  1. Look, hear me out here guys. I know Dimitri isn't a super-hero but look at this. And sure, I know this is a knock-off of ViceTOluct's threads, but seeing as he got banned... I'm going to do it. Hell I'm going to put actual thought into it before I spiral into the strawgrasping that makes these fun. Yes. Thought into stupid crackpot theory territory. Because I love crackpot theories... even when I forget the theory. Batman is rich. Dimitri, being the Prince of Faerghus, is also rich. Obviously. Likewise, both Dimitri and Batman lost their parents as children. Both instances turned out to be more than what they initially appeared to be, with the assassination of the King of Faerghus being blamed on the people of Duscur. This was done to mask TWSitD involvement. In a similar fashion (though it's been altered depending on the telling so I'm going with the classic pre-crisis version, though some versions have changed Joe Chill out for Superman villain Metallo, or in the 1989 Batman film the Joker), Joe Chill murdered Bruce Wayne's parents... Thomas and Martha Wayne. While initially appearing as a mugging gone wrong, various accounts have been given (did you know in the first telling of the origin, only Thomas was shot, with Martha succumbing to a heart attack? The more you know). In some accounts it's been vengeance on Thomas Wayne for stopping criminals at a costume party. In others (Batman, the Ultimate Evil by Andrew Vachss specifically) the motivation was that Martha Wayne was secretly a federal agent on the verge of busting up an international crime ring involved in the exploitation of minors in the sort of manner that gets you on a register. I know that's a very roundabout way of saying it but, I'm mildly uncomfortable being any blunter. Point is, it's established in both cases the killers disguised an organized assassination as something else to cover up their own actions. Ok. Next is the fact Dimitri, like Bruce Wayne, was drastically changed by that. Just as Bruce pushed away childhood friend Zatanna Zatara (as seen around the 843/844 mark of Detective comics. I'd give the exact issue, but I forget damn it), Dimitri pushed away Felix, his former best friend. Difference here is Dimitri pushed away Felix by being open about his thirst for vengeance. Bruce pushed Zatanna away for purpose of hiding it. All said, in either case they'd end up associating again. Be it in the Justice League or in Garreg Mach. Not that things would ever quite be the same. Like Batman, Dimitri has a loyal servant, and like Batman he considers him more of a friend than such. I'm talking about Dedue and Alfred. Fun fact. Back in the 1980s, Alfred was supposed to be a WWII Veteran who fought with the French Resistance. Not that that's been referenced since Crisis on Infinite Earths... but it's a funny thing. Dimitri, much like Batman, has an excellent cape post-timeskip, and has taken to recruiting the young into his personal vendetta. Much like Batman at certain points in his career (right after Jason Todd's death at the hands of the Joker), he's pretty much snapped. Also like Batman, an individual associated with the law enforcement (as that's what the Knights of Seiros basically are in Fodlan) serves to help keep him in line through this harsh period. Yes. Gilbert is his Gordon. While I've already likened Dedue to Alfred, he doubles as a "Superman", in that as a knight, he's very much a "man of steel". Impervious to almost all harm... except magic. Which coincidentally, besides Kryptonite, is one of Superman's weaknesses... albeit less often exploited. Presumably because not every hood can learn magic, but every hood can pick up a green glowing rock. Dimitri, pre-timeskip, wears a mask. Not some physical mask, but he hides his fractured psyche behind a facade of normalcy that cracks with the more literal mask Edelgard employed as the Flame Emperor. If you listen to Felix, he was like this since the Duscur incident, which has no doubt lead to his training for vengeance. Felix also claims that he's different after his redemption arc is complete in the war phase. This means, Dimitri no longer needs the mask, he's finally recovered. Something, Batman is yet to do. Also of note, like Batman has evaded leadership of the Justice League for the most part despite his intelligence making him an ideal candidate, Dimitri does not involve himself in war phase planning while in his vengeance crazed mode. This may be for different reasons, with one preferring to avoid the attention, while the other is more than a little mad at that point. Also something something Edelgard/PoisonIvy or Edelgard/Catwoman loveinterest/enemy blah blah claptrap even I know is pushing credibility too far. Yeah, I think I've constructed a case. Whether it holds any water, or is just me distracting myself from a grim reality is up for debate. Hope it was a fun read at least.
