  1. I'm going to be straightforward and say that I positively love this chapter for a number of reasons. Two primary (and superficial...ish) reasons why this is the case for me is firstly, that song that plays out before the mission begins. Azura's beautiful singing, glorious dancing, and waterbending aside, there's another reason why I love that song, but I'll get into that in a couple minutes. Second, Keaton. Not only is his warewolf/wolfkin form oddly hilarious as well as awesome, but he makes for a wonderful tank unit that can also hit hard (and will clearly be my key to finally beating Lucina and recruiting her into my army). What's more, he's the second consecutive new tank in a row that TROUNCES Effie in utility - and gives me just technical cause to drop that one-note, stupid-sounding, blindly strength and gym obsessed .... I can't think of an insulting noun that doesn't rhyme with pitch, and I really don't feel like using that right now ... from my party. (I never should have come to realize how heavily changed and stripped her character was in the NA localization from her JP original) But the other thing that makes me rather love this chapter (for the time being) is the underlying implications I'm left with after this chapter concludes. By the end of both Chapters 13 and 14, it's made abundantly clear that basically none of Garon's kids like the guy. However, I'm thoroughly suspicious at how none of them recognized Azura when she was on-stage doing her performance. I mean honestly, how many slender, long-blue-haired dancer/singers that can control water actually exist in Nohr? What's more, how would Azura be set up to give the performance? Being someone who would have only been to Neste for the first time in her life, the likelihood of her actually being billed to perform would be stupidly slim...let alone her being billed to perform a solo act, yet nobody would be at all aware of the fact that a missing princess of Nohr would be performing in a famous Opera House with Venice-styled canoes in a circular moat! As such, I think the events of Chapter 14 was an orchestrated assassination attempt between Azura, and at least Leo and Camilla. I suspect that at some point prior to Corrin's proceeding with the mission to crush the rebellion of Cheve, Azura met up with them, discussed how her singing had the ability to impact dragons/dragonkin in various ways, and with that knowledge in-hand, the three siblings devised this assassination. I'd be willing to bet that Leo gave Garron the idea to head to attend a show at Neste to celebrate his daughter's latest string of victories, especially after the slaughter of Cheve, and it was prearranged that Camilla would direct Corrin there after the Cheve mission was completed, regardless of the outcome. I'm betting if only they'd factored in Iago and found a way to remove him from Garron's side during the show, the singing hit would've been a complete success. But that's just a theory that a child could probably have thought of. Also, I can't begin to figure out how Corrin never thought that it could have been Azura by the simple fact that she looked exactly like her, just with black on rather than white... I call negligible storytelling on that note. Had she not still thought it wasn't Azura in the text leading into the following mission (I only know about it because I'd proceeded afterwards - w/o saving - despite losing three units just to see how the story would pan out from there), I'd have figured she was thinking on her feet and played dumb to protect her; she easily could have been written to be wondering why Azura would try to curse her dad, even if the reasoning would probably seem obvious. As is, however, if my silly theory is actually right, then it just makes Corrin look really stupid...Something that's a bit of a pattern with her characterization. Maybe the writers think stupidity and naivety are the same thing? I dunno... Anyway, what are y'alls thoughts on the matter?
  2. So I am really frustrated by the fact that it turned out that the Nohr side expies turned out to be the same characters from Awakening. Not because I disliked Awakening, but rather because I did like Awakening. The problem I have is that by doing this they've tied Fates to Awakening, when I feel like the two should have been allowed to stand on their own. What's worse it seems like IS went out of their way to screw with Awakening's canon and story as much as possible. In addition to rendering any pairings involving those 3 non-canon, it screws with the plot in other ways with support between Owain and Ophelia making it seem like Fates is somehow in the distant past while also being its own timeline, and that Not!Tharja's supports with M!Kamui imply she and him are reincarnations of Tharja and M!Robin, while her supports with F!Kamui imply the exact opposite (that Tharja and Robin are reincarnations of them!). All of this has left me with so much anxiety, as this completely messes with Awakening's story and characters, and I doubt this will ever be cleaned up. Because lets face it, I doubt the Japanese fanbase will complain about this, and even on the slim chance any large number in the west care, they won't pay attention. I am honestly not what I I should even think or do at this point. The game has literally made me feel less excited to continue the replay of Awakening I started a couple weeks ago or keep writing my Awakening fanfiction. What do you guys think? Are these implications something I should just accept and deal with?
