So the WYBO thread died... but I wanted to make a solid prompt writing list for writers to practice and get to know your characters and what sort of situations that you can make use of to help improve your writing. This has no deadline, but is open to post in when you're up to writing. The only real rule is keep what's written in line with SF's posting rules. This is a more casual thread for us to just write and practice writing. The theme for this month is AUs, or Alternative Universes. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to answer them.

The point of this thread / contest is to incentivize people to practice writing through creating short stories around various prompts. "I don't know how to write!" I hear you say. Not a problem! This is less a competition and more an excuse to sit down and write something. Most importantly, this thread is meant to force yourself to improve through practicing and facing fears of being judged by others. Regardless of whether you receive any votes, you still receive experience which may help you as a writer. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Write Your Butt Off (WYBO), it's a monthly writing competition that's been active on the forum three seperate times. It is completely and totally for fun, as well as to recieve feedback and talk shop with other writers. It follows a format of a two weeks writing period, a one week voting/feedback period, and one week of nothing, with the winner choosing a prompt for the next month, and we do it all over again! Despite my more than spotty participation rate in the most recent WYBO, I quite enjoyed my time there for the most part, and it was nice to read the work of other creators. It's been a fairly long time since the last WYBO ended, and I was wondering if there would be anyone willing to participate if we were to bring it oit of hiatus? There are a few key members of the thread who have since been inactive here in the forums, but I would love to see the rise of a fourth era of WYBO.

Welcome one and all to "SF Ruins Fire Emblem," the contest where we try our darnedest to avoid living up to the title. If you've ever thought about getting into hacking, this would be a good place to get your feet wet. We aren't here to make epic adventures or highly publicized masterpieces- just to make one chapter every round and hopefully have a good time in the process. Though each round has a winner, this contest isn't really about winning. Getting more hacking practice is the more important part. Everyone has a Fire Emblem story they'd like to tell, but what's a Fire Emblem game without fun chapters to play? "SF Ruins Fire Emblem" is a chance to hone your map design skills. It is currently Round 1 Design Phase. Round 1 Design Phase Countdown *** As there is no previous winner, I will chose the theme for round 1. Theme: Entries: Coming within 30 days *** @Benice@Jotari@This boi uses Nino@Popers1328@Eltosian Kadath Remember, real life comes first. Have fun!

Since no one felt like continuing this for almost two years, I'm down to reviving this initiative. For people who have missed the first topic, this is a thread to incentive people to write short/medium length one-shot stories of varying themes that depend on the choice for the round, with the purpose to incentive writing practice as well as the improvement of our writing skills. "Oh but Rapier, I don't know how to write!" No worries! This 'contest' is less a competition and more as a medium to get around to writing and, most importantly, improve from forcing yourself to practice, face your fears of being judged by others and ultimately improve from the experience. Even if you aren't the most voted contestant, you still win a deal of experience that will help you as a writer, so long as you give yourself the opportunity to try! Copy-pasted from Boron, because reasons. Current Round: 8 Round 8's Voting Phase Countdown Theme: Status: Voting Phase --Entrants's List-- (Name / Submission) - EmperorSiegfried ("The Heart of Dedication") - Anacybele ("The Strength Within") - Tactician Robin ("Simply a Hunter") - Ottservia ("One More Time") - Shoblongoo ("Perfected") - SoulWeaver ("No One Is Iredeemable") - AnonymousSpeed ("Going Forward") --NOT PARTICIPATING (but honorably mentioned anyway)-- - TheSilentChloey ("Mistaken Identity") - DarthR0xas ("The Zero in Darkness") Previous Rounds: Round 7 Round 6 Round 5 Round 4 Round 3 Round 2 Round 1