  2. So for the uninitiated Berwick Saga is the second game from Shouzou Kaga, creator of the original 5 Fire Emblem titles, after leaving Intelligent Systems. It's set in the same world as TearRing Saga, although the two games are not directly related by plot. It borrows a lot of elements commonly found in the Fire Emblem series, such as permadeath and weapon durability, while adding several unique and interesting twists on the old formula. Battles are no longer carried out phase by phase, but instead on a turn by turn basis for example. Many skills and ideas found in modern Fire Emblem titles can be traced back to this title as well. This playthrough is based on this English patch created by Aethin, and I definitely recommend you check it out and support the project if you can. I'm all of two maps in and it's been an absolute blast so far. Anyways, Part 1 In this part, we're first introduced to our cast of characters and get our first taste of the crazy new battle system this game has to offer. I can't help but be heavily reminded of FE4 with how this game sets up the story. Nothing too crazy happens here story-wise, but I'm already finding a lot of things to like with this game. The art doesn't look that impressive in screenshots, but seeing the game in motion I have to say that the graphics are incredibly smooth and full of life. The soundtrack is already starting to grow on me too (that boss music!). Anyone who has played TearRing Saga and enjoyed it would probably say that this game has some big shoes to fill, but so far I have to say things are looking good.
  3. Ok, I just looked at the Wikis on this information. Are you telling me the Fire Emblem ISN'T present in this game??? I know that the Fire Emblem in this universe is the Shield of Seals and is still in Archanea (if I'm correct), but... what's the point of the title Fire Emblem if there is no Fire Emblem present? I guess the Fire Emblem couldn't be removed from Archanea without plot holes, but seriously just why? "Let's make a Fire Emblem game... but let's not put the Fire Emblem in the game." Great logic Nintendo. Must've been hard to do that while taking out the Waifu Simulator at the same time when making the remake.
  4. You all know very well it's coming, sooner or later. Our beloved dating simulator with a tactics minigame tacked on prints too much money for IS to just give up on it. The question is... What new things do you want to see from the next installment? Are there any old mechanics you'd like IS to bring back? Is there a current mechanic you'd like to see them rework or get rid of? Would you rather it be a remake of an older FE or something new? Do you want it to be on the 3DS or the Switch? Why is Meg so perfect? Personally, I'd like to see something new, though I wouldn't mind a remake. I mean, if IS dangled in front of me a chance to play with Alm, Leif, Hector or Niime in a sick new model with a sick new art style, you bet your ass I'd be all over that. Still, I'd like to see IS deliver something completely new to the table. They did some interesting stuff with the classes in Fates (Like giving us a cool Bow + Staves class), so I'm excited to see what they might do next. Anyway, share your thoughts. I'd like to hear what you guys want.

  9. A little backstory here: On this Spyro fansite I once created this Survivor style general trivia challenge game. Didn't host but it was still really fun to do. Even after I left that site, I loved the idea. Here's my proposal: This game is based on the honor system. That means that looking up answers is not incouraged, but no one could really stop you. The game operates on Days. There will be 12 or so Days where a member from the losing team is eliminated until the merge occurs. Then it shall be one large team with individual invincibility. People will be voted off each day, except for possibly one or so non-elimination days. Contestants will send their votes by PM to the hosts. This of course means any hosts will probably need a good inbox or something. Looking to have around 10-12 competitors. Also would like to have a host, but it'd probably be a pretty difficult job. They'd get all the credit if this goes well. I know I've had this go well before, but it was never thanks to me. Teams will be randomized I guess. Contestants: 1. Franziska 2. Power Master 3. Draco 4. Glaceon Mage 5. Icemario 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11 and 12 to be added if space is needed. Host: Baldrick Teams: Team *host choice #1*: Team *host choice #2*:
  10. So, Donny is blessed, in my opinion, with Armsthrift, which is a skill I smack on any unit who can get it. Literally. But that's just about all he has going for him. For a skillset, I'm looking at Bowbreaker, Axebreaker, Sol, Limit Breaker, and Armsthrift. I don't really like the idea of Counter, because in the few situations where it's been useful, it's killed the enemy, robbing me of my precious EXP. :< But I also don't like the idea for Donny to have Aggressor, Resistance +10, mainly because I have far too many units with those skills, and I can't picture the idea of Donnel being... aggressive. Whatever, are there any other options that I should consider? *winces* +5 HP? Also, I plan on having him Father Brady, but that's a skillset for another day. ^-^
  11. So, um... Some other people have been making these threads. I'm making another one so I can entertain myself through answering people's stupid questions. Nothing too weird... Alright? Answers will be done in the perspective of my manakete character, Chigai.
