  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fWPsSUHImQ For those of you unaware, Barkley, Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden is the greatest game in the universe. It tells the epic tale of b-ball legend Charles Barkley in 2053. Basketball was outlawed 12 years ago when he accidentally performed the incredibly dangerous Chaos Dunk. Now, 12 years later, another Chaos Dunk was performed in Man-Manhattan, and as nobody but Barkley has ever performed the feat, he is wrongly accused. He is joined by LeBron James' great-grandson Balthios, the mysterious Cyberdwarf, and his son Hoopz to fight against Michael Jordan's B-Ball Removal Department, as well as the shadowy terrorist organization B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S., thus beginning an epic quest to redeem not only himself, but all of basketball. The game itself plays something like a mix between Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound. You've got typical RPG equipment, items, and skills, though there are less stats than in most as well. BP management is fairly important because of how much stronger your special moves are than normal attacks. That said, normal attacks all have their own level of variance that is pretty unique from other RPGs. Anyway, in the first part I don't really do a whole lot other than explain some stuff and start earlygame (and figuring out some controls and stuff after not having played this game in quite a while). I asked people if they'd prefer video or screenshots and I heard video a lot, plus it allows me to capture the full glory of the soundtrack. If you have any feedback let me know and stuff. I guess that's all for now.
  2. Hey guys! I'm started a new LP of Radiant Dawn! I can't wait to get the ball rolling on it! Would love it if you guys took a look at it. (disclaimer, i swear kind of a lot) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNpCNoCDtmQ THANKS!
  3. Introduction: I will complete Spyro the Dragon with a three hour time limit. The three hours represent the three days of Majora's Mask, and there are other references to it. Rules: All levels except flights will be completely cleared. I do this because I find the flights generally difficult and unenjoyable. They're not required to finish the game anyway. Levels are considered cleared when I have all the dragons, gems, eggs, and extra life trophies. Bosses will be faced only after the rest of the levels in the area are cleared. Home areas must be cleared before moving onto the levels they host. All dragon cutscenes will be skipped to save time with the exception of Nestor, the first dragon in the game, who cannot be skipped. I can sing the song of time if I feel it's needed, when I do so, thirty minutes is added to the remaining time. I may only do this in a level, not a home area. When I do, I must exit the level from the pause menu and reenter. I may use the song of time up to two times per home area. These don't add, so if I don't use any in the Artisan world, it doesn't mean I get four for Peace Keepers. If the clock reaches 00:00:00, I must turn the game off and continue from my previous save. Times: Dawn 1: 03:00:00 Dusk 1: 02:30:00 Dawn 2: 02:00:00 Dusk 2: 01:30:00 Dawn 3: 01:00:00 Dusk 3: 00:00:00 Stay tuned! Oh, and feel free to post with any questions or comments.
  4. So it's been a VERY long time since I finally work on another LP, but I finally got enough willpower to actually record and commentate on another series! This one will be of XCOM: Long War on Normal Ironman. If you are new to the Long War, Normal does not mean Easy; the creators of Long War have balanced the lowest difficulty, which is Normal, to be a little bit harder than Classic in vanilla, which means that this mod to XCOM is quite difficult indeed, and I'm still getting a feel for Long War myself. I thoroughly enjoy this mod however, so it is all worth it. Anyway, joining me in the commentary will be your very own Elieson from SF, which you all know and love. He will be providing us with additional tactical information and overall support through the LP whenever we are undertaking our extraterrestrial missions! Be aware though that he is not as knowledgable about the game as I am, so don't blow a hole through his head if he says something wrong. :P The soldier roster will also be filled with several members of SF and a few of my own friends as well, with the N7 prefix of course, since we are the best that Earth has to offer! So keep your eyes out; you may end up seeing yourself in your very own mission! Also, if you ever wish to be added to the roster, I will be drafting possible candidates when necessary, so I will be adding your name to our text file to be selected. I've already uploaded a couple of videos, so gear up and get ready for the intense action that XCOM is known for! ====================================================== Episode List: Warning: Episodes Warmup