  1. Well it looks like I did a stupid thing and deleted my current playthrough (I was up to chapter 21 D:) so I figured that with all the fun and games of trying to start again, I would rather happily share this run with everyone. Sadly I don't have a lot of pictures, so I am afraid that I will have to bore you all with walls of text. If of course you are interested in seeing me scrape through Normal/Casual mode to improve my game playing ability. [spoiler=Meet the game Avatar]Alrighty then, since I am going to attempt to do this properly, I will introduce you all to my avatar for this playthrough, Chloey (*cough*who will become OP really quickly if I have my way*cough*): Don't ask for more pictures because seriously this is all I have. So if you want your own "Chloey", here is the details and build that you will need. Of course you can do whatever you like but if you want the closest you will need to follow the build below: Build: 02 Face: 04 Hair: 02 Hair Colour: 17 Voice: Female 1 Birthday: Err totally obvious :/ Oct 19th Asset: Def (To cover Chrom's lack there of defense caps for Lucina so that she gets a whopping +4 def and +2 res) Flaw: Luck (Although if you want my first ever playthrough OG Chloey Magic is the flaw here ) So now that we have the details all said and done now to the actual fun! D: What have I gotten myself into?! Heh, I hope you all know that I jest and the japes are going to flow as best as I can make them work [spoiler=The Goal]So I know that a lot of people do challenge runs on Hard Mode, but I wanted to do something different. The plain and simple goal here is to go without any units falling, whether due to them not being strong enough to take hits or getting into enemies that will lead to their deaths. Not an easy goal I can tell you! Help is going to be much appreciated. ETA: Also this goal is so that I can go to casual without feeling guilty about my tactics not working. Seriously. I have never cleared the game on normal/casual without losing units. If I do this right then we might see a normal classic run in the future. Ok, now that is all out of the way onto the playthrough itself... [spoiler=Premonition/Tutorial Chapter...:XD:]We open to the all important battle cutscene. Why is this important you ask? Well I guess it gives us three of the game's characters duking it out in a fight, although why they are fighting is initially unclear. We leave the cutscene to two characters standing together on what looks like the corner of the map...Oh boy this does not look good to me. Chrom is the first to start speaking. Is it really the final battle already? Also why are we fighting? Can someone please clarify why. Oh right, it seems that we are rebelling against some "Destiny". Oh ok well that makes some sense now...er not :/ also why do we have to kill someone? Chrom? Slide guides appear and oh, we need to move closer to the guy in the middle of the map? Ok Chrom whatever you say. The thing I find I don't like is the creepy music. Since I am past the tutorial and can pass it on any difficulty, I should be fine here and not lose the two characters. Firstly though I will have to switch off the slide guides. That done I change the interface to show stats and low and behold I can now see Chrom's stats in their full glory. Looking at the map I can't see the rest of the shepherds so I am assuming that they are all dead and Lucina and the others are in Ylisse or that there will be someone who gives her the falchion. I hover over mr Sorcerer and find out that his name is Validar. He has an attack of 34. Great. Chrom has 14 res. This is not going to end well unless...Oh right Chloey's 17 res should be useful, but we'll see. Pairing Chrom up with Chloey ort to do the trick. Chrom gives Chloey the following bonuses: +2 Str +0 Mag +1 Skill +4 Spd +4 Lck +2 Def +1 Res and lastsly +0 Mov. I switch Chloey with Chrom and Chloey gives Chrom an astounding +2 Str +2 Mag +3 Skill +3 Speed +1 Lck +1 Def +1 res and +0 Move (who is giving the most in this pair up? Chloey obviously. No wonder she turns into Grima with those sort of bonuses being ignored by Chrom A jest that I might just have fun with comparing later with their support bonuses that we get later in the game ) With is in mind, Validar will now do 19 damage? I am not sure. Chloey however allows Chrom a dual strike so I might as well use it! Validar says that we are fools trying to fight destiny and Chrom attacks and kills Validar taking a total of 19 damage. Too bad that Chrom didn't Crit Validar. That would have been fun to watch. Plus the idea of Chrom 1 shotting ol' Val seems like a good idea! Not bad for the tutorial run, but there wasn't a lot that I could do. We end with the most infamous cutscene and now we're onto chapter 1. Ugh I am so not looking forward to the fun that is to be had when we get to Invisible Ties D: really I am not. I do not want to see myself "killing" Chrom. really I don't. ETA:Due to some very helpful advice we now have pictures I am so going to have fun now!!
  2. Hello! It's my first time posting (I usually lurk) and I recently made some Fire Emblem Awakening Plushies for my etsy store. I made Chrom and Lucina (and have a half finished Chrom!Morgan and Robin) and am interested to see other people's creations! Who are your favourite characters you'd want to see in plushie form? I think from Fates I'd like to maybe make a Keaton in the future, though I suppose his ears and tail would pose a challenge at first!
  3. So I was playing through Chapter 13 of my FE:A game and had married Chrom to Maribelle. So far so good. We have Lucina introduced and Maribelle talks to her. Then something weird happens: I was under the impression that Sumia should not be there at all. Has anyone had this happen to them when they marry Chrom and Maribelle? It's just so weird. Is this an actual glitch or is Sumia meant to be there so Maribelle can show Lucina off like she said she would? Also Kaleb (M!Robin) is freaking adorable as a priest on a side note!
  4. Something I've noticed...I scanned them in the fourth time, and all of them had the Armory Shield equipped so I could have them work in the armory. I scanned Lucina last...and what I noticed was that she was in both armories...Dawn AND Dusk, in Revelations. Secondly, after multiple battles, the Amiibo never showed up again, in the armory or otherwise. And then I tried rescanning them in...at least, Marth. By this point, I had removed the accessory, and he was working another shop. It seems that the Amiibo only work in a shop ONCE after you've scanned them in, and, in order to get them to start working again, you need to re-scan that Amiibo. Does anyone else know if this is the case?
