  1. Why hello there Serenes Forest. I am Breezy. I like Pokemon. I like dying on the inside. So what better way to put it all together than by doing this. Anyway RULES 1.) Nuzlocke stuff: First mon on each Route/Nicknames required/Pokemon die when they are fainted 2.) Randomizer stuff: All starters\wild\event\trades\trainer Pokemon were randomized/TM's were (but not compatibility)/ There is a 10% increase on all Trainers levels. So if someone had a level 20 Ivysaur, it would be level 22. 3.) Ha I'm gonna die Anyway I suppose I gotta do this now.
  2. Hello Everyone!! Welcome to my ongoing let's play of FE8 Randomized!!! I'll be posting links to each chapter on this post as a Table of Contents. This is my first Let's Play ever, so please feel free to comment any feedback if you think I should change/improve something, of if you just want to say that you like it!!! I hope you enjoy my adventure of humor, randomness, war, victory, defeat, and confusion!!!! Prologue: http://imgur.com/a/AJxap Chapter 1: http://imgur.com/a/v1r8i Chapter 2: http://imgur.com/a/SSIFa Chapter 3: http://imgur.com/a/a6IHm Chapter 4: http://imgur.com/a/7tHeQ Chapter 5: http://imgur.com/a/OWjlJ
  3. So I was trying to randomise my game and when it says pick your path or whatever do I pick revelations for special edition to randomise all 3 or birthright or revelation (both which I want to randomise not sure which yet though). Can someone help?
  4. Next week I hope to start something I've been looking forward to doing for a while. I recently finished creating a web page that can be used to generate a random "skill tree" (set of skills each class learns) for Fire Emblem Fates (see details here) and am planning to to use it for a run through the Revelation path on Lunatic-Classic difficulty. The way this works is that each time one of my units earns a skill by reaching a level milestone in their class, I consult the table generated using that webpage to find the shuffler-chosen skill corresponding to that milestone. Then at the end of the chapter, I use a save editor to overwrite the skill that the game awarded, replacing it with the one chosen by the shuffler. The shuffler will never give a class a completely useless skill, so e.g. Swordfaire will always go to a Sword-using class. The reason I call this a "double-blind" run is that, first of all, it's my first time through Revelation, and second of all, I'll be using the "Surprise Mode" on the shuffler, so each skill is hidden until one of my units reaches the class/level milestone to earn it. Since it is a blind run, I'll be commenting on the story as well as the gameplay, and there will be spoilers for all 3 routes (as I have played the other ones already). Please do not give story spoilers for Revelation chapters I haven't played! The run will start at Chapter 7 using a +Mag -Str female Avatar. The run will not use DLC or Path Bonuses. However, it will use Challenges/Scouting to train underleveled characters (as Revelation is infamous for units joining at a way-too-low level, that much I know). ----------- Anyway, one feature of the shuffler is that it allows the user to optionally include some or all of the enemy skills in the shuffle, in case the player wanted to see what it's like being able to earn them by leveling up and turn some of the game's nastiest tricks against itself. I can see why doing that would be appealing to some and unappealing to others, so... BRANCH OF FATE: CHOOSE YOUR PATH! Option 1 *LOSER (1 vote)* I will use only the standard skills from the classes in the base game. They'll be shuffled around, so who knows which'll get what, but they'll all be there. -or- Option 2 *WINNER (5 votes)* I will set the shuffler to exclude some of the less exciting standard skills, and replace them with the lowest-power tier of enemy skills. These enemy skills will have to be earned by reaching the class/level milestones chosen by the shuffler, just like any other skill. The following changes would occur if option 2 is chosen: Excluded: Golembane, Future Sight, Shove, Swap, Skill +2, Luck +4 Included: Point Blank, Winged Shield, Bold Stance, Hit/Avo +10, Resist Status, and the one...the only...the dreaded...Inevitable End. I'll leave it up to you, the eventual readers, to decide. I won't start the run until sometime on or after Monday, September 19, so you have until then to vote in the topic poll. The topic poll is now closed. Until we meet again, have a nice weekend everyone!
  5. Heya. I have got two randomizers going on (Emerald, right before Roxanne, FR, choosing starter) and there are some hard choices to make... So why not ask here? Anyways, ı've included the questions on a poll and I will follow what the majority says. I could possibly do a playlog though I might either have to cut the pictures or make small updates if something goes wrong IRL though.
