  2. What Fire Emblem characters have grown on you the most, and why? I’ll start. Petra and Linhardt from FE16, are mine. I was absolutely not expecting characters to go beyond their one note in this game, so for the entirety of Verdant Wind and Azure Moon (the two routes where you don’t start with them (and I didn’t use them)) I thought they would be the most boring characters in the game. Linhardt’s note is that he likes to take naps more than anything, including doing work or participating in class, and Petra’s is that she speaks in broken English (kinda). Petra’s isn’t even a personality trait, and Linhardt’s is more of an interest at that. So of course I thought they would be boring, but when I actually used them and got their supports that quickly changed. I didn’t expect them to be so nuanced (and for Petra to be a top tier waifu 👌👌). They went from my least favorites to some of my favorites on the game, some might even remember Petra made my top 10 three houses characters (iirc she was number 8 or 9), but what about you guys? What characters (series wide) have grown the most on you and why?
  3. I have a question for you all, has there ever been a character that you genuinely like-love personality wise but only gets appreciated for gameplay by the majority? If so, who is it and why, I'd love to hear what you all have to say! For me, it's Canas, he's genuinely such a goodhearted and sweet person, he pursues the horror's of Elibe's dark magic not for power, but for knowledge, resisting the temptations of such. It's also a very nice touch that his affinity is Anima to reflect his pursuit of knowledge.
  4. The ranged-weapons (not magic tomes or staves) in Fire Emblems are commonly use bows. Even crossbows also was existed in RD. In Fates, daggers or shurikens also mainly considered as ranged-weapons even able to used for attack on range 1. The law of weapon-triangle always applied. The sword-axe-lance-sword triangle will always exist. The magic tome triangle anima-light-dark-anima also was existed before, and so many players still missing the magic triangle plays. Now, what about the ranged-weapon triangle? We just have a simple idea about the completions of the weapon triangle types, including it will make the Fire Emblem has able to developing more various or returning old classes in their future installments. The crossbows might be able to treated as a different weapon-type later, so the weapon triangle might perhaps would became bow-crossbow-dagger-bow (which might made the Sniper class has two different weapon proficiencies : bow and crossbow. And it would be great if Ranger class would be applied so well and returned beside GBA's spellcaster classes. Bow Knight - bow and sword. Ranger - crossbow and sword). The effectiveness : it's a common knowledge those bows are effective againts fliers, and daggers has low damage output. Let them be that way. The different is, just make the crossbows not effective againts fliers (since it basically designed only for shooting straight forward at the max.angle) but instead just make them effective againts cavalries. Let the daggers damage outputs basically low but just make them effective againts infantries. It's for balancing wise, beside, some historical records said that the cavalry troops might be effective to charging the legions of archers, but different story when they facing the lines of crossbowmen. And about the daggers, despise they were used on battlefields or not, were almost never used againts targets which still on horseback since it would be much less effective. Armor-class might be exception because they were basically different class than other infantries even they also fights on their feet. They already had their own weaknesses, beside, logically, throwing daggers againts Armor-class would be never effective (daggers here treated as ranged weapon). Maybe someone has talk about these topics before. But still, we believes that anyone here have better opinion than us, and please just share with us.... Thank you before and best regards.

