  1. That's the deal, folks. In this hip, cool and positively fly thread, you get two Let's Plays for the price of one! Join Elieson (that's me) and that other guy, Jedi (that's not me), as we struggle to play this totally decent and well-worth-the-time SNES-style tower climb JBeat 'Em Up with style, grace, and a passable amount of attitude. Here's the quick and easy rundown, if you wanna follow our playthroughs but don't quite know what the game is. What kind of game is Ys Origins? Well buckaroo, it's a JRPG Beat Em Up on Steam, that plays like a Playstation-era hack n' slash. Run around, smackity smacking things up with your magic spells or battle axe, use skills to blow things up faster, and do some puzzle solving and gear upgrading while you're at it. The pace of the game is relatively quick, and the bosses of the game are a rare challenge for even experienced gamers. It's got pretty standard SFX, but the music is a real treat. If anything, this is one of those games that you should definitely try, if you enjoy the genre to some degree. It doesn't require immense skill, and doesn't have a super steep learning curve. Why are you both playing it? I'm playing Yunica's story, and Jedi's playing Hugo's story. The game lets you start with one of two characters, and you unlock more as you beat the game. We'll worry about them later, but each character has a unique enough story to warrant their own playthrough. Jedi and I kinda wanted to do a collaborative effort, and this game's been on my backlog for years. Blazer actually gave me the game as a gift, and I promised him I'd do a Let's Play of it, to show my appreciation for him buying me this game. Talk about late, but I'm finally doing it. Jedi's on his way to become a Pokémon Streaming Master, so this'll be good for his reception, and just be overall fun for the both of us. There's a bunch of difficulties. What are you guys doing? For the sake of simplicity, we're both doing Normal, which is effectively the 3/5 star difficulty. What's special about your runs then? I'm playing blindly, and Jedi's playing through after knowing pretty well what the game has to offer. He beat it once, I'm sure of that. Probably more times...who knows! Ask him! He's the whiz here! [insert Other Question Here]. Just ask it! [spoiler=Yunica Story Episodes (Elieson)] [spoiler=Hugo Story Episodes (Jedi)]
  2. EDIT: I have officially retired from making let's plays! If any of the images are broken, please post on this thread or PM me, and I'll see if I can do anything about it. So, I was recently informed that apparently, some of my older let's plays are getting harder to find. I keep a list in my signature, but it's constantly getting longer, and bulkier, and I've had to de-link some due to URL limits. So! Here it is! An official list, with retrospective commentary, collecting links to all my LPs in one place. Also, to anyone who doesn't know about my LPs: I like to do screenshot playthroughs of Fire Emblem ROMhacks... I mean...Fan Projects! I started my first LP, FE7 Chaos Mode, on September 17 2014 (eg: A Long Time Ago), and just sort of... never stopped doing let's plays. And that's how I got to where I am today! Not really anywhere in particular! THE OFFICIAL LIST OF ALL OF MY LET'S PLAY THREADS, IN ORDER OF RECENCY: FE7 Chaos Mode: The later levels got a touch difficult and tactics like this may be required. LENGTH: Quite Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Sep. 17 2014 END DATE: Jan. 9 2015 My very first let's play, and the one that started it all! I was still trying to "find my style", so to speak, but I still think it turned out really well. If you want to read all my stuff, I would definitely suggest starting here. FE7 Chaos Mode was an interesting hack and definitely a good one for a first LP, even though there were about 8 other people also playing it at the time. Road to Ruin: My favorite levels were when I could control generics. Things got crazy fun. LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Finished for now START DATE: Nov. 13 2014 END DATE: Dec. 3 2014 Road to Ruin was a good let's play of a neat hack, which at the time was new and cool. It's a pity Road to Ruin as a project seems to have been abandoned, since it had so much going for it. Still, I think this is one of my better let's plays. NOTE: "Finished for now" means that the LP thread could be revived from the dead if the hack I played is updated with new chapters! Corrupt Theocracy: Just enjoying the brilliant story and characterization. LENGTH: Very Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Dec. 8 2014 END DATE: Feb. 11 2015 Corrupt Theocracy is probably my most interesting let's play. I think it's one of, if not the, best and most hilarious Let's Plays here. At the same time, however, I took a rather negative attitude towards the whole thing and kind of acted like a jerk throughout. So, I would like to apologize for that. It was if anything one of my most popular screenshot runs, climbing very high up on the most viewed/replied columns for this entire subforum. Elibian Nights: What else could I use to describe it? LENGTH: 3 millimeters STATUS: Did it even start? START DATE: Dec. 26 2014 END DATE: Dec. 26 2014 The beta of the full version of Elibian Nights was released! But... it