  3. Has anyone read this support? I carefully selected Sophie for my dear Kana to S-rank and this girl totally friend-zoned him. He tells her he likes her and she says she just likes him as a friend only. Then they agree to be best friends forever. Are all the children supports non-romantic or did I just pick a bad match for Kana?
  4. So with all the new exposure, news, and even spoilers I thought it would be interesting to see what the impressions were of Fates' cast. Who are your favorite characters now that you have learned a bit(and for some a lot) more about them? The first two polls are only allowed for a single vote while the others allow for multiple votes since there so many characters. Please keep it friendly and have fun! :
  5. New Pokemon games. Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun. Honestly, I didn't think they could milk from Digimon this much but this could be Pokemon's 7th Gen installment and maybe for NX. The information and exciting news was leaked during some files transferring of some sort.
  6. So, I've been playing Birthright, and... Kaze is dead. He died at the end of chapter 15. I think Kaze is my favorite character in this game so far, and I couldn't be more sad about losing him. He was the absolute coolest. A real bro to the very end. I'm at chapter 20 now, and I'm convinced he's not coming back. His entry in the unit roster even says he's retired. My first question is now that I've let his passing go, is there anything I can do to remember him by? Unfortunately, I never got a statue for him, so I can't build a monument in his honor in my castle. Is there any accessory I can buy that matches his likeness at all? I currently have a level 2 accessory shop. Now, I had already caught wind of this situation pre-release, but I tried to ignore it. I remember seeing someone say you should get A-rank support between Kaze and the avatar before that chapter in order to save him. Is that true? I remembered that in the back of my head and was aiming for that A-rank, but I only got to B-rank. It felt like it became really obvious with how the C and B supports lead up to what he ultimately revealed to the avatar before his death. Maybe he reveals the truth in the A support to save himself the trouble later. Finally, what about Conquest? I'm playing that next and I want to make sure Kaze stays alive. Does he have a chance of dying there too? If so, can it be prevented, and how? Try not to spoil any story details if you can.
  7. Again, there are plot spoilers here. Sorry if this was brought up before, but judging by the My Room lines from Azura, it looks like you can still totally marry her, even though she's your cousin. Think NoA changed the story a bit to make it so there's no blood relation, or did they go full incest?
  8. In an attempt to talk about something other than the news surrounding the exclusion of several particular features, I would like to hear what your favorite support conversations are in FE: Fates. On a similar note, if you don't have any favored ones (or if you do), I'd like to know which pairings you wish were available. My favorite support conversation would have to be that of Niles (Zero) x Arthur (Harold). Straight from the C-rank, I felt that it expressed a good bit of character depth from them both. Zero was portrayed in a different, more vulnerable light than the sadistic rogue and Harold showed a sense of shrewdness and perceptiveness one would not except in light of his character stereotype of unlucky, justice-seeking warrior. The bond they cultivated over the course of their support, I felt, was one of the stronger ones out of the various supports available. What I mean, if this were styled after one of the earlier FE support systems, I feel that Zero and Harold would have a character ending together. Going further (and this may be the fan girl in me speaking), I would even say that I would not be mad if Zero and Harold were able to achieve S-rank. In fact, I would probably prefer it over Mamui x Zero. I felt the progress from their A-rank was developed enough to be pushed into S-rank. Well, as developed as one can get in Fire Emblem: Fates (and technically Awakening). But, that's just my opinion. For those wishing to read a translation of the support, here you go: http://pastebin.com/LSVUYdZS