Just another dumb question I wanted to ask everyone, it's basically a "what do YOU want from FE Switch?" question only this one is specifically asking about what you are/aren't hoping for in terms of plot, setting, writing, themes, etc, whatever. I hope this isn't too similar to too many other threads here
  6. Exactly what the title says, what are you good people hoping to see in Fire Emblem Switch in terms of gameplay? Mechanics, Quality of Life Adjustments, Skills, Classes, Weapon types, ANYTHING you can think of! Personally I want to see two things from the Tellius series make a return. Bonus Experience and Skill Scrolls but I personally would make a few adjustments to them. For Bonus Experience I'd make the special requirements for getting them clear and available to the player by putting them next to the Victory/Defeat conditions so they know what they need to do if they want extra EXP. It never made any sense to me why they decided to hide these from the player and not tell them what they needed to do, it sounds like something a Famicom game would pull and we're YEARS beyond that. As for Skill Scrolls I'd have them work very similarly to the way that they work in PoR only removing the skill from a unit doesn't make them disappear into thin air but instead return to a scroll that you can reassign to different unit. The skill scrolls can either be gotten the old fashioned way via chests and fleeing enemy units or recruitable units can come pre-packaged with skills you can take and slap onto someone you want to have them, adding some customization options for your units. If possible, I'd also make Echoes/Radiant Dawn's Base Conversations make a return since they're great for extra characterization and world-building and Fates' Personal Skills also return since they make each unit feel more unique. I honestly don't care if they bring back Full Voice Acting or not but if they do keep the in-battle voice clips but remove the critical hit cut-ins. I liked it better when critical hits were fast, surprising, and came without warning. The last thing I want to see make a return are Tellius Style Maps the color code which part of the continent fall under which power, though this one isn't as important. Welp those are my thought's, what're your's?
  7. I should start out by saying this is just my opinion, if you disagree, please try to be nice about it. I should also state that I have no clue if there is another topic like this, if there is, I didn't see it when browsing earlier, my bad. Persona is seemingly the life blood of the Megami Tensei franchise, or MegaTen. There is 2 spin offs for the spin off series releasing in 2 days as of writing, a leaked/rumoured Persona 4 reboot thing, Persona Q2 which is a sequel to the Mediocre at best Persona Q, and a slightly confirmed Persona 6. While this may be seen as fantastic to a lot of people, I don't agree with that. Persona has eaten Atlus's attention for MegaTen. There are no more sub series or spin offs anymore, just Persona. It's now to the point where Persona and the rest of MegaTen are considered financially different. Sure, SMT5 is on the way eventually but that is it. While DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP Strange Journey just released, that was a rerelease of a DS game with new additions, whether you prefer it or prefer the original isn't of importance, but DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP SJ is just a rerelease. The game came out many years ago, it doesn't count. The only other game is Dx2 SMT Liberation, which doesn't count either. The mobile game was developed by Sega and is managed by Sega, not Atlus. Atlus is busy rushing out Persona spin offs with what will most likely be mixed results of Mediocre to potentially great, time can only tell. But with SMT5 being the only Main Line game being made, there is an apparent lack of presence of other titles. We haven't had a fifth Demon Summoner and the last DeSu game was a rerelease of Soul Hackers which was originally on the Sega Saturn. Hell, Demi-Kids isn't a thing anymore and Atlus tried to run that like it was the second coming of Christ. We haven't had anything similar to Digital Devil Saga, Devil Survivor, Demon Summoner, really anything in years. Ever since Persona 3 and 4 became popular, especially Persona 4. Persona 4 has brought about the end of a golden era of MegaTen. Instead of a new DeSu, we get a Persona 4 spin off regularly. Instead of originality, it's Persona 3 dancing! Only time can tell what will happen but this can potentially harm Studio Zero, a new studio formed of Atlus staff who are making Project Re:Fantasy as well as the port of Catherine. Funding will stop going to Studio Zero and will go directly to another Persona game. Eventually there will be a Persona fatigue and Atlus will be screwed with its new cash cow. SMT is all but surely dead, which is sad. Main Line has been a staple of Atlus's greatness. SMT 1, 2, and If... are staples of their SNES library and the PS1 ports are even better. SMT3, while being a product of its time, showed that even after a decade, Main Line was strong and capable of a genre