  5. I know that I have seen a post like this some where, however I am no good at math and the formula has practically left me in the dust like formulae often do. Can anyone help me work out what our lovely Lucina's stats will be? Any and all help appreciated! Chloey's current stats pre chapter 12: 78 HP| 29 Str| 31 Mag| 34 Skl| 34 Spd| 35 Lck| 42 Def| 32 Res Chrom's current stats pre chapter 12: 80 HP| 44 Str| 7 Mag| 41 Skill| 42 Spd| 46 Lck| 41 Def| 27 Res Chrom is capped in all but Res and Magic and Chloey is capped in strength. Chloey's asset is defence and her flaw is luck if that will help to work out her base stats Again thanks for helping ~TSC
  6. First Posted on FF.net several months ago, I thought perhaps I should've put this here a long time ago to perhaps get some feedback from the lovely folks of Serenes Forest. There's another chapter in the works but here's chapter one for you viewing (dis)pleasure. Anyway.... um.... Yeah, here it is! Was this really the right thing to do? Would it really save the future and her father? Lucina couldn’t very well know the answer to these questions as she followed behind Robin with as much stealth as she could muster. She didn’t know where the tactician was going, but she knew that the time to strike would have to be soon. After the revelation that Robin could be controlled by Validar came to light it seemed as though the final missing pieces of the puzzle had arranged themselves in her mind. Her father was killed one of his best friends while trying to stop the awakening of Grima at the Dragon’s Table, and one of his closest companions was undoubtedly Uncle Robin. All throughout her life, Lucina couldn’t imagine how anyone of her father’s comrades in arms could betray and kill her father. Over the past few months, she’d fought beside all the men and women of the old generation of Shepherds and grew to see their strengths, their weaknesses, their laughing, and crying, their sorrow, and their joy. Even the most unsavory members of their company had their charms and bonds within their group. So it only stood to reason that the only way her father could be killed by someone in his close circle of friends would be through means outside of that person’s control. This new information of Validar being able to control her uncle simply was too logical to ignore. With that power, the King of Plegia could force the Shepherd’s tactician to cut her father down or spear him with magic, and knowing her father he would hesitate too much to strike down a friend like that. His trust and concern for others were some of his greatest strengths and weaknesses. A lot of that nature rubbed off on her, but Lucina had grown up in a future devoid of hope and peace. A future where part of her heart had to be hardened to survive as a leader of the last remnants of humanity. It was this hardened part of her heart that led her to make this decision. She would kill Robin, the tactician of Ylisse, the Grandmaster of the Army, and the father of her cousins. How would she face everyone after she made this choice, how could she bare to look upon the faces of her comrades, her friends, her family after she proceeded with this course of action? She did not know, but she would face it all, all the anger, the grief, and the punishment if only to afford them a chance for a better future. To save her father and the entire world she would kill her father and mother’s friend, Auntie Lissa’s husband, Cynthia’s uncle, and Morgan and Owain’s father. It would be all for them and the others, and they would never forgive her for it. That was okay, she tried to tell herself as she watched Robin stop in an open field dotted with a few cherry trees, apparently to look out on the sunset. She would bear it, no matter how much she would hate herself and find the deserved judgment of others waiting for her. She would be marked a kinslayer, a murder, the slayer of a man who’d done nothing wrong except for being born a pawn of a fanatic cult. Lucina walked silently behind her Uncle, drawing her sword with little to no noise as she prepared to strike. She would make it quick, he wouldn’t feel a thing. She tried to reassure herself with this line of thought. She couldn’t be discovered, Lucina told herself as she got closer and closer. If he knew she was there Validar might choose that moment to take control and kill her before she could stop him. That was why she couldn’t look the man in his eyes as she made ready to strike him down, face him and tell him why he would have to die without his family and loved ones around him. She would give herself one more chance to make either decision, to do this or not. She quickly sprung from her hiding place and charged. With a strong blow to the head from the pommel of Falchion, Lucina knocked the tactician unconscious. He had never even known she was there, and she could’ve killed him without him even knowing what was happening. Why did she not end it all right there? She’d set out after Robin with the intention to strike him down and prevent the horrors of her future from occurring. It was a simple calculation as Laurent would say, what is the life of one man against the world? Of course Laurent would probably never approve of this course of action, Lucina would be hard-pressed to think of anyone who would. As she stood poised to strike, her sword at the ready, Lucina found herself hesitating. The blade was in her hand, the man who would become an instrument of destruction upon the world of her future defenseless. She might be able to end this and keep hope alive for this timeline. But he hadn’t done anything wrong, not yet. And as a wise man once said: “the punishment comes after the crime, not before”. This action might be prudent, but how could it be just? She’d grown up in a world without justice, without safety, without peace. Would it be justice though to deprive others in this world of these things over the fate and fortunes of one man? But it wasn’t just one man she was killing, she’d struck down innumerable people in her life as a warrior. She was preparing to kill a good man, a friend, a father, a husband, an uncle, a hero who’d saved millions; yet.... all the same, Lucina told herself Robin needed to die to save countless others that would surely die if history was allowed to take the same course. Silent tears rolled down weary eyes as she stood tall and proud as a good exalt should. Lucina had to do this, had to save the world with this one horrible action. She muttered a short prayer to Naga for the soul of her uncle, and then for her own soul as she made her final choice. With a yell she brought the blade down towards Robin’s neck, hoping to end this a quickly as she could. What she didn’t see as she closed her eyes and struck was the yellow blur of a swordmaster’s cloak. What she did hear was the clang of steel ringing on steel. Lucina opened her eyes to see the legendary sword Mercurius straining against the weight of Falchion’s blow. Equally unmistakable was the person who wielded it. With the same white hair and brown eyes of his father stood her cousin Owain. With a roar, Owain shoved back Lucina and her strike causing her to move several feet away from Robin’s prone form. Her sword was still poised to strike, but now if she was to accomplish her task Owain would have to be dealt with now. “Whatever fell sorcery that has befallen the mind of my cousin and sacred kin ends now!” The Swordmaster decreed loudly, “I was of wont to see my father but instead find my kin trying to strike him down. So speak foul spirit, who are thee and how do I break your hold on my cousin?” Lucina struggled through the words but they managed to leave her mouth all the same. “Owain no, this isn’t some trick, it’s me... There is no spell or curse upon my person. This is me.” Owain stared into her eyes for a moment and seemed to realize the truth of what she said. He knew her well enough to tell when she was speaking the truth. In fact, he probably knew from the beginning but didn’t want to believe what he was seeing. It was then her cousin’s gaze turned as cold as steel and he raised his blade ready for combat. To see him quickly change from his normal flippant mood was a bit jarring, but one didn’t survive the nightmarish future they’d come without scars. None of the normal theatrics accompanied the young prince’s motions this time. Normally when Owain felt a fight was upon him he would embellish his motions and flourish even the draw of his blade, but now the Last Ylissean swordmaster of the future was all businesses. “Why?” Was the single word that pierced the evening sky. “You’re father is the one that unwillingly kills mine and leads to Grima’s resurrection! It makes sense now, our fathers confront Validar only for him to take control of Robin and strike down Chrom. I can’t allow that to happen.” Lucina was on the verge of tears as she spoke, but refused to let them show for fear of breaking what little resolve she had built up. “This is your solution?” Owain shot back as if she was insane, “To strike someone in the back and brand yourself a kinslayer? This isn’t you Lucina, the Exalt that I know would never do something like this.” “You have to let me do this Owain! This is the last thing my heart desires, but I have to stop Grima. Please don’t make this any harder,” Lucina pleaded, her voice nearly cracking as her hands gripped the sword of heroes like a vice “If fate is to be changed, sacrifices have to be made... I know that this is murder... I know that-” “Save your breath,” Owain interrupted, his own face showing deep anguish mixed with grim determination, “Nothing you can say will convince me this is the right course of action. I cannot and will not allow you to harm my father, not while I still draw breath!” “I... I can’t let you