  1. Something I've always wanted to do for the longest time was try out a PMU run of Shadow Dragon. After all, a lot of the fun I get from replaying this game is using unorthodox characters/classes, like Sage Norne or Sniper Caeda. But now I really want to let others decide how I play this game. What could a better way to connect with other SD fans than to suffer from using nearly unplayable units. Don't worry too much about being harsh. I'd like to think that I stand a good chance, given that Sage Norne had a 0% defense growth and was used on H5 (I used a full content patch). Here's the rules: I'd really appreciate any and all suggestions for this future FE11 run. I'd love to post about this playthrough and play in a way that would be entertaining to read, but I'm definitely inexperienced with this, so please bear with me. Thanks to anyone who gives me a chance at this, even if it's just a Matthis pick. PMU Team: I can't wait for Rickard to somehow end up being the best unit.
  2. Doing a birthright lunatic ironman! Requests for units? Need Parents and Kids. Never done an ironman before, so any tips for birthright lunatic in particular would be appreciated. I've done most fe games on their hardest difficulty, but never an ironman. Rule 1. If giving a kid, give their parents. Refrain from just giving a parent. Giving the family would be nice. Rule 2. No paid dlc. But can use stuff like balistician, witch (mutually exclusive), paragon, exalt's brand. Rule 3. There are no mods on the games, so will be a vanilla run Rule 4. Looking for around 18 units, which will probably be cycled through the run based on deaths and viability. Rule 5. Avatar can be customized by anyone who comes first. You can decide appearance, name, Class, Bane and Boon, S-Support partner and gender. suggestion: i've never married a gen 2 unit, and that could get more units into the fray, so feel free to use that!   4. I think it is about time I tackle the last of the Fates Lunatic modes, but after an intense Conquest play through I want a different kinda challenge run, hence the PMU. So some ground rules, 1. You have 13 slots to pick. Feel free to choose classes and parents for child characters. 2. Corrin (M), Azura, and Felicia are already part of the team, although people can pick a final class for them (and Boon for Corrin) 3. The only DLC classes available are the free DLC classes and bonus Path classes (max 2 Dread Fighter, max 2 Dark Falcons; max 1 of either Ballistician or Witch) 4. No Amiibo or DLC characters (Sorry Anna fans) 5. Have fun with classes, I rarely experiment with changing classes, so I am looking forward to having to play with some people in very different classes this time around.   7. Hello everyone! Yesterday I found my Awakening cartridge (which I have not played in about two months) lying around on my desk and realized that I kinda missed the game. Awakening was the first game in the series I played (although not the first one I saw), but because I was so bad at FE back then, I didn't really enjoy it until a couple years later. My main save (as in, the one I bought the DLC when my old but newer 3DS was still functioning) has almost 190 hours and I have also played several challenges, but... all of them on Normal. My longest run on Hard died around Chapter 6, but now that I have several playthroughs of different harder FE games, I feel ready to take it on again. Where do you come in, you may ask? As you probably read in the title, I thought of doing a PMU. There are a number of rules you must follow, however: - 16 units total (the Avatar is forced, but Chrom isn't), including up to three children (Lucina doesn't count as a child) - Children may only be picked if two parents have already been picked by other users: this means that you may not choose who the unit you pick marries, but the user who picks a child may (I hope it makes sense) - One unit and their class(es) per user: for example, you may pick Tharja and have her go Archer and then Sniper - The user that decides the Avatar's "class progression" may also choose their gender and looks (add a photo of the way you want the Avatar to look or write down the numbers of his/her features); they may also invent something about their personality and choose their spouse (Morgan is not forced) - While they are not forbidden, I want to play a new couple, at least for the Avatar, which means that male Robin may not marry Lissa, Sully, Maribelle or Cordelia and female Robin may not marry Chrom or Frederick - I don't have DLC access anymore - I will try to keep the run as "no-grind" as possible, so choose wisely I know that's a lot of rules, but I hope it's ok for you guys. I have the first one going on currently, and that is where we shall start.   