  12. Hiya, I'm planning on making reviews of various video games on Youtube, and I was wondering which of these gems of gaming Serenes Forest would like me to review Fire Emblem 1 on the NES Sonic 06 on the 360 Metroid Other M on the Wii Note that FE 1 and Metroid Other M I'll be heading into blind if picked I'll review what does the best in the poll, but I plan to get to each one eventually. You have till 6 PM Central time, as that's when I'll start filming
  13. So! Smash Brothers for 3DS! Watching Gameplay for the Wii U, it must be hella' lotta easier to use a controller, I'm guessing. So I'm used to using customized fighters against other customized fighters. By customized, I mean both custom moves, and custom items, such as those involving Attack, Speed, Defence, the whole sha-bang. I tried For Glory last night. I played for 5 matches. ...I lost all five. For the majority of them, I used my star Marth. While I'm used to using customized moves, again, the Marth I had made only varied when it came to his counter, which lasted a bit longer. But I got friggin' crushed. I don't know how people do it, I went up against, what, three damns Yoshi's? Their air attacks are just... Too much. But I realized, well, I've known, but it only began to frustrate me that Marth has so many laggy moves. His aerial attacks are hard to land, and if they miss, you WILL be punished. The same can be said for his dash attack. Oh, GOD his dash attack. I'm guessing that playing on the Wii U is much more flexible, or easier than the 3DS. But does anyone have any tips for Marth? Any Combos, or anything?
  14. What are your thoughts on how the Kalos Pokémon, and old blokes like Azumarill who got some new tools to utilize, will work out in the X/Y metagame? Talonflame I feel is definitely OU material. Gale Wings is just too amazing with priority Roost/Acrobatics/Brave Bird, and it helps that it also has Flare Blitz access as well as Bulk Up/Swords Dance. Stealth Rock blows, but at least it can Roost it off. Slurpuff is hilarious. Unburden + Sitrus Berry + Belly Drum is quite the combination. Though other than that hilarity, I think it'll be NU or RU. Contrary Malamar and Superpower, along with its awesome Dark/Psychic typing is definitely UU material. I'd list more, but I'm tired.