  6. Hi! I've been attempting to make a fun little romhack where I basically just dick around, changing people's classes and making dumb "Balance changes" to make the game (FE7) a little more fun for myself. In the process, I "added" (edited the peer and others) the female myrmidon, female mercenary, female brigand and a nifty little mage class and gave it to a few of the characters. My thing is that should I ever feel like randomizing this for extra fun, these classes are never going to be randomized themselves (keep in mind that I'm using the universal gba fe randomizer). Given that my knowledge of romhacking extends to Nightmare, FEditor and changing palettes, I would have no idea if it is possible to randomize them and if so, how I would go about doing it. I was thinking that perhaps there was a particular attribute in nightmare that the "usual" classes have that the others (like the peer) do not have but I noticed nothing of note. The one thing I did notice was a certain ***UNKNOWN*** attribute that most classes had a value on but stuff like the peer had a 0 value on it. However, while the mercenary (F) also had the 0x00 value attibuted to it, the female myrmidon, shaman and druid (all of which are unrandomizable as well) had actual values on them, so I guess that's not it. Plus, the values were going up with every different class so it didn't appear to be related to that at all. I'm asking this because Klokinator made a "fixpatch" for fe7 for a different randomizer and now he made one for fe8 for the universal randomizer that apparently make those classes randomizable (as long as he edits them in a specific way) but I don't think he's done that to his FE8 fix patch yet and I'm pretty sure after a several tries that the normal fe7 fix patch does not work on the universal randomizer. Any thoughts?
  7. So a friend of mine and I have been doing a bunch of Fire Emblem Randomizer streams and I've been "regularly" uploading edited versions of them onto my youtube channel. We completed Sacred Stones which was our first run not too long ago and moved onto Blazing Sword which was up until recently my favorite FE game. I figured may as well try and like advertise since there's a sub-forum for that. Couple things to know going in, I'm not amazing at Fire Emblem so if you're super amazing at them I may occasionally do something stupid and I apologize for that. We swear a lot, and I know a lot of people here probably have heard most of the stuff we say before but some people may not like that so warning ahead of time that we're not exactly PG. We also engage in a bit of the dark/offensive humor from time to time, nothing like super over the top so I don't think too many people would take anything we say seriously but just fair warning. Anyways, here's the first part. I've randomized almost everything; recruitment order, bases, growths, classes, affinity, move, con, etc. The only thing I didn't randomize were item stats. No increased growths or anything either since I'm not that good and have nothing to prove. The plan is to do Lyn and Eliwood's story on normal, again because I'm not great. Also any criticism anyone could give for how to perhaps make my videos better is always appreciated. I wanna improve so I can do a better job as an entertainer so even if it's just a minor detail I can fix please let me know. We also stream on my friend's channel Sundays at 3PM EST but we're both busy guys so our schedules often don't align so sadly that's not a consistent schedule, just the schedule we try for. https://www.youtube.com/user/Danetothemax Also my friend hates his URL so if you could tease him ceaselessly that would be great.
  8. So I'm not a big fan of the idea of randomizing the recruitment order and giving independent teams to each player, so let's try something different. Basically, everyone randomizes their rom before the drafting phase, and each character is draftable exactly one time. Mention the classes when picking your units. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 5 players. 2. Roy, Marcus and Merlinus are free for all to use. 3. One undrafted Dancer / Bard is free to use for each player. 4. One unit will remain undrafted. 5. The game will be played on Normal Mode. Randomizer options: Note: if a stat rolls more than +/- 3, I'll reduce the change to 3, and suggest you do it too. I'll leave that optional to keep things simple, though. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories, and dig up items in the desert. 2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests. 3. Use of the Warp staff is allowed. 4. All Gaiden chapters are required to be visited. Chapter 20x (either route) does not count towards the total turncount up to 20 turns taken. 5. NPCs may do as they please without penalty. 6. The game must be played out to the True Ending. 7. Dancers / Bards may not dance for each other. 8. If you promote Roy, you are free to hack his auto-demotion after chapter 21x away. 9. Glitches caused by the randomizer may not be made use of. These include non-Roy Lords being able to seize and the possibility of moving units on tiles they cannot normally pass by using the drop command or a Warp/Rescue staff. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4-turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 2. Dancers / Bards dancing for each other has a 15-turn penalty, per chapter. Exceptions: 1. Undrafted Thieves may be used to obtain necessary promotion items. 9. I've always hated how if you want proper variety in the class randomizations you essentially have to check "allow crossgender" so the women can have a good amount of classes but they get the male sprites. However, I've been playing the Weapon Reversal mod for Sacred Stones which somewhat fixes this issue. It adds a few new classes and, more importantly, adds female versions of the pirate and brigand so one gets more variety in female classes (particularly since that way they can use axes) So I figured that maybe I should try to randomize it just for fun but whenever I try it always results in an error. Screenshots shouldn't be too useful since my PC is in portuguese but allow me to describe and translate the error message. So the first thing it tells me once I click randomize is "The Item Table Offset has been updated. Item Table may have been repointed. If the number of items has changed, only the items up to the original amount will be used." After that I click ok and it keeps going as usual until it provides me with the standard "you're played FE8 so avoid easy mode cus tutorials might be unbeatable with randoms" warning and immediately after that, an error message (in portuguese) comes in and roughly says: "A non processed exception occurred in the application. If you click continue, the app will ignore this error and will attempt to continue. If you click exit, the application will be immediately closed." "The object reference wasn't defined as an object (object's?) instance." If I press Exit the rom isn't randomized. If i press Continue it just sits there for the next five trillion years without doing anything but not really frozen either and... you guessed it, the rom isn't randomized. Any clues? Thanks for any help in advance!
