  1. This isn't a Skill Request Thread. If you are looking for specific skills, go to one of the Skill Request Threads like this one: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=61825&hl= Post here any skill combinations/skill sets that you (or someone you know) thought of. Write for what character is the skill set, for what class, if you do have/use the skill set, and how to use the character. Try to avoid including hacked skills. The children can have any non-enemy-exclusive skills because they can inherit any skills their parents have, and you can save the character with their skills if you defeat Anankos. If you come up with a better combination of skills quote your original previous post and write what you would change. Don't be afraid of commenting about a skill set; constructive criticism is always good (just write a real explanation of why you would like for it to be different). If you did not make the skill set by yourself, please, remember to give credit to the original creator. WARNING: THIS THREAD WILL CONTAIN OPINIONS. NOT EVERYTHING WRITTEN HERE IS A FACT, SO DO NOT START SAYING WHAT IS STATISTICALLY THE BEST SET OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. BE RESPECTFUL. These are the skill sets I have come up with: 1) Charlotte as a Berserker (A Berserker's Axe can help with this set if used right, but Killer Axe is practically a necessity): Vantage, Death Blow, Strength +2, Axefaire, and Swordbreaker. This set is used by getting Charlotte to 50% HP and then hoping she gets crits, so she will need as much skill and luck as possible (I expect that max strength is a given). This set is not recommended for attacking other castles because of the effects of the building in castle battles makes it VERY hard to crit. I have Death Blow, Axefaire, and Vantage. 2) Veloria as a Wolfssegner (Beastrune will be the most efficient weapon for this set): Beastbane, Trample, Certain Blow, Poison Stike, and Grisly Wound. This set is a physical tank killer; use Poison Strike and Grisly Wound to deal damage after every battle to the tanks. Trample and Beastbane are for dealing extra damage to most units (everyone by mounted dragon units). Certain Hit is just to not miss. I am still looking for ways to make this set a little better, but no such luck right now. I have everything here except for Poison Strike. 3) Benny as a General or Great Knight (if you don't want/can't use Boots on Benny): Defence +2, HP +5, Wary Fighter, Lancefaire, and Heartseeker. This set is based around the idea that Benny will hit practically anything it battles thanks to Heartseeker + Fierce Mien (Benny's personal skill). Also, Def and HP are what keeps Generals alive (alongside Wary Fighter), so why not some more of that. Lancefaire is totally replaceable for any other skill you would like. I have everything here except for Heartseeker. 4) Shiro as a Spearmaster (I want him to be a Spearmaster to have a higher Skill-Cap and also a passive crit bonus): Hoshidan Unity, Astra, Rend Heaven, Quixotic, and either Luna. This set is just to attack and hope he procs one of his skills, so don't use any lances that block him from using his skills (Peri's Lance > Javelin and no Bronze/Brass Weapons). Any aggressive trigger skills can be put here in place of Luna, Rend Heaven and Astra (e.g.: Vengeance and Aether). I suggest not giving Shiro a Bolt Naginata either for the same reason for the Javelin. I have the whole set. Everything edited is in bold.
