  1. This post will compile a list of builds people have used to beat the game on Maddening difficulty. A link will be provided that takes you to each build. I thought it would be nice to have examples of teams/builds that people used as they beat the game and for those examples to be easily accessible. This can serve as a good reference for people who want examples to look at whether they are attempting Maddening for the first time or want something to compare their own builds to. This also brings more exposure to some of the quality posts others have put in time and effort to share. To both appreciate those efforts and hopefully help more people enjoy and potentially benefit from them. If you'd like to contribute a build, here are some suggestions for the format and requirements for keeping this a decent quality reference (An example is posted in the next comment below): It should be a team build that you beat the entire game with on Maddening difficulty. Was it an NG or NG+ game? Indicate which house/route was used. Was DLC used? If so, to what extent? Would be nice to have a mid-game progress example as well, but not a requirement. For example what did the team look like in Ch 12/13? Information to include: characters' Levels, Stats, Skills, and Progression should be included. Other useful information can be about equipment setup and battalions. All this information is made easily visible if you take a snapshot of your character's information screen in battle from either the Inventory page or Battalion page. I think images are ideal but not necessarily a requirement as long as this information is provided. Images from the Roster Status and Skills pages also provide all this information neatly. It is nice to include comments you have on your play style and characters. Were they good in your build? strengths/weaknesses? How did you use each character, did they fill a specific role in your team? Would you do something different to improve your build? Etc. Feel free to comment on whether any aspects made certain problematic battles easier in some way. Anything you feel is important/relevant or just want to mention If you built a character in some uncommon way, maybe showcase the character's build with a few screenshots of what they're capable of or how you used them in battle. Even if it didn't turn out too great it would still be useful to know. It might make more sense to have the builds submissions each in their own separate post. Especially since people might want to discuss your build, but since we can link to specific comments as well, feel free to post in this thread if you prefer. Although, if you do want to comment on a listed build, then as per forum rules don't necro-post on an an old thread. And many of these builds are old threads (check the dates). Following is the (hopefully) growing list of builds that people have kindly shared. Please note that this list in no way rates how good the builds themselves are. I think the fact that someone beat the game on Maddening indicates that they are at least 'good enough' for the settings they played the game on (admittedly though, what's 'good enough' might differ from player to player or even run to run). But also note that some builds involved a significant amount of grinding. I leave it up to the reader to go through any individual build/guide they're interested in. If you have previously posted a build somewhere please let me know and I'd be happy to add it to the list. If you are new to the game, in case you’re not aware, please bear in mind that playing the game using DLC can be significantly easier than without, depending on how much dlc content was used. The same can be said for NG+ games compared to NG games. Builds achieved in NG+ runs might be impossible in an NG run. Minor Spoiler Alert: Inevitably these builds will have some minor spoilers like revealing story-related unique classes. Screenshots might include images of enemies or story-related classes. Also, the builds posts themselves may contain spoilers in the text depending on what the poster wrote. Usually build posts don't contain any major spoilers but I won't take responsibility for posts that do. =================================================== =================================================== Blue Lions / Azure Moon Example Builds: Build by @tchin, NG, with DLC, end game stats. Also, while I was planning my game at the start, I wanted an idea about what to expect in terms of end game character levels and stats, or even for mid-game. While I did find a few posts online showing their end game team and builds, they weren't exactly easy to find and there's a lot of rich discussions on various possible builds or ideal builds for characters that's easy to lose oneself in. Another reason for wanting something like this is because the discussions I see often focus on what are the optimal builds for each character. While I love learning about and discussing optimal builds, sometimes it can feel pressuring that I have to use the optimal build and, at least for me, can make the game less fun if I feel like I have to build my characters a very specific way. Often, the optimal builds advice comes off to someone like me as "if you do anything else you're not gonna make it". But then again considering how people are able to solo Maddening, that can't possibly be the case. Thirdly, I feel that while there is a lot of discussion on character builds, I haven’t seen much consideration given to ‘team builds’. By this I mean how a character build might fit into the context of a full team or how they might synergize with each other. I’m hoping that team example builds can facilitate these kinds of discussions while serving as practical examples. There is a lot of discussion on what is the ‘best’ build for a unit, but the ‘best’ might not always be what a player is looking for. If you’re like me, sometimes a player wants to try something different or just something they enjoy and just wants to know that it won’t be such a bad idea that it’ll make a run impossible. By providing examples of what others have used to beat the game with, I hope this category of sub-optimal but ‘good enough’ builds might get exposed. Lastly, with examples to look at including stats, skills, and battalions, it can serve as a reference for those interested in specific examples of stats at the end game. It can also show real examples of the role that progression paths and/or rng can have on your final stats. Sometimes the devil’s in the details and why one person’s run went much better than someone else’s can have a lot to do with the progression path towards the same final class, how they split up instructions, exp, battalions, gear setup, stat boosters, adjutants, how they used them tactically, whether they grinded a lot or not, etc.
