  1. NOTE: Thread abandoned due to technical reasons, and the new thread/randomizer will be up shortly, and I'll link it when it's up. I promise I won't forget about/abandon this randomizer like just about every other one I've done. Welcome to my randomizer of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. It doesn't seem to be as popular as FE7 in the way of randomizers, so I figured I'd give it a try. This also happens to be my first time playing FE6 for the long run in general, so that should make this even more interesting. Here's to hoping it doesn't end up rendering this unwinnable as a result of not being able to get the Divinestone because of Fae being randomized. GENERAL RULE OF THUMB FOR STRUCTURE: First spoiler box is screenshots, second is growths/rating and commentary, third is level ups in the map. Without further ado, let's do this. Chapter 1

  3. Hello everyone! I have a question about save files and emulation and any help or insight would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance :) I'm doing an Ironman playthrough of Sacred Stones hard mode (playlist here if you're interested: With a suspended mission saved, I can't practice on this file or cartridge now because my understanding of the save system is that once you start another instance of a chapter or save file, you lose any suspended data. And I definitely want to practice the coming chapters for the next session, so there won't be a bloodbath haha. The obvious solution is for us to just meet up again, finish this chapter, and open up the cartridge again so I can practice for next month, but this got be thinking... Is there a way to create save files for an emulator of the GBA fire emblem with specified character stats? I've heard of something like this for Pokemon games, and wondered if it is possible or already exists for FE. Thanks for being my favorite community! -Vaughn

  6. I need help deciding how to use my feathers. I have enough to get any one unit to 5* and between my 4* and 3* units, I have most characters. My 5* units currently consist of: Sannaki, Hector, Effie, Jaffar, Martin, Roy, Leo, Xander(spring edition :() Camilla, Sheena, Kain, Abel, Lucious, Charlotte, and Lachesis. Please take the units I have at 5 into consideration and give me some advice on who to promote!

    Help w/ Tiled

    Hi again, sorry for asking so many times about stuff. Based on Markyjoe's Tiled Tutorial (http://markyjoe.com/Tutorials/Tiled_Tutorial/Tutorial.html), I learned to create basic maps and inserting them without tile changes. But the problem comes when I try to insert the tile changes. I've written the properties manually, the map size is 16x10 squares (same size as the first prologue chapter), and quite a bit of errors show up, including this one from the pic and others with the ID, though I think I solved the ID issues. Still trying to figure out, but if anyone happens to know, it would help a lot. I don't think I need knowledge from event hacking on this yet; I'm still learning about that on Arch's post, and the Tutorial doesn't mention anything about event hacking. I'm not sure about what kind of object reference the error message is mentioning... Sorry for the trouble again if you decide to help, I'll update the situation if I find a solution myself. (I highlighted the most important part of the blog because I felt it was kinda ranty-ish and I just wanted to show the point)
  9. First of all, sorry for my poor english. I am doing a rom hack for sacred stones where I am changing each character's class through nightmare, I know that every class is set in the first chapter a character appears, but I don't know exactly where are the creature campaign characters "first chapter" seeing as how they join after you "achieve" certain things. I have read somewhere that the creature campaign characters are given through events, but I don't know exactly how to change events in nightmare, so I would like to ask if someone can please explain me how to do it.
  10. Hi! I was messing around with Nightmare to make Veld harder than before, and I wanted to give him Sol to increase his tankiness. But will it proc? Through testing, Sol, Luna and Astra doesn't seem to work with non-swords in FE4, but is that the case for FE5 too? Of course, I could be wrong. Please help me. Thanks! Also, is there a way to unglitch the Master Knight's name? I plan to make one or two playable in my easy mode hack, and the only bug seem to be the name being messed up in the profile screen. (I also plan to put unused spells like Falaflame back in, but I don't think I can fix those spell animations so I guess I'll let it be.)