defining game. Without SMT3, MegaTen as a whole would be completely different as well as the beloved PS2 games like DDS, DeSu, and both Persona outings. SMT 4 and 4F are both strong contenders of why the 3ds is a great place for JRPGs, they are both great games with an aura of brilliance in their gameplay. Strange Journey was a return to the first person dungeon crawling mixed with elements from the PS2 era, blending both extremely well. SMT NINE should be forgotten to time and IMAGINE was snuffed of the Main Line status even though NINE still is and NINE is the definition of steaming garbage. It'd be a shame if Atlus dropped Main Line, especially since this unnecessary milking of Persona has eaten up their interest. If this continues, SMT5 will be overshadowed even worse than it already is. Atlus needs to stop focusing on Persona and just let their developers go wild, MegaTen is a wacky franchise and that shouldn't ever be lost. Persona is so popular but the costs of its popularity is harmful to the franchise and needs to be scaled down by a lot. It's great that Persona 5 sold so damn well and is loved, it truly is. That love shouldn't mean more milking though. There will be a huge fatigue for Persona eventually and that will be an issue for Atlus and then what? There will be no more parts of the Franchise to rely on since all were murdered by the wave of Persona. Hopefully SMT5 succeeds and the Switch can get a lot of great sub series with that success.   8. Well, I recently beat this game, and...I really enjoyed it! Wasn't perfect, by any means; for example, the gameplay somehow managed to be even MORE unbalanced than Gaiden itself was...but I still enjoyed myself. And while the plot itself still had a lot of the doofy elements of Gaiden, the writing behind said plot went a long way to helping resolve it. Plus, I liked how much they expanded upon Act 5 (in the original Gaiden, the game just sort of...ended. It felt like the entire Act was written under a deadline). That all said, I also realize that the plot definitely had some loose ends that should have been tied up. So, I've decided it'd be fun, theory crafting ways this can all tie together. So without further adieu... Number 1: If Rudolf Could Beat Up Mila...Why Didn't He Just Beat Up Duma, Too? Why the Overly Convoluted Plan? As far as I know, Mila and Duma are equals. Otherwise, their long war before the Pact wouldn't have ended in a stalemate. So logically speaking, Rudolf could've just taken the BOTH of them out, just with the information available. But, I feel like that can be explained. I don't know the exact timeframe for all of Echoes' events, but... I think think there are two easy explanations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1) Maybe beating up Duma WAS Rudolf's original plan...and then Mila messed that up by sealing Falchion. 2) Where Mila's followers were namby-pamby pacifists, Duma's followers were scary dark mage types. If Rudolf went after Duma...it wouldn't have just be "Rudolf vs. Duma". It would've been "Rudolf vs. Duma + The Entirety of the Duma Faithful". Perhaps Rudolf didn't think he could take the both of them at once. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Going by theory No. 1, Rudolf might've decided he wanted to try his luck with Mila, first. Perhaps he feared what Duma would do to his family and kingdom if he failed to take him down. So, instead of marching into a fight he wasn't sure he could win, he picked a fight with Mila first, knowing that she was about as strong as Duma. Then, if he emerged victorious, then he'd know he could beat Duma, too. So Rudolf marches to Mila, does his thing, wins the fight... ... ....... Aaaand then Mila seals the Falchion! Rudolf marches back to Rigel, planning on defeating Duma, and then gets stopped in his tracks when Mila figures out what he intends to do. Because remember; Mila's still selling the mental effects of degeneracy. She's not in her right mind, and she doesn't want Rudolf killing her brother. That's theory No. 1. So going by Theory No. 2, well...let's face it. The Duma Faithful are a HECK of a lot scarier than the Mila Faithful ever were. So scary, in fact, that Rudolf felt that he needed to send Alm away with Mycen, instead of just crushing the cult himself. And that makes sense. Even assuming he could round up the army he needed to fight the Duma Faithful, his army's screwed the moment he himself gets taken down. Falchion is the one thing in their world that can kill Duma. So all the Duma Faithful would need to do is focus all their firepower on Rudolf. Do that, and the entire effort collapses. It wouldn't matter how many men Rudolf had with him. Hence, why Rudolf felt the need to turn to his utterly nonsensical, overly convoluted plan. It's risky as all-get-out, but, well...Alm and Celica are the prophesized saviors. It's not much, but, it's still better than nothing. Do either of those sound like reasonable explanations? Or is there something I'm forgetting about (like, maybe Rudolf beat up Mila many years AFTER sending Alm away? Like I said, not sure on the exact timeframe of everything that happened).