  2. Hi, I think it would be interesting to tier female units in Conquest for a females only run. The rules are the same as usual (not based on LTC, more on efficiency, the role they play, are they needed, strongly recommended, how they contribute to make the game easier), except here it's a little special: no servant (no Felicia abuse) and no Corrin (Corrin will be male and only be pair up bot in defensive pair up as soon as posible, when Effie arrives for example). Pair up should be reduced to the minimum (outside Corrin who has to hide on someone's back, the rest should be used as independent units most of the time. Attack stance is allowed since ennemies already abuse it to the point where it's purely disgusting with their seal def/steel shuriken attack stance shenanigans. Kana is the only allowed child and will be discussed as well in this list. Let's put 3 lists: 1 with reclassing/DLC classes authorized and the other where only the main class tree is allowed. MU can reclass freely since his usefulness entirely depends on the stats he gives to his partner. Kana will be the only one to be discussed in the 3rd list, and won't be tiered with other females since she depends on her mother and inheritance to be anything (though you must also specify if you reclass her or let her in her original class). Don't forget to specify Kana's recruitment time (since she will be different if you get her at a time you can kid seal her or during the beginning chapters). This would help players who go for such challenge to immediately identify good units, units they should train until a certain point before ditching them and units who they should avoid. Units who will be tiered: Camilla, Effie, Elise, Peri, Selena, Beruka, Nyx, Charlotte, Flora (Kana in the exclusive Kana tier list as stated above). Mozu is excluded since she appears in every route like the servants, Silas and Kaze and has been discussed thousands times already. Many units will be tiered very differently between reclass allowed tier list and no reclass I suppose. How I guess the tiers will look like: S- Necessary A- Very helpful B- Can be used since you've got room anyway C- Use it if you really want to, but it's like shooting yourself in the foot Let's go!
  3. The goal of this poll is to provide other players a challenge by pointing out which classes to ban to add difficulty. Here are the interesting effects for the Black Eagles (using the votes as of this edit): Hubert: Dark Knight (Uber), Dark Knight (OU), Dark Bishop (UU) Dorothea: Dancer (Uber), Gremory (OU), Warlock (UU) Ferdinand: Wyvern Lord (Uber), Paladin (OU), Great Knight (UU) Bernadetta: Bow Knight (Uber), Sniper (OU), Pegasus Knight (UU) Caspar: Wyvern Lord (Uber), War Master (OU), Warrior (UU) Petra: Wyvern Lord (Uber), Assassin (OU), Swordmaster (UU) Linhardt: Bishop (Uber), Bishop (OU), Holy Knight (UU)
  4. I wasn't sure if i would put this here or in Concepts but regardless i wanted to share my list of classes! Whether or not i would use this in something in the future i'm not sure. The class list isn't using the regular terms in Fire Emblem as there's more than the usual weapon and magic types, making it as its own thing rather than specifically Fire Emblem. Weapon types: Melee:Sword, Lances, Axes, Hammers, and Daggers Weapon Effectiveness: Sword->Axes->Lances->Hammers->Swords. Swords=Lances, Axes=Hammers Daggers (and Fists) have no advantage over other melee weapons. Ranged:Bows, Crossbows, FirearmsBows->Crossbows->Firearms->Bows. Magic: Fire (beats Ice, Nature and Earth. Weak to Wind, Water and Lightning) Water (beats Fire, Earth, and Ice. Weak to Wind, Lightning and Nature) Earth(beats wind, lightning and ice. Weak to fire, water, and nature) Wind(beats Nature, Water and Fire, weak to Ice, Lightning, Earth) Ice (beats Nature, Lightning, Earth, weak to Fire, Water, Wind) Lightning (beats Wind, Ice, Fire, weak to Earth,Nature,Cold) Nature (beats Earth,Water and Lightning,Weak to fire, ice, Wind) Solar (beats Dark, weak to Cosmic Lunar (Beats Cosmic, weak to Solar) Cosmic (Beats Solar, weak to Lunar).) 5. In this list, I’ve taken it upon myself to rank, in no particular order, 20 of the best, and 10 of the worst voice acting performances/choices for previously voiceless characters making their English voiced debut in Fire Emblem Heroes. Some ground rules for this list: - No characters who have appeared with an English voice in any other game. - Seasonal units do not count. - No voice actor may appear more than once. - A voice simply being “good” or “bad” won’t cut it. There needs to be something about the voice and how it compares to the quality of work the actor is known for. A certain degree of effort, or lack thereof, is required. - If a character from the Tellius games has a different actor than they did back in their original games, they may be included. - This is based on opinion, so you are more than welcome to disagree with me. BEST: 1. Sigurd - Grant George: George’s iconic voice and unique intonations made him the absolute perfect choice for Sigurd. He sounds noble and regal, just like he should. 