  2. Now as we all know, the skill system has been in Fire Emblem for almost the entire series(I believe starting in...FE4...maybe...haven't played FE3). It honestly didn't really hit it's stride till FE9(and REALLY taking off in FE10)...and here we are now. (Also, just to say now, my best points of references are gonna be FE9 and FE10. So unless FE4 differs in a way, let me know please) Now, as a whole, the skill system pretty much broadens the capabilities of your units in various ways. From skills like Wrath that raises your crit rate when at low health, or Vantage that allows you to attack first in battle, or even Aether which...well...most of you know. Pre Awakening, skills were only there to change very small (but possibly significant) things in battle. Awakening and Fates made skills that not only has even more skills that fit a class, but they allow you to equip a whole range of skills as well! It's a really cool system, however...I feel like maybe they've gotten a bit too...broad. What I mean is that it kinda has come to a point where skills have gone from "abilities that help give you an extra edge in battle" to "abilities that will determine a battle". Skills usually help you in small, but somewhat big way. However, I feel like some of the new skills kinda throw a whole new wrench into tactics. It's like the skills play more of a factor then the character's stats do...if that makes enough sense. Look at the skills in RD and look at the ones in Fates to compare them. (Sorry in advance since there is a LOT! Also, didn't have Awakening part of this since most of the skills in that game are in Fates, so..yeah.) Radiant Dawn Skills Fates's Skills Notice how the skills in RD are much more...simplified. Also, minus Mastery skills, they give small boosts and may help you in certain situations. For the ones in Fates, there are SO many skills that do SO many things and while some do give small boost, others...give you major boosts in capabilities. So much so that just having them equip can really determine how things will go in a fight! Now to be fair, I think my feelings toward the skills more got to do with stuff like reclassing that lets you grind for skills of almost any class and MyCastle...which literally lets you buy them! This allows you to put whatever skills you wanted on any unit without much restriction. In FE9 and FE10, you could equip certain skills to your units, but you were quite limited in who could get what. Only skills like Shove, class skills, and mastery skills were guaranteed to you(well, more so in FE10). Everything else, either you were one of the few units who came pre-equiped with that skills or you had to wait till you acquired that skill in order to equip it. Even then, you were limited by your capacity(pretty much your badge points from Paper Mario or kinda like say Materia from Final Fantasy 7 in a way). Each skill had a certain "capacity" to them. Most characters started out with around 20 capacity(kinda varies on the class), but you were given more when promoted(also, while the capacity is quite high for some skills, for those who may not know, you had three class tiers in RD. By third tier, you get 60 capacity...although some of that is token up by your master skill, so more so around 30, which was still enough for at least maybe 2 or 3 skills). That means you were limited in what skills you could get and how many you could get....which for RD was ESPECIALLY needed since a lot of these activated by skill (no, the hit rate one ) and you're most likely capping most of your stats by endgame(most characters skill cap around 50 or so) sooo....you kinda become destruction incarnate(even more so when you combine certain skills together on certain units)! ...And it was glorious... While Skills did help you gain an edge in battle, or even help someone be more effective in battle, your own abilities were the main factors in a fight. They weren't always active and while sometimes they did activate, sometimes they didn't. You had to rely on your own fighting ability to make it through a fight if the skills weren't active(although, sometimes they could even activate at the right time and save your unit's life). Now, is this system completely balanced? Probably not, but it did limit what skills could be on a character and you couldn't just throw whatever you wanted on them...making so that you couldn't put the best skills on almost every person and blaze through enemy line(that's what your main stats were for )! Is that to say I hate the current skill system? No. I think it's pretty cool and gives you a bit more freedom, but since almost everyone has access to all these skills and can possibly all have them on at the same time...tactics could possibly take a back seat(and kinda gives you a bit too much freedom). It's quite flawed(I mean both kinda are, but it's more glaring with this current system). Personally, I would wish for the skill system in RD to come back(specifically the one in RD since in PoR/FE9, you could still equip skills, but if you took them off, you would lose them for good and the game never tells you this for whatever freakin' reason...WHY PoR, WHY?! In RD, they thankfully fixed that and let you take off and put on skills as much as you want...so if you weren't using a specific character, but they had a good skill like Paragon or Blossom...or both, you could take it off them and stick it on someone else that you're using) OR...maybe somehow fuse the two systems together! Of course, this will kinda depends on how future games structures itself, but I think they could still work it in somehow...especially with more powerful hard ware and ram(?) then the the 3DS (Like for example...you have 6 skills slots. 3 are reserved for Shove the best skill for everyone, your class skill, and your mastery skill. You can equip whatever skill you wanted on the other three...as long as you have that skill to equip in the first place)! And those are my general thoughts on the Skill system and what to possibly do with this system in the future. Soooooo...what do ya think? Think this is a good idea, a bad idea, a stupid idea? I like hearing other thoughts and ideas!
