  1. Has anyone else played this awesome series? This isn't counting Tactics Ogre which is basically its own series. I'm talking about the RTS like Strategy RPG's, one for the SNES called March of the Black Queen, and the other known as Ogre Battle 64 or "Person of Lordly Caliber". There is also Gaiden on the Wonderswan which I need to play still. They remain two of my favorite games of all time, with very unique mechanics, class systems, morality (The chaos frame system), along with its cool quizes on starting the game which determined your starting battalion, and in the original it determined your MC's moveset. Both games while having similar mechanics work fairly differently, in SNES you have to use Gald to deploy units and you get a stipend from the people, but if you take too long or your chaos frame goes down they will start supporting you less and less. 64 was more tame, but also hid the chaos frame system, which you had to use a unit of a certain alignment to liberate towns, to get 0.5 a chaos frame point while capturing decreased it by 2, also story choices in both games affected your frame. Be it just recruits of the special units available or things you do. There is alot more to it, this site describes 64 in pretty good detail Both of these games were on the Wii virtual console as well, not sure about Wii U. I really want a sequel, but I doubt it'll ever happen. There isn't even a game that plays anything like it. People said Last Remnant was like Ogre Battle and I found it really wasn't.
  2. Wow it has been awhile since I started a topic so umm yeah title says all what are your favorite chrono Trigger setups? what parties work best for your personal tastes? Mine are. 1.Chrono, Ayla, Marle: Perfect team for me Chrono and especially Ayla for the heavy attacks and Marle for additional damage with Ice 2 and powerful dual techs with Chrono And eespecially Ayla seriously those Ice dual techs with Ayla are devastating I use this steam up till Chrono dies. 2.Ayla, Magus, Marle: Ayla for her very powerful physical attacks, Magus for his magic and later the powerful Dark Matter and Marle for healing+powerful dual techs with Ayla. I use this team as my end game team and usually fight Lavos with this set up works out perfectly.
  3. So, I wanted to play a couple of the older FE games (specifically Genealogy and Binding blade) but the I can't find a working emulator in my phone. Now the thing is, I don't own a computer or laptop so I'm forced to rely on emulators such as GBA4IOS and SNES4IOS and provenance and so on. But recently a lot of them haven't been working GBA4ios and provenance have both been revoked and the SNES and DS emulators keep crashing. I just wanted to ask is there an alternative to the GBA emulator can I stop the SNES and DS emulators from crashing?
  4. Okay so I have played all fire emblem games excluding the Jugdral saga. The reason being is they are very intimidating as I here they are very punishing to the uninformed. So i guess what I am asking is any tips for a newbie. Im not sure if we are allowed to discuss fan translations but does anybody have a link to one for either game (if we aren't supposed to discuss them just don't mention it.)
  5. Hi, I'm Busterman64 and I'm new to Serene Forest (the forums anyway). I've recently had a major Fire Emblem rush and have been playing it kinda non-stop the past couple of weeks (with the start of summer and all). (I beat Blazing Sword 2 weeks ago and I am currently playing Binding Blade, a game I love and kinda hate). Since I've been in a Fire Emblem mood, I've been hearing that FE: Genealogy of the Holy War is pretty good (and I think Thracia 776 too). For someone like me who's played FE 6-11 & 13, (and grew up on 7 & 8) What's it like? I hear there is a patch and I'm interested in playing, but I kinda want to know what to expect. Please and thank you!
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAkIeH1RR00 This is my first time seeing this. [spoiler=If you don't know what this is and don't want to figure it out on your own.] This must be the Japanese trailer for Seisen no Keifu.
  7. The other night I was thinking about the localization of snes games, and then I thought Mystery of the Emblem could have made it to the west. I imagine Nintendo wouldn't have any interest in bringing over the famicom games or bring over FE4 and FE5 considering how late in the snes's lifespan they would have come out. Mystery of the Emblem wasn't that complex of a strategy game and would have been a good way to test the market and see if people liked this kind of game. I imagine if Nintendo wanted to release it in the US it would have been a holiday 94 release. Does any one have any ideas on why they would or wouldn't have released it back in the day on the Super Nintendo
  8. So, I've been playing through FE4, and I have to praise the translators. It's a good patch. I know/ have heard that the ending of the game causes some issues and that some of the conversations bewtween lovers when returning back to base are missing, but those are minor things. Now, I'm wondering about FE5. I've heard a lot of different opinions on this patch. The translation page says it's mostly complete, but I can't find a full list of just what isn't finished. Are there any parts of the game that are unplayable due to this, or should I be fine going through the game as it is?
  9. This hack (as the title says) is based around the Twelve Crusaders. This game is entirely hypothetical as of now, so I'm posting to ask for support from anybody with hacking experience. What will be necessary for this hack: Portrait Replacement Text Editing Event Hacking Stats Editing Characters (Just 12 characters is a little lacking) Script Writing Our numbers are very few right now, so any help would be appreciated. Gamefaqs page: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/564404-fire-emblem-seisen-no-keifu/68377917 Thanks for reading.
  10. so yeah looking at the title a person who has not played much fire emblem will be attempting to beat in which many fire emblem fans consider the hardest fe game. let us see how far i get. And oh no tips please unless if i ask for them. also can anyone tell me where the best translation patch is. i watched mageknight's404 walkthrough and i couldn't understand the weapon names or anything so yeah. another thing can someone tell me how the attack forecast works in this game. hope you enjoy
