  1. As the title suggests, I'm wondering what are the chances of 8-4 doing localization for the new Fire Emblem on the Switch. I loved their work with Awakening and from what I've seen of SoV, that as well. I must say I wasn't too pleased with Treehouse's quality of English voice acting and overall localization of Fates (not whining about censorship by the way, couldn't really care much about that). I'd love to see 8-4 return once again now that full voice acting is the case with Shadows of Valentia. What are your thoughts?
  2. Hello! I just want to some questions for my brother who is starting this game. So I heard rerolling on emulator seems to be fast but my brother is skeptical about it. His questions are: 1. Is it safe to make an account on an emulator? Is it different than making an account on a phone? (He is afraid his account might get ban or something if nintendo find out his account was made on emulator) 2. Is it safe to link the account to mynintendo after rerolling is done. He is think and afraid that since he is using a 3rd party application that logging in with his mynintendo account that people can see his information. Just want to say he is thinking to use the emulator to reroll and link after that he will play on his phone/tablet forever.
  3. Ok first things first, I love this game. Especially with the commutes I'm doing now in days its nice to be able to pop out my phone and get a few rounds in. Even at home its fun to play and the way the combat is done makes it so that most matches are much quicker than their counterparts. It also has a surprising amount of depth to it with all the upgrades unit merging etc... I also like the fact that it is truly free to play. Sure there are the "freemium" aspects of it to buy orbs or feathers to get more chances to get better units but at no time do I feel the need to do so to keep progressing in the game. By far I think its the best Nintendo mobile game out there. But the question I have is how long will it last? How long do you think Nintendo and IS will upkeep the servers and the game? Do you feel that this is simply a stop gap for future major releases in the series like Echoes or whatever the next "big" FE title is and this will drop down in popularity? I would like to think the answer is no and that as more games get added to the series Heroes will stick around and just add major characters from future titles. That being said, I would think that with updates and so on would start making the game pretty large (larger than it already is currently sitting at 589MB on my phone).
  4. Well, there it is. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/788900063833493504 Video is 3 minutes long, so keep expectations in check.
  5. Since I couldn't find an existing thread for unpopular opinions for non-FE games, let's talk about our unpopular opinions here. Some brief mentions of FE games shall be fine for illustrating a bigger point, but let's leave them to the relevant FE sections as much as we can. As for me, I've got six at the moment, and more will be added: General Opinions: I don't have as many cases where I actively hate a character. Many characters of video games that I've played have some good moments that are memorable/interesting (Lysandre in Pokémon XY, Yoshi in the Yoshi games), awesome (Zelda in Twilight Princess), or even just plain nostalgic (Ash, Misty, and Brock during the Pokemania). I do have characters to be not my cup of tea, but most of the time, I can understand and appreciate why they are well-liked by others. And vice-versa. Speaking of which, I get more interested with the background history and worldbuilding more than the actual stories/characters at times. Whether it is Pokémon, Zelda, or even F-Zero. In the latter example, I would think: What would make a city of 200 million people possible? How would people commute? How is law and order maintained? How will food be produced for a big number of people? Sometimes, I even get interested in the architecture of the buildings in the story setting of the games. Though, that is because of my architectural background. Game-specific Opinions: Having said that, there are two definite cases where General-#1 does not apply. I absolutely refuse to even touch any of the recent Super Mario games anymore, or any of the non-N64 Smash games, because of just how stupid Peach, and increasingly Luigi, acts. I find it stupid when the former keeps getting kidnapped 70-80% of the time without physically resisting (via moves in Smash Bros), and the latter increasingly being the distressed dude against some of the enemies he actually fought in the past - the latest example being 3DS Land. For all the flak Nohrrin, Xander, or any other supposedly stupid/cowardly/oversentimenal people get, I prefer them to the two girls. Surprisingly, I didn't like Mother 3 when I first played it myself years ago, but I might give it a second chance. I vehemently disagree with the worldbuilding direction that Gen 3-5 of Pokémon implemented. Why didn't GF retain more of the "true-to-OTL" like Gen 1-2 and 6 did? Why didn't they go overseas to Hawaii, Guam, or Queensland outright if they wanted a tropical region in Gen 3, instead of an unrealistic Hoenn that has nothing of the climate of RL!Kyushu?? (addenda) I think I can appreciate what Sega was aiming to do for Sonic '06 game. I've heard critics panning the game and the story, but as a complete outsider to the franchise, I suspect it would have been much better received if Sega actually took the time to at least iron out the gameplay issues. Maybe Sonic 06 just needed some more time and better planning.