  10. I started a Sacred Stones Randomizer and guess who replaced Seth. I am currently in Chapter 3, and I can't wait to train a General with 8 Movement and 9 Speed (even though it's Lv 1). Edit: I forgot to ask: I would love to see more of this ridiculously OP randomized units, so please Reply with an image of your strongest unit from an FE Randomizer. Thanks. XD
  11. I have started a Let's Play on Eliwood Hard Mode with 20% increased growth rates. It is a randomized Let's Play. I am going to try to upload 1-2 videos a day using Camtasia. Here a link to my playlist/slash first video of the playthrough https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLse8DG1Ljytt0xz54C1VK3lUISrgyfvXY .I apoligize for the volume levels on the first video. I will fix it in the next one. Anyway, be sure to watch and see how good and bad I do in Eliwood Hard Mode.
  12. I am randomizing Sacred Stones. I am playing on Normal but increasing enemy growths by 10%. Weapons have random traits also. Characters are Recruited in random order and Random Classes. Can't wait to be screwed by the randomizer. Eirika got randomized into a Cavalier Ephraim. Probably wont be too bad for my lord. on the other hand Seth is a General Natasha. um... I don't think Natasha's defense will get much better. well now I guess seth went from a Oifrey to a Jeigen Franz is Gerik and my first monster Gilliam is Fado and a cavalier Vanessa is Amelia and she is a recruit moulder is hayden and a myrmidon um.... Ross is Innes.... AND HE IS A DANCER! I got real lucky with him dodging so Garcia is Joshua and josh is STILL a myrmidon!
  13. Those of you who frequent this forum have no doubt noticed that there's been a sudden influx of these runs. My 4 compatriots have already started theirs, so no doubt you have an idea of what's going on. Despite that, I'm going to post this thing anyway: I won't bother going over the text; it's not changed. With that in mind, let's begin. As of now I'm at the route split, so I'll probably double/triple post. [spoiler=Prologue] Klok said play normal mode. Unlike Mr Night, I *am* capable of following directions. An idea of what classes our new guys are. Although I can never remember who's who. Oh well, we'll find out soon enough. The lord! Eirika's been replaced by the wayward prince of Jehanna. Seems to be pretty good. I'm a big fan of a good strength growth. The Jaigen! Myrrh comes in a class with extra crit AND a killing edge. Although items have been randomized, so maybe it won't be as good as I think... Note: I won't cover ALL weapons. I'm sure the other LPs do. The fighters come with an iron axe, which gives a nice res bonus, and our boss is a knight...that Joshua will almost certainly not be able to handle. Fighters aren't terribly threatening, unless they get an unlucky (for me) crit. Even with WTD, Joshua has no trouble dispatching them. Love the +5 speed bonus from the slim lance. As I suspected. Myrrh's gonna have to handle this one. And handle it, she does. [spoiler=Chapter 1] Our boss is a cavalier with a pretty high base def. Myrrh's got this one again, I think. Joshua takes advantage of his massive movement range to plunk himself on a fort, something I normally couldn't do. Chipping the two soldiers that attack him right off the bat gives a nice first level. Meanwhile, an impatient fighter goes after Myrrh and gets face-wrecked. I forgot to unequip the KE. Oops. Our two new guys! Except, according to the rules, I can't use Duessel. Rats. I bet he sucks anyway. Gilliam's still might be an issue, later. For now, I need a sword user. I'll hold onto that nice Tome of Duessel's; not sure who I'll give it to. Looking at the iron sword and lance Gilliam came with, it appears the iron lance is a reaver. A little rescue-chaining to get Duessel and Myrrh out of the way. Unfortunately, gargoyles don't get canto or mounted rescue. None of the monsters do, in fact. So dangerous! Despite Gilliam being wide open, this silly fighter goes after Myrrh and pays the price. Now they should be out of range. Next turn, they go for a...swim? Gilliam's first level isn't too bad. Not a good picture, but the iron sword has the devil effect, apparently. Skill is good. Excellent. As I suspected, Myrrh is the only one who can damage Breguet. So she does. Very much. Whoo-hoo, money! [spoiler=Chapter 2] [imgur](http://i.imgur.com/ZDcvChY.png) The first unit I am required to use. Nothing sticks out too much. Knights, beware. Myrrh's getting this infinite-use Armorslayer. Unless it's got a devil effect or something. Even with 9 movement, Bone's got a bit of a hike. Duessel is juuuuuust too far away to get the village on the first turn, whereas that bandit totally can get to it. We'll have to distract it. Myrrh disarms Tana and sends her to get the village (I hope this is allowed). Let's turn Gerik...beastly. Also, note the infinite-use effective-against-monsters weapon he brought. Kinda ironic, no? He starts off with a nice whack for village-raider over there. Oh, right. We have greenies, don't we? Yes, we do. We'll look at them later. Doot doot, more loot. Um...not great. Not great at all. Gerik chokes the point so that Duessel can loot the village without being whacked. While Joshua parks himself to hopefully recruit whoever Ross is. This is a beast. Unfortunately, he's also taken. This guy's free, but I'm not sure how good he is. He'll come along for flier utility, at least. Duessel's mission complete, he goes and hides in the mountains. Ross recruited. If I didn't use the swordslayer, Rennac would probably steal the kill. Gerik gets his first level, which isn't that great. Rennac can reach Bone's ally, but that's less of an xp steal. The Great Rennac has been recruited, and that pretty much ends the chapter. On the world map, I check out the armory. It seems to have picked up some magic tomes; could this mean I'm getting magic users before chapter 5?