2. Hector - Patrick Seitz: One of my personal favorites, FE voice director Patrick Seitz nails anything he casts himself into. Hector is no exception. 3. Jeorge - Mick Wingert: This one was a toss-up between Jeorge and Arden, but Jeorge took it due to having more consistency. Clearly Wingert has no problems adapting his incredible range. 4. Michalis - David Vincent: The good ol’ voice of Robin proves he can do more as Michalis. He truly sounds villainous in every line he has, and that’s a good thing for a warrior of his caliber. 5. Cain - Taliesin Jaffe (credited: T. Axelrod): Hearing Jaffe’s energy come out of Cain is a true joy. It reminds me of Owain/Odin, in a way, and that’s never a bad thing. Cain is easily one of my very favorites. 6. Eirika - Kira Buckland: Surpassing her brother in the VA department, Eirika’s voice is widely considered to be one of the very best the game has to offer. Buckland’s voice oozes with kindness and respect, which couldn’t be more fitting for Eirika. 7. Seliph - Christian La Monte: I honestly have no idea who Christian La Monte is, but I cannot deny his skill as a voice actor. Seliph and Roderick’s voices sound like freshly-opened butter, and I must give him the credit he deserves. 8. Julia - Cassandra Lee Morris: Seliph’s younger half-sister also proves to have a respectable voice. She sounds quiet and serene, but clear and with conviction, just as I would expect from the lady who voiced Morgana. 9. Black Knight - Robert Clotworthy: My favorite character in the game has been blessed with divine armor, a holy sword, and a god-like voice. Though I haven’t heard much of Clotworthy’s work, personally, I cannot deny I would be willing to hear more after this exemplary performance. 10. Maria - Wendee Lee: Despite having voiced Lyn three different times, I still hold true to the belief that FE Heroes’ Director Wendee Lee’s best voice is Maria. She captures her pure-hearted innocence and youthful energy so well. 11. Arvis - Xander Mobus: The award for my personal favorite voice in the whole game goes to Mobus’ Arvis. It’s just amazing in every way. Who knew the Smash Bros. Announcer could sound so evil? 12. Klein - Edward Bosco: Speaking of Xander Mobus, his best friend Edward Bosco did a fantastic job as Klein, perfectly capturing his respectful mannerisms and noble characteristics. 13. Hawkeye - Jamieson Price (credited: Taylor Henry): Smooth and serene at one moment, powerful and angry the next, Price’s range is explored entirely through one character as Hawkeye proves the breadth of his personality. 14. Nino - Sarah Blandy: Though the same could be said for Fae and Midori, I adored the childlike, youthful energy found in Blandy’s voice as Nino. It’s no surprise that her “I’ll do my best!” has won the hearts of so many players. 15. Lucius - Michael Sinterniklaas: Capturing a feminine disposition is no easy feat, but Sinterniklaas did so without any problem. I would consider his best role to be Lucius over Takumi and Niles, without a doubt. 16. Ninian - Brianna Knickerbocker: Gentle and caring, just like Sakura. But still different and unique enough to be easily identified with the icy dragon girl. Knickerbocker’s role as Ninian is a treat for the ears. 17. Priscilla - Marcella Lentz-Pope: Contrary to her prior roles as the determined Corrin and Scarlet, Lentz-Pope now finds herself voicing the serene Eturian noble Priscilla. Fortunately, she nails it. 18. Valter - Imari Williams: It’s weird to think that the guy who voiced the gentle Benny in Fates now voices the crazed Moonstone general Valter. Regardless, he does so very well, perfectly capturing his bloodlust and crazed obsession with battle. 19. Lute - Brina Palencia: Moreso than her performance as Ayra, Palencia’s role as Lute was spot-on. She sounds deadpan, confident, and somewhat narcissistic, which fits her character perfectly. 20. Dorcas - Kirk Thornton (uncredited): I am very saddened that Thornton doesn’t get to be properly credited for his fantastic performance as Dorcas. His lines referring the old 2003 commercial are too hilarious to ignore, and his tone in general is exactly as I would expect from the depressed family man. WORST: 1. Lachesis - Cristina Valenzuela: This one is one of my least favorites, personally. While Valenzuela has had many good roles in the FE series, like Athena and Tatiana, her role as Lachesis is definitely not one of them. 2. Karel - Bryce Papenbrook: Despite his fantastic performance as Oscar, Papenbrook has found himself knocked down a peg when it comes to Karel. I wouldn’t fault him on it, though; it was most likely just a bad casting choice. 