  15. Because I'm sick of her being called a Sue, Micaiah fans, assemble!
  16. I decided to do a Monster-party playthrough of FFL2 (note this has nothing to do with that NES game that has the cool Prototype that nobody's allowed to play) because bored and why not. Apparently a party full of monsters is a bad idea, which is why I figure it'll be fun. The only downside is that I'll only be able to beef up half of my party to max level, but on the upside I don't have to give a crap about equipment and can easily sell everything for healing items. The HARDEST part of this challenge, however, is the screenshots, because the text constantly scrolls by itself at a moderately fast pace, so I end up missing shit A LOT. Ugh... Right, let's GO! Exposition! And we meet our hero, Sasha, the Baby-D. The "D" most likely stands for "dragon" but she looks more like some kind of snake, so I dunno. The game starts off with Sasha's dad waking her up. "Damnit Dad, you know how hard it is for me to fall asleep!" So as it turns out, Sasha's deadbeat dad is running away from home because deadbeat dad. Except he's not THAT deadbeat because he gives us OPrism. IT'S PRETTY BUT I NEED MY DAD MORE THAN THIS PIECE OF BUTT! ;n; "He's not coming home is he... ;n;" Silly Sasha, your dad went through the ROOF, not the window. Sprite layers betrayed him! This is how long it took me to get this started because of how often I had to restart to get a good screenshot. Also notice how Sasha's mother is a human. After trying to figure out how two humans can give birth to a dragon/snake thing, I let the text scroll more. "You're leaving me just like my husband did... *sniff*" Except actually, Sasha's mother is understanding about it, telling Sasha to go ahead despite Sasha second-guessing whether she should leave her mother all alone. Except "Damnit Mom, the whole point of going on an adventure like this is to NOT have to go to school." Then after a needlessly flashy transition I get told stuff I already know. Sasha is displeased with the fact that her teacher has engrish. PROTIP: The "S" in Mr.S stands for Schoolteacher. Maybe. He then goes on to tell me more stuff about the MAGI (caps lock is important) mentioned at the start and how they're being able to form a statue of a goddess that becomes an actual goddess if I find them all. Also said Goddess is hot which explains why Sasha's dad runned away to find all the MAGI but then raises the question why he gave Sasha part of said goddess. He also tells me OPrism is able to tell me how many MAGI are left in the current world. Sadly it doesn't tell me WHERE in the current world they are, so it's almost not useful. Then after "Good, I hate you!" Except really THEY WANNA JOIN TOOOOOO. Crap I gotta name them? I'm taking a slime an Imp and another Baby-D. What will I name them? Find out next time! You know, if I don't forget about this like everyone else does with their PTs.
  17. ORAS is love. ORAS is life. First off, I'm kinda bummed out since now that I think about it, I don't think the game will have Emerald's storyline, which includes taking on both Team Magma and Team Aqua, and going through the Sky Pillar to tell Raquaza to make Kyogre and Groudon STFU. Though, I think the games will have Juan as the 8th gym leader, Wallace as the champion, and Steven to return as the Red-like challenge like he was in Emerald. Still, I can't wait to see what's going to happen. Seeing how Route 113, Mt. Chimney, Route 111 and the Mirage Tower, and pretty much the entirety of Hoenn in 3D graphics is hyping me up, and just imagining how the music will be remastered is adding onto that. So yeah. Let's all give out our thoughts in what's going to be in the fantastic duo of games.
  18. As requested by Aethern, I want to know who you think is the better waifu. Lissa, with her canon cuteness, or Olivia, with her non-canon shyness that is loved by many. Oh, and for Rey, I included the japanese waifus as well.
  19. well by writing a story on wordpad whilst listening to Megadeth: Peace Sells.....But Whos Buying? And of course, drinking beer during the process.

  22. My first topic. Done simply because I can. Posting my sketches. I ordered them in the way I drew them. Also I don't draw very often either but I want to start. Seriously, I draw one picture like every 2 months. Feel free to tell me what you think. EDIT: How do I post pics and put them in spoiler boxes? :/ EDIT2: Nevermind. I figured it out.