  14. Good morning everyone, and welcome to a brand new let's play of FE8! This is a randomized run using Otaku's randomizer! "But wait" I hear you say "What about your youtube??? WHAT ABOUT MANRIKLASS?" and I say............. maybe later. In the meantime, this is going to be a great LP. I previewed a bit of it, and it's AMAZING. First off, I randomized FE8 with these settings: Having tried a bunch of variants, this is the most reasonable one I've found to date. I don't randomize weapons because it usually ends up stupid and broken, and I only randomize characters because the bases can be interesting. All in all, over multiple tries, this always ends up most balanced. Also, enemies get buffed, which makes FE8 finally hard again. Note that character growths have variance of 45, which means they can get anywhere from -45% to +45% on their original growth % totals. This tends to work out against me but who knows, maybe I'll get useful characters with good growths and not too many shitty ones? This run will also help me focus down issues with my FE8 Fix Patch I'm working on. So without further ado, let's get started! [spoiler=Prologue] Hard mode, always. I'm no wimp. Even if the enemy growths ARE buffed up to a 100% increase, how hard can it possibly be? Huh. King Fado sure surrounds himself with a lot of magic users. Let's hope they never try a coup, or his RES is being destroyed! I wonder what our first three character classes will be... Valter confirmed assassin. Oh my god that is such a perfect reclass for him. The fact he doesn't 2HKO me here with a double is a total mercy move. And Valter shows nobody any mercy. Uhhhh, "Seth", you know I can't use that, right? I'm apparently a Pupil now. Huh. He doesn't look so bad. Ewan replaces Eirika in this mode, so maybe he will turn out awesome? His only good stat appears to be Resistance, but curiously he has 5 movement. Don't forget, movement among the classes will be anywhere from 4-8! In this case, 5 is a pretty good number, and considering he's a Tier 0, that's great! But what about his growths? You'll have to wait and see. THE BOULDER once again returns! This time he's a goddamn summoner with RES out the ass. I will have nothing to fear from mages! Note the 6 movement, expected for a T2 magic user. His SPD and Ewan's spd are pretty bad. Maybe growths will fix it. I... I wonder how they compare to this chapter's enemies? T-THE BOULDER DOES NOT FEAR YOU! Yes, the enemy stats are already higher than vanilla, those 0-100% growth boosts are already kicking in and lemme tell you, that shit is gonna be huge later on down the line. In all honesty, I have no guarantees I'll be able to beat this hack. None at all. Hahaha! Gotta love how the summon has better stats than the summoner! Sure, no DEF, but that's a good SKL/LUK rating, plus he makes for a good meatshield/distraction! As a final bonus, summons can fly, so he can get past barriers easily. Finally, every time THE BOULDER summons, he gains 10 EXP. That might be needed later on down the line for EXP grinding. Couple turns later, after using summons to weaken the enemies and some attacks on them, Ewan gains his first level! It's shitty. Moving the summon to the mountain, I create a target to draw the first enemy in, shielding Ewan with my Nosferatushield just in case. The summon has better hitrates than the enemy... wow XD More summoning to draw the boss in and see how I fare... the hitrates suck. I'll have to get him away from the forest. Moulder gains his first level via summon spam. It's actually worse than Ewan's. Ewan gains another level! It sucks. I'm beginning to detect a pattern here. Turns taken: 16. WHAT A GREAT START. [spoiler=Growths for characters] Ewan's Growths: HP: 20% POW: 100% SKL: 35% SPD: 0% LUK: 0% DEF: 35% RES: 50% Comments: WHY GOD HAVE YOU FORSAKEN MEEEE?! Almost no HP, absolutely no SPD or LUK, but stupid high POW gaining! He'll hit like a truck and be locked to 2 SPD for the rest of the game. What a great character! Klok Rates: 2/10! THE BOULDER'S Growths: HP: 135% POW: 0% SKL: 50% SPD: 5% LUK: 0% DEF: 25% RES: 50% As usual THE BOULDER fails to disappoint! On top of having summoning skills, this badass has relegated his POW/SPD/LUK stats to the nether, forsaking them in favor of RAW DEFENSIVE POWERRRR! Also lots of SKL, because YOU NEED TO HIT THINGS TO STAY ALIVE! Klok Rates: 2/10. OH BOY I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT CHAPTER 1 WILL BRING US!