was super buggy... so I decided to put the LP on hold for a few days while it was all fixed. ...Was it ever fixed?? I haven't been keeping track of the thread... either way, I didn't come back to it and may never will. Death or Glory: Probably one of the darkest stories in FE hacking. LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Finished for now START DATE: Jan. 26 2015 END DATE: Feb. 16 2015 Like Road to Ruin, Death or Glory was a very good hack, and I think this turned out to be a good LP, even if not a particularly memorable one. A quick note, I transcribe all dialogue in the hacks that I LP, and generally, this means you'll get to see the hack's whole story. Death or Glory has a very good story, and so that really helped make the playthrough interesting. Markyjoe's Hacks: The hacks made me commit many crimes against humanity. I am not sure if I will ever recover. LENGTH: Long-Ish STATUS: Finished START DATE: Feb. 16 2015 END DATE: Apr. 4 2015 I called the thread "All of Markyjoe's crap", which was intended to be funny, but looking back, it was a really a rather presumptuous title. It was only, like, 70% crap. I think this thread turned out well, particularly due to Markyjoe popping in and giving lots of entertaining and insightful commentary as to the level design. I initially planned to only play 5 hacks (Old Fire Mumblem, Tactician Hell, New Fire Mumblem, Super Hard Lyn Mode, and Chronicles of Lussaria) but was later convinced to play 2 more (Corruption of Roy, a ragefest submission, and Project Shoeshine as well). All of them are in the thread. The Rolling Request Thread: (TOTAL) LENGTH: Extremely Long STATUS: On a maybe-permanent hiatus Finished START DATE: Apr. 2 2015 HIATUS END DATE: Nov. 30 2015 I was faced with a quandary: There are a lot of little hacks out there I wanted to play, but I couldn't flood the forums and make a thread for every last one of them! And that's how this thread was born. It went on for a super-long time and I played a ton of hacks throughout, and I think it was fun for everyone. After a while, though, I stopped it because I was quite simply running out of little hacks to play, and I wanted to focus more on some of the major, longer hacks. Still! There's lots to read and enjoy, if you want! ALL THE LPs CONTAINED WITHIN: The Reckoning: Original character Do not steal LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Canceled/Finished START DATE: July 6 2015 END DATE: Aug. 2 2015 The Reckoning was a hack that was initially removed from Serenes Forest due to what was straight-up sprite theft from other creators. I managed to download it before it was removed, and I thought it would be fun to play through it. I was wrong. We got pretty far, but eventually I just stopped because I had lots of better hacks to move on to. You can read through it if you want but it's nothing particularly special. GhebFE: How the creator made this hack. LENGTH: Too Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Aug. 3 2015 END DATE: Mar. 25 2016 GhebFE... well, being completely honest, it's probably going to be pretty funny to you viewers, but for me, I can remember this with nothing other than regret. The hack is vulgar, it is rude, filled with inappropriate jokes that mean you probably shouldn't read it if you're 8, and you might choke on the tears of pain i cry while trying to play it. Fire Emblem Requiem: Running theme: Cowardly Bosses LENGTH: Quite Long STATUS: Finished START DATE: Apr. 3 2016 END DATE: Feb. 19 2017 Requiem was the very last hack I played (or, at least, the last LP that finished), and was a good note to end on. The hack had good gameplay and a good story, and was all-around a pleasant experience. I would recommend playing it yourself if you don't want to read an LP of it. FE8: HELLA AWESOME LIGHTNING BOOTS: Imagine FE8 but with the units like this LENGTH: Medium STATUS: Canceled START DATE: May 2 2016 END DATE: September 6 2016 It was regular FE8, except with the units all having their classes, stats, and recruitment order shuffled. The plan was for me and many other LPers to play it at the same time, butt I was in a period of very slow updates. Trying to split my limited time between this and Requiem was killing me, and the other LPers had finished by the time I was nearing halfway through. In the end, I canceled it so I could devote more time to Requiem - a decision much agreed upon by my readers. You can read what I did do, or, if you want a full let's play, one of the full threads is here. By Mr. Night! And... that's everything! ...Yup, that's all my FE screenshot LPs! There's nothing more! Before I go, I'd just like to thank all of you viewers out there! You're the reason I do all this, so thank you for all your comments, support, criticism and whatever else. I hope to continue doing great LPs in the future! Also... could you all do me one more favor? If there's a problem in any of my LPs, like, images breaking, or a link isn't working, or whatever, post about it here. That way, we don't need to necro-post anything! One last thing! I'm not quite happy with some of my screenshots right now. I feel like they could be better. If while reading through my LPs, if you find a screenshot of mine that better emphasized the hack in question, let me know!