  9. Alright so I made it to the final boss. I played through Path of Radiance, transfered data over, and used the characters that received stat boosts, weapon skills, etc from the previous game. I made it through the tower pretty easily. The 3rd floor took a while, but no losses. My problem is with the End Fight. Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't gotten this far. Alright. My team is The forced characters (obvious) Sothe, lvl 10, Peshkatz or whatever its called. Miciah, lvl 10, unfortunately equipped with Nosferatu since her skill wasnt high enough for the SS level weapons, and two physics staves. Sanaki, lvl 8, Cymbaline Ike, lvl 20, Ragnell Kurthnaga Ena Gareth Nasir Bastian, lvl 15, Rexcalibur Volke, lvl 20, Baselard Stefan, lvl 18, Tempest Sword Mia, lvl 16, Alondite Rhys, lvl 9, 2 physic staves, the staff from the chest in Rebirth 1, Matrona staff, and two of the staves that max heal Aran, lvl 19, Wishblade Haar, lvl 18, Urvan Rafiel, lvl 28, stocked with healing items and laguz items. Keiran, lvl 20, Forged Silver Axe Shinon, lvl 20, Double Bow Gatrie, lvl 18, Forged Silver Lance As I said I wasn't having a huge problem until the fight. I got through the rest fairly easily, with the 3rd fight taking the longest, but only around 15 or so rounds. My problem with the end fight is I don't have enough Nihil for everyone, and while everyone survives the AoE judge strike, the single target one tears me apart. She always targets Haar, Gareth, or Gatrie. Pretty much the people with the lowest Res. So I took Haar and Gatrie out of the fight. After that she started targeting Kurth and Ena, both of them dropped. I unfortunately have to leave Ena and Gareth in for Blood Pool, and Nasir for White Pool because with that Ike can nearly kill an aura in one round, but I am having a huge problem with the single target attack. Are there any tips for getting through this? I have Nihil on Ike, Nasir, Stefan, and Shinon since they do the most damage in one round.

  11. Hey! So with us so close to the NA release (8 days!!!) (and sorry Europeans :'(), thought I'd make a poll about how unspoiled people have been able to remain towards the plot. I know that I personally, despite my best efforts which apparently are not good enough, have been almost completely spoiled. I'm expecting a lot of others to be in the same boat as I am, but I guess we'll see! The last four options are really only for if you actually cared about being spoiled, so please choose the second if you didn't actually care about it. Only doing this because 8 days is way too long and I need SOMETHING to occupy my time
  12. "Nintendo has issued a statement saying its upcoming Fire Emblem Fates will not contain a scene that involves "gay conversion or drugging" between two characters." http://www.gamespot.com/articles/fire-emblem-fates-controversial-scene-changed-for-/1100-6434035/ + Shara/Syalla's name has been localized to Rhajat.
  13. http://kotaku.com/the-english-version-of-fire-emblem-fates-wont-have-the-1755121353 RIP EDIT: Okay, before people start stressing out for no reason, I want to point one thing out: KOTAKU IS NOT THE MOST RELIABLE OF SOURCES. Again, this doesn't mean that the feature hasn't been removed but it does mean that I'd wait until further confirmation is given out. I'm sorry for being late on editting this.