  15. What will happen when Eirika/Ephraim normally promote? Eirika's a male lord and Ephraim's a cavalier, but I also have Joshua and Kyle as male lords and Garcia as a female lord Don't mind resetting if I have to because I'm on chapter 7 and I STILL don't have a priest or cleric (Moulder was randomized to Myrmidon, Natasha was randomized to archer)
  16. I haven't seen any randomizers that change level design and events, so... how's about I drop this little buddy here, stir up some interest, and hopefully get help and support on it, eh? What the hell is this and what does it do? It's an FE7 Chapter randomizer. It generates custom maps and events, inserts them into your FE7 rom, and then you can play the maps. The randomizer currently goes all the way up to the end of Lyn mode. Eliwood and Hector mode are completely unchanged. All chapters are beatable. What are the features? Well, while it doesn't generate map files, it DOES generate all of the event data it uses in the game, which you can modify to your hearts content and re-insert into the game. It also allows you to designate a randomizer seed, which it then saves into a TXT file so you can send it to your friends, or write up your own list of seeds that you like. Right now, the chapters are extremely simple and lame. They're all seize missions, you're Lyn, and the one enemy you fight is Batta, who sits on every throne. I want to change this in the future. What stuff do you want to implement? - Properly functioning everything, including usage of more tilesets, difficulty scaling, balancing, mission objectives, units, etc. - I want the player to have a custom lord whose class they determine. - I want to make the game start in Hector Hard Mode, so that I can use HHM bonus levels to properly scale enemy difficulty. - I need to find a way to randomly generate a square reserved for "player units", then form a randomly generated path from there to the throne, which I'll use to tell the program "NEVER place non-traversable tiles here" so maps are always beatable. Any suggestions are welcome! Download
  17. Hi! You... Probably don't know me. Long time lurker, but a huge fan of the FE series. FE4 has always been my favorite FE game since the first time I played it, and with this recent randomizer craze (which I've been completely caught up in) I've found myself wishing that there was a randomizer that worked with FE4. Of course, there isn't. But what's the next best thing? Hours of tedious manual randomizing and nightmare editing all for one run! If I was able to use the most recent randomizer, what I did would have ended up looking like something along the lines of this: Just add an option to randomize abilities and demote Sigurd, and this is basically what I did. I'll include a long-winded explanation of how I did it in a spoiler at the end, if anyone is interested. What I'm really doing right now is trying to gauge interest. If people are interested in watching some random new guy play some random FE4, then awesome, I'll do it! I already have the first castle screenshot and written up, all I'd have to do is get everything on here. Of course, if people aren't interested, then I won't go through all the extra work, and I'll just play through on my own time. I'd love to share my run while I do it, however, so I thought I'd give this a shot! PLEASE let me know if this interests you! If it does, I'll work to get a first part up ASAP! [spoiler=How I did it]So when trying to figure out how to randomize stuff, the toughest thing to figure out was growths. However, the key to doing this was a site I found. Just google "random thing picker" if you want to do one of these on your own. This site makes everything a million times easier. I decided that, due to low overall growths in the first gen, and making first gen not crazily unbalanced, that characters' growths (BEFORE holy blood) would range from 5%-90%. To calculate growth variance for each character, I simply but -30 through 30 into the random thing picker, in 5% increments. I'd roll one for each character and then add it to the character's usual total growths (again, BEFORE holy blood. Not only does this makes things easier, but it is also what nightmare shows anyway.) Once I had the character's new total growths, I'd put 5% through 90% (again, in 5% increments) into the random thing picker, and I'd start to roll growths. The important thing to keep in mind when rolling growths are the total growths of the character. If the character has 70% total growths left, and four stats to go, the highest possible growth the character could have at that point is 55% (55+5+5+5=70). So if a character couldn't have some of the higher growths at any given point, I'd simply remove the impossible options. This way, you can ensure that all 8 of their growths combined add up to their growth total. Randomizing bases wasn't terribly difficult. In nightmare, FE4 HP bases are the character's actual base HP stat. For HP, I decided to use a variance of 10. So I put -10 through 10 into the random thing picker and rolled one to use for each character's HP base. All the other bases only have variances of 3, so I only needed to put in -3 through 3 and roll one for each of a character's other stats. Since the luck base in nightmare is, again, simply the character's base luck, I always kept my roll for the luck stat on luck. However once I had rolled a -3 through 3 number for Str, Mag, Skl, Spd, Def, and Res, I put those in the random thing picker, and let it decide how to redistribute those bases. This base randomizing strategy meant bases wouldn't get randomized to a ridiculously unfair amount, but it is still different enough to make a clear difference. Classes are easy with the random thing picker, and should be self-explanatory. There are only two things that I would point out. First off I forced an early game healer and 1 thief on each generation for game-balance reasons. Second is that depending on character class, their Str or Mag growth could screw them over more than in GBA, when Str and Mag are just one stat. Because of this, if a character had more magic, I would list magic classes in the random thing picker more than once, and physical only once. For someone with similar Str and Mag growths, everything would be listed once. This means a character will be less likely to be screwed over due to having good magic but bad strength, and getting a class like Lance Knight. Finally, skills. Non-child characters in the base game can only have up to 2 personal skills. (I think this is true? People like Aira who have a third should only be due to class.) Because of this, I put 0 1 and 2 into the random thing picker and rolled a number for each character. However, to make things more interesting, I listed 0 the least and 2 the most (I believe a 2:3:5 ratio). This way most characters should have at least one wacky ability. Then I put all the abilities into the random thing picker and started rolling what personal abilities people would get. There are two things to note about the way I did this: 1. I listed Pursuit, Critical and Adept 3 times, but everything else once, since these are abilities that should have wider availability. 2. I wouldn't recommend allowing Charisma more than once per generation. I've done a run with random skills before, and if you have too much Charisma at certain points, it can mess up enemy AI. I could have randomized stuff like weapons, character holy blood, and boss classes, but as a first playthrough, I figured that this would be enough of a test. The amount of randomization already promises wacky fun anyway. EDIT: Apparently there is the beginnings of a working FE4 randomizer. I never knew. This still is quite different from that though, this'll be a new and unique take on it. Totally not trying to make myself feel better for spending hours to get something "new and unique". I still want to do this though, if there is any interest.