9. This was an idea I had recently, were I try to do enough PMU's to have used every single Fates unit at least once. The first of these has been going on, but has been but on hold due to needing rescue staffs for Shiro when my only sources of them were Lottery or Skirmishes. But anyways, this will be about deciding on the units for the other PMU's (and a change for the first PMU). Obviously, there will be rules.   10. Welcome to Fire Emblem 7 Pick My Edits: Pink Suit Edition! What started as an excuse to practice ROM hacking and figure out if Assassins pick up desert items became a full PME run by a single vote (see below). Now, not only will I be doing a run of Hector Hard Mode with a "horribly mutilated team" of units in suggested reclasses, but even the game itself will be horribly mutilated with all manner of silly edits. How this works is that, for each character, I will be assigning them a new class as well as adjusting their growth rates. Their new growth rates will be their original growth rates, minus the generic growth rates for their original class, plus the generic growth rates for their new base class. I'll also be adjusting their weapon ranks and equipment to match their new classes. Editing their bases is not necessary- because of how a character's base stats are determined, changing their class is enough to accomplish that. I'll try to use as many characters as I can, but I can't make any promises because A) I cannot recruit both Karel and Harken, and B) I am not very good at video games, even the turn based RPG ones, so I may find myself reverting to a core team of powerhouses. Every character has already been reclassed, but other edit suggestions are still welcome. These suggestions can be of any kind. Changes to weapon stats, putting new items in different locations, having Dorcas start out poisoned (this is something someone suggested and that I'm doing by the way), or simply giving things new silly names or other cosmetic changes. Kinda felt like playing Book 1 of Mystery of the Emblem again, but I didn't want to do a ye olden spam broken units run for the 100th time, so I thought a PMU would be mildly entertaining and/or salt inducing. So 12 units excluding Marth please, my only rule is that I will use any unit who is recruited or automatically fielded but only for the chapter that it happens in. Might try to do it semi fast but don't expect super high IQ LTC strats from me. Oh right, in the spirit of Wrys, I am not allowing myself to use the vulnerary that replaces him. It will stay in Marth's inventory the entire game, and the PMU is forfeit if it leaves his inventory.

So I've been wanting to play this game again... possibly even LP it to put my own spin on it like I've been doing with Valkyria Chronicles (which actually sorta was a PMU, too, and am... still slowly in the process of doing). Lemme give you the low down. I will be using 14 units besides Marth. I will be using Marth and the fourteen others until endgame, but no one else except when I need to recruit units. The number is, incidentally, based off of the number of units one can take to the final chapter. I am playing a modified version of the game (that I patched myself, mind you) that lets me play the Gaiden chapters without killing troops off like some ritualistic lunatic, so I'll have access to the units gained in those chapters. This also means that I won't get Gotoh, I believe, unless the hack somehow changed that. Because I'm not playing on Normal (I'm playing Savage difficulty, which is somewhere in the middle between Hard and Merciless), I'll be starting only with the traditional team, most of whom I won't even be using I'm not aiming for low turn counts or anything like that, so I'm probably not gonna abuse warp staves to beat the chapters in one turn or whatever. I'm not a meta-gamer. No real limits on forges, but I don't often use the forge anyway because I'm a philistine. I'm not saying that I'll let people pick my weapons or anything; I'm just letting everyone know this. Stat boosters and Anna's shops are fair game. Not like I particularly need all of that stuff too much, but they'll be a failsafe in case one of my allies winds up sucking too much. I will actually use allies in their original classes up until the soonest briefing screen. So for example, I will use Maria as a cleric in the level she joins in, but she will switch to pegasus knight as soon as I get to the next chapter. I'll be using the following units:
  15. Yes, that is a Valkyria Chronicles reference in the tags. So I'm bored and want to play through FE BR, partially because my sister is also playing through it. But I sort of wanna spice it up by making people force me to use certain units in... interesting ways. So my excessively long list of rules are: For the avatar's... everything, it's first-come, first serve; gender, class, boon, bane, bed buddy, and appearance. For appearance, I'd like for you to refer to this Avatar Creator's options for ease of use, and also because it's a damn fine tool and deserves more love, imo. I'll change into their respective base class ASAP, so for this regard, just give me their promoted class like you would anyone else. Name is the only thing I will choose, and trust me when I say it'll probably be something stupid or awful. Of course, I'll be doing Lunatic Classic difficulty with skirmishes only used to boost supports. No buying weapons or rods beyond E-rank, no forging, no MyCastle business, no skill inheritance, no Einherjar, no other Corrins, and no captured units. All other weapons and equipment are On-Site-Procurement. This is a stealth mission. Royals are permitted, but not their uber weaponry; that shit gets thrown into the convoy as soon as they rear their ugly heads. To make things more pointlessly tedious, I'll only use Corrin to activate Dragon Veins. In a way, it'll be just like playing through Shadow Dragon. I'd encourage everyone to try to refrain from giving me all the royals, as I've already been down that road. No totally ganked units, and no units who are too good; Nonmoyoji!Kagero and Oni Chieftan!Silas are off the table. Other that, I encourage creativity; I will use all units you choose to the best of my ability. I'll permit any type of Oboro though simply because I like her, but I won't use her excessively if she's given a really good class. Also, because I don't want to have a small party early game, I'll only permit up to three units post Chapter 10. Post Chapter 10 units include the likes of Reina, Kaden, Ryoma, Scarlet, Izana, Shura, Jakob/Felicia (the one who doesn't join the initial party), and Yukimura, but doesn't include Takumi or Kagero; if you pick Yukimura, then only one other post Chapter 10 unit can join because Yukimura's a lazy bastard who sleeps in, and he takes way too long to join. That rule also applies for Izana and Shura, and no, you can't pick two of them. On the previous two grounds, if you give me a unit I deem unusable, I will inform you (though I won't humiliate/shame you because that's scummy). You can pick an alternative unit in this instance, but I won't use the initial unit you gave me. There's a reasonable amount of flexibility here. Also, marriage to Yukimura, Shura, or Izana is off limits, because fuck waiting that long. Reina is okay though because she's a respectable lady that wears pants. And Scarlet actually wears protection, so she cool too. Kaden is fine, and Ryoma... well, whatever. Marrying my allies' kids is weird, even if they're all of age, but Corrin in Conquest does worse things so fuck it; any kid is available. Only 11 Gen One units besides the Avatar. Pairings outside of that are permitted, but I will not use unpicked characters as anything other than supports in their join chapters. Can also pick their classes, obviously; I will reclass ASAP. Partner/Friendship sealing is obviously allowed. If I have unshipped units, I may take liberties because I am scum. Gen Two units might happen. We'll see, but I won't let anyone pick these. The Gen One units are hard locks, so anyone else used can only join a chapter if it's available. Grinding only for supports, and obviously that only applies to any supporting units that are outside of the initial cast of this PMU. I'll permit... two DLC classes. One male unit, and one female unit. Can use genderless classes if you want, and I'll probably play a DLC map if need be. But DLC will not be used outside of acquiring these two classes. Assume reclass ASAP, though that may vary if I have to actually beat a DLC map. Okay, Anna can join too, but I'll treat her like the other latecomers simply because I don't want to be facing a bunch of 'zerkers early on. She will be recruited post Chapter 12 if she makes the cut; otherwise, I won't even bother. Mozu's paralogue will be played ASAP, regardless of whether or not I'm using her. She really doesn't get enough love, imo. No duplicates of any class. If a unit takes on a class, that is the only unit that takes that class. For the sake of clarity and simplicity, only promoted classes are considered in this equation; if I get a Master of Arms and a Swordmaster, I will deem that A-OK even if they come from the same base class. Anything else I did not detail here is covered in section D-01101001-01100011-01101011 of the Enclosed Instruction Book. Basically, that means anything else is open-ended. I'll try to tell folks how I used the units they picked, as well as any extracurriculars that I may or may not shoe-horn into this. Units to be used thus far: All slots are now used up.

