  1. Now that there has been a successful (somewhat LTCish?) playthrough of the maddening draft, let's try a Hard mode one with our favorite angry boi Dimitri The ruleset is inspired by the SS maddening draft, but adapted for Hard. In particular, Stride is banned this time and grinding is handled more restrictively. Drafting: This draft is for 4 players. Byleth and Dimitri are free for all players. The game will be played on the Azure Moon route, Hard/Classic, New Game. The last unit to remain undrafted is free for all players. Rules: Undrafted units may not be deployed or used as adjutants. Undrafted units may be recruited from other houses. Interactions with them via monastery features (e.g. tea time, instruct, support conversations) are allowed. All non-DLC monastery features may be used freely. DLC-exclusive features are banned. This includes characters, classes, monastery features, auxiliary battles etc.. Drafted units from other houses may be used for Mission Assistance. Paralogues are free up to 10 turns. One auxiliary/quest battle per month is free up to 10 turns. Doing more than one is allowed, though. Warp and Stride are banned. Attacking the Death Knight in chapter 6 at 4-range or more is banned. Exceptions: Everyone is free in Prologue. Undrafted units are limitedly usable in Chapter 13. They may do anything except: enter combat with a weapon equipped and use gambits, combat arts or spells. Undrafted units are free in Paralogues where they are force-deployed. Penalties: Violations of these rules have a penalty of 10 turns, per unit per chapter. Violations of the warp/stride rule and the C6 death knight rule have a penalty of 99 turns per chapter instead. If you aren't playing for turncounts, just don't break any rules. Players: Terrador: Dedue, Catherine, Shamir, Dorothea, Hilda, Ignatz, Cyril + Manuela Carmine Sword: Felix, Ingrid, Leonie, Seteth, Marianne, Lorenz, Alois + Manuela - 72 turns Moblin Major General: Sylvain, Mercedes, Caspar, Lysithea, Ferdinand, Raphael, Hanneman + Manuela Gradivus.: Ashe, Annette, Bernadetta, Flayn, Petra, Gilbert, Linhardt + Manuela - 74 turns Units remaining:
  2. So it's been a while since I've played Radiant Dawn Hard mode and seeing the thread about the rate the units kind of gave me the urge to play it so anyone want to join me in these masochistic adventures? Rules: Note: I'm fully open to suggestions on these rules so feel free to make any if you have them, I've bolded the stuff I've changed. Drafting:1. This draft is for 6 players.2. Micaiah, Laura, Sothe, JIll, Rafiel, The Black Knight, Leanne, Geoffrey, Ike, Titania, Reyson and Lehran are free for all to use.3. The drafting order is NOT reversed for the last round of picks.4. Haar is banned from drafting.5. The game will be played on Hard Mode.Rules:1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, Rescue and Shove/Smite undrafted characters and NPCs, trade, Escape/Arrive, and transfer items/skills between teams.2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, opening Doors and Chests, finding hidden items, and giving Blood Tide/Night Tide/White Pool bonuses. I'm thinking about changing it so undrafted units can find Items seeing as that's how it is in all the other games but I understand that RD has items in almost every level unlike other games where it's usually one map so see what people think.3. Allied and Other units may do as they please without penalty.4. Defend chapters count the last played Player Phase for turns if the timer is waited out.Penalties:1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter (1-6 counts as 2 chapters, and 4-E counts as 5 chapters).Exceptions:1. One of Edward or Nolan is free for each of 1-P, 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3.2. Volug is free for 1-5.3. Elincia, Marcia and Nealuchi are free for 2-P4. Nephenee and Brom are free for 2-1.5. One undrafted, non-Lucia unit is free for 2-2.6. One undrafted, 7 move unit is free for 3-1.7. One undrafted, 6 move unit is free for 3-3. Explanations for Rule changes: 6 players because firstly 7 is hard to get and it results in 60 draftable units so everyone gets an extra scrub to help with Shoving or something. Free Jill and Titania, these units are clearly superior to any other choice I think and especially having Titania be a draftable unit would be way too good for whoever gets her, less so for Jill as she starts off weaker but still clearly a dominant unit. However I think that making Titania free permanently would lead to everyone having every Part three map basically just be Titania W+M1'd the enemy with Hand Axes while scrubs just milled about. Therefore the idea I thought of was to give her a quota of deployment slots and you can choose which maps to deploy her on, she has 13 maps before end game so I think 7 should be a good number. Jill has 8/11 maps depending on whether you recruit her over to the GM's so I'm thinking 7 maps for her would seem about right seeing as she has to actually get going first unlike Titania. Could possibly make Jill permanently free as well if everyone feels the DB need the help. Finally free Laura is just to make it so that the number of draftable units is divisible by 6 and she seemed like the most obvious choice as a free unit to me. Edward or Nolan free for 1-3 as well seems like a pretty obvious choice as that map is pretty notorious on Hard Mode I think so having them until you get to the Base seems fair. Units remaining: Teams: Zihark72: Ilyana, Mia, Aran, Naesala, Astrid, Lethe, Rhys, Volke, Stefan, Oliver. Shimmerfang: Nolan, Gatrie, Callil, Mist, Giffca, Makalov, Rolf, Bastian, Kurthnaga, Pelleas. DarthR0xas: Nephenee, Boyd, Zihark, Tibarn, Kieran, Tormod, Caineghis, Muarim, Gareth, Renning. Joe Cool: Elincia, Shinon, Nailah, Janaff, Ranulf, Leonardo, Meg, Danved, Ena, Fiona. Junkhead: Edward, Volug, Marcia, Heather, Ulki, Sigrun, Tauroneo, Skrimir, Vika, Nasir. Sturm: Oscar, Soren, Tanith, Brom, Nealuchi, Sanaki, Mordecai, Lucia, Kyza, Lyre.