  18. Y’know, Fire Emblem’s been kinda boring lately. There are only so many times you can play the same game before you get tired of it. I can’t help but wonder if anything could make everyone’s favorite, most reliable GBAFE even more fun. Hmm, maybe… Yes, the 30 Hit minimum really is necessary. Fuck FE6 axes. To top everything off, I didn’t apply the translation patch, which broke the changelog! And I’m far too lazy to open everything in Nightmare to check it, so this is a completely blind run as well! I post changelog stuff on Imgur! https://sniperknight.imgur.com/ [spoiler=Chapters] Chapter 1: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=58421&p=4080481 Chapter 2: Chapter 3:
  19. Yep, I decided to jump on the bandwagon as well, although I decided to do it in video LP format. Now, let's get this show on the road! Here are the options I used (minus the randomized bases/con/mov. I forgot to edit those when I picked my settings the first time and took a screenshot prematurely, yay! the base variance is 5, con variance is 4 and 5 minimum. Mov is between 4 and 9. Current, and last episode: the Finale! Playlist! Thanks for watching!
  20. YOU HEARD ME. I quit my fe8 randomizer. It was simply impossible. Caellach never went down. dodged every single shot I ever made and healed it back with fortress, I took my loss up front and hid it away in my skeleton's closet so you guys will NEVER see it again. So. Here we go. This is my set up. Except I made that 4 mov to 5 mov instead. Just so Knights can be a pain in arse for me too. Plus I don't want any of my units to be 4 mov lol. This definitely looks more fun and worthy of my fury than that disaster of FE8 i have. I wish I used force growth, but meh, I'll fix growth for early units if it get really bad, otherwise I'll leave them untouched. Well. Whatever. [spoiler=Chapter 11 A Support Lord!] Our Hector replacement. imayormaynotbuffedherstatsduetotheinstanityofthischapterbutimnotsayingwhichistrue The wife becomes her husband. o_o samedealasaboveimayormaynotbuffedherstatsbutiaintsaying Oh nice palette. Then she dies. RIP Louise. This was my 5th try by the way. I did few tries before i snapshot just to tread the water. (She couldn't double that one soldier before the buff) Louise is pretty as monk you can't deny that. Kill archer for vulnerary. Use vulnerary. Why can't we start with one btw? Stupid hector campaign. Oh god. the crit. NO NO NO WHY DID YOU CRIT AGAIN I KNEW IT. RNG PLS I'll just do this... Again. Nope. I made a savestate a lil before, just to see what the fuck i can do with this shit. Maybe this? Of course... Annnd there. Oh nice. I DID IT I LIVED!!! Funky palette, no outline though otherwise this'd be rad. Booyah! (Btw i let the thief escape. I'm not gonna bother for the red gem.) Nope. Damn Ninian. Nope. I managed to dodged that one though so... YAY FREE THUGGIN Louise. Why. Wait what. (I did check beforehand but I forgot to snapshot that one so... :T) Ballista weapons lives?! Oh snap. Not gonna risk 2 more round of gamble. Better.png And that's the last bolt. Louise grabs a heal. Perfect. Now Ninian can gets her own kill! Poor Wire. Ninian does 1 damage. Just enough. Thankgodigaveher2extrastratstartcuzitotallydidntknowhisdefwasthathigh Nice level. Get str. This is when I realize Louise's support is locked. I WONDER WHEN I'LL GET PENT. Wire's palette is hellah ugly Strrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Nice jump back frame. I really should applaud IS for their nice sprite working. Wire actually dodged a 90% hit. This is the frame. -.- I didn't let him dodge on the next turn. DAMN IT GIRLS, GET MAG OR STR. Fin Growths [spoiler=Hurrdurrchap11units] Louise: Monk Hp: 50 Str: 50 Skl: 35 Spd: 15 Def: 80 Res: 15 Lck: 65 (I buffed Spd and Res by 15. They both were 0 ._.) The fact that Louise hit speed twice in her 3 level ups pretty much prove RNG can be a bitch. Ninian: Eliwood Lord Hp: 55 Str: 25 Skl: 50 Spd: 45 Def: 45 Res: 45 Lck: 80 OH BOY Ninian looks good! The only stats that's weak is Str, and it's not hardly crippling if I pump her with energy rings. Chapter 12 soontm. Playing it rn.