  3. Hello, SF. I managed to get my computer fixed after who knows how long, and am now able to make videos whenever I want. As I have found out through my series of deleted videos (rip old YT account), I tend to ramble on and sound out of place when recording by myself, so I want you guys to help co-commentate with me. I have 3 games I'm thinking about starting with: Fire Emblem 4, 6, and 9. I'm the most familiar with 9 and the least with 4. Tell me whichever one you are interested in commentating, send me a PM with your Skype name, or send me a message at Aaron Ferrell on Skype. Thank you.
  4. So a friend of mine and I have been doing a bunch of Fire Emblem Randomizer streams and I've been "regularly" uploading edited versions of them onto my youtube channel. We completed Sacred Stones which was our first run not too long ago and moved onto Blazing Sword which was up until recently my favorite FE game. I figured may as well try and like advertise since there's a sub-forum for that. Couple things to know going in, I'm not amazing at Fire Emblem so if you're super amazing at them I may occasionally do something stupid and I apologize for that. We swear a lot, and I know a lot of people here probably have heard most of the stuff we say before but some people may not like that so warning ahead of time that we're not exactly PG. We also engage in a bit of the dark/offensive humor from time to time, nothing like super over the top so I don't think too many people would take anything we say seriously but just fair warning. Anyways, here's the first part. I've randomized almost everything; recruitment order, bases, growths, classes, affinity, move, con, etc. The only thing I didn't randomize were item stats. No increased growths or anything either since I'm not that good and have nothing to prove. The plan is to do Lyn and Eliwood's story on normal, again because I'm not great. Also any criticism anyone could give for how to perhaps make my videos better is always appreciated. I wanna improve so I can do a better job as an entertainer so even if it's just a minor detail I can fix please let me know. We also stream on my friend's channel Sundays at 3PM EST but we're both busy guys so our schedules often don't align so sadly that's not a consistent schedule, just the schedule we try for. https://www.youtube.com/user/Danetothemax Also my friend hates his URL so if you could tease him ceaselessly that would be great.
  5. Hello SF! After looking around and thinking for a bit, I've decided to re visit games that I never really looked into/stopped playing/just wanna look back again and give my general thoughts, and try to be funny. (keyword:try). The format will be me rambling about my first experience as well as where I heard about the game and what made interested in it first, followed I'm starting with... Fire Emblem: Binding Blade!!! My first experience: After enjoying the very fun Blazing Sword, I decided to try Binding Blade next. I never really heard about the game as a whole and how it fared as a game. All I knew at the time was that Roy was always the main thing that was talked about when it came down to it, and if you guys guessed, it was always talking about how he was terrible as a lord. So I took it with a grain of salt, and decided to get the FE6 emulator and see for myself. After playing it for a bit, I can just say... Okay, I've never actually finished Binding Blade. In fact, I borderline hated Binding Blade for a few very dumb reasons. The maps were too big, the RNG trolled super hard, and most of my units never really got good level ups. I stopped playing after hearing about the infamous chapter 14: Arcadia. Hearing the concept alone turned me off, but after actually seeing what it looks like... I just couldn't bring myself to play Binding Blade anymore. Namely because of that chapter where you get Echidna and Lalum and all of the stuff that you had to do really burned me out. I now remember that I wasn't really the best tactician(in fact I may have been borderline terrible) during the time and I didn't really optimize my units correctly. I'm now going at this with a new optimism and open mind. A few things to note/my general plans: -I'm not going in this 100% blind, but I am going in it kinda blind. I know most of the maps up until the chapter where you get Miledy, and who's the final boss, but that's pretty much it. I don't know how other characters fare beyond that, so I'm interested if there's any other viable units later on. -I am gonna be using guides on how to recruit characters/weapon and item locations. FE secrets are usually very important and can help a lot in the long run, and I want to get every unit possible and see how each works. -I'm not gonna be looking a the growth rates. I only know Lilina's, Sophia's, and Roy's by heart. Everyone else I'm either iffy about, or I just don't know, so I'm gonna let