  23. I'm not sure why I decided to create this topic, but I did, and now it's here, so deal with it. I guess I've just been playing a lot of Pokemon recently, and I even watched some episodes of the anime, and it got me to thinking; what were my favorite Pokemon anyways? So, thirty minutes minutes spent analyzing the over 700 Pokemon (but not really because I don't care about Unknown) later, and I came up with a list. But CLEARLY my list is flawed and filled with serious Gen. 1 bias because I'm OLD, so I'm curious to see what your favorite Pokemon are! There are no wrong answers except Unknown. Oh yeah, here's my list. It's full of serious Gen. 1 bias. 10) Chansey This picture says it all, who can't like Chansey (I will ignore all yes')? Chansey was ridiculously hard to get in the original Safari Zone, so when I found out you could get one in Unknown Dungeon, I was ecstatic...Of course, I never used it, but that's beside the point! Then Chansey became super bro in the newer generations thanks to Eviolite, which is just swell. 9) Garchomp Admittedly, I'm not really into the newer generations as much (mostly...because of lack of effort, I'm hoping to get X &/or Y &/or Z though!), but sometimes a new design can even catch an old fart like me by surprise. I mean, it's a freaking land shark, that's like the best thing ever. Also Garchomp was so good that it was considered UBER, which is bro, although I'm not sure if that's changed recently or not. Either way, land shark. Bad ass. 8) Eevee Eevee is wonderful. He's like the "X" of Pokemon, with infinite potential that becomes more and more apparent as the generations go by. Plus, he's Gary's starter Pokemon in Yellow version. Sorry, let me rephrase that again. MOTHERFUCKING GARY OAK's starter Pokemon in Yellow. That's like, all of the bonus points right there. Not to mention most of the time when you get Eevee (except in HG/SS where they fucked it up), he's usually a fairly high leveled bro who can exceed even your starter, provided the right initial investment is there. And he can fill all of the gaps in your party lineup, no matter what it is! 7) Latios Latios has like, the best typing ever. Psychic types are awesome. Dragon types are awesome. Latios is awesome. Also didn't hurt that he was the bro member of my team when I was playing Pokemon Online. His design is also pretty neat, and as I do like Blue over Red, a reason why he's here on this list instead of Latias...not to mention the whole Pokemon Online thing and being a higher tier. Clearly there is no place in my cruel heart for second place! 6. Charizard Do I really need to say anything? This guy was the reason I bought Pokemon Red in the first place. Just seeing his profile plastered over the box art was enough to get my 8 year old self begging my parents to buy a Game Boy Color for this game. Not to mention he was one of the few Pokemon Ash fully evolved in the anime, and fairly early one at that! Charizard's so rad. 5. Mewtwo Back when I first played Pokemon, it took me like forever to get to the Elite 4. Constant resets, running around for hours to get an Abra, getting lost in every dungeon for at least 5 hours or more (including Mount Moon), and even a few complete do-overs when I realized I wanted a different starter! But yeah, the whole Pokemon Red endgame is really well done, and I felt like I had accomplished something by the time I finished it (mainly, wiping my victory in that smug jerk, Gary Oak's face). So I was totally surprised that there was an endgame, because games didn't usually do that! And Mewtwo was at the end of it! And he was freaking ridiculous! IT WAS SO AWESOME GUYS ALSO HE WAS COOL IN THE ANIME MOVIE WHICH WAS ALL PRETENTIOUS BUT I LIKED IT ANYWAYS SO THERE FUCK YOU 4) Articuno Articuno is. There's just something about it that's so graceful and majestic and also more importantly he starts out with Ice Beam, which is the coolest move in Pokemon...I was so mad that it barely features in Gen 2 or the Gen 1 remakes. SO MAD. 3) Pichu Bet you weren't expecting a Gen 2 Pokemon this late in the list! And Pichu at that, rather than Pikachu! To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure why I like Pichu so much. I can give you like 50 reasons for Pikachu, but like, 0 for Pichu. I'm not sure I've ever got one in the games! Maybe it's just because he was so adorable in SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH, or because he's like Pikachu but MORE KAWAII. I dunno, man. 2. Dragonair Dragonair really nails that whole mystic thing that dragon type pokemon (used to) have going for them. Earlier in the game, you see Ekans rather frequently. You know, the Pokemon whose name is SNAKE backwards GUESS WHAT ARBOK IS KOBRA BACKWARDS AND MUK IS KUM BACKWARDS SO CLEVAR. But then you see Dragonair, who resembles a snake (it even has the little rattle at the end!), but isn't...it's something more. Which is why I like it so much. 1) Mew Best Pokemon ever. I'll write a detailed reason later, running out of time! Remember to post your favorites, I'm looking forward to them! Unless they're Unknown! I'm dreading those!