This includes Anna, Mycastle units, Children units, Capturable units and einherjar units. I will be using 15 units in total, including Corrin. I will only be grinding for supports.   18. I've been thoroughly enjoying Awakening, significantly more so than Fates actually, and after beating it a few times in the last two months, I thought a PMU would be a lot of fun. So here are my rules: - Limited grinding will be allowed: I will only be allowed to fight two risen encounters between each chapter/paralogue. This rule makes the run much easier, but does not make the game as piss easy as usual (while I'm on this topic of difficulty, my biggest criticism of Awakening is that it is horribly unbalanced on Lunatic, unfairly so. If Lunatic was balanced more like how Fates Lunatic was balanced, then I'd be doing this on lunatic). - Unused Units Cannot be Used AT ALL -- No meat shields, no pairup/support fodder. - Child Units' usability is tied to their parent's -- This means Morgan is guaranteed to be used (which breaks the game, but idgaf). Other children can only exist if both of their parents are usable. Child units DO NOT take up their own slot. This means that if Panne is picked for me, then Yarne comes with her (provided someone can support with her). - No DLC maps/classes -- I don't own them anyway - Renown Boosts/bonus items will be usable -- But I cannot access the bonus teams/maps at all. They are more for fun or flavor anyway. But I feel like having Forseti or Tyrfing sit in my inventory for roughly 10 chapters before anyone MIGHT have A tomes/swords isn't that big of a problem. - Second Seals are usable -- It's the best part of the class system of this game, and it will let me patch up some problems (namely, what if no flyer? What if no Gaius? I need a thief). Now for the Unit Limitations: - Chrom, Robin, Virion (He's my fave Awakening character, so he stays. Love that asshole) + 7 gen 1's. - You decide my Robin Bane/Boon/Sex -- I am going to self-restrict myself in terms of classes: I cannot become a Sorcerer or a Dark Flier, and neither can Morgan. Being able to easily set up Vantage + Vengance + Nosferatu is overpowered in every sense of the word, and is a level of cheese I really don't want to use. I'll be updating this thread as I go, and as you guys line my roster. Don't decide classes for the selected units, as I've already banned the OP shit from me and Morgan, and second seals are limited on Gen 1s anyway.   19. I want to replay Birthright, I actually kinda like its characters and classes and I also never did a PMU so... here I am! I might post a playlog of sorts to relay my experience with your units if anyone is interested. THE RULES:-I will be using Corrin + 9 parent units + 6 children units; each user gets to pick one unit only-Children can be picked regardless of whether or not parents were picked (keep in mind they will be most likely be recruited in the last chapters though)-No capturing bosses-The first user gets to pick Corrin's sex, final class (it could be different from talent) and boon/bane, not their spouse; they may pass up the chance to do so obviously-DLC classes available: Dread Fighter, Dark Falcon, Vanguard, Great Lord, Lodestar, Witch-I reserve the right to class jump 1-3 levels in second tier to get a skill from another class tree (no Lv15 skills though)-No stupid crappy units please (no Berserker!Orochi or Onmyoji!Kaden)-I have to put units in their final classes as soon as possible (I reserve the right to scout in low level maps and eventually do the money DLC once to make up for lost gold unless someone can tell me a better way to support grind?) -Be creative and surprise me!   21. I'm on chapter 26 of Birthright and should finish it by tomorrow, so I'm already gonna create the topic so I can jump to it right after I finish the game! - 14 units (Avatar + 13). I see everyone going for 16, but only chapter 26 and Endgame allow for it, and the previous 2-3 chapters go with 15. The rest between 12-14. 14 allows (probably and hopefully) for every unit chosen to always be on the field, instead of only for the last 5% of the game. Who likes to warm the bench, right? - Any class (tell me if they need specific pairings). For DLC classes, I only have the free ones (Lodestar, Great Lord and Witch OR Ballistician and 2 Dread Fighter Scroll from Path Bonuses) - I think Lottery Shop, convo items and leveling Lilith for gold bars are fine? - If you want someone wearing a particular set of accessories, say it! So lately, in games that have a my unit, I've been doing "max stat" playthroughs where I choose a build for the avatar that allows for the highest growth and maximum cap for one particular stat. I've already done runs for defense, strength, and skill, so I decided now I'd go for magic. To spice this playthrough up a little, though, I've decided to make it a PMU. The difficulty will be hard. Here are my rules: 1.) Corrin will be + Mag/ - Str with dark mage as their talent and will promote to sorcerer. Please choose their gender and who they will S or A+ Support with. 2.) Characters suggested cannot be in their base class or a class their base would promote to. (ex: Silas can't be a cavalier, great knight, or paladin.) 