and 1 have loud Voice Tracks; keep your volume down at first. Warmup Mission (2/18/2015) Episode 1 (2/18/2015) Squad Roster by Episode: [spoiler=Test/Warmup Mission]N7 Squad: Crucial Crizix Zealous Zelda Mighty Miguel Ace Austin Killer Karina Mystic Mei [spoiler=Episode 1]N7 Squad: Powerful PK Crucial Crizix Brave Bal Zipping ZM Energetic Eukaryotic Doctor Dennis I do upload my videos in 720p/60 fps, so be sure to put it on 60 fps for smooth viewing. Also, I plan to update this weekly at least, so it'll be quite active. Albums of Mission Summaries: [spoiler=These aren't necessarily missions of the LP. ]Also, there won't be much commentary, but the screenshots will at least be in order. First Troop Transport Ship mission I've ever done in Long War (Mid Feb) 3rd Mission of my Latest non-LP file. (2/27/15) Site Recon "Chysallid Invasion Mission" (2/27/15) Training Abduction Mission # Whatever (3/1/2015) UFO Mission #11 (3/1/2015) ====================================================== Questions You May Have: Q: "Commander, why are your episodes est. 1 hour long each?" A: That's because if you've ever played XCOM before, you know rushing in blindly with no plan in mind will only get you killed; XCOM is a very challenging TBS, so caution and planning is absolutely necessary, especially in the early game. Deaths are to be expected. Q: "Why don't you do this as a Screenshot LP instead?" A: I'm not going to put all that time and effort to order and commentate each and every one of the screenshots just to give a lackluster feel of what XCOM would be like; the tension and feeling given from XCOM would be decreased tremendously because you aren't seeing it in real time. Plus, I'm lazy and busy, and I don't have much time to dedicate to a SS LP. However, I may just a few screenies every mission and just post them under its own section, but there's not going to be much commentary on the snapshots; just a few that I found that are cool/funny/etc to look at.
  5. Rules: - RP, Growth / Bond Drop, Mixed Reclass and base-buyable boosters are allowed. - Deaths are allowed and recruitment isn't forced. - Chapter 24 must be accessed, so that I cannot shave turns just by doing bad ending. I must enter all gaidens. (circumventing them would actually cost turns) - It's hard to put an exact limit to rigging, but expect that I will rig more stuff than a reliability-based run, but in amounts that can be considered reasonable. - How's everyone is not allowed, Drill Grounds is allowed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5ywAsj_-b0 Units to be used: The run: Forges:
  6. Yes, so I've been wanting to do this for a while and I was going to wait for the new patch but I figured I have no clue how long it's going to take, so I decided to play the current patch. Also don't judge my randomly trying to be informative about the hack. Or you could enjoy it, I-I don't care. 10. I'm not going to post the video here (NSFW, 18+ material) but if you care to watch it, a quick Google search will sort you out. And yeah, I watched it, and, I can'ttthaoch;icljkndc;oeihrf fh frw;jf fj fn but the music and accompanying video are awesome in both the artistic sense, and the mindfucking sense "About ME!ME!ME! is a 2014 electronic pop song created by Japanese DJ and producer Teddyloid that quickly gained cult status among anime fans for its catchy tunes and the enigmatic premise of its music video, which prominently features suggestive themes and an abundance of attractive-looking female characters. Origin On November 17th, 2014, a preview of the animated music video for Teddyloids ME!ME!ME!was released on the official website of Japan Animator Expo, a weekly web series launched and curated in collaboration between the Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Annos Studio Khara and the Japanese media company Dwango in late October 2014 as an outlet to showcase various works by up-and-coming artists, followed by the release of the full-length music video on November 21st. According to the official description, the music video illustrates the story of a young man being attacked and ravished by many girls. The track was originally composed by Japanese electronic musician Teddyloid with lyrics provided by Daoko; the animated music video for the song was produced as a joint effort between character designer Shuichi Iseki and executive director Hibiki Yoshizaki." the song itself is sfw though so here http://www.mediafire.com/listen/osf9ixa7r0brmne/TeddyLoid+-+ME!ME!ME!+(Static+Soundtrack+ver.).mp3
  11. Fire Emblem 7 hack by Camtech and Klok Chaos Mode is a hack that randomizes all character classes and weapons. Except now with even more chaos. I had Klok randomize it again, so now we're all getting dumpstered. OBSERVE THE GLORY YOU FILTHY CASUALS. PART 1- WHAT IS THIS GAME PART 2- MAGES ARE SO BAD PART 3- IS THIS A RAGE FEST??? PART 4- RNG BLESSED!!! Gimme some feedback on this please! Hope you laughed!