  3. So I started a hard mode ironman of bindingblade I've never played binding blade or any or the other gba games for the that matter and I feel like somehow I'm doing something wrong. It's only chapter 5 and a managed to get my two cavs killed dieck wade and clarine. It seems like all my units hit like wet noodles and get two or three shot not to mention unless they are using magic or swords against axe users the miss a ton. So are there any tips? Cause I feel like it shouldn't be this hard.
  4. I couldn't clear one of the Zofia Seaway maps in chapter 1 so I just resorted to grinding. I wouldn't say I ruined the game for myself because the game was still difficult even after grinding on Alm's route as well.
  5. Well, I've been on SF for a little while now and have followed some other folks' LPs. So at the suggestion of some other kind users on here, here's one of my own: an Ike solo of FE9 hard mode! Path of Radiance is one of my favorite FE games and one of the easier ones to solo, since Ike is pretty solid (although not the greatest if he gets RNG-screwed), so I hope this goes well! I'm going for as much of a pure solo as possible, but since that's not possible in some chapters due to forced deployment, here's the rules/things to expect from how I play: 1. Meatshields that I send into battle are forbidden, but if the enemies attack the unarmed units on their own, that's fine. 2. Trading items to Ike from recruited units is fine. 3. Recruiting units for the sake of getting their items is fine. 4. I will be using the unarmed units to get items from houses you can visit for some chapters, but I will usually just buy the items I need from the armory and shop. 5. I might redo some chapters in case an essential item is missed, like a Seraph Robe or something similar (as is the case with chapter 1, lol), or to get Ike some better level ups. I want to be able to finish this LP so any help I can get is absolutely necessary. 6. The Black Knight fight is something I'd like to do, but depending on Ike's stats, will be a "want-to" rather than a "will do." 7. I'll be doing updates once or twice a week, ideally, but I may change that from time to time. Hopefully you all enjoy it! Prologue and Chapter 1:
  6. I started to play Fire Emblem Awakening these days and that's my second fire emblem game (I've played Radiant Dawn before). After 8 hours playing normal mode I got the feeling that normal mode is so easy and maybe griding in early lvls wasn't a good idea. However, I'm in doubt about hard mode. First, I'd like to complete support system, making couples, unlock lvls and that stuff, but I can do it in hard mode w/o problems? Or Hard mode is such battle oriented game style? Can you guys help me? I need some insights. I'm casual player btw and I used to play normal mode in Radiant what most of people rate as ''hard''.