  14. I saw this topic on r/Fire Emblem one day and thought I’d bring it here. If you could change one thing about any of the Fire Emblem stories, what would it be? This isn’t a general “complain about the story” thread. You can fix ONE thing so make it count! This is a discussion of the plots, so expect some spoilers. For me, I would change… [spoiler=Radiant Dawn] There are no more blood pacts. I was always irritated by how contrived they were and how anyone could be stupid enough to sign one. The worst one is the one Pellius and Michaiah are bound to, which forces them to support Begnion. The change: Michaiah liberates the Daein capital and Begnion’s occupation force is effectively defeated. Michaiah acknowledges that their victory will be short lived because they won’t be able to stand up to the full Begnion army. Lekain, not finding it worth it to spend more resources on occupying Daein offers Michaiah a deal. She can support Begnion in their coming war and be rewarded with full autonomy, or they can get reconquered. Michaiah doesn’t want to help Lekain but knows this is the best way to restore Daein’s sovereignty and keep her friends safe. [spoiler=Fates] There is no ‘behind the scenes’ villain and Garon is the main antagonist. Making Garon a puppet to the true villain makes him a terrible antagonist. Not only is he mustache twirlingly evil, but any moral dilemma of the Nohr siblings turning on him is made null by Garon literally being a monster. The change: The game will now be closer to the original premise. Hoshido is a verdant and peaceful country and Nohr is a destitute and militaristic country. Garon is a brutal but well-meaning leader who wants to conquer Hoshido for its resources. Hoshido is a typical Fire Emblem story but Nohr is about weighing justice and duty to one’s country. It eventually turns into rebellion and reform. [spoiler=Blazing Sword] There is probably some storyline I’d like to tweak but for now I’m quite satisfied. The one change I’d make is for Ninian to live a longer life if married to Eliwood. I know they have Sword of Seals to conform to but it feels like a real dick move to pair Ninian with Eliwood when she would have lived a long and happy life with Nils. So what would you change?
  15. Hello everyone. While I wait for a gas cylinder to arrive to my humble abode and is therefore unable to play, watch or listen to anything in case I miss the call, I thought to myself: "why not write something that tens of people might find mildly interesting in the meantime?", so here I am. Seriously though, is this a common thing abroad? I need to rely on giant tanks to get warm water? If anyone clicked on my thread wondering what the hell Persona is, then it's a JRPG series set in the modern world where teenagers with attitude defeat vaguely evil forces by physical manifestations of their psyche while scoring hot anime studs on the side in the later installments. It's really one of those games you need to play/watch for yourself, but I'll say that the games are actually really good, particularly the latest installment, so if you have any intention of playing a very good JRPG series, leave this thread because it will contain spoilers. On to the rant! I've never particularly enjoyed the story of Persona 3 for various reasons. Don't get me wrong, the story is not downright bad, and I absolutely adore the premise, but the setting of a game is never enough to sell a good immersive experience; it's all in the execution, and that's where the game in question falls short. First of all, I think it'd be a good idea to address the characters. I know this is a bit of an impopular opinion, but I simply don't feel anything for any of them, save maybe Aigis and Junpei. They feel like cardboard cutouts without any real depth, not to mention they hardly interact outside of Tartarus even though they live together; this lack of chemistry makes the character-driven aspect of the story so bland, and the fan service and typical anime moments - while usually bad on their own - get even worse due to the lack of connection between the cast. For instance, when they go to Fukushima, they still act in this stiff, stilted manner, and I immediately remember that I'm playing a game; I have no reason to believe any of them would want to hang out with each other in their spare time. I'd also like to elaborate on a few characters' subplots. Yukari's entire character arc is centered around her father's death, which is all well and good until she starts complaining about people with their normal lives and both parents alive. See, again, I could see her being upset about this but she's SURROUNDED by people in a worse spot than she is! The protagonist's parents both died - something Yukari admits is worse -, Shinjiro and Akihiko are both orphans and Ken's parents were murdered. Junpei's father is an abusive alcoholic and Mitsuru loses her father in the game as well. Instead of coming across as something personal, Yukari's arc feels like a joke. Mitsuru is one of the blandest characters I've ever seen in a character-driven game. She's a straight-a student and heiress of a gigantic company. And of course beneath that cold facade lies a normal person who's...utterly boring and unbelievable. You're telling me she doesn't know how to eat hamburgers because she's rich? What the hell? Look, I've been to Japan, and you see hamburger joints almost as often as in the West; it's impossible for her to have missed what it is. Ken becomes completely irrelevant after his plot is ended with Shinjiro (who tells him he's young and has his whole life ahead of him. Shinji, honey, you're 17) And then we come to another big problem with the cast in this supposed character-driven game: you can only have support conversations with the girls and as a result get forced into multiple romantic relationships, while the guys get completely forgotten. How can you have a game that focuses on characters and their motivations yet leave half of them outside