my level ups decide on how I feel about their growths. -I won't go all out about the story, but I will point out some things that I like in certain cutscenes as well as talk about the main point of each chapter. -I'm actually gonna point out some stuff graphic wise as well as music wise. -If it's a character that I already know about, I'll post my original impressions of said unit. -Along with the unit, I'm gonna give my impressions with said unit's class. -I'm gonna try to be funny, but I'm not a Batta the Beast or a Gheb. ;~; -I'll ask for suggestions, but not a lot since I do wanna experience some stuff on my own. I'll just make it known when I do. -I'm gonna try to use every unit at least 2 or 3 times. That includes Sophia, Ceilicia, and Wendy and the Knights. -At the end, there's gonna be a MVP of a chapter based on amount of times used, how much said unit contributed, and how good said units level ups were. INDEX:
  6. OK, as a preamble, let me tell you a little about my history with this game. Back in the N64 days, I rented this game for one weekend. I remember being extremely frustrated playing it since I spent almost the whole weekend playing as a Deku Scrub. By the time I finally managed to finish the first quest line in Clock Town and turn back to Human Link, it was time to return the game to Blockbuster, so I never really managed to do much with it. Cue 14 years later, I purchase the 3DS remake of the game on launch day, however, due to real life and other video games getting in the way, I never managed to start playing it...until today. So in this thread, I will be playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D in an experience that is going to be 88% new to me. I'll be sharing my thoughts and impressions along with some screenshots (all taken through Miiverse, so due to the process it takes to make them I won't be posting too many). Some ground rules: - NO STORY SPOILERS. Seriously, guys. Don't do this. I'm cool with you guys posting stuff like "Oh, wait until you finish this sidequest, it's so cool!", but major plot spoilers are NOT appreciated and will be reported. - No telling me where to go unless I ask. If I get stuck (very likely since this is a Zelda game), I will ask you guys for help. I want to figure this out as much as I can on my own, but I have no intention of wandering aimlessly for hours. - I can't say how often I will update this thread. I have a rather busy life and making a schedule for my hobbies is difficult. I'll definitely try to keep it from dying, though, as I intend to finish the game. - This isn't a 100% run. I'll just beat the game, getting anything I can along the way. Oh, and I'm naming the file "Link". I always do that first time on a Zelda game.
  7. Hey everyone it's me Altean Tactician! I am coming here to tell you all of my Youtube channel! I want to use this thread to easily link all of you to my videos as well as to keep you all updated on my channel and my let's plays without having to make a ton of update videos. I also wish to use this thread to answer any questions you all may have. I will have polls in this thread as well for you guys to vote on what game I play next after I finish an LP. Currently due to high school, my upload schedule is every Saturday and Sunday as well as whenever I can find time during the school week. Link to My Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOWb9IrJmExAXprDVe7B9Tg {Current Let's Plays} Ocarina of Time (Morning upload) - On hold until my friend Nick and I can find time to record FE7 EHM Randomized (Night upload) - Main focus as of now {Update 9/30/2016} Chapter 14 (part 5) of my FE7 randomized should be up in about two hours as of the time this is being posted I'm going to bed soon because I have a cross-country meet in the morning, so good night everyone! {Update 10/1/2016} Chapter 15 of my FE7 randomized run should be up in about 3-4 hours as of this post I'm looking for at most four members here that have a Youtube account. My reasoning is that I wish to do a FE12 Hard Mode Ironman Chain Play. There are 24 main story chapters and 6 gaiden chapters in that game so each person would play six chapters each, and we would alternate every chapter or every six chapters. If you are interested just post in this thread with a link to your channel. (If I can't get four more people on board then I can settle for three and each person would play ten chapters) Each person would upload the chapters they play to their own youtube channel as well. I will update you all when I plan to start this. {Update 10/2/2016} FE7 Part 7 is up now I am still looking for people to do the run that I talked about yesterday. {Update 10/5/2016} No new video today, editing is taking longer than I thought...{Update 10/8/2016} I am starting to record FE7 part 10 but due to life things it won't be up until tomorrow, so expect two videos now on Monday.
