  1. Hello everyone! I recently uploaded a Demo-Patch from my first self-made Rom-hack. But thankfully eclipse told me, that there was something wrong with it (oversized and bad link), so I changed it a bit. The file size should be now smaller and better for a download. It would be a great help for me, if you would check it out, if the patch and the link are ok! You don't have to download the hack, only if you're intrested!!! (And why are the screenshots so big...?) 2. I've been working on a FE6 RR hack, seen here: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63618 I decided after playtesting a bit on Normal and determining the difficulty was where I wanted it, I should probably playtest hard mode and make sure that it is where I want it in terms of difficulty. Hopefully, it will be a bit easier than FE6 hard mode, but still hard. And I've decided to make the playtest a bit more fun, by straight up LPing it! This will allow me to show off the features of this hack and get some feedback and suggestions. I won't be showing off the edited script though, mainly because it isn't finished yet. As far as route splits go, I'm doing Ilia because it's easier and has a better character(though getting it is harder, since you have to make sure your peg knights get more exp than the ever so useful Elphin and Fae). For the chapter 9 split, I'll be doing both routes and then letting you guys vote which one is canon. Now, without further adieu, here's Chapter 1! And that's chapter 1 done! It's actually harder than I expected. It was still pretty easy for the most part, but it had a few toughish parts. I doubt I could make it through vanilla FE6 hard mode. I can't wait until I get a healer next chapter.
  3. Narcian, Wyvern General Green Axe Flier 5★ Lv. 40 Stats: Hp: 42 Atk: 29 Spd: 29 Def: 32 Res: 26 Total: 158 Default Skills: Weapon: Emerald Axe+ Assist: -- Special: Vengeance Passive A: -- Passive B: Lancebreaker 3 Passive C: Savage Blow 3 Overview: A quick glance at Narcian’s stat spread reveal a very well-rounded unit – perhaps too well rounded. Narcian’s stats put him in a very awkward place where nearly any build he can run is done better by another axe flier. Even his “strength” of physical bulk is outdone by both Beruka and Michalis. Narcian does sport high Res for an axe flier, which brings to mind a possible magic-baiting, DC build, but it is difficult to justify using this when Camilla: Bewitching Beauty has +5 Res on him in addition to slighter higher offensive stats at the cost of some physical bulk. Things are bleak for the man of unparalleled abilities, but such is the life of a low tier unit, and in this analysis I will attempt to highlight builds that allow Narcian the limelight he so desperately craves. Pros: He is a flier, and therefore is extremely mobile and can take advantage of powerful flier buffs. Green color and decent magical bulk allow him to tank the oppressive Reinhardt. His default skill set is perfect for assassinating lance units, making him a worthwhile Arena Assault unit with minimal investment. He makes use of all his stats, making him a solid choice for Summoner and Ally support. Has glorious hair. Cons: His well-rounded stats mean he’s going to be outclassed by his green axe rivals in nearly any role he tries to fulfill. 29/29 offensive stats means he generally struggles against non-blue units. Limited merge potential – at this time of writing can only be raised to +5. No access to IVs/natures to help rectify his statistical woes. If he passes a mirror, he will cease battling to admire his prowess. Builds: (A Note on Passive C Skills and Sacred Seals: These skills are very flexible by nature. You can put more or less anything here to complement whatever your team needs. Generally speaking, the skills I listed in these slots in the builds below are the ones I feel are his best options while giving the most flexibility in the type of Sacred Seals he can use. Adjust according to your intended team composition.) The Strong High Investment – Arena (Offense) – Standard Horse Emblem check The Clever Low Investment – Arena Assault – Lance Counter The Handsome Medium Investment – Chain Modes – Medic, Support The Righteous Very High Investment – Arena (Offense), Arena (Defense) – All-purpose Other Options: G Tomebreaker Green Tomebreaker is an option on the first build if you don’t care about the retreating properties of Hit and Run, and want to better counter Cecilia and other fast infantry greens as well. Bonfire Bonfire is always a worthwhile Special on units who have good Def, and Narcian is no exception. It works well on the The Clever build if you don’t think you need Moonbow, and it’s a solid option on The Righteous if you don’t care about wasting it on Reinhardt and can make the lost points up elsewhere. Still sort of a WIP, and sort of not. I'll edit and make changes to this depending on the kind of feedback received, and I'll probably add some more specific calc information especially for the fourth build.
  4. So, as you may or may not know, I made a Reverse Recruitment hack of FE8 where I included the CC characters into the recruitment reversing, leading to Lyon being the Lord, Fado being the Jagen, etc. Said hack can be found here if you're interested: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=63349 Anyway, I got the idea to do a similar thing with FE6 using the Trial Map characters. Here's a list of who swaps with whom: In addition to reversing recruitment, I did make some gameplay edits as well, most of it involving buffing units since FE6 gives you a lot of shit units, but I did do a few other things as well, mainly to make the game less frustrating. I'll probably do a complete list once the patch is out, but I cba rn. Ideally the patch should be easier than vanilla FE6, but not excessively so. Now, one thing I'm doing, that most other RR hacks don't bother with, is actually editing the script so the game still has a coherent plot. Characters have the same role as the unit they replace, but for the most part retain their original personality, So for example, while Narcian may be a leader of a group of mercenaries now, he's still extremely narcissistic and smug. So far I have Chapter 1 and 2 and the tutorial done. I'll probably release a patch once I have the main plot done, with another one to follow once I get the rest of the text edited. Now, to fulfill the obligatory screenshot requirement, have some pics of Narcian's new dialogue: Feel free to leave any questions, suggestions, comments, etc.