of a system that's designed to give them depth? Fortunately, this gets somewhat remedied in Persona 3 portable if you play as a girl (who incidentally has much more personality than her male counterpart), but the damage is already done for the male route. Speaking of the social links, I'm unimpressed by the majority of them. Don't get me wrong, Hermit, Sun and Tower are really interesting in their own ways, but if you take the Magician which is only about a guy deluding himself his teacher likes him and the Chariot which only deals with a guy not wanting to operate his knee, you'll see that the three good ones are in the minority. Moving on, while a much less important point, I also feel like the design of some characters is on the odd side as well. For a game that takes itself far too seriously, they don't mind including a dog, a kid and a hot robot girl - is there anyone else who's curious as to why they went for the teenage girl look? I know they explain the robots needed to see themselves as humans but...was it necessary for them to look like hot teenage girls? As for the main plot, waiting a month for big monsters to appear feels like padding early on in the game. It was obvious that Tartarus wouldn't disappear with them, but that you needed to reach the top. The game is effectively on a stand still in the beginning, and you spend time recruiting, getting a few pieces of the puzzle and scoring. I suppose what Im trying to say is that the pacing feels off from the very start. For instance, as a player, thanks to the interface, you know about the monsters appearing every full moon, but the others don't - hell, that ghost kid even tells you that, yet the main character doesn't share that information for whatever reason. And now for my biggest complaint about the story: the villains. I don't even know where to begin, and I'm frankly shocked more people don't seem to mention this when talking about this game. Shuji Ikutsuki being a nihilist who has been orchastrating everything makes no sense and isn't even worth being called a plot twist; there's absolutely nothing leading up to his sudden turn to the dark side - hell ,we hardly even get to know him as a person before he's unceremoniously killed off in a cutscene without any further impact on the story. He spouts nonsense about a prophecy and a king, but that is never explained; what prophecy? A prophecy for that man-made disaster that was created a few years ago? Then we have Strega, a group of three people who enjoy having superpowers and supposedly don't care about dying, so they try to stop our heroes. I wonder though, why are these people a threat? They outright state having weaker powers and having a harder time controlling their personas and their leader is sick. Seriously, the most threatening and efficient villain in this entire game filled with hellish monsters and the inevitable doom of mankind is a sick, skinny guy running around without a shirt and shooting people with an ordinary gun. Oh, and they also create a doomsday cult after Nyx is revealed and they survived certain death by the powers of editing. How do they create said cult? By making Takaya "famous on the internet" - no, really, that's the explanation for how they got so popular. That's not the only insult to the player's intelligence, as they want you to believe that almost everyone joins said cult because they're scared, which seems to go against the very main theme of enjoying the short time one has on earth. Finally, there's Nyx, and there's really not much to say about him. The scary ghost kid shares voice actor with Ryouji in both Japanese and English, and since you get such little time with him, there's no time to get attached to his character and care about him being Nyx. I just raise my eyebrows at him not having another choice but to destroy humanity for whatever reason, but we're supposed to just accept that. It's just yet another villain out to kill off the human race, and while they try for a more human approach unlike many other villains with similar objectives, it falls short. That is, in short, some of my major complaints about Persona 3. I'm very curious to hear what you have to say about all of this, and please for the love of god don't just say "well Persona 4 is worse", because that adds nothing to the discussion. I might write a thread about why I like Persona 4 someday where you can complain about it all you want, but for now, let's focus on this game.
  16. Before I start I guess I should say that for anyone wanting to see the movie without spoilers tread carefully as this is a thread meant to discuss the movie after having seen it. I will still post story sensitive information in spoiler tags since the film is new and I strongly advise others do the same for the sake of others wanting to see the movie. Lets get the obvious out of the way first: Well I gotta say I was pretty amazed. Aside from solid acting I thought the filmography and how the scenes were done was great. The film doesn't overuse CGI and the practical effects coupled with on location filming is apparent in a good way here. There were only a few gripes I had with the plot but nothing that destroyed the film or my enjoyment of it one being how the light saber fight at the end was done. But hey no film can be perfect. That being said I did notice how this film seemed to mirror A New Hope quite closely. Whether you consider this a good or bad thing is up to you, but for the most part I think it was executed pretty well while making references to the old stuff that happened while still feeling new at the same time. I think whether you are a casual or big star wars fan its worth it to go see and if you're afraid of it being anything like the prequels put those fears to rest. The rest of this will be pretty spoiler heavy so you have been warned. Mirroring A New Hope: Filmography Casting/Acting Issues/problems Feel free to discuss but please for the sake of enjoyment be nice and use spoiler tags.