  8. I have started a Let's Play on Eliwood Hard Mode with 20% increased growth rates. It is a randomized Let's Play. I am going to try to upload 1-2 videos a day using Camtasia. Here a link to my playlist/slash first video of the playthrough https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLse8DG1Ljytt0xz54C1VK3lUISrgyfvXY .I apoligize for the volume levels on the first video. I will fix it in the next one. Anyway, be sure to watch and see how good and bad I do in Eliwood Hard Mode.
  9. So a few days ago I started an LP of Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and while I posted it on an FE facebook group I am part of, I figured it may get a little more buzz here. I have 3 episodes posted and will be posting monday-friday, taking the rest of the week to relax and not drain myself. But anyway, here is the link down below. Please give your feedback whether here or on my videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-z__rY7_F4 Episode 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTJMdnvZVxQ Episode 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcMcZH1ZrZM Episode 3
  10. So, since I already started this, putting the introductory message in spoilers. [spoiler=Old stuff]Hey! I was just wondering how many people of you were interested in me doing a Screenshot let's play of Fire Emblem 7 Randomized. I haven't seen a lot of randomized Let's play these days, and since a lot of them are of Fire Emblem 8, I've decided to do it of Blazing Sword or whatever you want to call it. I know that almost no one knows me here because I'm rather new, I was some months on inactivity because I was tired of Fire Emblem, so I want people to know me by doing Let's Plays in my free time (right now I'm on holidays) I really think doing screenshot!Let's Play it's like my hidden forte, or maybe it's just me, but I think I'll do it fine! Also please keep in mind English is not my native language so I may have some errors in my grammar, please bear with me if that happens :P Now, there's something I would like to ask to the people that are watching this Let's Play. I'm very aware that at the start this is pretty boring, I mean the main purpose of Lyn's mode is serving as a tutorial, however, I don't want to skip those 10 chapters since y'know, this is a randomizer, different stuff happens. Things will get funnier in Eliwood/Hector mode! Anyways, I realized that there are so little people actually giving a (...) about this, and thus, the thing I wanted to ask is: What would YOU (yes, the one who's reading this) want ME to do? Since this is a public let's play, I want to hear what does the people want to see. There are a lot of randomizer let's plays hanging in the forums, so I want this to be a little different. So, if you want to help me to make this Let's Play unique and to have more people watching this, give ideas! Make this harder! Or funnier! Whatever interesting idea crosses your mind! Everything that can make this LP unique helps! And if you feel like a nice person, share this with the people you know, that would be AWESOME! [spoiler=Settings] (Yeah, not randomizing MOV because meh) So, HOW MANY COMMENTS CAN WE GET?! If I get enough comments about doing it, I'll start tomorrow! Or at least I will try to, if I don't forget, that is! Well, be sure to leave a comment, and I'll see you later!
  11. Alm is a barbarian. First time playing through a non-localized fe game and i've been having a lot of fun with it!
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X10xtRxvNI&feature=youtu.be It's begun, sorry if its a little quiet, gonna try to fix that for the future. FEEDBACK WOULD BE NICE
  13. So, because I got bored (and I have lots of time on my hands because Power Master is almost done), I started a new YouTube series where I play my games, but with a HARDCORE twist! For those of you not familiar with the "hardcore" concept in games, it's a fan-created set of extra rules applied to a game where if you die, you stop playing. I decided to start with one of my favorite games in the Zelda franchise: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap! Here are the rules I follow: 1. Don't die 2. No Heart Containers or Pieces of Hearts 3. No Bottled Fairies or Potions Watch it here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TTzgI6z7YE&feature=gp-n-y&google_comment_id=z12mhzpazlrut5dx104ccd4hbr3sznp45nw0k Do keep in mind this is my first video and I'm limited to only the YouTube editor as I don't have programs like Adobe Premiere. But enjoy it anyway! It's also a chance for my friends and acquaintances here on SF to finally hear what I sound like. Like and subscribe! Also, to Eclipse, I realized I posted this in the wrong thread. I meant to hit Creative, but for some reason I didn't. Whoops. Can you move it for me, please? I guess Let's Plays works, too. Haha
  14. Hi everyone ! I'm starting a LP! ... You have no idea, who I am? Well, why do you care? I'm not important here. The game is, so let's talk about it. So Aëdemphia is a (unfinished) RPG maker (2003) game you can download here. So... if you have taken a look at the previous image, you might have noticed the game is not in english. Indeed, it's french and don't have a translation because of the sheer size of it and the... not so warm reception of the english speaking RPG maker community. But don't worry, I'll be there to translate the most important of it. Woohoo! So... it's a RPG. What else? Aëdemphia distinguish itself by blending the two main groups of RPGs, japanese and western. Like a JRPG it has a developped story, a turn by turn battle system and people with gravity defying hair. And like a WRPG, it has an extensive world with lots of optional quests and loads of choices to make (and they do have consequences.) The actual demo contains around two thirds of the game and propose more than 30 hours of gameplay (for the average player) And more importantly, it's very good, yep I said it. And if you don't believe me... Read a bit more. So let's start, I guess. Part 1 : Introduction and dialogue Why emoticon limit!