  3. Sometimes, some of these "mediocre" characters have some awesome skills that make up for their relatively poor rarity. Let's list them below: Breaker Skills (swordbreaker) Effective weapons PS. I don't know if there is already a topic like this. If there is, please feel free to merge this
  4. I was playing Birthright with Hayato as an Onmyoji. He was level 6 and had learned all the usual skills for his class path (Mag+2, Future Sight, Rally Magic) But when he reached level 7, he learned miracle, and then rally luck on level 8! So tbh I dont see how this can happen. Although the Onmyoji class is a promotion from both Diviner and Monk classes, the first class in Hayato's class set is diviner (and he doesnt have access to the Monk class by default). Also, he didn't use any seal apart from the master seal used to promote him. Maybe the fact that he married Sakura had an influence in some way? I'd be happy to know if anyone has insights about this.
  5. So guys, I've looted a lot of Idolaspheres and got several Master Seals. I want to get all the good session skills by switching each character to both options and get all the good skills. Question is, if it is adviceable to do it now in the middle of Ch. 5, or should I get all the class exclusive skills and then switch to the other option? An extra question is if one gets unlimited Master Seals at some point of the game?
  6. I'm playing Awakening right now, planning on getting all the kids and going a little crazy in terms of skills I have passed down to them. I'm planning to pass down Galeforce to Owain and Inigo, but what about Brady? It feels wrong to me passing down Galeforce to a healer even though I know he could become good offensively eventually, so could I be missing an opportunity for him? I know it'd probably be best to pass down a Troubadour/Valkyrie skill anyway, but any advice on which one? Speaking of, should I do the same for Laurent and Gerome just for the sake of them having female-exclusive skills? May they find any good use for any Troubadour/Valkyrie skills? I'd be willing to reclass Miriel, but not Cherche.
  7. Hi! I´ve been looking for that skills but I can´t just find them. Does someone have they? If so , could you give your castle address to acquire they? Thanks!!
  8. The title says it all. And if you have A Laslow with these skills. Could you please put your Castle Address? I am looking for getting him with a bunch of criticals.
  9. Can someone give me the optimal pairings for good children in FEF: Birthright + the best skills to be equipped for each character ? ( My avatar is female and I don't have Kaze) Thankyou.
  10. So I'm attempting to run a Castle that can be seized easily for skills. I'm a bit new to the concept though. Any tips on what to do to both attract people and make it really easy for people that visit? A few notes though: - It's a Birthright castle, so I cannot provide skills for Nohrian characters or Fuga. - My avatar is pretty powerful, so even if you're on Conquest or Revelation you can still recruit him. Give him a Great Club and he'll proc a skill or get a crit on almost all units. - There will not be any illegitimate skills whatsoever. This means no Aptitude or anything on 1st gen units. The castle address is 18155-86561-61595-16084
  11. Heya I'm looking for help on FEF: Birthright on how to create strong children but since skills matter also I'd appreciate some help on what skills to equip to pass onto the children also, or what I should reclass each character to to get the skills needed. (should mentioned my avatar is female and I don't have a Kaze but I'm going to create another save file to get him) Seals I have: Master Seals, Heart Seals, Partner Seals, Friendship Seals, Eternal Seals, Witch's Mark, Hero's Brand, Exalt's Brand. 12. Hello! I am Hithere. (yep) I am new to this forum and I wanted to help out the community. If you would like a certain skill(s) I can get try it for you. I'd be happy to help. Rules if you want to help: 1. Have your castle address in your reply 2. State if your castle is of Hoshido,Nohr,or Valla. 3. Have your avatar and castle names 4. Please no DLC or hacked skills (ex: Aether, Beast shield, etc...) (aptitude is fine) 5. Make sure you tell us what units you do and don't have. Address: 11271-01948-38629-59485 Valla Avatar name: Kamui (Default avatar) Castle name: Skill Rotation Units I don't have: Charlotte Benny Orochi Soleil Velouria Ignatius Shiro Let's begin! Edit: I am in the NA Region. Also if you are from the castle code thread, welcome.