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOR2Oml8aIw Hey guys! pretty self-explanatory. I'll try buy a mic sooon, and learn to get on the HD game. But yeah! Hope you like it! tell me what you think.
  13. i've had a few of these runs already, but i've finally finished planning and nearly done recording my final Low Turn run of Sacred Stones (I don't think there's any room for improvement), I'll like a youtube playlist below which will hopefully be completed by Saturday. For the lazy people, i'll list all my turncounts below: Hopefully I'll get Chapter 18 onwards up by Saturday, but i'm pretty busy, and in my previous recording, Saleh needed to kill one more enemy, because otherwise he'll fall 4 exp short of reaching 26 magic, which is required. all the rage. Here's the youtube playlist for the first 19 chapters: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHhXqU1iGb015--2TtQ_N-DLsF9J6bqhA
  14. Decided to do this for my first series on the new channel. I am going to show off both paths and use different characters and promotions for each one. I also threw in stat sheets for each character using either sprites or screenshots of sprites showing off what they look like in each promotion stage and their beginning stats and growth rate. http://youtu.be/pYV7fhuHFNE
  15. Many broken promises and unfinished playthroughs later... It's finally here! Complete YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPtcK2f-aIoT9WbxLMRByDhQjGVLxqz9e I won't cover everything that Mekkah and I talked about in the video, but here are some nuggets that the average user may not know. FE6 mechanics in-depth GBA FE random number generator (RNG) So first of all, the RNG isnt truly random. But you probably know that already. Thats a limitation of computing. The GBA FE games generate their random numbers (RNs) using a linear feedback shift register. How exactly that works is not a terribly important detail, and I dont have sufficient knowledge of RNGs to be able to provide a good explanation, anyway. The key point here is that the GBA FE RNG uses the 3 most recently generated numbers to generate subsequent RNs. How are those 3 numbers seeded? Its always the same 3 numbers. Whenever you start up the GBA, the game uses a seed that corresponds to the decimal sequence 8, 56, 21. The RNG in this game is deterministic and entirely predictable. If you always reset the game prior to starting a chapter, you will always get the same results given the same sequence of inputs. rngdisplay.lua in action after a hard reset. The upcoming RNs are on the right, with 8, 56, 21 as the seed. I use a tool called a Lua script to view the RNG while playing the game on VisualBoyAdvance. The script itself is called rngdisplay.lua and was written by user amaurea of TASVideos. This is an immensely helpful script that allows me to route more efficiently. Hard mode differences FE6 is the first installment in the series to give the player an option to play on an increased difficulty. This difficulty has classically been referred to as hard mode (HM), with the default difficulty retaining the designation of normal mode (NM). This run will be played on HM. In FE6, there are 2 key differences between HM and NM. The first is that HM enemies get a stat bonus compared to their NM counterparts. The second is that some maps have more starting enemies and/or more enemy reinforcement units on HM. These are the exact same enemy from chapter 22. The stats on the left are from NM. The stats on the right are from HM. HM bonuses are generated by applying extra hidden level ups to all enemy units. I wont get into the details here. HM bonuses in FE6 increase in magnitude as the game progresses. Enemies can have as few as 5 extra level ups near the beginning of the game to as many as 16 extra level ups at the end of the game. For comparison, in FE7, all HM enemies get only 5 extra level ups, and in FE8, all HM enemies get between 1 and 4 extra level ups. Speedrunning techniques In order to cut down on video time and make the cleanest possible strategies, I employ a handful of speedrunning techniques. Not all of them need explaining. Note that this is not an actual speedrun, and so not every decision is optimized. Fast cursor movement In the GBA FE games, holding down the B button while moving the cursor allows the cursor to move at double the normal speed. Unfortunately, this makes the cursor difficult to control, especially when moving units. One way to deal with this is to always move the cursor at right angles when moving units. With practice, it is possible to fairly consistently move exactly 1, 2, 3, etc. spaces while holding B. Another way to deal with this is to take advantage of natural barriers. When moving a unit, the cursor stops if it would move out of the units movement range. Essentially, if at any time