  21. NOTE:THIS LP IS ON HIATUS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE OFFICIALLY CANCELLED Hello, this is Voidlord with my third attempt at an LP! Hopefully, it will go better than last time (AKA no getting burned out on randomization). Extremely low growths (10% or lower) will be in BOLD, while extremely high growths (100% or higher) will be UNDERLINED [spoiler=Prologue] Because I needed one that's not too hard but lacks easily breakable tutorials Fado sure likes magic users and spooky scary skeletons Lyon sure knows that you're bringing your a-game for evil when you bring a demon Valter is now a crazy axe murderer [spoiler=Growths] Growths: HP: 105% Mag: 60% Skill: 215% Speed: 45% Luck: 5% Defense: 90% Res: 115% Comments: Insane growth in the Defensive areas and Skill, with decent magic and Luck that is four times worse than regular Knoll's Voidlord's rating: 9/10 Cormag Growths: HP: 10% Strength: 60% Skill: 0% Speed: 80% Luck: 10% Defense: 75% Res: 95% Comments: Despite serious Crit and Crit Evade issues, he's usable with his high speed and unorthodox Defense/Resistance growths Voidlord's rating: 6/10
  22. You guessed it, I'm back and I guess I'll play some more Fire Memeblem. My last two LP's failed but this should be pretty easy, I'm super used to Sacred Stones and there's nothing special about this run that would make it any more or less difficult than it is! Edit: this is now an english run because randomizer doesnt work with japanese copy, because everybody is RACIST. Please feel free to post with questions comments concerns criticism praise and everything inbetween, I survive on feedback (seriously it's my lifeblood) edit;modified title because sheep mode wasnt really saying what it was
  23. Teq here, with yet another LP. I too feel the need to investigate this hot new randomizer schtick, and I shall do so in the most obnoxious way: by making y'all watch me play it. I'm following Klok's rules in his randomizer thread, with one exception: all growths have a minimum of 5%. This works out to 1.8 levels over 38 level-ups on average, so it's hardly gamebreaking. The rules! I'll be posting growths at the end of the chapter; until then, I don't know them. For the most part I expect my characters to be absolute shit and my life will be a living hell because of this. [spoiler=Prologue] Yeah, let's make things a little more lively, shall we? Well, our lord has swords, which is nice in the earlygame, has halfway decent stats, and a really nice HP pool. I think I could like this one. Only drawbacks are his low movement and strength, and that slim sword isn't helping his damage output. Our Jeigan is...holy crap, 19 speed? Sure, that's 17 speed with iron axes, but this gal is going to double pretty much everything in the earlygame. Great defense and HP; I don't care how bad her growths are, she's getting used. I'm really glad Eirika didn't become a revenant or something; O'Neill would rip her apart with his thunder tome. Fortunately, my guys can handle him. Saleh starts this run off with a bang. Tana nods approvingly in the background. Saleh goes on a forest to gain some evade. Tana runs off, just in case that fighter decides she's a more tempting target. And now I need her. Lovely. She can ORKO, but she'd get OHKO'd if she didn't crit, so I have her heal up as a precaution. She gets the kill, no big deal, no big fuss. End of Prologue [spoiler=Growths (Saleh, Tana)] Saleh: HP: 15 Strength: 70 Skill: 60 Speed: 5 Luck: 5 Defense: 35 Resistance: 55 He has a pretty high HP base, so I'm not terribly concerned about his low hp growth, but the speed is disheartening. He'll just have to whip out lots of crits. Defenses aren't terribly bad, either. Definitely not as bad as Terrador's revenant Eirika. Tana: HP: 20 Strength: 10 Skill: 60 Speed: 40 Luck: 60 Defense: 100 Resistance: 5 Her high speed base and ok growth compensate for the low strength growth. In fact, it's even better, so she function as a chipper and not steal so much xp. Can actually hit things with axes. Great defense and is guaranteed to cap before 20/20, but she'd better avoid mages like the plague. I actually had chapters 1 and 2 written up as well and accidentally backspaced. I'll rewrite them tomorrow.