  13. I have been training my units for Castle Battles, but I have some trouble with the Dark Falcon skills set. My current Dark Falcon is Elise because she has godly amounts of Magic and Speed, so she can hit hard and double most slow units. I am still in the process of training her Skill stat and I wanted to know some ideas for skills that I could give her while I train. I want to make her a glass cannon. The way I think would be most effective is killing to physically defensive units with low Res and then running away thanks to Galeforce (which is the reason why she has the movement stat at 10). The skills I have right now are Galeforce, Movement +1, Speed +2, Relief, Miracle, Resistance +2, Demoiselle, and Rally Movement. The classes she can turn into are Wyvern Lord, Malig Knight, Strategist, Maid, Blow Knight, Adventurer, Omnyoji, and Priestess. Does anyone know what skills could work well with this set?
  14. So I recently picked up a Powersaves device and being extremely curious, decided to play around with putting enemy-only skills on the characters in my (completed) Birthright file (which will never be used for online play). I found a few interesting subtleties and interactions, but the biggest surprise was how well the game handles (from a "correct behavior" standpoint) player units having skills they shouldn't. All of them that I tested (listed below) work as advertised with only the most minor of exceptions, and none of them caused any glitches I could detect. Here's all I found out. Some of this information might already be known, but a lot of it I couldn't find anywhere. These facts could be useful if you want to know what to look out for when facing enemies with these skills, or you want to do a for-fun run of the game using some enemy skills, or you want to maybe incorporate them in class skill trees in a ROM hack, or you are just curious about the intricacies of the game's mechanics. General notes about Powersaves and skills: Here's some trivia about the various skills I tested: Inevitable End Staff Savant Immobilize Hit/Avo +10, +20 Resist Status/Immune Status Dragonskin/Divine Shield Final Question: Do you think any of these skills could have been made available to player units without destroying the game's balance? Some are obviously way overpowered, but others I'm not so sure about....
  15. I have (Or I will atleast soon) have really good skills on some of my characters from my other save files. My main Revelation file is the one I want to be the skill and competitive castle. Is there any way to bring them over? I can't visit them it says,
  16. Hey, guys! I've been playing through Revelations again and got both Counter and Countermagic on my Avatar. I got to the boss without too many problems (Hana be praised) and placed my Avatar directly in front of her. She attacked my Avatar magically for 20 damage, triggering Countermagic, which suddenly did 40 in return, killing her. My question is: Do Countermagic and Counter stack? Or was it some kind of glitch?
  17. I had a thought. While this could work for other games in the franchise, it seems really neat for Fates. What if Intelligent Systems inputted a Challenge Mode, whereupon they designed maps/mini-maps based on learning the usefulness of skills and practical advantages to having certain skills? Ideas I have had are: 1) Lunge-Attack Stance. Set up two characters surrounded by two enemies with stairways on the opposite side to the player: SEPPES S: Stairway E: Enemy P:Player Reinforcements pop up from the stairway where an opponent has been killed. Players must make use of Lunge skill in conjunction with Attack Stance to protect partner, or block a stairway. Challenge is affected by difficulty setting. 2)Poison Touch/Grisly Wound/Savage Blow Units must one round each enemy they come across. Enemy can one shot a unit on enemy phase, and challenge rule is no deaths allowed. Enemies are positioned so that careful field placement will ensure being able to close in from outside range. Player must stack damage with skills in the right order depending on enemy (weapon triangle, bonus damage etc) to one round. 3) Attack-Guard Stance A semi-tank unit is plugging a wall while enemies pour in in single file. Some have ranged weapons too. Player must make use of secondary unit pair up for guard stance and attack stance whenever the situation demand it to survive a set number of turns. What do you guys think would be the response if this sort of thing was implemented? Also feel free to add any ideas you think would be really cool in the comments below! :D
  18. So I'm trying to get the Battle and Visitation Seals and was thinking whether it'd be possible to get them in one week alone. I'd love to test this out and see just how many I could get if we tried. I have some rare skills for the children characters for you, if you can help! Ask for a skill and I will try to update with that skill ASAP if I have it. My Castle Address is: 14242-89262 81075-83346. Thanks to anyone in advance!