  9. What are your thoughts on the current state of the Fire Emblem franchise? I don't mean it's fanbase, I mean like the mainline series. Positive? Negative? Be honest. Go nuts, I honestly just need an excuse to talk about something.
  10. So, having just about beaten this game, I am indeed pleased at all the obvious love that went into it. It didn't have a lot of the silly things that dragged Awakening and Fates down, had a lot of neat mechanics changes, made fantastic use of the secondary characters (for example, May, Boey, and Saber remaining relevant all the way to the very end), GREATLY expanded the story and dialogue, had wonderful voice acting...it was a treat. So before I go into the things I miss, I wanted to make it clear that I still consider this to be a good remake. That said...I'm someone who also really liked the NES version, in-spite of all it's flaws. And while this remake was great in it's own way, I felt there were a lot of little things that I missed. I'm only going to cover the atmosphere, this time, as this post ended up being WAY longer than I thought it would be. But, I'll get into other nitpicks in the future. For now, here's just the atmosphere. Number 1: Atmosphere One of the things that always stuck out to me about Gaiden was just how...bleak it was. From the minute you start, to the very end, the tone is generally very somber and tragic. Where the remake feels like you're trying to prevent bad things from happening...the original felt like the bad stuff had already happened. Part of the whole point of this game (and why Celica was so willing to offer herself to Jedah) was because the world was on the brink of dying. The land was dark and ominous, the literal dead were walking the Earth, and the soundtrack was EXTREMELY depressing (with only a handful of "positive" tunes in there). Celica's decision to sacrifice herself to Duma wasn't because she was naive and stupid (as you'll recall, she asks him WHY she should believe what he says). It was her believing that the whole world was dying. If she did nothing, everyone and everything in the world would die (as far as she knew). She wasn't stupid, she was desperate; and Jedah actually did a really good job of playing upon that (seriously, props to the writing team; these characters were really well-written). In any case, the original Gaiden did a WAY better job of selling me on just how desperate things were. The villages were a lot emptier, the color palette was significantly darker... ...The characters weren't nearly as handsome and well-groomed as they are in Echoes... ...and the soundtrack was generally a lot more depressing. There were a lot of new songs composed for this remake; and many of them were a lot cheerier and/or relaxing than the original songs. And even some of the original songs that were used were radically changed and/or used less frequently. For example, compare this... Village Theme (Echoes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkAjHxLKTfE A fairly neutral piece of mood music that's just kind of...there. It's not CHEERY or anything, but it's relaxing enough that you feel safe and confident. The grass is green (even in the supposedly "baren" Rigel Empire), the houses are standing, the sky is blue...you're feeling pretty good. The GAIDEN music, on the other hand... Village Theme (Gaiden): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGg97xkg4DQ Yeah. IMMEDIATELY, it sets this somber, outright oppressive atmosphere. It's depressing, and extremely monotonous. However, it's monotonous in a good way. Alm's argument with Mycen, as well as Lukas' speech about how desperate things are, hit a lot harder with this song droning in the background. And that isn't the only time it's used, either. It is used in every village you come across in the original game, save for the Sage's Hamlet and both port towns. Every village you come across is supposed to be in a state of desperation; and the original song reflects that a lot better. That said, Echoes DOES use this song once. Though, sadly... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io2yXqWVa4g It now sounds a lot more uplifting; as this has been turned into Alm's triumphant "I'm going to rise up and join the army!" theme. Still would've at least worked well for Lukas' recruitment speech, at least...but still missing the sense of despair the original had (to me, at least). The other town theme (the one that played for the aforementioned port towns and Sage's Hamlet) is also the same way. In Gaiden, you feel very...emotional, when you hear it. Encounter (Gaiden): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hj0eM_YkuA Like, the characters themselves are happy...but they're happy in the context of a world of tears. The song is just as much sad as it is happy; being played as the recruitment theme AND the theme that plays when random villagers are talking about how many people Barth and Grieth have slaughtered. Like, the way the song is cheery, but desolate at the same time. The characters are smiling, but they're smiling in the face of unspeakable pain (or so it sounds to me). The Echoes version, on the other hand, is just happy through and through. Encounter (Echoes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXF8HFGRvgU And it IS great, don't get me wrong! I love the way it's used in the Remakes, too! I just wish they had maybe...I dunno, constructed two different versions of it. Maybe the above piece could have been the "holy cow, Est has been reunited with her sisters!!" theme, and the other could be the "port town of sad and lonely people" variation. And finally, there's "Celica Map 2/The Sacrifice and the Saint". Once again, this is the case where I like what they did with the remake...but still wish they had found a way to recapture the mood of the original. The Sacrifice and the Saint (Gaiden): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCAfEHiuI6E Now, instead of playing exclusively as Celica's "Chapter 4 Battle Music", this was, instead, the "Victory" theme. The theme that played whenever there was only one enemy left, in ALL Celica battles. In a vacuum, it's obviously not as well composed as the remake. But, it DOES do a better job of supporting that aforementioned "oppressive atmosphere". It's faintly triumphant, but it also sounds desperate at the same time. Like, the characters are winning, but, it's just one step in the long, LONG ordeal that Celica has ahead of her. She's won the fight, but she's still got the entire war ahead of her. But the Remake... The Sacrifice and the Saint (Echoes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxI9G3v-n4o Well, it works fantastically as an endgame battle theme. But, once again, it is WAY more triumphant and hopeful than the original. And that's something I find regrettable. Had they kept that same sense of despair throughout the whole game, it would have made Celica's decision to sacrifice herself to Duma make a little more sense. It wouldn't have been smart, necessarily...but I could totally buy her just being really desperate to save her dying world.

Hypothetically speaking if you could choose any Fire Emblem game to have it's Gameplay, Story, Mechanics, Presentation etc. Fixed/Redone in all the right ways, which game would it be, why, and how? Be broad or be specific, either is fine. It can be any game in the franchise, even recent ones or remakes. Go nuts.
  12. Who are your favorite Fire Emblem antagonists? I'm asking because I've noticed Fire Emblem has an antagonist problem and I'd like to just ask who you guys/gals/others think are the best ones based on what you've played. My personal favorite would be Fernand because once you hear what the man has been through via DLC because fucking why not his actions are much more understandable and you can actually feel bad for him, unlike Berkut who's only sympathetic trait was a throwaway line about a "might makes right" upbringing and a couple post-Alm freakouts.

  18. I personally think that Hoshido is more moral in values, in my opinion, because of how they want peace. That's just my view of it.