stop me.” Lucina prepared her blade in salute, doubt and worry plaguing her mind as she did so. "Then, you will have to go through me, for I shall not let you pass." There was no going back now, steel would have to speak instead of words. Lucina struck first, Owain was faster than she, and to let him have the momentum of this encounter would be a mistake. A left slash was tried but failed as the two ancient blades clashed in the dying light of the sun. With a clang the two grappled together, both swordsmen were now straining to gain leverage over one another. The situation worked to Lucina’s advantage actually, for while the swordmaster was faster than her, she was stronger and ever so slightly began to force her way through Owain’s defenses. Sparks flew where the blades met, as the ancient magics of these two holy weapons clashed against each other. Black blade clashed upon white as the air around them seemed to grow heavy and stale, and the wind began to blow harshly through the trees that surrounded this clearing. “I don’t understand this.” Lucina heard her cousin say as both struggled to gain the advantage, “You were the best us even when the whole world went to hell, just stop and come to your senses already!” “I will not give up now, my path is set and I cannot turn back!” Lucina wasn’t sure if she was trying to convince herself or Owain as she spoke, but regardless she managed to throw Owain off balance and open for attack. The swordmaster was nearly flung backward onto the floor, and Lucina was prepared to strike him. However, the slash was slower than it could’ve been, as Lucina fought with her conscience even now. While at the same time she tried to work out how best to subdue her cousin, and thought perhaps the best idea would be to first disarm him. However, the moment of hesitation was all Owain needed to strike back. With practiced balance and agility, he quickly regained his footing and parried away Lucina’s blow. In that moment her momentum was gone as Owain quickly began a series of whirlwind slashing attacks. With her shield, Lucina managed to absorb most of the blows though a few were near things that might’ve ended this duel. Lucina had seen Mercuris’ famed power and strength on the field of battle before and was not eager to see its power brought to bear against her armor and flesh. As the faster of the two swordsmen, Owain was now controlling the flow of battle, and Lucina was in a dangerous position of having of reacting rather than acting. However as it ever was even in the days when they were children playing at knights and mages Lucina’s defense was impenetrable to Owain’s swift attacks. At least, that’s what she liked to believe. That was not entirely true as some of her cousin’s attacks hit home and struck off pieces of armor, cutting into her skin. She’d not won all their duels and sparring matches, there was always narrow (if clear) divide between the skill of the two. This fight was something different, this was no practice match between comrades, no friendly match observed by teachers or friends. There was no mistaking both were fighting with everything they had, both determined to win like no battle either had ever fought before. For a moment, Lucina caught a glimpse of Owain’s eyes and they seemed to burn with fury tempered with an iron will. He was fighting for his father too, Lucina realized sadly, but this had to be done for all of them. As she defended against the veritable tornado of attacks Lucina kept her eyes open looking for that opening that could give her the chance to go on the offensive. She found it after what must’ve been the twelfth attack she'd blocked or dodged. Owain had stepped just a little too far forward trying to give his swing more momentum; most fighters wouldn’t be able to take advantage of such a small mistake, but Lucina was not most fighters. She carefully plotted the movements of her feet, stepping just far back enough to dodge but close enough to still attack. As the swing of Mercurius cut the air so close she could feel lit Lucina slammed the pommel of her sword into Owain’s gut. He gasped as the wind was knocked right out of him and stumbled back in pain. Lucina took this chance and cut through Owain’s armor across his right shoulder. Her cousin let out a cry of pain as blood began to flow from the wound. It seemed that rather than convince him to stop it only convinced Owain to make his attacks even faster. Lucina heard the word “Astra” yelled out and then the assault began. Before she could raise her shield or counter with Falchion Owain rained blow after blow upon the princess. From everywhere at once the strikes seemed to come and several wounds formed themselves on her arms and a few on her torso. This would not stop Lucina though, as Owain tried to deliver a downward finishing blow she thrust her blade into his lower chest area. His armor prevented mortal wounds but a new gash of blood opened as proof Owain had been wounded. He grunted in pain and his attack was stopped cold. Lucina resumed the offensive in this fight and struck hard; though Owain's superior agility made landing hits difficult, she pressed the attack if only to try and end this before one of them ended up dead at the other’s hand. Already she could feel the dull pain of her wounds beginning to overcome adrenaline and willpower, how long would it be before Owain could no longer fight? Even so, through the pain and her own nagging heart Lucina fought for the right to kill her uncle. It seemed so wrong when she thought about it that way, she and her cousin were fighting tooth and nail because she wanted to murder his father. As Lucina slashed down again only to have her blade met with Owain’s she try to hold on to why she was fighting why she had to commit this act of evil. She remembered the barren wastes the world had been reduced to, the starvation and suffering of her people, of the nights when Ylisstol burned and it’s people were slaughtered like cattle. She would prevent that no matter the cost. “Please! I have to do this! For everything and everyone in this world!" Lucina tried to reason. “Exactly! For everyone, we came back to this time to save everyone, and that includes my father! I refuse to believe this is the only option! I saw that same future you did, I saw the same atrocities! But I cannot accept this as our only option!” Again they struggled and pushed and strived and yelled as dark clouds began to cover the dying sun. Again the blade lock was broken and again another furious round of blocks and strikes began. Left and right, up and down, low and high, weapons met in a flurry of sparks and steel. The storm of swords moves so fast it seems almost a blur to both combatants, Lucina moved primarily on instinct rather than thought as sword and shield combined to try and hold off the faster blows of her opponent. When she saw her chance Lucina charged forward with a shield bash that knocked Owain back and seemed to cause him no small amount of pain. The white haired warrior stumbled backward several feet, standing just a small distance from where his father lay prone. Owain was breathing heavily and with unsteady rhythm and his wounds looked to be taking a toll. It was no easier on Lucina either, her blue cloth and armor was shattered and stained red in many places. For now, adrenaline and willpower kept those things at bay, but for how much longer? From the trees, the cherry blossoms of spring were beginning to fly in the wind as the last light of day beat upon this sorry scene. It seemed there would be one more exchange of blows this day, though, for even as blood stained his clothes and his breaths became ragged her cousin stood between her and his father. One last time Lucina tried to end this without more violence, perhaps this could stop before she stained her hands with more blood. “You have to give up! Please put down your sword!” Lucina cried as her own wounds flared up in pain, and more and more the walls she built around her emotions crumbled away bit-by-bit. Her response was a shake of a head and a spit on the ground. “I won’t let you make Morgan fatherless again! I won’t let you turn my mother into a widow! May I be damned to seven hells if I yield now! If you want to kill my father you’ll have to kill me first!” Owain’s eyes still burned with passion and zeal, even if his body was battered his spirit was as strong as ever. “I don’t want to do this!” Lucina was begging now, even as she knew there was only one way this was going to end. “Then you yield! For though death may claim me and my body be torn to dust, I will not surrender! Not now, not ever!” The white-haired and wild hearted swordsman decreed, brave and as courageous as Lucina had ever known him. The sun began to roll down the hills into the west as the petals drifted in the wind. Lucina gripped Falchion tightly as she screamed internally. They both stood still for a few moments, aching from their wounds and their hearts screaming at this prospect of fighting like this. But minds were set and there was no going back now. They both ran at each other, determined to make this the final clash of blades upon this field of battle. As the two rushed towards each other with all speed two words filled the air as the cherry blossoms and their petals fluttered in the wind. Raw emotion threatened to boil over in Lucina as her mind raced over memories of family poured over her. As she made ready to strike down Owain she couldn’t help but think of the times their family had those small moments of peace and happiness. All of which seemed so far away after all they’d seen. She could see in that swordmaster’s eyes the same boy who’d asked her to teach him how to fight, and Lucina wondered if he could still see the same girl that would rein in the schemes of him and his Justice Cabal. The Princess-Exalt doubted that very much as magical energy swirled around the two of them and their blades met with a clang and a shout. “INGIS!” “AETHER!" In this moment, sound and time seemed to become nothing. There were only two warriors, two family members, two good people fighting each other for those they loved. Magical energy coursed all around the two as their most powerful techniques collided. They seemed to glow with energy and power as they struggled against each other. The very ground seemed to shake and the wind whipped up wildly as if under a storm. There was an explosion, and a huge cloud of smoke appeared shrouding the area for few moments. Then out from that cloud tumbled the body of the defeated warrior. They were thrown aback and slid several feet into the dirt with grave injuries. Their opponent was still on their feet, no less damaged but with still with strength let to finish what they’d started. ‘It’s done.’ Lucina thought morosely, as she turned back to where Robin still lay peacefully on the ground. But as she took labored step after step, she once again she found Owain standing between her and her target. The Sword-Prince’s face was caked with dirt and his armor had splotches of blood dripping to the ground. He could not even stand properly, and was leaning on his sword planted in the ground as he struggled to one knee. Through his wounds and pain he remained as defiant as ever, that same burning passion normally expressed in flowery words now focused towards continuing this fight. Desperate to stop the fight before it got any worse Lucina begged again, this time sheathing her blade for good measure. “You cannot win this fight! I beg of you stand down!” Lucina was sobbing now between her words, still clinging to some small hope she would not have to kill two people this day. Though blood reddened eyes and labored breaths the voice of Owain tore through the skies. “My fist clenches... with the fury of a volcano... Owain son of Lissa... will never yield, never stand still...” The white haired warrior vowed this as he struggled to get back on his feet. Lucina could feel the tears stream down her face now. As blood, dirt, and tears ran down her body Lucina could not believe her eyes as Owain once more took to his feet. His legs were buckling and arms were shaking but still he stood. With a wordless battle cry, Owain stumbled more than rushed her with his sword swung wildly. Lucina was surprised herself at how easy it was to sidestep that blow, but even as she moved back Owain tried again. This time, it was simple to both dodge and disarm her cousin, who struck widely and slowly with the last of his might. Lucina acted on instinct as her right hand grasped the handle of Mercurius while her left elbow slammed into Owain’s gut. With all the force she could muster she tore the blade out of his hands and flung it off to the side. The yellow-clad Shepherd finally collapsed onto the ground gasping for pain as the wind was knocked out of him to compound the pain from his injuries. At last, it looked to be over, like so many times on the practice field Lucina was the one left standing while Owain lay defeated on his back. Only this time, there would be no handshakes, no congratulations, no tips or suggestions exchanged. With the last of his strength, Owain pulled himself up onto his knees, and Lucina could only watch in silence as he dragged himself between her and Robin. He was no threat any longer, but still with as much will as he could muster, Owain craned his head up to look his foe in the eye. “It's- it’s not over yet.” As he said this he met Lucina’s stare with a steely calm that proclaimed he meant that to his core. He was without a weapon, he was bleeding from a dozen different wounds, and he was outmatched in skill and strength. Yet still he refused to give in, still he struggled to balance on legs with serious injuries, still trying to fight with a body that was nearly broken. But for all his effort eventually the swordmaster fell prone to the ground, and all he could do now was try and hold his head high till the very end; like a true warrior even in defeat. It was done, this contest of arms was over, but now the far more difficult task had to be undertaken. Wordlessly she sidestepped Owain’s fallen form to where Robin lay, who in contrast to Lucina and Owain looked absolutely peaceful as he lay on the ground. Lucina deliberated every step she took as she moved to finally finish the task she had set out to do. There was nothing in her way now except her own conscience. Like an executioner at the square Lucina moved solemnly, physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted with a million thoughts clouding her mind. With so few words and a river of tears, Lucina pointed her blade at the ground, ready at last to deliver the final blow. Except she wasn’t. Perhaps it was the blood loss and the lightheadedness that was beginning to overtake her, but there was a tremble in her arms that would not go away. Whether or not it was a mistake Lucina’s gaze passed over Owain one more time. He bore wounds that were grave indeed and blood spilled onto the floor from a dozen cuts through his armor. Yet for all this what struck her most was his gaze, still burning with determination, but with nothing resembling hate, she was trying to kill his father, she had dealt him grievous wounds, but still he was possessed of that same kindness that is found in so few. Seeing this all, something inside the princess cracked and horror filled her very soul. She had turned her blade against her family, her friend, her comrade in arms, she was preparing to kill her uncle for nothing he had yet done. These things she knew before, but the gravity of it all now seemed to be too much. All at once it was if a dam of emotion, pain, and grief burst within Lucina and she fell to her knees sobbing. Falchion clattered onto the ground as Lucina struggled through pain and tears without success. Words tried to come of her mount but it appeared all Lucina could do was blubber almost incoherently through her hands which clasped her face. “I’m sorry, Oh gods- I’m so sorry! Please I didn’t- I never-” Owain looked like he was mumbling something but Lucina didn’t hear any of it, for soon the pain of her wounds and the mental turmoil of the day proved too much for her. Soon she was falling on the ground with her eyes listless and closing rapidly. Without so much as another word the Exalt landed with a thud, and quickly after her mind followed her body into inaction. Suddenly Lucina felt more tired and exhausted than she’d ever felt before, and in spite of all her willpower felt consciousness fade, and before long the entire world turned to blackness and the Exalt-Princess was out cold on the ground. Well, I'll have a feedback topic up soon, I think... So... thoughts anyone? Give feedback wherever you like, but please don't be afraid to praise or condemn my work! I want to hear people's thoughts more than anything! (Man that sounded desperate and terrible...)
  7. So, after taking a long break from Awakening (since August 2015) I've decided to pick up the game again. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna play on Normal just to breeze through the game, or go through Hard as a warmup for the higher difficulties. Now comes the problem of pairing everyone and planning everything. I decided to have change some things up, like certain pairings and use some of my less used characters more. Don't have dlc. First of all, the Avatar. I plan on going with a MaMU with the name Camus. I am going to have him end up as a Paladin and marry Cordelia. I only know he will have Luna and Aegis. No plan on asset/flaw and other things. Also, does anyone know what hair color looks the most like FE11's Camus' hair color (or Sirius)? With Cordelia I'm probably have her finish as a Falcon Knight. Seeing how I'm not doing an optimal run, I thought about running Sol/Armsthrift/Galeforce/Lancefaire/Bowbreaker. Thoughts? I plan on having Severa and Morgan end up as Bowknight and Hero, not being set on who gets which class. They will inherit Galeforce and Luna. Ideas for other abilities? How I wish Bowknight was better, but I'll still use it. My biggest change will be pairing up Chrom with Sully. I rarely use Kjelle, even though I like her, and this will fix that issue. As mentioned earlier, I don't plan on having this run be optimal. I will keep Kjelle as a General, even though they suck, and have her inherit Aegis. Since I plan on having fun I might run something like Pavise/Aegis/Aether/Deliverer/Astra. I know Donnel gives her Galeforce, but I'm limiting my Galeforce use. For Lucina I thought about Aether/Rightful King/Aegis/Swordfaire. Not sure what her last skill would be. Thinking about Vantage/Lethality/Lancebreaker/Astra. For the remaining characters I'll go with pairings I like, and the parents of children I'm not interested in will be paired with who's left. Going to list my current pairings below. Open for changes, either because the children will suck or the pairing isn't that great. Lissa-Vaike (I want a blonde Swordmaster Owain) Tharja-Gaius (Nearly always go with this) Nowi-Kellam (Great support, tank Nah) Sumia-Stahl (I like this pairing, plus Stahl seems to work with a lot of children) Cherche-Gregor (Funny support) Olivia-Lon'qu (Great pairing) Brady, Yarne and Laurent I don't care about. Might go Miriel-Ricken so I get another magic user. I also thought Olivia-Frederick and then have Lissa-Lon'qu. Still debating on it. I'll worry about the children as the game progresses. Feel free to leave ideas for them though. That was a long post. Thanks for any help in advance though. In the meantime I'll try to figure out the optimal for my wannabe Camus MU.