  15. Hi everyone, this is kingddd and I would take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read this. Currently I have signed up as an Extra-Life member and take this opportunity for myself to explore, express and open myself up more and at the same time volunteer to help my local hospital. What is Extra-Life? Extra Life is a program which helps support children's hospitals where the children need all the help they can get and how we can help is by playing games and just ask for others to take their time to watch us or post video game footages and ask to donate to our local hospital. Currently I'm running for BC children's hospital and be honored if you can watch me play some games or just me posting some video footages of me playing live and donate to my local hospital. I will receive no revenue at all as this is going to my hospital all 100%. To donate or go to my twitch channel and click the BC children's hospital: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=151576 Livestream: www.twitch.tv/kingddd17 Depending on how my schedule works, I will be playing a game live or post a random gameplay video of me playing and will make a poll if enough support comes in to create the next videos. My first project is stated below. If I can reach the 100 dollar goal, then I would consider this a success and would appreciate your generosity, continuing efforts and to help support my local hospital and the community.
  16. I am interested in potentially starting up a play file on the Sims 4 which involves taking input from forum users (particularly in this category) on what a sim should do by a week-by-week basis, up until they die, and posting screenshots of their exploits. Sort of like a "choose your own adventure" game, but with a group instead of each individual, controlling one sim collectively created by the group. I have a vague idea of how this may work, but it might kind of fall on it's face if no one else is familiar with the game. I'm sure there are fans of the series here, but I'm not sure how many, and I'm not sure how many would actually be interested in this concept. So, uh, does anyone find the idea intriguing? EDIT: Project is a-go. See this for details. I will probably update this post constantly and make it pretty later.
  17. Hello everyone! I have been lurking on the forums here for a few months and was recently inspired to make an account. I decided to start off my first ever screenshot Let's Play with one of my favourite Gameboy Advance games. Superstar Saga is an action RPG, with a focus on the action. Unlike in typical RPGs where player input is limited to selecting a target to attack and with what, Superstar Saga involves you in the action by having you execute well timed button presses during a fight to get maximum damage. This results in the game being much more immersive than a typical RPG. I am going to be explaining the mechanics in more detail as they appear. [spoiler=Chapter 1: The Journey of Mario and Mr. Green Part 1] I always like to take a moment to look at the title screen and main menus in games. I love the record book motif of the game files. Peach's Castle. This can only end well... Oh. I was expecting Bowser to show up. I guess that gifts are always- Of course. It is literally impossible for good things to happen to Peach. Even the other kingdoms are out to get her. The "obvious main villain" alarms are going off like no tomorrow. Peach gets some fart gas blown in her face and knocked out. The cameraman goes on a drug trip and starts seeing psychedelic colours. Strangely, the dastardly duo do not kidnap her. Why even bother knocking her out if you are just going to leave her here? The villains egress to the witch shaped....thing in the sky. Where is Mario when you need him? Well, Luigi is here I guess. He seems a bit busy with the laundry though. The castle is clearly visible in the background, so why can't we see the ominous cloud of death? A Toad hustles into the scene because of bad stuff happening. Finding Luigi to be of no help, he runs into the bros' house (that I totally did not forget to screenshot) to search for Mario. Fun fact: I did not know you controlled Toad in this scene when I first played and ended up waiting for like 5 minutes before I realized I had to move. Some of the details of the Casa Mario. Does everyone have a such a large picture of peach? Uhm Toad that is the bathroom maybe you shouldn't- Toad catches a glimpse