-promoted counterparts. If that is indeed the case, does anyone know how many levels that is, exactly? Do they "promote" at Lv. 10 or the next-closest opportunity and grow from there? This isn't really crucial or anything. I'm just wondering if anyone on here knows of the inner workings on this.
  14. FIRE EMBLEM Twilight Kingdom Hello everyone, I want to show you a new project idea. I think it's good and you will like it. (Sorry for any grammatical or ortographical mistake, English is not my native language). Story Thousands of years ago, in our world coexisted two races: humans and naari. Naari used an extrange fighting art named magic. Therefore started a great war named the Magic War. Humans won, so they banished the naari to another world. 2300 years later, the Kingdom of Renoll, until then small and poor, suffered a civil war and the rebel leader, Txaz, was named Emperor. He started to conquest countries, successfully. The Kingdom of Imyd, in the northwest, supported him, like the Kingdom of Lalsen, in the east, did. Imyd supported Renoll until the King Dansen of Imyd died in strange circumstances in his camp. The prince Leiss, seeking revenge, broke the pact with Renoll and founded the Alliance (alongside the Kingdoms of Amuld and Nird and the Republic of the Twin Rivers) against Renoll and Lalsen. Four years later... The game will tell the story of Armyn, an apprentice knight, with the objective of return peace to the world. And also he will have to fight against the secret weapon of Renoll's Emperor, warriors enhaced with naari power, while he discovers the truth about his past. What do you think? Will it be an interesting game? (Leave a comment, please) Sadly, if I want to do it I will probably need some help, especially with sprites and maps, they are not my strong point.