  17. For this theory, I'll use default Robin's(the one in Smash 4) as reference, since that's the "deafultest" look possible. Hey there! So recently I've noticed something while playing FE13, and it kinda shocked me when I realized it. We all here know that most children in FE13 inherit their father's hair color, right? And since Robin's hair color is up to the player, most children can have any of the selectable hair colors. Now, very later in the game, we discover that Robin is the child of Fauder/Validar, and that becomes quite the plot point, as it explains how Validar managed to make Robin kill Chrom at the very beginning of the game. He was controlling Robin through his blood, which was related to his own. But here's what I noticed. Robin and Validar do not share their hair color at all. ...Quite shocking, I know. This can mean a few things: 1) Robin could not actually be Validar's child Which seems quite an idiotic thing, since the game explicitly tells otherwise to us, but bear with me for a bit. I think that Robin was some random kid that Validar kidnapped and ended up brainwashing said kid to believe that he was their real father. Maybe he saw the potential Robin had to be Grima's Vessel and decided to seize the opportunity, so as to not take risks. Eventually, something happened to Robin, and that something triggered their memories. That and finding out that they had been lied to the entire time made them flee from Validar's reach, only to be found by GimRey (That's what I'm calling the Robin from the future, who decided to accept being the vessel. Thanks shadowofchaos.)in Ylisse and have their memories disabled until later in the game. The shock from GimRey and their memories made Robin faint, only to be found later by Chrom, Lissa and Fredrick. When Validar controlled Robin, it simply was controlling using Grima's power to seize a good vessel for Grima.Since the fell dragon wanted that too, he lent Validar some of his power, so that he could be reborn as GimRey. Now there might be a few errors within this theory, especially the fact that Robin never seems to mention that, nor does Validar or Aversa. Or the fact that this game seems to love plotholes. But it has enough evidence to make it at least plausible, so I guess it's up for you to decide if you'll believe it or not. Now, onward to "thing" 2. 2) It's just a silly plothole, and I should stop thinking too deep. Don't forget that we are still talking about FE13, and it's tightly-written story. This seems to be enough evidence to break the theory too, so yeah. Or maybe... 3) They may use this not-resolved plotline to make another game in Ylisse that follows Awakening. Which seems likely too, since Awakening revitalized the franchise in the West and is the best selling in the series. Who knows? Like point 2, I won't delve too much into this, as it is real-life speculation. Endgame I'd like to invite you guys to share your thoughts in this thread, be it evidence, criticism or any kind of commentary. After all, this is why people like to come to SF...right? I don't know if someone else already posted something like this, but if they did, sorry in advance. I hope we can spark some nice discussion out of this! And who knows what will happen in the future, right? Thank you for reading until here! Have a nice day!