  6. There's been a trend over the past year- whenever Nintendo says anything about mobile, a lot of discussion is generated. And this being the internet, negativity and cynicism tends to drown out the other opinions. Here's a selection of quotes from Nintendo Life and their two articles related to Super Mario Run: As you can see, a lot of people are... passionate on the subject. Do you think that they should be worried, or that things are mostly fine? Basically, will mobile have primarily negative longterm effects on Nintendo was we know it or mostly positive? Here's what I think: in their outline for mobile, Nintendo said that they would use it to try and draw people to their own software and hardware. They also said that they want mobile to become a "pillar of profit" (I made a topic a while back based on that comment). To me, everything they've done has been in-line with what they've said- Pokemon go has earned them money directly, caused a spike in Pokemon merchandise, and is hanging steady (last time I checked)- Super Mario Run will probably have a similar effect. I don't think they're selling out to mobile or anything of the sort- this is a smart business decision to make money and advertise their brands. Though it is a tad odd we haven't heard anything concrete from Nintendo about the NX, people are jumping to conclusions with the worst-case scenario in mind. Given the behavior of certain groups of people on the internet in general, it's almost like they want something to hate and be afraid of.
  7. I am looking for experienced players to play Splatoon Ranked Battles online. I am an A- rank so I'll mostly be looking for people B+ to A+, but if you have skill and know how to work together than I will definitely make exceptions. If you want to play, PM me or kik me @keensimpson03
  8. So Eurogamer has just posted a couple of articles that, according to various sources, reveal that the upcoming NX is a primary handheld system, but it comes with two ports that allow to attach and detach two controllers and connect the system to the TV to allow for traditional console gaming. In other words, a hybrid. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-07-26-nx-is-a-portable-console-with-detachable-controllers http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-nintendo-nx-mobile-games-machine-powered-by-nvidia-tegra This has NOT been confirmed by Nintendo yet, which is why I'm labeling it as RUMOR, so take it with a grain of salt. But I think it's actually a pretty cool idea and I wouldn't mind if it's true. I'll take it, provided the price is right. Comments?
  9. I just saw GameXplain mentions that the Treehouse that will be presented in tomorrow's E3 presentation. This brand new IP will be a RPG that is going to be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. But, I just wondered what new RPG series that we will be seeing directly from Nintendo tomorrow? Edit from June 15th: It's confirmed to be as Ever Oasis developed by Grezzo. Here's the gameplay footage from the E3 and I did made a Miiverse drawing of the Protagonist for the next Super Smash Bros. title for the NX.
  10. Virtual Reality seems to be all the rage these days. Should Nintendo ride the VR hype train? I think that, if Nintendo could find a way to make NX VR profitable and have VR be completely optional, then sure, why not. EDIT: To clarify, what I mean by "optional" is to have VR be an add-on peripheral sold separately from the main system.
  11. So, now that the first batch of SNES Games are available on the New Nintendo 3DS eshop, which games would you like to see next? Personally, I'd love to see Final Fantasy VI, Fire Emblem IV and Fire Emblem V.
  12. It's just like Sims, but with Miis........
  13. Has anyone seen this trailer yet? I remember really loving the Awakening Accolades trailer, but this one just blows that out of the water. Its very beautiful and gripping~! I'm really celebrating over the fact that Nintendo finally seems to have gotten how to market a Fire Emblem game; the advertising is amazing! :0
  14. To be completely honest, to me at least, Fates' skinship removal doesn't affect me. I feel neutral about it. I never thought as Fire Emblem as a waifu game anyway. But what do you guys think about it?
  15. http://www.nintendo.co.kr/PR/press_list.php?cPage1=1&cPage2=1&idx=239 (Korean) Last August, I posted the thread that Nintendo decided to officially release Fire Emblem Fates in South Korea. Today, Nintendo Korea announced that Fire Emblem Fates will be released in Fall 2016. So, Korean Fire Emblem fans have to wait more than a year (from first announcement in last August) to get their hands on Fire Emblem Fates. This news probably does not matter too much for NA Fire Emblem fans, but it is good to know that franchise is growing steadily.
