  1. Hello everyone well ok it is another emulator problem sorry everyone haha ok I admit it I`m a total nood when it comes to these kinds of emulators other than ZSNES and VBA. The Sega Saturn not a very good game system yes? well seems like it anyway I wanted to play Castlevania symphony of the night I`m sure many of you know that game but I wanted to play the saturn version as it is actually better than the PS1 version there is much more content and 2 extra dungeons underground garden and cursed prison so yeah the saturn version is pretty darn decent. So I go searching for an emulator ran into many problems getting the thing to start up Many people say use SSF Saturn emulator. The site I downloaded it from says recommended emulator is Satourne to run it I tried both many times only to end in nothing. Satourne the closest I got was the title screen but..When I try to press the buttons NOTHING HAPPENS! it was just stuck and then it froze and lagged :( I try SSF same thing it says my computer is missing some dll thing or whatever for the newer versions of the SSF emulator. So I do a last resort move if the new versions of the emulator don`t work how about the older one? I download SSF Saturn version 0.09 it works!! buut one problem just one the game has really bad lag :o why? is it because I`m playing it in my laptop?? it can`t be ZSNES and VBA run so smooth here so what is going on? am I missing any BIOS files at all? that affect the speed? I checekd all the little options inside the emulator and nothing it still lags I would hate to turn away now when I`ve come so far so yeah what is up with the lag? is it the emulator itself? if so how do I fix it? nothing else is wrong it is just the speed that is really bad so much lag I had to quit playing because it was that slow. Thanks to anyone who has had same problems and may be able to help as I`m sure I`m not the only one who has had a major lag problem Maybe I should change emulators as both may not be able to properly run Castlevania...
  2. http://genesismini.sega.com/ With the announcement of new games on the system recently, I’d like to announce that I am interested in a Sega Genesis Mini. Anyone else interested? 3. Not sure if that many people are fans of SEGA games or not, but I've been playing a whole lot of them recently! Space Channel 5, NiGHTS, A whole lot of Puyo Puyo, The House of the Dead, and Plenty of Sonic 2! I dunno, I think Sega is starting to get a stable footing in the hearts of gamers with the release of Sonic Mania (which is heard is really good but... I'm waiting for PC release) So the questions arrives: What are your favorite SEGA games? Do you still play said games to this day? Seriously, there's a lot to choose from!
  4. I made a thread where people can discuss their experiences with Sega systems like the Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Gear, Saturn, and Dreamcast. Also what games they like the most on each system respectively.
  5. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-04-12/bandai-namco-ent-reveals-project-x-zone-2-game/.87060 Here we go! A sequel to Project X Zone! New characters, different paired units of from the first and.. Well much more! Interesting possibilities are in the wind I feel! Special thanks to Breezy for happening to run across this via a Sakura Wars tweet. http://youtu.be/O_ggRnpMMSU
  6. Its not news that Japanese gaming companies like Sega, Capcom, Konami, and Square Enix are not doing so hot. This decline has been going for a couple of years now but its recently come to a head mostly with news of Sega's financial woes and Konami's questionable if not outright criminal business practices. This is due to a number of reasons but they usually center around producing poor products one after the other (ala Sonic Boom), firing their creative minds (Konami), bad DLC practices which dissuade the market (Capcom), and a general shift from producing AAA titles to ports on mobile platforms and Pachinko Machines (Konami and Square Enix). If the recent news is proof of anything this shift in business practice has been detrimental to their companies. For starters Capcom has been on the verge of bankruptcy for the past couple of years and its speculated that they will be bought out eventually despite their strong anti-takeover policy. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/06/capcom_could_be_up_for_sale_after_shareholders_reject_anti_takeover_plan While Sega's CEO has gone on record at admitting their poor products and "betraying" their fanbase their profits are down by 40-50% which is pretty bad for any business regardless and bar Atlus they have no future releases outside of Japan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsGlmNM8OhA Konami has had nothing but bad press as of late with the controversial firing of Kojima and the harsh business practices and shift to Pachinko and mobile games. Needless to say it doesn't seem to be helping given that they voluntarily delisted themselves from the NYC stock exchange as a "cost saving measure" http://www.polygon.com/2015/4/27/8503893/konami-delists-itself-from-new-york-stock-exchange My question is as many good IPs and products these companies produced in the past, what the hell happened? Its as if they abandoned a working strategy and catalog of good products in favor of jumping on the mobile bandwagon and have made one terrible decision after the last. I get that the mobile market is huge in Japan but so far it doesn't seem to be paying off at all for these companies and if anything it has had the opposite effect and is driving them to bankruptcy and irrelevance. Sure you could port a game like Final Fantasy over to mobile but what average mom or joe is going to care about it let alone pay $15 for it? I'm not the only one seeing this am I? Anyone else have thoughts or information regarding the Japanese market? Is there something I'm missing or uniformed on?
  7. this is just a concept but i would like to get some creative input on this idea I've been thinking about for a few years. I've always had this crazy thought in my mind "why not cross over two classic srpgs from the 16 bit era". I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person to come up with this idea but i want to see this running on the Genesis over the snes. I want to slightly change the art style of the Shining Force characters to match up with the FE characters. So here's how I've wanted to cross over the games Akaneia saga x SF1 Elibe saga x SF2 and here's where i go crazy Tellius and Jugdral saga x Shining Force cd The gameplay will be more like Fire Emblem when it comes to battles, your characters strike and the enemy counters. Spells will work like they do in shining force as in they have an are of hit rather than hitting one enemy. Which can be countered if close enough. Recruitment will vary by the origin of the characters as in FE characters will be recruited in battle and the SF cast will be found in the villages. There however will be an exception for SFcd where all characters will be recruited on the battle field. when it come to the type of enemies you will fight on the field they will mostly consist of monsters from SF When it comes to exploring the towns the player will be able to choose whether to explore the villages as the lead FE character, lead SF character, or the player avatar. The player will be able to explore the village and talk to the other characters in the party which can affect support bonuses ( this part I have not thought all the way through) and that's my idea Fire Emblem x Shining Force on the Genesis (Fire Emblem could use a little blast processing)