  24. There's been a huge spate of people doing randomized FE8 LPs on Serenes' Forest after Klok started one, But I'm noticing a painful dearth of other games... So, I'm going to try one myself! I actually started this LP on imgur because I couldn't figure out how to insert the screenshots, so the first three updates are going to be transposed from there. I think I get it now, though - so without further ado, let me introduce: FIRE EMBLEM SEVEN : RANDOMIZED! I'm using the Universal GBA FE Randomizer by OtakuReborn; you can find it here: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55809&page=1 These are my settings. Seeing how characters would fare if they had been placed in different classes is one of the things I like most about randomizers, so I'm not randomizing anything except for classes, affinities, and recruitment. I'm actually not the biggest fan of random recruitment either, but I'm figuring it'll make for an interesting run. Anyways, the odds are in my favour that this'll mean getting Nino early! (I never really caught up with the tier-making fanbase's switch from growths-favouring to bases-favouring, so expect to see me babying weak units and neglecting prepromotes a lot .) I didn't randomize Thieves because I hate leaving resources un-plundered, and I didn't buff enemies because I'm not good enough at this game yet to need extra challenge. Let's jump right in! [spoiler=Prologue and Chapter One] I'm going from Lyn hard mode to either Eliwood hard or Hector normal. I've never played through Hector mode, so I kind of want to try it, but Eliwood mode is more proof against getting screwed by the randomizer in the first few chapters. Don't expect me to cover the story cutscenes. The point of a randomizer playthrough is extra gameplay for people who already know the game, and anyways, I find it jarring to have characters talking in cutscenes that don't exist in my party. Is... is that...? It is! Hector Lord Lyn! This is gonna be great, I can just feel it! Lyn's new palette seems pretty nice. Batta never stood a chance. Speed and defense... Could be better, but I'll take it. I'll also have to screenshot levels a bit later than I did here, it looks like... From what I've heard, Lyn mode characters don't get randomized recruitment, because they're actually different versions of themselves from the ones you get in Eliwood/Hector mode, so that's why nobody's been replaced by a different character so far. Annnd here are my new Kent and Sain! Funnily enough, I've had both of these versions of them before - in my first randomized run, which used Ephraim and Klok's randomizer and is currently stalled at BBD, had Troubadour Kent, and more recently I tried starting a run that got Female Archer Sain. At least this time Sain didn't spawn with a Ballista... I'm rather liking the utility of Kent's inventory here, it's a pity it'll get wiped at the end of Lyn mode. I had Lyn weaken the bandit so that Sain could finish it, and this is the thanks I get? Kent doesn't look too bad as a troubadour. That's better. It's good to know that first miss was just a fluke, and now Sain's gonna be his (her?) usual awesome self... right? ...Of course not. Operation Feed Sain Kills is not going as planned, thanks to her (his?) stupid poison bow and its terrible accuracy... At least I have an earlygame healer to make up for it. That's right, Lyn, keep luring them in... -sigh- S/he can't even kill this one if s/he hits! Sain, why would you do this to me? Annnd EXP is lost to Sain's poison bow... blast. Alright, Sain, you get one more chance... Screw it, I'm giving Lyn the kill instead. Here are our stats against the Nino-boss. Guess I'll give Sain one more shot at redemption... Huh, Zugu's palette isn't half bad. Sain, you're not supposed to be this disappointing! ...At least this might do something about that hit-rate... [spoiler=Premonition: A Glimpse of Friends to Come] I decided to make a little mini-update to show off our other two Lords so that you can select which route I'll be taking! Let's take a sneak peek at our first option, Eliwood Hard Mode. So we have a thief, a mage, an assassin, and a soldier. You're only going to learn about the thief for now, though, as everyone on this screen will join in chapter two of Hector's route, making all but our new Lord unimportant to the big decision. Besides, I have to keep up /some/ suspense, don't I? It's Jaffar! And he's looking awfully tough, too. I mean, just look at that! Only level 1, and four out of six stats are already in the double digits! While having a thief lord could be interesting, and chapter one on this route is less likely to potentially screw me over, it obviously means less chapters. Now for the other possibility, Hector Normal Mode. Sorry, HHM fans, but I like my sanity. ...Somehow I have a feeling that I won't be worrying for a lack of thieves this playthrough. It's none other than the legendary Sword Demon, here to bathe his blade in the blood of our... uh... our... banes? Nah, I can't think of a way to keep that alliteration going. Anyways, if you thought Jaffar was strong, well... it appears Karel isn't one to be outclassed. Maybe I should have buffed the enemies a little, after all... Ah, well. Karel will definitely be able to promote earlier than Jaffar could, and he's got a nifty 60-use weapon for us! He also has 10s or better across the board. He might have a bit of trouble with those pesky lance-users, though... Which route will I be going? you decide! Should I go Jaffar Hard at the expense of a few chapters and two characters, or should I go Karel Normal and hope like heck that I can get my hands on some dough? (...get it? Since one of the Hector mode exclusive characters is Fari-never mind, it was dumb.) Just vote at the poll here: http://strawpoll.me/5105764 I /would/ make it a poll on this thread, but I already have upwards of 20 votes on this one, and I'm afraid things would just get mixed up if I tried to use both. Don't get too worried about taking a while to decide, though - I won't be counting up the results until the end of Lyn Mode. Of course, constructive criticism and feedback are appreciated! There's just one more update to transpose from imgur, but it's the longest one yet, so it may take a little while.
  25. HI FRIENDS I'm Breezy and we're doing a Pokemon Randomizer I was planning on doing an Emerald one but it wouldn't work and LeafGreen is also green so they are totally the same game right?