  18. The recent Star Wars craze led to me re-watching the trilogy, and I remembered the Black Knight from the Tellius games as somebody similar to Vader in more ways than one when thinking about the games randomly. Perhaps the BK is based on Vader, or both are influenced by a shared prototype (perhaps somebody better versed in popular culture would have something to say about this). Think about it: 1. Both are immensely powerful in combat and also exercise great and immediate political significance. 2. Both serve a supreme leader (king/emperor) who seeks to establish full control. 3. Both are introduced early in the story. 4. Both kill an aged fatherly figure to the protagonist, giving the main character a cause for revenge later. 5. Additionally, the relation between the master and apprentice is kept mysterious and ambiguous. 6. The appearance is quite similar, with both villains hiding beneath heavy armour and a memorable helmet. Naturally, the player is culturally conditioned to expect the Black Knight to be an ugly man inside that helmet just as Vader was. 7. The heavy equipment grants the villain with certain powers and/or needs. 8. The real identity behind the mysterious figure is concealed and is central to the plot in both Star Wars and Radiant Dawn (the BK is just that in PoR). 9. The plot behind revealing each villain's identity is equally flawed - just like there was no reason to believe, based on anything extracted from A New Hope, that Vader and Anakin Skywalker are the same entity, with Force!Ben Kenobi's explanation only awkwardly trying to desperately fix the inconsistent story between the episodes, the Black Knight is also suddenly decided to be more than just the Black Knight in the second Tellius game, leaving the player with very little to even question that he could be somebody else entirely based on the first Tellius game. I would argue the BK is more flawed as a character since the player is given no reason to care about Zelgius initially - what does it really mean that he turns out to be the Black Knight? RD's story ties the two together in an arguably artificial manner. 10. The protagonist eventually faces off against the helmeted villain in the finale, yet they are not the real mastermind in each case (I'm not entirely sure about Vader being any better than the Emperor prior to Luke seeing the good side in his father, and even Vader killing the Emperor was not only previously intended by the former in The Empire Strikes Back, but, according to Vader, "foreseen" by the Emperor himself - then again, there's only so much depth you find in the Star Wars films and it's silly to look for any more or indeed some good logic tying the pieces together, much like it tends to be with video games as well). Some of these points of similarity are vague to be sure; however, most likely, the likeness is more than merely coincidental?
  19. So, its nearing Christmas with every second. Remember how much speculating we did before we knew a ton about Fates? Well, this is the thread for what we want/wanted in Fire Emblem Fates. I understand that most of the information about the game is already available with a single search, but who knows what minor things they could tweak in the English release. The slightest of things could be tweaked for a ultimately better installment to release. There were a lot of bugs in the first Japanese release, maybe they fix things like that? This is all yours! Your christmas wishlist about what you hope does/doesn't change, DLC you want to see, ANYTHING! Go crazy! Even though most of our dreams are majorly crushed, who can stop us from wanting what we want? MY CHRISTMAS WISHLIST: No censorship! - This is almost completely confirmed to happen by now, but I still hope and pray that too much isn't changed. Especially character designs. I disagree with changing the way a character was originally designed just to 'please' a western audience. Nothing like Awakenings DLC - Please No DLC missions or DLC characters like are in Awakening. I thought the DLC characters were very boring, lifeless, and they weren't even REAL. Different DLC Depending On The Side You Choose - I think this would be a fun feature to add, making the choice of side even harder. Side with Nohr and have the chance to get characters from Path Of Radiance? Or side with Hoshido and get characters from Sacred Stones? < Not exactly that but something like that ^-^ Localization Of Names Kept To A Minimum - In Fates, clearly Hoshido is eastern styled and Nohr is somewhat western styled. Wouldn't it make sense to keep EASTERN style names in the EASTERN syled country?! Same with western. Posibble Add-On Story DLC - Nothing too deep, but maybe a couple missions 5 years after the time of Fates? Once again this DLC would need to depend on the side you chose. There is a ton more I could list, but I could probably go on for a while. Leave your wishlists below and I hope you have a wonderful day! -HinokaIzBae~ \_(^-^)_/
  20. So, I heard something about how, in all available routes, as a male avatar you can not marry certain women or else you'll leave one of the men out? Can someone explain this? 'Cuz it seems like a silly oversight, and, if true, is something that I hope is given a patch to fix.
  21. It's kinda in the name. 1.) What's the problem with said character that you would like to change, whether it be personality, or stats and skills or class, or even design wise. 2.) What would you want the character to be like or have for everyone to benefit from. E.g. Camilla isn't so motherly to Nohr when she's, basically, nice to mostly you, but if she was kinder and supportive to her whole army, it would be different as it would fit her description appropriately and result in neater writing. Nyx, apart from getting her a jumper, her stats are her main problem. Fix that Skill stat by increasing Growth, or something. It's really bad, defense I kinda get, but that's a little low, too. You simply add an opinion of what you would like to change about certain characters, so it's okay to say what you think of what character you'd like changed. As character personality and backstory is one thing to spoil, story-wise spoils must be kept spoiler tagged.