  8. Hey, I figured I'd try something different and do a let's play. Sadly I lack the gear currently to screenshot or record 3DS games, so this will have to be all text. But I'm a fairly good writer, so I'm hoping this'll be worthwhile to read anyway. Figured out how to do screenshots. I'm going to be doing what I call Fire Emblem STEAM. I'm going to play through the story mode of Intelligent Systems' latest game (for the west anyway), Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., and I'm going to do it entirely with the fire emblem characters whenever possible. Now, since I hate most of the color changes characters take on (and all of the amiibo ones) when you retry a mission, I'm going to be going through each of these missions on a fresh file, first run, so there will be mandatory party members I'll have to let tag along for certain missions and drop one of my amiibos for (*cough* Ike *cough*), and missions 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 will be done without amiibos since they're not available at that point. Scratch that, turns out those color changes are only for challenge modes, which I won't be doing. I'll be playing through every level of the game using just those four units. I'll be honest, while I vow to stick with this as long as I can, I don't know if I'll be able to see this through to the end, or if it's even possible. Being locked to a specific party that lacks access to three crucial gameplay elements (a halfway decent overwatch attack, a healing weapon, and a weapon capable of hitting weakpoints on big enemies) just seems incredibly limiting. What's more, the amiibo units... vary... drastically... in terms of quality, and even the best ones don't last long against the final boss due to a special strategy involving tanks and healing seeming to be pretty much required from my limited experience fighting it. If anybody has any advice for me I'd appreciate it. Also, while I may go back on this later, for now I plan to try and do this without using save points, and refusing to reset until I get a game over. I had a tendency to play through the game on fire emblem instinct, resetting the moment somebody was defeated, and I think it would be fun to exploit the fact that this is the one strategy game where you can play as fire emblem characters that don't suffer from permadeath, and see what kind of exciting down-to-the-wire struggles I can find myself in. I'm not going for score, I'm aiming for just winning. I'll skip gears unless they're basically free to grab, and I won't care about medals unless I later decide to use save points. I'm going to skip talking about the first set of missions since that's going to be standard fare, nothing unique or interesting there. So the first entry you'll see of this will be mission 2. Again, change of plans, I'll be starting on chapter 1.
  9. Summary: What if Robin/Avatar had woken up in a different timeline? What if he had woken up in the dire future of despair that the children came from? Could destiny be changed once again or would he fail this time? -Feel free to review by PMing me :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prologue: Premonition ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "This is it! Our final battle," he told her determined. "You seem anxious. I've never seen you like this," She responded to him surprised. It was true. They had been through a lot together, and in that time he never expressed any sign of nervousness. He was always calm, smooth, collective, and ready for battle. This time he looked different, as if something was troubling him. "It's because everything has led up to this moment. Everything we've done, all our hard work, and our struggles. They are what got us right here, right now," Robin said with a serious tone. "I can't afford any more losses. Much like I can't stand losing you." She smiled. "We've faced so many things together, so I think you should know by now that I can watch my back. Right?" "Yes, I know. It's just that, I would never forgive myself if something happened to you tonight." He looked straight in her beautiful eyes. In those two pools he saw his own reflection, and the best out of himself. "Neither would I, if anything happened to you. Do you remember the plan?" She asked him seriously. "Of course. I created it after all." "Right, and this is like the Valley. Risen had us surrounded, we were outnumbered and alone." She pointed to what she could see in front of them. It was getting dark, and there was no sun to light the way while Risen covered the land that expanded before them. They couldn't even see the grass beneath the zombie horde, only the dark gray sky and the burned trees were visible. "No, the Valley differs from now." "How's that? I see no difference," she asked him curious. "Ehmm… because of this." He pressed towards her, and she couldn't help but feel the adrenaline of her heart when he put his lips on hers. She felt so protected and joyful, because she had someone right by her side. Someone she knew that had stolen her heart and would do anything for her to smile. Her blood flowed rapidly in her cheeks, making them as red as ever. He put his hands around her waist and she put hers around his neck, pulling him closer. "We should focus on our mission, we're about to start the battle. Did you forget that?" She told him in a slightly bossy tone while pushing him away, but she was unable to hide her excitement and her rosy cheeks. "I did." He replied with a broad smile, like she hadn't yelled at him. "Although, when this is over, I have prepared a small surprise for you." She nodded and asked, "Really? Then, shall we go ahead so I can see it later?" "Yes. Tell the others to guide our forces towards the enemy. We must focus on entering the castle. It's your job to tell us how to get in, and with our new weaponry, we have a chance of winning." "I know. Tonight, we will write a new future for Ylisse." "Together." He told her confidently and held her hand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And so the battle began. The zombie fighters rushed at them with a vicious aura. They couldn't listen or feel. They could only see their enemy in front of their eyes. That was their mission, to kill with no remorse of their actions. That was why the fell dragon was so powerful. Although he had great power himself, his army was the one that terrorised the countless cities it found in its path. Did that mean they were better than humans? Of course not. Although their enhanced battle abilities and skills were something to notice, they lacked human's skills like improvising, insight and the two most important ones, compassion and supportiveness for each other. Those skills, unheard to Risen, made the remains of humanity gather and forge a team with one goal in mind, the fall of the fell dragon, once and for all. In this battle, that dream was about to become real after all those years of pain and slaughter. It was the time for the sun to rise, and for the long period of peace to begin. The man, followed by his beloved one, found a path that guided them and their selected forces inside Ylisstol's castle. The building was the key for them to open the door to a bright new world. At least, that was what they thought as he looked around the room. They had just gotten in, but he told them to stay alert for anything. "What is it? You looked troubled," she asked him worried. "I don't know. This is way too easy. It was never that easy," Robin responded concerned. Right then, they heard a huge noise from outside. The man quickly turned around to see what was going on. Unfortunately, in that moment their forces were surrounded by Risen. He couldn't understand what was going on, but before he could even think, he was knocked out from behind. The last thing he remembered before closing his eyes was his beloved one and the feeling of extreme disappointment. He had failed her, something he swore never to do. He awoke disoriented and confused when he slowly opened his eyes. He tried looking around to get his bearings and unconsciously moved his hand only to find that it was tied tight to a metallic chair. With a quick look around the room, he saw nothing but a dim light from a candle nearby. At once, he tried to think of ways to get out of this condition. Alas, the metallic chair was bolted to the ground so he couldn't break it. His hands and legs were also tied with a plastic-like cord making it impossible to move. Not to mention that he seemed very weak. Unable to find an idea to escape, he waited there looking towards the candle's light, and smelling its wax scent. All he could do now was worry about his friends and his love, about their failure, and about the person who betrayed them. Suddenly, he heard noises of footsteps. Then, the sound of a door cringing open. Before he knew it, a man appeared before him, holding another candle and a knife. "Thank goodness! Hurry! Cut the ropes and let's save our men! Hope isn't lost yet!" The man in front of him laughed sarcastically. "Your plan failed tactician. We've been holding you here for a while now. The battle was lost before it started, and there is nothing you can do anymore." "What?… We? It was YOU! You hit me from behind! You… Traitor! How could you? We trusted you! I trusted you!" He tried to move in a fury but he couldn't. "I am definitely going to enjoy this. You are alive because I ordered them not to kill you. You know, for old times' sake, but I came here with a deal. You will tell us where you are keeping it. You kept that secret for yourself and-" "Don't speak her name!" He cried furiously as his face reddened in anger. Robin moved his body with rage to escape, only to be stopped a third time by his ties. "Haha! I won't. I was so close, but so far away. You lied about its place. It wasn't where I thought it was. Tell me where the real one is and I will grant you a place right next to lord Grima." "I prefer to die before I help you! Snake!" He spat at his face using the only way to attack he could think of. However, the man wiped it away from his eye and continued like nothing had happened. "Don't worry I am not in hurry. I have all the time I need. I finally defeated you! Could I ask for more?" "Arrrgggghhh!" It was a female scream. One he recognised immediately. "NO! What are you doing to her? You crazy psychopath! Tell me, damn it!" "You will tell me where you hid it! Or she will die. I will slaughter her in front of you, but if you comply then I will let you keep her head! Haha!" The man laughed evilly. "Now, tell me where you hid it!" Robin was lost in thought. He had no other choice but to comply. "Tell me Sir Robin. How did everything begin? Tell me everything you know or she will suffer." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fire Emblem: The Man That Never Was Prologue-Premonition ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A/N (Author's Note): Hello everybody :) This story was created to become something completely new, based on the characters we all love (from Awakening) and maybe answer in some interesting questions, like "Can Robin change the fate of a doomed world?, Can love be found in such place?" Well... I believe there is only one way to find out :P This prologue is a bit shorter on purpose to smoothly proceed into the main story. Please don't mind any grammatical errors. No copyright intended. Until next time! Please have yourselves a darn good one :D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ J.D. 10. :Roy:Well... I've been thinking about what FE smash character is the best. I vote Roy. Who do you think is the best?