of the Italian Stallion and decides that bashing his head into the dresser is the best way to deal with it. Mario gives him the standard treatment to get him to reveal some important information. Mario dashes off and gets dressed (which I totally didn't forget to screenshot) and drags Loogi off to the start of the adventure! The Bros. arrive at the castle and catch Bowser from behind. It's fine because he is probably up to no good anyways. The first fight begins! A typical fight screen. The bottom left corner has some information about Mario's status. The top number next to the heart is HP, and the bottom number next to the red and green pill are Bros points, which will be discussed later. The only attack Mario knows right now is jump (figures). This is were the action element of "action RPG" comes into play. If you press the A button just before Mario lands on the head of an enemy (see screenshot 3) he successfully completes the jump and does full damage. if you do not, he sort of just falls onto Bowser for less damage. Another crucial part of battle is dodging. You can press A to make Mario jump over Bowser's flames at the right time to avoid damage. You can even use this to counterattack some enemies! After a few more attacks, Bowser goes down. Mario reigns supreme! Suuuuuuuure you would have. The plot gets explained. Although the bad guys did not kidnap the princess in full, they did manage to steal her voice. That must have been what the fart gas was for. No wonder her new speech is so....explosive. Mario is called to action. Bowser agrees to help out as well, but only to his own ends. RIP. Mario messes around in a plaza for a while, gathering items and helping out the toads. I totally did not whiff the jump in screenshot 6 four times. Refusing to return the mushroom that is on the ledge (screenshot 7) lets you keep the mushroom (you spiteful ass) but if you say you will return it you get to keep it AND a super mushroom. He went thatta way. Luigi sure is happy to see Mario head off... The save screen. The area you are in, coin and game time counter, and level indicator are nice touches. As is the stamp to let you know when saving is complete. Sup Toadsworth. Thanks for the allowance money. Luigi is kind of a coward and thus is going to stay at home. He still loves Mario though, so he is going to tip his hat to him. Sick turnout Bowser. Your baddies must be too scared of Mario to get near him. That, or they have an incompetent leader... Luigi joins the cause! Despite his best efforts at being a coward, Luigi is snatched up and tossed headfirst into adventure! Mario and Luigi are now officially a team! They always stand in a line, and either brother can be in front. Notice how Mario's icons at the top right are always red and Luigi's are green. The buttons they use are different depending on who is in front, but the colours are the same. The inside of the suitcase, along with the items and equip screen. Pants will always have effects on health and defense. Other equipable accessories will have effects on different statistics. Finally, the moment you've been waiting for! Base stats! The stats are broken down as follows: HP - Health. Self explanatory. BP - Bros. Points. Will explain later. POW - Power. Affects how strong all your attacks are. DEF - Defense. Affects how well you can take a hit. SPEED - Affects the order of turns. Whoever has the highest speed moves first, followed by the second highest, etc. After the last person goes the cycle repeats. STACHE - How groomed, elegant, and shiny your mustache is. Affects Lucky hits (criticals are different) and store prices. EXP - How much EXP you have. NEXT - How much EXP it will take to get you to level up. Right off the bat, Mario is a little bit stronger and significantly faster than Luigi is. He also has a slightly more well trimmed stache. Luigi has higher health and defense, so is more tanky than his brother. Also of note here is that Mario needs less exp to level up than Luigi does. Perhaps because all his previous adventures have left him so experienced? This is all for now, but I will hopefully upload the rest of this part either tonight or tomorrow. Comments and feedback are welcome!
  18. Hey guys! I'm started a new LP of Radiant Dawn! I can't wait to get the ball rolling on it! Would love it if you guys took a look at it. (disclaimer, i swear kind of a lot) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNpCNoCDtmQ THANKS!