during the movement path I run the cursor into a wall, an enemy unit, or simply the edge of the units movement range, the cursor stops immediately. This helps to ensure accuracy of unit movements. Its easier to move Roy if he keeps running into walls. L-switching The L button serves a convenient purpose in the GBA FE games: it switches the cursor from one player unit to another. The sequence of cursor switching is determined by the order in which units are deployed in the chapter. Example: here is the deployment order for chapter 24. Suppose that the cursor is on Roy. One L input switches the cursor to Fae. Subsequent L inputs switch the cursor to Lalum, then to Milady, and so on. If the cursor is not on a player unit, pressing L will move the cursor to the first unit in the deployment order. This is usually Roy. RNG abuse via path retracing Sometimes, youll see me do this funny thing where I appear to move a unit somewhere, wobble the cursor a little bit, and then I end up doing something else. This is a speedrunning trick used to advance the RNG. Occasionally I come across a sequence of RNs that I cant use effectively, so I simply burn them with some path retracing. I first draw Zeisss (the selected units) movement path on the left. Then, I wobble the cursor to another tile on the edge of his movement range. The game has to retrace the movement path. rngdisplay.lua indicates that the new path took 7 RNs to draw. The game uses RNs to generate a new path if it cant adapt the old path. The longer a path is, the more RNs on average will be used for a path retrace. This technique features prominently in TASes (where they do it super fast), but I usually reserve it for when I have no other option, not only because its somewhat time-consuming, but it also compromises the integrity of the run. About this playthrough This playthrough operates under the following conditions: Player units have 0% growths in all stats. It recruits all possible units and keeps them alive (there are 51 player units in any given playthrough). It primarily aims for the lowest possible turncount. It secondarily aims for a low play time on the game clock. Videos of each chapter will be uploaded, with audio commentary from Mekkah and me. An explanatory write-up will accompany chapters for viewers who are unfamiliar with this game or have trouble with the Japanese. Chapter list Turncounts:
  16. Just as promised, I've started my new playthrough of FE12! Starring a bunch of mid tiers and an Archer avatar. Here are the rules: 1. Lunatic Class difficulty. 2. Rainbow Potion, Growth Drop and Bond Drop are banned from use. 3. Lunatic is assumed to have never been completed, so Lunatic boosters are banned from use. 4. No male units can reclass outside of their original class set. 5. Efficiency style. By that I mean not LTC but still fast paced enough. Hopefully no turtling unless strictly neccesary. If a strat in the Prologue can be done without deploying High Tiers, I will do the chapter without them. 6. Avatar must be a Female Archer during the Prologue and will be benched afterwards. 7. High Tier and Top Tiers units, except Feena, are banned from use after the Prologue. 8. Full recruitment. 9. No permanent unit deaths allowed. 10. If a high tier unit is auto-deployed by the game in a chapter, that unit can be used for the remainder of that chapter. Ex: Catria, Palla, Sirius Examples of not automatically deployed by the game: Malicia, village units etc. 11. I can actually deploy High Tier units, but they may never enter combat while equipped with a weapon or use staves on anyone or anything. This is in case someone of a higher tier is neccesary to recruit someone. Example: Caeda with Roger, Sirius with Nyna, etc. Here is the first vid: Tears gets to be an Orphan with Kindness present and Wealthy future. Orphan lets her 2HKO the soldier, saving a vulnerary use. She only needs 8 str to 3HKO Jagen. It also guarantees beating Luke next chapter as it makes her and Ryan able to 4HKO Luke without any str procs from Tears. Kindness lets her take on the first Prologue with less vulneraries used. Note that in order for her to save this vulnerary use, one of Jagen or the soldier can't proc max Str. Wealthy so that she has a great Spd growth, might come in handy! Here's Prologue 1:
  17. PLAYLIST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HqaLFwUdZI&list=PLHhXqU1iGb01IHXQEsSD2CrHBLiqkQ-R- I've been meaning to finish an FE7 ltc run for years now and as of today (note this could change next week) i'm pretty commited to actually finishing it. I've been telling myself not to make topics until I've got substantial progress done already but WHATEVER MAN. But really i'd like some opinions and the like before I get too far into the game, as I don't know this game as well as i'd like, and want to make sure i'm not making some big mistakes somewhere. I'm on Chapter 13 currently, I think i'll have to 5 turn due to unfortunate Marcus spawn, but we'll see. I'll post my current turncounts now, I have videos that i'll get up uh, when I feel like it! (probably later today or tomorrow). Kent struggles due to his mediocre strength. Other units I plan on using: - Marcus, obviously - Eliwood, there are lots of defence chapters to get him exp, he can rescue Hector while both are promoted, and is forced in some chapters (and the more units that can actually do stuff the better!) I don't expect him to do a whole lot, but having an extra dude around for endgame is pretty nice I guess. Probably not needed, opinions? - Lowen, depending on how he turns out. I'll probably massage his early levels so he does turn out well. His bases are really good too. - Priscilla, mounted warper. I think i'll be able to get her enough exp to promote at least for chapter 28 or something. - Kent, promoted in Lyn mode - Florina. I think I'll need her to be able to 1 turn chapter 24, depending on how the AI works. - Sain, mounted dude - Canas, as a lategame warper. He has a high base level and can get exp really easily, and will be fantastic in the desert. Luna helps rout the endgame morphs too. - Fiora, obligatory flier. I dunno how much exp she'll be able to get though. - Heath. He'll have to be pretty clutch lategame since Florina's durability won't be able to handle rescuing Hector all the time. He's pretty good regardless. - Rath, another guy who can rescue hector and the early brave bow is pretty cool too. He helps smash walls in Genesis, and hopefully he'll do more lategame too. - Pent, lategame warping etc There will be other liberal uses of prepremotes like Isadora and Hawkeye, I'm not recruiting everyone either, so i'll probably miss out on Lucius, Legault, Wallace, Farina, Harken, Karla and maybe Renault. I'd only really miss Harken and Farina, but they probably aren't worth the turns anyway. If you have any comments or questions throw them my way and I'll probably try to answer them. Maybe. Regardless with this starting position in chapter 13: I don't see a way to 4 turn. If anyone else does, or wants the save, give me a yell. Other than with a Marcus Silver Lance crit. But that's lame. If someone can figure a way to recruit Guy and get Marcus the killing edge, i'd rig two KE crits though probably. Oh another thing, i'm not using the mine/torch glitch at any point.
  18. Greetings fellow Fire Emblem fans. Name's Rudrake, an audio/video/music nerd who also loves video games. My first introduction of Fire Emblem was FE7:Blazing Sword and I even chose to do that game for my first Youtube series. I call them Talkhroughs instead of LPs (personal preference and its a tribute to the guy that got me into doing it). Looking forward to meeting and talking with you all. Check out my youtube channel if you like. https://www.youtube.com/user/WesPaul88
  19. I stumbled upon this video while looking through youtube to try and understand the story of these games and I came upon this brilliant video that really helped me.
  20. If this has been a topic before I apologise in advance... So yeah, self-explanatory really. Was considering doing a poll but then I remember there's about 80 or 90 different pieces in this game, so... Id (Sorrow) is probably my favourite. It's so soothing and it fits the tone pretty well considering when it's played. Conquest (Ablaze) is a pretty close second, although all the ablaze songs from what I remember sound good
  21. As the topic title says! I think a 0% growths run of this game would be pretty interesting. It would prevent just being able to stomp everything with Narron, in any case. It won't be an LTC, because I'm not much good at that, but it should still be fun. UNFORTUNATELY, I have absolutely no experience with hacking TRS or any other PS games (really I have no hacking experience at all other than a little bit with FE and Pokemon). Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this? I have a feeling it might involve hex editing, which I have no clue how to do. EDIT: links to the new video segments! 22. So I'm working on my reclass run of FE8, which I got from the "Monstrously Random Reclass" topic currently just below this one. I'll be taking opinions on preferred promotion paths for the characters I have so far, and I'm also interested to see what people think of the run in and of itself. UPDATE If my comment on the prologue video gets 10 or more thumbs up, I'll go ahead and release this romhack on SF when I'm done. As of this post, two chapters are recorded and more are on the way! I have a playlist set up on my youtube, you can check it out here. If this topic gets posts in it, I will continue to update new chapters as I make them. Also, Ephraim or Manrika route?