  19. This is gonna be damn fun. This is what id like to see in FE switch, though NOT A PREDICTION. Ill separate it into categories, for fun mostly but it'll probably read better as well (Just kidding there is only one category for detail) Editing and open for suggestion to fanboy over. GAMEPLAY Distinct difficulty levels, for replayability and accessibility, standard, hard, no lunatic, though, as i think FE7 did the difficulty gap between hector normal, and hector hard mode better that conquest did, and, to be honest, it was a little daunting seeing lunatic on the start screen, first playthrough, for some reason. Rescue, not pair up. pair up is unbalanced to use and unbalanced to play against in the few instances that you do (Conquest, 17/18 cant remember , General bros being a fine example.) I don't really want shove back unless the enemies also use it on hard, as it was a little broken. Promotion to work kind of like a fusion between FE4 and Gaiden/ Echoes plus a little of the Gba norm. As in like that, promotions would only get you up to the promoted classes bases, never over, but promotion would not reset your level, or stunt exp growth. But also some three tier classes for good measure, not all classes though. but so that it was generally rewarding to see happen i would probably have the class bases for promoted classes be like, 40% stronger than the un-promoted variants. Third tier would, stat wise be less significant, but grant some gnarly skills. Also branching promotion would be cool, but only for first to second, not second to third, as that would be confusing. Second to third would join back together in one super class that combines the strengths of both lines together. Promotions, finally, would take items, like the riders whip, for mounts not just fliers, or the training guide for some standard infantry. etc Level cap 40 Skills would be linked to the class, not the level of the class, like fates did it. So Gamble would be innate of fighters and Sol would be innate of heroes ETC. Proc skills would replace crits for their classes, so if a hero crits he deals triple damage and heals half the damage dealt. Sword-master crit would be weird in that, instead of doing three times five hits doing half damage, it would be five hits doing half damage with a mini luna (25% less def on hit) at base might. Killer weapons would be low might and rare but still have high crit to compensate. I want dungeon crawling like echoes did. Not like FE8s attempt, oh no no no. Lots of cool loot, not too much though. Weapons unbreakable, but no shops, only forges, enemy, and dungeons. I want more echoes, but with cherries on top. Fe6 style rush for the throne based map design; Gives the player more control without feeling overwhelming to figure out . Also map size similar to fe6 would be fun as I think it hits a nice sweet spot. Large but not overwhelming. Gaiden chapters. I would prefer if the pause menu told you in advance the conditions for unlocking the Gaiden, At the very least, on a second play through. NOTHING locked behind multiple playthroughs. Ever. Hard mode would be just a harder version of the same game. maybe some new gimmicks on certain maps but nothing crazy like enemies dropping new items on hard. NO characters you have to choose between, like Sonya or Deen, or Bartre and Echidna. Playthrough differences would be formed by a close balance of the cast to chose from. Echoes/Gaiden/FE8 style world map, grinding possible, but slow and unnecessary. Echoes style bonus exp, but max gained per battle is 30 instead of 20, otherwise, identical. Trinity of magic RETURNS! anima>light>dark>anima. Light magic would actually be useful, having slightly higher range than other magic(1-3), but heavy-ish. Weapon weight would be a thing, With a con stat as well, to calculate rescues Visuals would just be HD sprites. GBA style animations Music would be ... ... AH! Done by the same composer that did fates. Because to be honest, that is the only way to describe what kind of music i would want for an ideal Fe switch. By the composer. Yeah. Im out of ideas. Maybe you could help me though. If so please comment. Ta-ta!
  20. So I read something on another site that got me really curious. Basically what someone said was that people who played RD before PoR tended to have a higher opinion of Micaiah and hate Ike and those who played PoR before RD tend to have a higher opinion of Ike and hate Micaiah. Now this is the only place I know of with a huge concentration of FE fans that have played these games so I figured I would do a quick poll here to ask. What are your thoughts? :)
  21. I feel like this game is one of my favorites in the franchise for a few different reasons. The presentation, from the voice acting (ranging from decent to really good), to the MUCH better visuals, to the musical score that makes my knees weak, was incredible. The gameplay, while having a few undeniable flaws (the only one of which that actually annoys me being swamps. I hate the damn swamps), is thoroughly enjoyable to me, and there is enough replay value built in with the villagers and the free dlc to make me want to try different things. Hard felt like a rewarding experience for almost every chapter (except Nuibaba's Abode. God how I hated it), and while I took a break after beating the main story -- and as a result have not delved into the short-but-interesting postgame -- I am excited to do so now. I'm just starting a second playthrough, on Normal this time, because I want to be able to slow down and experience the narrative (which I find to simple, but effective and well told. Yes, I'm aware of the plot's weak points, I just don't mind them as much). I also just bought, played, and enjoyed the Rise of the Deliverance DLC for the first time tonight. On one hand, holy shit I feel so much more for Fernand than I already did, and while the maps were simple and not inherently interesting, the story and character buildup around them was what I cared about, and I feel like they delivered. They delivered so strongly, in fact, that I honestly think this DLC should have been the game's prologue by default, but hey. I find myself putting this game in my top three FE games, because I am generally a story focused gamer, and this is very much a presentation and narrative focused fire emblem game. Can't claim open fields are game-mechanics heavy map designs, so it's not a gameplay focus. I appreciate SoV greatly, and I hope it emboldens IS to make more Echoes games, and make the small changes and tweaks to the old games (FE4? Please?).