  11. I'm currently on my 4th playthrough and am undecided on who to marry between Lucina, Say'ri or Tiki. I know none of them give you an additional child, but I would still like marrying one of them. How does each of them do as Morgan's mother? Any specific asset/flaw depending on who you marry? How would Morgan turn out? Things to pass down? There's a poll, so vote on whoever you've had the most experience. Playing on hard-classic.
  12. .... or do they function like Einherjar in Awakening once recuirted.
  13. So since we now have yet another Fire Emblem character with a cape my interest in the cape designs made me want to make a video on it but when I did some research I did not find that much information so I'd like to ask you guys what some of these symbols/insignias are if they have any meaning at all. I will also add the information in this topic. Marth's The symbol of the Archanea nation. Ike's Greil Mercenaries. Roy's Elibe's Fire Emblem. Lucina's Mark Of Naga. Two Nagas. Three Grima eyes. I hope someone knows what these symbols are supposed to represent! (Also sorry if there is already a post like this I created this account today for the purpose of posting this thread)
  14. Pretty hilarious stuff you find on the interwebz now in days. Explicit words consider yourself warned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4LYB302gyk&spfreload=10
  15. Quick Summary: This story is set after the events of Fire Emblem : Awakening. The male Avatar/David faces a new threat far greater than he or anyone could ever imagine. Will he be consumed by the upcoming darkness or will the light inside him prevail? ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________ Many historians, poets, and bards did their best to recount David's deed's, though everyone agreed though in one thing . . . ____________________________________________________________________________________ Prologue: "The End's Beginning" ____________________________________________________________________________________ He was silent. In front of him he saw himself, lying powerless on the beast's body. "David", corrupted by Grima, the fell dragon. Then instantly he listened to Naga's voice once again … "If Chrom takes the final blow, Grima will be put in another 1000 years slumber. But in order for Grima to vanish permanently, you David must deliver the final hit." … "That's how I died in the future. My conscious was taken over by him. My emotions weren't strong enough to resist the dark inside me" he thought. "David don't do it! You can't" Chrom shouted, in a desperate try not to lose his best friend. David, Ylisse' s Tactician, remained silent. He looked around him. Then, he was staring at a particular person. ____________________________________________________________________________________ "Your highness, my prince! I am afraid I must deliver bad news! " the messenger said. He looked terrified. "What is it, hierarch? You look shocked." Chrom replied. "Ylisstol my prince, it … it has fallen sir. " "It can't be… David! We must think of a new plan now!" the prince ordered. "No way…" David shed a tear. "Its … my fault, Chrom, Emmeryn … I am sorry … How many were lost ?" The tactician was shocked by the news. Who wouldn't? Houses were torn apart and others were burned, only to become nothing more but ashes. "More than a thousand sir, I am afraid. Including some of our finest pegasus knights". David couldn't forgive himself. This marked his first failure as a tactician. He wasn't thinking straight and of course he blamed himself for this. The rest Shepherds lowered their heads. "My lady… I… I am-" He barely could speak. When Chrom had found him unconscious in the valley, he saw David's potential as a tactician. It was David's duty to protect him, but he failed today and miserably. "There is no need to apologise David, everything will go fine. I must go back to Ylisstol. I must help my people. Chrom you should take care of the Fire Emblem. Huh?" Suddenly, they saw a white pegasus flying above them. The rider gently hit the pegasus with their boot, as an order for the mythical creature to land. The rider rushed at the exalt. "My lady I will deliver bad ne-" the rider tried to speak, but Emmeryn told her to stop. "I already know. The hierarch told us." Emmeryn replied. "But how my lady ? I was the only survivor of the pegasus knights… I was the only one to flee." They seemed confused. A wave of wyvern riders appeared in the horizon. They knew Emmeryn was there and had the Fire Emblem with her. "Oh no …." Emmeryn's eyes revealed her fear. "I am sorry my exalt. They told me that they would kill me." The hierarch said. "That's how you knew the news before me!" The rider said. In a blink of an eye, the hierarch started running away and escaped. "Hey! How would you betray us? Come back here, coward!" Chrom shouted out of anger. "David, Shepherds, everyone we must stand by for battle!" The battle was indeed rough, but quick. Vasto the Plegian's wyvern rider forces commander was exceptionally skilled and had a well trained army. In the end though, the Shepherds won thanks to David's great tactics, Chrom's battle instinct and the pegasus knight's skill. Some of them were injured, but Lissa' s and Maribelle' s staff took care of them. David then went to thank the pegasus rider. "My I couldn't be more thankful for your help …" David tried to learn the knight's name. "Oh, Cordelia! My name is Cordelia". She pulled her helmet off her head. David was astonished by her beauty. Cordelia had long straight red hair, white as snow skin and beautiful red eyes. "There is no need to thank me. Your tactics brought us the victory". David could barely speak. "Is everything okay ?" She asked. David blushed. "Yeah sorry I just remembered I need to talk to Chrom". A quick excuse for him to leave and stop embarrassing himself. He wasn't very good with women. He was always anxious around them. He thought they found him boring. Alongside his memories, the feeling of love was forgotten as well. A feeling that he remembered today. ____________________________________________________________________________________ "David! There must be another way! I won't lose my best friend! I beg you... Please!" Chrom was desperately trying to convince David not to kill Grima. David remained silent. His other self was unconscious, lying on the floor. He was still unsure what to do. Then, he listened a familiar voice. "David ! When you proposed me, you made me the happiest woman on earth. I want to keep you close to me for the rest of our days. David I love you! I need you! Don't you turn your back at me!" "Cherry this for your own good." He liked to call her "Cherry" as her signature red hair reminded him cherries as well as her scent. The scent of his woman was, for him, priceless. "For the good of our children." he continued. "I … I don't want be responsible for the death of more people, even if they die 1000 years from now. I can destroy him once and for all. You, Severa, Morgan can finally have a good life, you can shape a world that I will have ensured that is safe. I don't want you to live in fear anymore. I don't want any other future Severa or Morgan to lose their parents, or their beloved ones. He started crying. "I … I love you too much… Sorry, but I hope one day you will understand." "Nooo! What are you doing! You fool. Stop!" Severa shouted. "Dad … I know I wasn't the most loveable daughter … I only want us to be a family once and for all. Please … you promised me that you'll stay with me!" She stayed close to her mother. Her legs were shaking, she couldn't bare the stress of losing her father once again. "I'm sorry if I hurt you with my manners, I'll change!" She shouted out of desperation. "Father! No… You mean everything to me… Don't do it. Chrom Hurry!" Morgan shouted. Chrom, though, stood still, listening to them. His family was crying. They begged him to stay. He broke his silence once again, with tears running down his cheeks : " I am sorry everyone. Don't worry, I will always be close to you. You see … we are all connected with the bonds we forged together! I will forever be close to you as long as I live in your heart. This is the most mystical and powerful spell of all, love. I hope I will return. Cordelia, my children, Chrom… Everyone… It was an honour to meet you, thank you for everything, I just hope you understand. Farewell…" His hand became a powerful source of light. He then listened to his family's and friends' voice for one last time. He pointed his hand to Grima. "As long as my bonds with my beloved ones are strong, you will never corrupt me… This is a checkmate Grima!". A white beam, coming from his hand, hit Grima. The light was so strong that no one could see what was happening. When they could finally see, they stood in the ground, David, though, was nowhere to be found. What remained was the dragon's bones. Everyone mourned David's apparent death. Chrom, when he stopped, was the first to speak. "Don't cry everyone! David was right! He is and will always be in our hearts! And… And…" he became excited at this point. 