  19. Hello Serenes, sorry for a very brief question post, but I was just wondering if anyone can give me a " tier list" of the skills in the game. Be it PVP or solo, it may say weird, but I don't really care which one you give me. I saw one once, but foolishly didn't save/follow it. I'm not really one for tiers for skills really, but I just want to gauge a few skills. Thanks for your help in advance!
  20. (Look at what the personal skill does here for Hoshidan characters, here for Nohrian characters and here for other / DLC characters) So basically this thread is about discussing the personal skills of the Fire Emblem Fates characters. Some of these skills are unique such as Odin's Aching Blood, while others are really similar to each other (Orochi's Capture and Niles' Kidnap). I really think Midori's Lucky Charm is probably the best personal skill. 20% is great and can make builds like 100% Miracle builds.
  21. What skills should I have on my Laswald/Laslow? I currently have Rend Heaven, Duelist's Blow, Strong Riposte and Good Fortune. Apparently, Line of Death/Life and Death are really good on him.
  22. I'm creating this thread as a guide to help show which skills are exclusive to certain units. It amount of people unaware of hacked skills seems problematic now. This will show you what skills can be learned by which characters, and how to spot a hacked skill on another team. >-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------< Enemy-Only Skills Enemy-only skills that obviously not be learned by playable units by any normal means. Note: If an enemy unit with one of these skills is captured, they will lose the skill. Therefore, they still should not be able to use these. Dragonskin Divine Shield Hit/Avo +10 Hit/Avo +20 Resist Status Immune Status Void Curse Self-Destruct Staff Savant Immobilize Inevitable End Skill Scrolls There are currently thirteen enemy only skills that can be learned using skill scrolls obtained from DLC. However, four of these are currently unavailable. These are as follows. Bold Stance Winged Shield Beast Shield Armor Shield Note: You can also count the Memories of Foam "Taker" scrolls that aren't out as of now. Playable Character Skills These are skills that can be learned by playable units, but are limited to certain characters. This means avatars with these skills did not obtain them through legitimate means. Evenhanded: Kaden, Selkie, Kana, Shigure Even Better: Kaden, Selkie, Kana, Shigure Odd Shaped: Keaton, Velouria, Kana, Shigure Better Odds: Keaton, Velouria, Kana, Shigure Beastbane: Kaden, Selkie, Keaton, Velouria, Kana, Shigure Grisly Wound: Kaden, Selkie, Keaton, Velouria, Kana, Shigure. Note: DLC skills can not be bought, therefore a unit that shouldn't have a skill because of their gender are hacked units. Avatar-Only Skills These are skills that can only be used by the avatar and all children. Nobility Dragon Fang Draconic Hex Dragon Ward Nohrian Trust Hoshidan Unity Other Information DLC skills can NOT be inherited, so a male Kana with Shadowgift for example, is hacked. With the exception of Candace, captured units are limited to their class line's skills and DLC skills. Candace can NOT reclass at all, and is limited to Locktouch, Movement +1, Lucky Seven, and Pass if an Eternal Seal is used on her, along with scroll skills. Candace is best waifu >-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------< Well, I hope this guide helped anyone out. This took me at least two hours to put together. There are people (such as myself) that are cautious on purchasing hacked skills from other castles. I don't support skill hacking, but it's your choice on whether you'd like to purchase these skills or not. It isn't very common to find a castle with enemy-only skills, but having them on your units can possibly get your save file shadowbanned.