  23. I remember back when I first started lurking around SerenesForest, there was a thread where fans would discuss their opinions on various characters from Fire Emblem Fates. A successor thread was eventually made for Fire Emblem Awakening following the conclusion of the Fates one, and I remember keenly following both threads because of how interesting it was to hear other people's opinions on various characters. Now that Echoes has been out for almost three months now amongst the worldwide audience to the point most of us are familiar with the game's cast, I'd figure it'd be a good time to make a "Opinions on that Character" thread for Echoes similar to the Fates and Awakenings ones from the past. For those that participated in those threads linked above, you should already know how it works. For those that are new to a thread like this, it's simple: each day, I will randomly pick a major character from Fire Emblem Echoes and make a post in this thread asking fans to give their opinion on that character.   24. So first off, a little disclaimer. It has nothing to do with the topic so I'm putting it in spoilers. Alright. So I know Awakening (and Fates, but that's maybe for another time) got kind of a hard reception in the story department, and I can totally see why. We all know by now that it's not a masterpiece when it comes to the way the plot is written and/or presented to the players. But I'm not here to add salt to the injury and keep complaining on how it's "so bad". Because I know it is, I've played Awakening several times. I'm here to give a... kind of unpopular opinion, I guess. Hear what the rest of you have to say about this and maybe help some people see the story from a different perspective. Let's get straight to the point: Now don't kill me for this but I like Awakening's story, I think it's really good. Where I think the issue recides in is the way it's presented, the way it's written. So maybe many of you already came to this conclusion, but I just want to expand on it. Awakening had really nice ideas plotwise, interesting and feel-packed if I may add. It could've turned out to be such an incredible experience had they worried on how to present it. It's kind of a shame, really, that an amazing idea like that one is looked over and ignored 'cause the writing didn't do it justice. Let me go through Awakeing's first chapters of the story a little bit differently, for example. Beware as this is going to spoil this entire part of the game. Congratulations if you read all of that, and I hope that helped prove my point a little better. What I mean is, the concept of the story is so good I can't begin to explain how much I love it. It just bugs me a lot how they managed to present it so... badly. I mean, Awakening's story is the tale of a Prince, a brilliant Tactitian and their companions trying to save their kingdom in a terrible war in which many die, including (spoilers, I guess) the current ruler of their kingdom, who is also the big sister of the Prince and the symbol of peace of their lands. But it's not only that, since it's also the tale of a Princess who saw the rise and fall of her kingdom, the end of her family and her friend's parent's lives and the destruction and chaos that fell upon the land she grew up in. Is the tale of a Princess and a group of young orphans who left everything behind to travel back in time and try to save a future that would never be theirs again. I just felt like the story is sometimes ignored due to the bad writing, and that we tend to forget just how good is the story that lies behind Awakening's bad storytelling. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one.

So playing through Fate's again since I beat Echoes and have nothing to do again, to keep things interesting I like to change who I marry and what class I should use (I try to only use a class once to keep things from getting to boring) , this time around I think I may marry Selena but have no idea what class would be fun but also compliment her stat's, I was thinking Blacksmith but not sure if it's any good and i'm also trying to still have access to Swords for the Yato but it doesn't really matter, so if you have any recommendations on what I should do please voice your opinions and recommendations for what Class I should try. P.S I have already played through the game as a Sniper,Paladin,Master Ninja, Grandmaster, Lodestar, Hoshido Noble, and Nohr Noble Thanks for your time!