'As Naga said, David might be somewhere out there. Our bonds must be strong enough to keep him alive. I will find him, even if it takes the rest of my life, I will find you David! Do you hear me? I will create a better world. A world which you gave us." He wasn't afraid for his friend's luck anymore. He was sure that David was alive and he was determined to find him. It was Cordelia's turn to speak. "Chrom is right! We will find you David. I will find you my love." Cordelia's and Chrom's words brought hope into each of the Shepherds' heart. Everyone was sure that David was lying somewhere, hoping to be found. "David! Do you hear me! You better stay alive! " Sully said. Each part of the team swore to find David. Everyone had hope except Severa. She was shocked, again. Something changed inside her that night. She decided that she should change and become a better person. A person that her father would want her to be. Her heart seemed that would never be cured from this incident. Inside her she was feeling the pain. The pain that she felt when her parents died in the first time. This time it was different, though. She didn't blame herself, she didn't want to blame anyone. She wanted to abandon her old self. She didn't want any more pain and that meant to change. Morgan, on the other hand, never stopped believing that her father survived. It was Chrom's words that gave her strength and hope. Was her bonds with her father strong enough? She was sure that this was the case. ____________________________________________________________________________________ One year later... ____________________________________________________________________________________ Chrom approached a wonderful house, built alongside nature. It had a large beautiful garden filled with trees, bushes and flowers. It was certain that someone had devoted themselves to it. Chrom stopped walking and remained still. He took a deep breath. "Aaah… There is nothing better than life at nature. The fresh air is all I need," he thought. Living in a castle was surely a rough thing for Chrom, as he rarely went out. He had become really responsible and worked hard. He was Ylisse's Halidom exalt after all and he had done a great job restoring peace and uniting all the kingdoms. Finally, he knocked the door. "Good morning Crodelia!" he said. "How are you? Morgan is coming as well in a few minutes. May I come in?" he continued. "Of course my lo- ehm, Of course Chrom! Its been a while since you've visited me. Has Morgan been any helpful?" She asked. "Haha. Well its always a pleasure to visit the leader of our Pegasus Knights Squadron. Indeed, Morgan has proved to be quite the tactician. With her help, we've finally brought peace to our country. She helped with the "Treaty of Ylisstol" and with her genuis thinking we have eliminated at least 90% of the bandits that once burned villages and destroyed the homes of thousands, including the infamous "Twins". He talked with passion for Cordelia's daughter. "She is undeniably David's kid". Cordelia shed a tear. "He would have been proud," she said. "Get inside! Severa has already come and waited for you. She had something to ask you," she said. Chrom definitely felt guilty at this point. He had tried finding David with no luck. He was convinced that he was gone. He had to stop searching though, as it had been an expensive task (buying equipment, feeding the paladin's horses, etc.), but he always missed his old friend. He got into the house. Cordelia had done a great work with the place. Everything was in order. The chairs, the paintings, the vases, everything. She was a perfectionist after all. Chrom took a seat. "Food will be ready in any minute". Cordelia said. "How's Sumia and the kids?" "They are quite fine thank you! Lucina is getting better at her sword technique and I believe she is ready to become the head general of our army. Cynthia… Well… Cynthia is as always cheerful, clumsy, but exceptional with a lance. She had a great teacher after all…" Cordelia smiled. She heard footsteps. It was Severa. "Hey … Chrom". She was speaking with an aggressive tone. "Why? You had vowed to find him. Don't you remember that?" "Of course and I remember. Severa I had to. You were right, our bonds weren't as strong as I thought. But he will alw-" "Nonsense! I was wrong. I want to be wrong. You were his friend. Find him! I can't take it anymore, Chrom. Life's became a pain." She was crying. Her tears broke Chrom's heart. "Honey! Its alright…" Cordelia gave her a hug. Severa put her head on Cordelias shoulder. She was unable to control her emotions. "Don't worry. I haven't lost my faith." She said. "We haven't searched Valm yet. Sorry Chrom. She hasn't got over it yet. Honey, sit down. You know it's unfair talking to Chrom like this. He is our king and our friend. You know he tried his best". Severa nodded her head. "I am sorry Chrom. It's just hard for me… Its like the old days." "Hey! It is hard for everyone. I live everyday with the burden that I could have saved him. I know. But you know as well how much your exceptional sword skills are needed by the Shepherds," he said. He tried changing subject, because he always felt uncomfortable talking about David. His order, to stop searching for him was hard for everyone. "But I thought the war was over," she seemed confused. "Yes it is. But we must always be prepared for anything that might occur. Should I send Cynthia to come and pick you tomorrow for training?" He needed Severa's talent. She could easily beat anyone, but Chrom or Lucina with her sword. She always believed that falchion was the reason of their win. The Shepherds hadn't change. They only became more experienced and famous across the land, as they were the king's best crew. A crew that slew the fell dragon. A crew that united Ylisse. Severa had always being rejecting his proposal, because she spent most of her time searching the lands for her father. This time though she felt that it was time to reunite with her friends and fight, if needed, alongside them. "Thanks Chrom. I believe its time for me to say yes. With one condition, though. Promise me that you will continue searching. Promise me!" "Okay. I will. So I'll tell Cynthia to come here at the dawn. Thank you Severa. Your sister needed you. As a matter of fact, where is Mo-" he stopped talking as he heard a loud sound. "Craaaack!" Something definitely broke. They went to see what happened. They got out of the house, only to find Morgan laying down next to the broken, of course, white fence. Immediately, they helped her get up. "Damn it Morgan!" Severa shouted. "It took me a while to make that fence. Now I got to-" Morgan interrupted her. "Mum, Chrom, Sister! He's back!" She was ecstatic. Her face was shining brightly. It was the happiest day of her life. Anyone could tell. And she had quite a smile. The red haired tactician continued. "I've found him Mum! After a year of searching. Dad is alive!". Everyone was shocked by the news. "Could it be?" Cordelia asked. Severa, on the other, started again crying, not from sadness but from joy, this time. An emotion she had long to feel. Chrom was chuffed to bits as well. "Where is he?" he asked nervously. "Ta - da !" Morgan said cheerfully. A man approached them. He had brown hair, seemed muscular and (of course) wore a black and golden robe. He was speechless. He finally saw his family again. Cordelia rushed at him. "Dave… I thought I wouldn't see you again. I never ever lost hope for you. My love". She put her lips on his. She kissed him with passion. He missed her kiss and her scent. "Cherries". When she stopped Severa came close. "You …" She slapped him in the face and hugged him. "How could you do this to me. Do you know how much I cried. Dad, why did you break your promise? You promised to be with me! Never do this again!". He kissed her at her cheek. Chrom told him: "David. Its so good to see you back! But, I must tell you that I did it! I finally made your dream true! Peace has been restored once and for all! Man how much I missed you". Chrom gave him a hug as well. "We have a lot more to tell." he said. It was David's turn to speak. "I… I… am sorry everyone. You have been through a lot because of me. But I had to. I had to. Forgive me". "Consider it done!" Cordelia said. "Come we have a lot to discuss about". "Cherry, everyone, there is something more… Please forgive me once more, because after what happened, I was away this whole year on purpose." He lowered his head. He stopped smiling. "What?" Everyone said at the same time. "Why would you do such thing?" Cordelia asked with surprise. ____________________________________________________________________________________ A/N: Hello everyone! I am J.D. King a huge fan of Fire Emblem : Awakening (or FE:A). I have read a lot of great stories from other authors and I believe its time for me to tell my own story about Chrom, Avatar and the rest. Keep in mind that this is the first time I am doing such thing (I am a bit inexperienced) and I might not update constantly (busy life). In this small pilot chapter I wanted to relate how Avatar/David met and fell in love with Cordelia and start my story smoothly with their reunion. I aim to become a better author. An author that will provide you with quality stories. Someone who will one day create an "Epos" and through it people can smile and be excited or inspired. So what you thought about the "Prologue"? That's what reviews are for. I accept both bad and good. Please refer if you are reviewing a specific chapter or the story as a whole. I use them to see what you like and don't, so I can improve myself. Next chapter will be uploaded fast. No copyright intended. Please don't mind any grammatical errors. Until next time, Cya! ;) J.D. 16. Does anybody else feel like the makers of Awakening sorta-kinda intended for the player to pair up their Avatar with Chrom (if female) or Lucina (if male)? I know there aren't really any canon couples in the game per se, but it does feel like there are certain pushes from the makers. Obviously they also really try to hammer in Chrom X Sumia as well, but it's safe to say that doing f!Robin X Chrom and m!Robin X Lucina brings out the most epic plot-driven drama the game can produce. In either instance, Lucina tries to come to terms with killing her mother or her husband, and the scene is just so heartbreaking and powerful, especially because of the music and dialogue. It's gotten to a point where I now consider at least m!Robin X Lucina "canon", just cause their relationship makes the game a decent bit more compelling. I also found their supports and their conversations at the DLC hot springs to be cute as hell. Obviously this is just opinion-based, and I'm happy to hear replies from people completely disgusted by the pairing ("That's his best friend's kid, you sicko!"). From the sounds of it, though, m!Robin X Lucina and f!Robin X Chrom are really popular ships. Like.....really popular, so if anyone has a reason why they ship them so hard, feel free to respond! =P
  17. Anyone know when and where preorders for these bad boys (and girl) will be? It wasn't announced in the direct and so far Amazon and Gamestop listings have not been posted.