  19. Yo MrNight here, Doing another Lp run of chaos mode before I move on to other hacks cause I also want to showcase some of the new animations.....much much later. also cause I simply want to play it again ok. however there are new rules to this run which may make it exciting or....boring idk but fuck it, doing it anyway NEW RULES -Magic users Lock if it shoots magic, I'm using them. what this means is between the choice of a physical attacker and a magic one, I have to take the magic ones. So yes, dart will be in this run. -No stat boosts except luck icons yeah, you fucking read that right, klok graciously put in all those stat boosters in to further help the player not to screw himself, but I am not going to use them to screw myself, (pun intended ) plus how else am I going to pay for all these ultimate seals. Edit: I forgot about boots, so those will be assassin locked. -Exploits can be used yes I will allow the mine giltch AND the torch giltch. if you don't know what that is or can it be done in fe7, you are in for a treat....or me failing at it, we'll see. - SpiderMan Savestate because I already beat chaos mode, I unlocked the right to the spiderman rule "everybody gets one" extra savestate per chapter. So when I lose somebody I have to restart from the beginning or from that 1 savestate. -No Deaths Allowed basically if someone dies, restart. I will not be recruiting farina if she doesn't come with something useful but have to keep her alive as well even as a green unit. last but certainly not least.... -Serra Lock because I hate her so much (funny thing is I love her in vanilla fe7) and she was the cause of most of my restarts she will be my ball and chain this run. she must be in every chapter, even over magic users. so yeah....(swallow fear) alright, will update my game and will come back after I get started. ch 11 Great start ch 12 Things are going surprisingly well
  20. So at the end of December, I decided to finally start this game for the Smashfest that I've been doing since....November I think? Or was it October? In any event, I think I can start sharing this LP with you guys much like I did with FE8 last year. Although I probably will NOT be doing anymore FE LPs after this game is over with, this game is taking up so much time. As of me posting this video here, I am already at chapter 19 of Book 1, so I already know things up until then. I honestly should remember most things just from playing Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem, but those were also last year when I played The Sacred Stones...^^; So here's the video for ya'll to enjoy! Hopefully it's not to jarring (it does use the English patch, but I for the life of me do not understand why it has seizures in battle with the menu....never have either). ^^; And yes, I WILL be doing both books one after the other. May be really burnt out on FE after this too. ^^; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csuuY3squs4
  21. Hi, I'm the director and creator of the Fire Emblem fandub. One of my cast members is putting together a fan dubbed LP of Suikoden II and he's needing more voice actors for the vast cast of this niche JRPG. He's looking for people to voice Viktor and Gorudo specifically; two low pitch, gruff males. Something you'd be interested in?All information here: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/members/VisionofChaos/casting-call/Suikoden-II--Voice-Acted--Round-2/
  22. Decided to do this for my first series on the new channel. I am going to show off both paths and use different characters and promotions for each one. I also threw in stat sheets for each character using either sprites or screenshots of sprites showing off what they look like in each promotion stage and their beginning stats and growth rate. http://youtu.be/pYV7fhuHFNE
  23. (DISCONTINUED LP) Hello, I am doing a Quasi-Blind Let's Play of FE12 Aka New Mystery of the Emblem-Heroes of Light and Shadow or Shin Monsho no Mazo ~Hikari to Kage Eiyu~ (WARNING: Fancy symbols not included with my keyboard) Character Creation: I choose for my character to be a Knight. I chose Hair Style 1 and an eyepatch (Homage to my avatar here on Serenes Forest). He is a farmer's child (For a buttload of HP) and is Kind (For more Defense plus boosts to defense growths) and will be honorable (For some much-needed Skill and Speed) PROLOGUE 1: Nothing much to say here. I 2-shot the Soldier and Jagen PROLOGUE 2: Not much to say either, Nearly had Ryan (Or Ruan pre-fix) out for the battle. PRLOGUE 3: IN PROGRESS (LP discontinued, may be brought back on here...)
  24. Yep, another fe7 chaos mode lp because I want to join in on the fun. After much eventing headaches and was trying not to play other roms so I wouldn't subconsciously put spins on other people's ideas, the time has come to say screw the rules I want to enjoy other people's roms too. What the hell is a 100% yolo run? Get all the characters possible in a single run, Green drops, and chests baby, yes even train shitty Barte for useless karla. Y.O.L.O = you only savestate once....per beginning chapter xD what about mine glitch and dessert drops? no mine glitch, harder that way and depends, not going to spend all day looking for shit. What makes your LP different? Shit I don't know, although disclaimer I do swear a lot. ok LET'S DO THIS! So far I am impressed and excited.