3. Nephenee - Julie Ann Taylor: I like Taylor’s roles as much as the next guy, but her role as Nephenee could’ve used some work. She lacked her shy presence, and her accent didn’t feel natural. 4. Eliwood - Yuri Lowenthal: He sounds exactly like Marth; there was no discernable difference to me whatsoever. Even Merric sounded more distinct. 5. Lilina - Julie Kwieler: Lilina to me is one of the very worst. Her insanely high-pitched, squeaky voice wouldn’t sound good on anybody, much nonetheless on Hector’s adorable daughter. 6. Ephraim - Greg Chun: Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Chun’s voice. His performance as Lukas still makes my heart melt. But Ephraim didn’t feel quite right, at least to me. 7. Rebecca - Hunter Mackenzie Austin: This one felt like a loss of potential more than anything else. While not necessarily bad, I do wish she had a little more personality, especially for a girl described as “helpful and bright”. 8. Gwendolyn - Cherami Leigh: Gwendolyn sounds exactly like Caeda, and without any of the personality to go with it. This caused Gwendolyn to become generally forgettable, which should never be said for an FE character that made it into Heroes. 9. Mist - Sarah Williams: After the misery we were put through listening to Mist’s awful voice in the Tellius games, I was hoping for something better. Unfortunately, Williams’ voice for Mist was not a good replacement, making her sound squeaky and too young. 10. Gordin - Max Mittelman: I simply didn’t feel as though Mittelman’s voice was a good fit. It often sounded like an awkward blend of Gray and Kaden, and didn’t quite sit right with me. Well, that’s my list, and the explanations behind them. I worked hard on it, so I’m eager to hear what you all think. Any suggestions or comments are very much appreciated. Thanks for reading! - KoolioKenneth
  6. What video games did you find it hard + hard difficulty mode as well did you managed to clear in your playthrough. I did managed to beat some of the hard video games that I managed to complete that are: The Mysterious Murasame Castle Donkey Kong Country 2 & 3 on the GBA (I did heard it was one of the hardest games on the SNES) The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Star Fox Zero (I did heard people complaining about the controls, but I managed to play the demo first to get use to the controls) Fire Emblem Heroes (I beat all the Story Mode Chapters in Lunatic Mode and Paralogues, and plus, this is kinda like the first Fire Emblem game that I managed beat Lunatic Mode) Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels on Super Mario Bros. All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition in the Wii. Super Mario Maker for 100 Mario Challenge in Expert Mode (13 times to get the Mystery Mushroom costumes) StarTropics (two times on Wii Virtual Console and NES Online) Ninja Gaiden (NES version) The Legend of Zelda (NES version) Zelda II: The Adventures of Link Ninja Gaiden II (NES version) Castlevania Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse Super Castlevania IV Castlevania: Dracula X Blaster Master Mega Man I am still haven't cleared on Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Ninja Gaiden III (NES version), and Cuphead.
  7. ~Voting Phase~ Rules/Goals: Conquest Hard mode No DLC/Spotpass/Einherjar/Lottery Shop/Invasions etc No Kids or their paralogues. LTC, no absurd set ups (<5-10% chance of success). Reclassing, weapon/item shops, smithy allowed. Have fun! Right now is the voting phase! Even if you are new/inexperienced with this game/debating feel free to drop a numerical vote with some logic behind it (remember your favourite units aren't necessary the best units =p) and then using averages we can tier smash-bros style. After we've done the initial orderings, which I predict will be popularity based and while it'll definitely be wrong we can reorder people drastically through debate. That doesn't mean discussion is discouraged while voting! Please use each others thoughts and ideas to help influence your vote - which won't be locked in until next week (1 week per character). It's best to keep an open mind and talk using averages found on the site rather than personal experience. To make it easier for me to find your vote if you could put two hastags before your vote (e.g. ##Avatar: 10) that would be greatly appreciated. Tiers will be spereated by a large numerical difference, votes out of 10 please. Current standings: The rules are also open to discussion.