  21. What if you can have a custom final smash, like the custom moves? It sounds kinda OP,but then again, custom moves are kinda OP too. Here are some examples of a custom final smash I made. Robin- 1.Normal Final Smash 2.Robin uses vengeance, the percentage you have is dealt back to the enemy. For example,if you had 75 percentage, Robin will hit that 75 percentage back at your opponent. 3.Robin uses a very slow Lethality. It KO's in a hit,but can be blocked by rolls and shields, and stopped by projectiles. Lucina-1.Normal Final Smash 2.Lucina calls Owain,Severa, and Brady (similar to how robin calls chrom in his normal final smash) Lucina,Severa, and Owain hit the opponents who get caught in the hit with Lunas and Astras while Brady slightly heals Lucina. Not likely to KO something though, just deal damage. 3.Lucina catches the opponent in a hit, using Sol and Luna, and then using Aether.Sol and Aether slightly heals her.Is pretty weak, but has high knockback. This is all I thought of for now,but if you like this idea, give me a custom final smash you'd like to see happen ;)
  22. As I'm sure many of us have, I've been playing a lot of Smash for 3DS, especially with the four Fire Emblem characters. Gotta say it's great, and they're all fun. Except... I think I'm missing something with Marth. So, I know the main difference between Marth and Lucina is that Marth does more damage at the tip of his sword and less damage on the rest of it, while Lucina's damage is a balanced middle along the entire blade. My first thought was "oh, so Lucina is a kind of skill-gate character. You play as her to get used to the mechanics, but Marth will be better since he takes more skill to use." I thought the tipper was enough to make Marth the superior character. Except, in practice, it isn't; at least in my experience so far. Because Lucina's sword is balanced throughout, she doesn't have to rely on keeping the enemy a certain distance away. As long as her sword can touch them, it will do solid damage. This means that she actually has a useful up-smash, unlike Marth's, which is completely useless unless you land the tipper (which is more trouble than it's worth, and you should probably up-tilt instead). Also, Marth's sword has been shortened even more since Brawl, which itself had shortened it from Melee. I'm pretty sure it's shorter than Link's sword now. Lucina's Falchion is of the same length, but if you have to get that much closer to hit someone, it's easier to just close the distance and attack than closing the distance while also worrying about landing the tipper. And the tipper itself. In Melee, the tipper was much easier to land, and was integral to his attacks. In Brawl, the tipper was made significantly smaller and much harder to land, which continues into SSB4. This was fine and dandy in Brawl, but now he has a clone who is better off without the tipper. (And he doesn't have chaingrabs anymore, but that's beside the point.) Ironically, I can't help but compare Marth to Roy. Roy 'sucked' because he had a poor sweetspot on his weapon, and sourspotting his attacks would hit like a wet noodle. Marth is the same way in this game. If you don't land that precise tipper, that forward-smash isn't doing anything. Meanwhile, Lucina's forward-smash is amazing, and can kill at medium percentages. Not to mention how both characters have the revamped Shield Breaker, which is basically the same thing in case their forward-smash is stale. Except Marth's Shield Breaker runs into the same problem as his up-smash: gotta land that tipper, bro. Stabbing is not Marth's strong suit. So I'd deduced most of this while playing, but then a thought occurred to me. The two Falchions deal different damages, but what about knockback? From what I've been able to determine since then, I've found that they are pretty much exactly the same. That is, Lucina's knockback isn't distributed throughout her sword; rather, it's identical to Marth's Falchion. An example is both character's down-aerials. I had assumed that Marth was the only one with a meteor smash, since you had to land the tipper for that to work and Lucina, well, didn't have one of those. I had also tried to land a meteor with Lucina several times and failed, but apparently those failures were just me sucking at the game, because I now know that her dair does, in fact, have a meteor smash at the tip. It seems to be just as powerful, too. I basically dropped my 3DS at this point, completely dumbfounded. What does Marth have that Lucina doesn't? Lucina appears to be superior in practically every way to Marth, with his only advantage being that little tipper. I posit that question to anyone reading this: am I missing something with Marth? Does he have some other advantage I don't know about? I hope the great Marth doesn't have to step down from his consistent place in the upper echelons of the tier lists. TL;DR: What's so great about Marth compared to Lucina? Thanks for the reply.
  23. If my memory serves correctly, if the avatar marries Lucina and beats the game, doesn't Lucina go back to the future, or does she stay with the avatar? Can someone shed some light on this?
  24. Hey everyone, this morning I saw that theyetee.com is offering FE Awakening inspired shirts/hoodies today! http://theyetee.com/ I'll be getting "The Shepherds", since I don't own one single piece of Fire Emblem inspired clothing. To be honest, I've never really seen FE inspired shirt designs at all!
  25. [spoiler=Robin's alternate costumes] [spoiler=Lucina's alternate costumes] Yup, screenshots of Robin's and Lucina's alternate costumes, the latter of which are derived from other characters from Fire Emblem Awakening! Share your thoughts here! For the case of Lucina, from left to right, there's the default costume, Nowi, Cherche, Cordelia, Tiki, Lissa, Tharja and Sumia! EDIT: added in Robin's alts. and hid the screenshots because of spoilers. My thoughts on their costumes: by default, I would use the default costumes. However, in case the mood strikes me, or if it becomes apparent that visibility is becoming an issue and I don't want to put up a thick outline for the characters, I like green, red, blue and yellow costumes on Robin. For the case of Lucina, I actually like all of them since I can see the amount of effort Sakurai and his team put into the costumes (personal bias towards Cordelia, Tiki, Cherche, Lissa and Sumia). By the way, doesn't Lucina in the Nowi alt costume look a lot like Nino from FE7? ... And can't believe that I just saw this now... male Robin in his white costume makes him look a lot like Kirito in his Knights of the Blood Oath uniform from Sword Art Online.