3.) No DLC units or classes 4.) If a character has an abysmal strength or magic growth/base, do not put them in a purely physical or purely magical class respectively. (ex: No sorcerer Keaton) 5.) No Gunter, Kana, Izana, or Flora 6.) A child may only be picked if their father (or mother in the case of Shigure) has been too. Rule 6 has been removed. Please remember to note through which partner or friend a unit will access their new class from, if applicable.   23. I'm feeling a bit bored, so I guess it's PMU time. The rules are as follows: The game is to be played on Hard difficulty, Classic mode. It will start from New Game. Battle and Visit bonuses are banned. DLC is banned. Path bonuses are banned. My Castle features other than the Dusk Armoury, Staff Shop, and Smithy are banned. Weapons may not be forged past +1. The endgame team will include ten first-gen units and five children. Each person may choose either 1 new unit or what will be done with Corrin (i.e gender, name, appearance, Boon/Bane, Talent, spouse, skill [see rule 8]). First in best dressed, and please give the appearance in the form the game gives you when checking if everything's correct. This rule is where my PMU differs from most others: Instead of choosing the final class for a unit, the person who chooses a unit is asked to instead choose a skill their unit can learn (bearing in mind that they can't use Rev supports and possibly not Corrin either). The unit will then be required to learn that skill as soon as practical and carry it through the entire rest of the game. I will choose a final class that I feel fits and/or uses that skill. A unit's chosen skill may not be the level 15 skill of an advanced class, or equivalent. When children are chosen, the person choosing must also select their variable parent (unless it's Corrin's kid, then it's left to the person choosing Corrin's stuff). Units who are not selected may be deployed up to and including Chapter 22, but only to either satisfy forced deployment or provide necessary support levels for a selected unit to exist and/or learn their chosen skill. Units list: GENERATION ONE: Batta (Corrin): Male, +Str - Skl, Oni Savage Talent, skill is Death Blow, and will marry Peri. Appearance: Build 2, Face 4, Hair 2, Hair Colour 24, no facial feature. Chosen by Hylian Air Force. Final class will be Blacksmith, to stay in the Oni tree and still have Yato (plus Salvage Blow can't hurt either). Luna!Arthur (chosen by eclipse, final class will be Paladin as it's both mounted [to fit Luna being learnt by a horse class] and still relates to his justice obsession). Lunge!Elise (chosen by Jeheza, final class will be Malig Knight because innate magic stat + wyvern for lunge). I must say, thank you for choosing this, I love Wyvern Elise. HP+5!Camilla (chosen by joshcja, final class will be Berserker to make best use of innate Axes and be in the skill's class tree). Lethality!Beruka (chosen by Anomalocaris, final class will be Master Ninja because it fits Lethality). By the way, another great choice, as Lethality fits Beruka's character so well. Sol!Benny (chosen by deskita, final class will be Berserker to utilise Benny's apparently high skill with innate crit). Lucky7!Odin (requested by Enemy Stand, final class of Adventurer because Pass, Staves, skill).   25. I dropped Fates a few weeks before Sun and Moon came out, and I think I kinda... restricted myself with the Luna!BR and Hard!CQ PMUs, which made them really hard to get back into. I'll not delve further into my reasons why I'm stopping them since this is too long already. For now, I'd like to do a Hard mode Conquest PMU. I'm choosing to play Casual because this is for fun, and I wanna ease myself back into Fates. Also, rules: Avatar is fully customizable (Can be by one or multiple people). 2 picks per person. Children need 1 parent picked. I won't stop you from giving me garbage units, but I do ask for mercy. No Gunter. I know I said I'm fine with garbage, but Gunter is worse than garbage. I may ban the Yato, Brynhildr and Siegfried for myself. Depends on what units I get. Only 1 of each DLC class, and all are allowed. Please don't give me the same unit/class combos as on my old CQ PMU, which are in the spoiler below. There are a good amount removed as I never recruited or reclassed them, so I see no need to exclude them from this.