  7. This is my attempt to do an S rank run with minimal rigging and save state abuse, I mainly use savestates as a last resort if I die a lot and need to save time, right now I only did it on 11 A and I hope that I never do it again. I used a couple of lp's to know what I must do, First one is darkbladeseth's fe 6 hard mode S rank run just to know what I need to do and what I could get away with. Dondon 151's FE 6 S rank run co commentated by Mekkkah, I checked a couple of posts based on S ranking this run in this forum, one is by toothache on tightening S rank run and the other is Grandjackal, mainly for chapter 7, I was tempted to read GreatEclipse's post further but I wanted to get my own strategies, Expect me to play as bad as Mangs or as good as Mekkah, dondon151 or Rengor, regardless my aim is to have a reliable guide for S rank run if I succeed or if I fail atleast it's a test of my skill. This is obviously not going to be perfect as either of these runs and I will kinda read the story a lot and keep the animations on to keep track of what's actually going on and also it could lead to funny moments on occasion, so my videos can be fairly long, but anyway the aim of this topic is to promote my run and hopefully some discussion about S ranking the game if this attracts enough attention. Stuff I used for reference Dondon 151's FE 6 Hard mode ltc run: DarkbladeSeth's hard mode S rank run: Toothache's post on tightening S rank run: FE 6 S rank run by GreatEclipse: If you want to know the requirements for S ranking the game, you can check this link: https://serenesforest.net/binding-blade/miscellaneous/rankings/
  8. Right now, I'm playing through Path of Radiance on hard mode. I've always wanted to beat this game, but never gotten past chapter 9, so I'm starting the game on hard mode with 2 goals in mind. 1. Get better at Fire Emblem in general 2. Learn how to record Gamecube games that are good enough to watch. So here is chapter 1, what I'm looking for is criticism on my play style and if you think you can do better at co-commentary than this guy, hop in the Discord and prove it. https://youtu.be/b9VsCKMfgLw Discord: https://discord.gg/rRPsGxZ
  9. Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to this forum business so I figured a fun way for me to interact with the community would be to do a draft. I've played through a decent amount of titles on their hardest US difficulty (FE7, 8, 9, 10, 13, and all three Fates), but never tried an LTC type run. I hope by having other people participate in this challenge with me it'll be much more fun. So in short, I hope to have fun doing a draft with the community :). Also when it comes to any specifics, please feel free to correct me. Any help regarding the draft is great. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. Eirika/Ephraim, Orson, Tethys, and Myrrh are free for all to use. 3. Seth is banned from all use. 4. The game will be played on Hard Mode. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories and dig up items in the desert.2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests.3. Map shopping is allowed.4. Skirmishes/use of the Tower or Ruins is disallowed. Skirmishes that are blocking your path may be activated and immediately fled from.5. Defend chapters count the last played Player Phase for turns if the timer is waited out.6. Amelia and Ewan may be brought to 10/1 and 10/5 respectively in Tower. All items gained from this must be tossed.7: burning an rn to complete the prologue in 2 turns is something we'll all end up doing anyways. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 2. Seth has a special 8 turn penalty per chapter. Teams: Units Remaining
  10. I was planning to run through the series on the most difficult modes, but after some thought I realized that I just won't enjoy playing many of them. FE9 Maniac Mode is an absolute slog through far too many enemies and little challenge, FE11 H5 is too difficult and limiting for me to enjoy casually, FE12 Lunatic(+/R) is more of the difficulty in FE11, FE13 Lunatic(+) is again too limiting for me to enjoy casually, & FE14 CQ Lunatic is again crushingly difficult for casual play. Which hard modes do you like, which do you dislike, and why do you like/dislike them?
  11. I'm just curious as to how much the enemy growth rate is increased in hard mode.
  12. I decided to play fe6, after having no previous knowledge of how to even play Fire Emblem. I finished the game with savestates once, then without savestates, then, I played fe7 on Eliwood normal mod, then Eliwood hard mode. Afterwards, I decided to play fe6 hard mode, I beat the first chapter while having a few problems, having to restart a couple of times, then, I got to chapter 4, having a ton of trouble with chapters 2 and 3, then, I couldn't beat it. I couldn't beat chapter 4. I even used the silver lance with Marcus, I got Lance and Alen to b support and level 4 each, but, I couldn't beat it and gave up. I decided to replay through the game on normal mode, and am having a bit of trouble on chapter 13, but I wanted to continue playing hard mode, any tips on fe6's hard mode earlygame (mainly chapters 4 and 7), also, any good units that I should use? I'm looking forward to chapter 21, as its going to be actual torture.
  13. So I'm thinking of going and doing a hard mode run of FEA and would like to know if there are some basic tips that should help me get through without anyone dying. The plan is to try and actually finish the game on hard mode, although I am not too sure where to start. I would assume that this would be more than a significant challenge for me (I'm not that great at Fire Emblem in general) so practical help would be appreciated greatly. I would assume that this is the point where it would be pointless to pick up Donnel, even though it is tempting to get Donnel!Kjelle.
  14. 4 new videos for you all! In Part 6, we kill some bandits in the mountains for Chapter 5. Part 7 has us facing off against the traitorous Wagner in the easiest chapter yet. Parts 8, 9, and eventually 10 will have us going up against the dreaded Chapter 7. Man, I'm really starting to feel those increased growths, these Wyvern Knights are roided out and it's still so early in the campaign. 15. So I want to play my FE7 rom in hard mode, which would only be possible if I played the tutorial, then ENM, and then HNM... Is this doable via Nightmare? Is there any patch you guys know about? Is there any other solution or do I have to play all the easy modes? Thank you :)