  23. So we have threads (that haven't been touched in a while) for the best and worst personal skills, and since we have a thread dedicated to creating a class, why not go ahead and make up our own skills? Personal skills to, since the best and worst threads got me thinking. I'm not going to do anything like scream for creativity (bring back Wrath from Awakening) or game balance (Increase damage by +5 when at weapon advantage), or hell even alter existing skills (Scarlet's personal activating at 50% hp), but I do want to request (for as long as it can stand up) that you don't try to make a CLASS at the same time. There is already a thread for that, as linked to above. Now, what will you make? What would you replace the Avatar's personal with to make them more like yourself? What personal skill would the unique characters (Kotaro, Garon, Iago, Mikoto, etc.) have in your mind? What about capturable characters (Candace, Tarba, Gazak, etc.)? Just to start, I'll throw out what I think would be Zola's personal skill. Illusional: Use as a command to change to another character deployed on the map until the next turn, at which point the illusion will wear off. All weapons, skills, and stats will copy the chosen character.
  24. People seem to see it be famous for 100% Miracle activation, but I see it as what it truly is: 100% chance to get 7 bullions, 7 stat tonics, and a Hoshido Iron weapon per every kill But I'd like to actually confirm if it really is the BEST Midori, as opposed to just giving her Miracle and trusting it'll activate a lot. Plus we can discuss it if need be. For reference... [spoiler=How to achieve 100% luck skill activation (assuming you are in Revelations)] Midori needs to be the daughter of a mother who gives her the highest Luck modifier. Only two mothers outside of Luck boon Avatar do this: Mozu and Elise, as they bring her luck to an even 0 modifier. Midori needs to be a Basara, Falcon Knight, or Great Lord, the classes tied for second-highest Luck cap in the game available to Female units. As it is, Basara is the easiest to get without much sacrifice since you only need to A+ with Selkie, while Falcon Knight requires marriage to Shigure or Male Avatar/Kana with Sky Knight talent, and Great Lord is currently limited in availability. Midori needs the Luck +4 skill, which can be bought from castles or via inheritance from Azura on a previous file. Midori needs a Luck Tonic, which increases Luck by 4 for one battle. Midori needs to be in a Guard Stance with a Basara, who offers +5 luck, the highest possible without utilizing Support bonuses. This means you can just go and capture Daichi, a generic Basara, or reclass a Diviner/Spear Fighter/Spear Master/certain Onmyoji into one as opposed to having a more valuable unit act as pair-up fodder. The players My Castle requires all 7 Luck statues in the game (Felicia, Hana, Setsuna, Charlotte, Anna, Mitama, Percy). At this point, Midori should have 55 total Luck. Conquest players will be short 3 Luck while Birthright players will be short 2 Luck, so at this point you might need to exploit support pair-up bonuses. Midori needs the Quixotic and Hoshidan Unity skills to boost skill activation by 15% and 10% respectively. Her personal will boost the activation rate of Luck-based skills by 20%, for a grand total of 45% luck-based skill activation. 55+45=100. At this point Midori just needs two of the three item-giving skills to take advantage of, those being Salvage Blow, Profiteer, and Witches Brew, then go into a map that is easy enough for max stat Midori to clear out, but hard enough that it won't take less than 7 turns, turn on Auto-Battle, and I dunno go to the bathroom, fire up that anime you've been putting off cause you can't read subtitles and Fire Emblem at the same time, read a book/news article. Optionally, if you come up short on BR/CQ, you can always use Lucktaker from Heirs of Fate 1, though this does limit the resources you can get per battle (unless you replace Luck +4 with Lucktaker) Salvage Blow rewards Hoshidan Iron weapons, the kind gotten depending on what the enemy was using upon death (Samurai give Iron Katana for instance). Ox Spirit cannot be obtained this way. Profiteer rewards a Gold Bar for the first 7 turns of battle. These are sold for 300 gold apiece, totaling 2100 gold per battle. Witches Brew claims to give medicine for the first 7 turns of battle, but I only ever get stat tonics, so I assume these are all that you can get. I personally would like confirmation if an Einherjar Midori will work alongside your current files Midori.