So I decided to play FE6 because I wanted to get into Fire Emblem, but I didn't expect a 100% BS chapter at all, and I was wrong about that, because chapter 21 is the most appalling thing I have ever seen in any video game I have ever played, because the dragon lords and riders appear so much and deal far too much damage and are far too accurate for how many of them there are, as I have spent 3-6 hours on a space of 6 by 16 spaces and it is driving me insane, so I require help on this chapter, I am using: Rutger, LVL 9 swordmaster Str 12 Spd 27 Skl 26 Hp 52 Luck 8 Def 14 Res 7 Miledy LVL 11 Dragon lord Str 20 Skl 9 Spd 8 Hp 42 Luck 6 Def 17 Res 5 Dieck LVL 8 hero Not wasting time doing the stats. Ray LVL 7 druid Geese LVL 18 pirate Lugh LVL 15 sage (I don't have aircalibur) Zealot LVL 7 Klien LVL 5 Yuno LVL 9 Lvl 10 Echidna Lvl 10 marcus ( with garbage stats) Lvl 5 Lance (trash stats) Lvl 20 Astol Lvl 7 Cecilia Lvl 20 Yodel Lvl 20 roy Divine weapons: Malte, Miurgre. (and a wyrmslayer with 10 uses and a wyrmslayer with 15 uses.) That's truly it Also a Ziess for Miledy and Gaidan chapter. So could the much wiser people of the FE6 forums possibly help me, and if so, thank you.
  12. I'm hacking fe4 using nightmare and I'm trying to make Eldigan/Eltshan drop his Mystletainn when defeated. The problem is if someone other than Raquesis/Lachesis (who I gave major Hezul holy blood) kills Eldigan/Eltshan, I can't sell the Mystletainn and it is stuck in their inventory. Is there any way I can make holy weapons sellable? I know its possible seeing Mangs' FE4 PM. I would really appreciate it if someone told me how to do it. Thanks in advance.
  13. I am currently making a bunch of edits to FE8, one of which is changing Ross into a Pupil. I've changed his character to the class "Trainee Mage (1)". I've edited Ch.2 so that Ross comes as a "Trainee Mage (1)", holding a Fire tome and a Vulnerary. He's reached level 10, but he's not auto-promoting before the start of the next battle. What could be the problem? Apologies if this is a known issue.

On a path of self-discovery, she stumbles upon a suspicious army of soldiers, one that wore the colors of ancients. And a Simple Request So, if this story intrigues you, please let me know, as I have a few problems. I cannot code events for crap. I can sprite, at least, I think so, and I can write stories and dialogue and I know what I want the game to look like. The creative aspects are down. Trying to import map sprites from FESS into FE7 and after following Arch's tutorial I managed to get the standing and walking sprites working, but when i move the cursor over the unit it shows some other class's animation (the last unit I moved the cursor over) and I cant figure out why. Screenshots for more details and any help you can give would be amazing, thanks.
  16. Hello! Serenes Forest newb here. I'm currently playing through SoV in Japan and have gotten stuck at the end of chapter 3. I've beaten the bosses on both Alm and Celica's sides, which revealed that Mira-sama (her name in Japanese, not sure about English) is no longer in her castle, but there is nowhere for me to progress on Celica's side. On Alm's side, I've made it to the water gate, but have been told it can't be opened and am, therefore, unable to progress. Is there anyone out there who knows what needs to be done in order for me to unlock the next chapter?

Recently i got interested in ROM hacking thanks to all the utilities that the FE Community has to offer, But sometimes even those guides and tools are a bit unclear to me, i've been trying to add a new class into FE7, A promotion for soldier, i got it all working, Moving sprites, Names, Descriptions, Animations, but the problem is with standing sprites, all the tutorials i see about inserting map sprites they always say to override an existing one, i'm not replacing any unit so.. There's a way to add a standing map animation without replacing or changing the pointers of an existing one?

  19. I'm on Chapter 25, Jerme's map. Who do you guys suggest I should recruit? Harken or Karel? They both seem cool characters, especially Karel. I'm thinking about going for Harken, as I heard he's better, but I wouldn't mind another Sword master either.

  21. To spice up my love for fire emblem 7, I decided to try out nightmare. I switched Eliwood for Nino, class and everything but I can't seem to sieze the throne. Even if I give the lord ability to nino and her classes. Please help?
  22. My problem is that I'm making my first village and I'm loading text with the TEX1 code and it works with any random text in the game but when I use my custom text the game crashes. Hi, everyone: As most of you know, Fire Emblem Heroes is down for maintenance, and I already have an overload of hype for the upcoming Fire Emblem game; so this is a serious case of overhype without a cure I can think of. I'm out of ideas and fear I might go crazy before heroes goes back online. Any suggestions on what I should do to curb this hype? I've tried playing chess on an 6 X 8 grid (assigning statistics to each piece), playing the original Gaiden, and attempting to keep my mind occupied with other activities. Thank you for keeping my sanity in check better than (Fates Spoiler). Edit: Maintenance is over. Thank you for all your suggestions!   24. I am developing a concept for a hack and will begin developing it in the summer. However, I know that I will need help with things like sprites and testing for bugs. Where on this sub would I go to recruit people to help me? I'm not asking people to make the entire hack for me, there are just parts of the process that I am not skilled at and would like help from someone who is. Thanks in advance!
  25. I'm just starting out on hacking FE8, and I'm trying to use Nightmare. Everything runs smoothly in the application, and it saves correctly, but whenever I open my ROM nothing has changed. I know I'm editing the right ROM, and that I'm saving it because whenever I open Nightmare and the modules, the settings I changed are saved there. I don't really know why none of my changes are going into the game (changing portraits, base states, ect.). If anyone knows how I could fix it, that would be great.