  22. Hello. So this topic has to do with both Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem: Fates, so I just dropped it here in Fates. I seen a thread like this from a while back, but instead of a poll it was more of an informational text provided to viewers to get a better understanding of Mikoto and Emmeryn. Anyway! This is where the spoilers start. If you continue to read, do not blame me. This will be the third time I've warned you. [spoiler=Emmeryn]So, Emmeryn. Emmeryn sacrificed herself for the sake of her people. Even though her death didn't have much effect, she had good intentions. Emmeryn jumped off the cliff to stop Gangrel from having a reason to be against Hoshido. (Sorry its been a while since I've played Awakening theres probably a lot I'm missing). Emmeryn's death was with good intentions yet did not have much effect on what later happened. Now for Mikoto! [spoiler=Mikoto]Mikoto was the queen of Hoshido, that is before her death saving her child (Kamui/Corrin). Mikoto notices a shadowy figure aiming at Kamui, without hesitation Mikoto jumps in front of Kamui, shielding him/her with her own body. A few seconds after, she died due to the shadow that took over her body. Now that the little bit of background information has been given, who's your favorite? I would like to hear from a few perspectives. Those being: Visual; Who's the best looking only judging by appearance? Personality; Who's got that special attitude? Intentions; Who had the best intentions? Role in the Story; Who did better with their role? Overall; Who is your favorite overall? Please leave all of this below! Thanks for your time in reading this and I hope to read a lot of responses! -Uchu~ \_(^-^)_/
  23. Nyx is a Vampire everyone (jk). Since Nyx has been cursed not to age... How old do you estimate she really is? I personally think around 35 or so. Also, is Nyx a good unit to use? I've heard mixed things about her; but, I need some ideas for her setup/skills/whatever you wanna call it (when I get the game that is). Thanks in advance! ^.^
  24. First, if there's somewhere else I should put this, please tell me. I didn't quite see an applicable topic to ask this in, but if there is, I'd be happy to move it. It's my first time in the forum so I dunno what conventions you guys have. Anyways... Question: Is Marx suicidal? I'm writing an AU fanfic, and this would fit well in the story. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese, and the plot translation I'm reading hasn't gotten far enough for me to confirm if this is actually canon or not. My thought was that his Nyx support implied some suicidal tendencies, but it wasn't brought up anywhere else or truly confirmed so I'm a little hesitant to write it in his character based solely on my analysis of the support. I'm suspicious it could come up or at least be implied again during the chapter you fight him on the Hoshido route, but the story translation I'm reading hasn't gotten that far yet. If it's an actual part of his character, I want to write it into my fanfic sooner rather than later so I can be subtle about it and get all that buildup, but if it's not, then I kinda need to rewrite parts of my plot skeleton. Since I can't really confirm on my own but also can't really wait around for confirmation, I was wondering what everyone else's thoughts on it were. General consensus seems the best substitute given the circumstances. Suicidal, or nah?
  25. If you had the power to do an update, patch, fix, what-have-you for the Fire Emblem If game, or were able to influence Devs before the release of Fates in other countries, what would be the things you would change? Personally, I would change the Marriage and Buddy Seals so you would take on whatever class you didn't already have in your repertoire. Like, If Oboro marries Takumi, She gets Bowman, but he gets nothing because Lance Fighter is his secondary already. I'd make it so he'd get Herb Merchant (Oboro's secondary class) instead. Joker, when becoming friends with Cyrus/Silas/However-you-spell-it, He'd get mercenary instead of nothing. Saizou could become a Pegasus Rider by being friends with Ryouma (I still think it's a little funny that Ryouma can be a Pegasus Knight. Manly man and his pretty pony). Please, if you have a plot spoiler, put it in spoiler tags! Not for my sake, but for others'! Game mechanics are fine, however.
