  1. I did saw GameXplain mentions some bad news for some players who purchases stuff from an official Nintendo of Japan Twitter account that has been announced that both ending Credit Card Purchases and Payment Methods for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop around in 2022 in Japan. If you're still using Credit Card purchases that not using those Prepaid Cards that you might want to purchase the necessary stuff like games and DLCs. I am still planning on buying the rest of the DLC content in my Wii U console along with getting the other Nintendo 3DS downloadable only titles and other DSiWare games in my Nintendo 3DS system.
  2. So I've been bidding my time to get a Nintendo Switch and I know I could be waiting quite some time due to the high demand, nand shortages, and little supply. Now I know I probably will get one eventually even if its many months on down the line as I'm very impressed with Nintendo's future lineup for it. Needless to say I've been dying to play BoTW so I'm a bit torn. Wait for who knows how long to get a Switch and the Switch version of the game or just get the Wii U version of the game and be able to play it. What I want to know other than the obvious portable advantage of the Switch would I be losing out on anything with the Wii U version? I have heard that load times are a bit cumbersome and earlier on before the patch the game ran pretty rough on the Wii U. Thanks.
  3. So I've been wanting to make some YouTube videos for a while now, and while I could do PC gaming since I have that setup going for me. I want to be able to do some Console videos as well, specifically Wii U, and later on Nintendo Switch videos. Right now I have some Smash 4 videos in mind, and I'd like to have a capture card to record it in good quality. While I would use the replay system to do acquire footage, I would imagine it would be easier to be able to record it. And Smash 4 Wii U's replay system of uploading to YouTube it only uploads the video at 720p 30fps. Which while it's not terrible, it still takes a long time to do with that method. And I personally believe a fighting game like smash 4 should be shown in 60 fps. I've done a bit of research and apparently the Elgato Game Capture card is popular, so I have my eye on buying one. However I've found 3 different versions of it so i'm confused on which one I should buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/elgato-game-capture-hd60-s-black/5187800.p?skuId=5187800 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/elgato-game-capture-hd60-multi/7634008.p?skuId=7634008 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/elgato-game-capture-hd/8838042.p?skuId=8838042 Anyone happen to know which capture card out of these would be the best? Quality wise and Money wise.
  4. lmao, so no joke, my friend and I were playing a couple rounds of Smash 4, and I like to go random as he's still trying to come to grips with the game, right. So we pick the stage, and it gives us a tip for Palutena, and I kinda have this weak moment in my brain where I go: "Palutena.. Palutena, Palute- who is Palutena?" So the battle starts, cue her entrance animation, and my mind goes blank so I pause the game and look at him, and he mirrors my look. We both laugh in the moment, because.. Palutena is just so irrelevant in Smash 4. I COMPLTELEY forgot she existed, at all. And I secondary Pit!
  5. As per suggested by Knife, I am trying out the Swiss format of tournaments. For an explaination of what Swiss is, scroll past the rule-set. THE BRACKET Ruleset 3 Stock 8 Minutes Best 2 of 3 5 Round Swiss Tournament No Customs Starter Stages ● Battlefield ● Final Destination ● Smashville ● Dreamland 64 ● Town & City Counterpick Stages ● Duck Hunt ● Lylat Cruise ● Halberd ● Omega Stages* * Treated as Final Destination in banning phase. If Final Destination is banned, Omega Stages are banned and vice versa.** What is a Swiss styled tournament? A swiss tournament, is when the players all go a set number of rounds against certain opponents. No one is eliminated, instead players get points for their performance every round. Those with similar points will face off in the later rounds, the first round will be based on seeds, that Euklyd my second in command so to speak, sets up. The point setups are thus. You get 1 point for winning a match in a set, you get 1 whole point for winning a set. This will result in the winner of a set getting 3 points, but if you manage a win even if you lose the set, you'll still come out of the set with a point to your name. A perfect score would be 15 points. As we are doing 5 rounds. If there is a tie between two people, then we will have a best 3 out of 5 grand finals, if there is more than 2 tied somehow, we will continue with another round, until there is a proper victor The way stage choice works is thus, either both players agree to a stage to start on, or do a method to decide who starts striking stages, my personal suggestion is Game & Watch Hammer, which is when both players pick Game & Watch and use his Side B move and whomever gets a higher number gets the first stage strike. This is also a good way to lag test. The person who strikes first, strikes a stage from the Starter list, then the 2nd person strikes a stage and this continues until only one starter stage left which is the one you both play on Whomever wins a match, can strike 2 stages and the person who lost may select out of the remaining legal stages. There is also something called Dave's Stupid rule, where you cannot counter-pick to a stage you've won on in the set This will keep the strict timelines seen in Joined by Fate (JBF), However since this is Swiss, the time-frames will be somewhat more generous. 4 to 5 days a round Character Changes - While you can change your characters during the set, you must tell your opponent you are switching and who to, as is proper in an official tournament. Unless you 2 agree to be secretive, I don't mind either way There is also the Gentleman's agreement, in which both players can agree to play on a nonlegal stage, this also can override Dave's Stupid Rule Mii Fighters are allowed, but they must be 1111 set, sorry folks. - Not Sure About Replays at this point of time. - Please give me your NNID when you sign up, even if you did previously, just for consistency sake. 6. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/08/15/pokemon-snap-coming-to-wii-u-virtual-console-in-europe Kinda curious why only Europe, and why we haven't gotten a sequel considering... the 3DS and U both have things that would make it feel more akin to taking snapshots, but aw well, hope you enjoy it over there in Europe!
  7. Welcome to the King of Dankness! in this gimmick tourney, we have the honor, nay the privilege to use only Ganondorf in an epic 16 Dorf battle to the death. If people really want a 3DS version of this, feel free to ask, and show you have a bit of support, because I felt this kind of tourney would only appeal to some, the next main tournament will be Swiss styled, as suggested by Knife. Which will again be a dual system tourney set, 3DS and Wii U. The start of this tournament is likely to be the middle or towards the end of the month. Although if we get a full bunch really fast it could be sooner. The Bracket: http://sforestsmash.challonge.com/GanondorfLovesTennis The Schedule Round 1 will be the 9th through the 13th Round 2/Round 1 Losers will be the 14th through the 18th Winners Semis/Round 2 Losers will be the 19th through the 21st Winners Finals/Round 3 Losers will be the 22nd through the 24th Round 4 Losers - 25th - 27th Losers semis 28th - 30th Grand Finals - 31st through the 1st Ruleset 3 Stock 8 Minutes Best 2 of 3, except in Finals, best 3 out of 5 Double Elimination No Customs Starter Stages ● Battlefield ● Final Destination ● Smashville ● Dreamland 64 ● Town & City Counterpick Stages ● Duck Hunt ● Lylat Cruise ● Halberd ● Omega Stages* * Treated as Final Destination in banning phase. If Final Destination is banned, Omega Stages are banned and vice versa.** - The main law of this tournament is that, you can only use Ganondorf, You must use your dank and sick style against the darkness itself, who will come out victorious!? The way stage choice works is thus, either both players agree to a stage to start on, or do a method to decide who starts striking stages, my personal suggestion is Game & Watch Hammer, which is when both players pick Game & Watch and use his Side B move and whomever gets a higher number gets the first stage strike. 8. In your opinion, should the next Fire Emblem game be for the 3DS, Wii U, or the NX? We have had two Fire Emblem games for the 3DS and none for the Wii U (apart from the crossover game). So, with the NX coming in 2017, I was wondering what people want the next Fire Emblem game to be for; the 3DS, Wii U, or NX.
  9. As Nerf Me to the Moon Wii U ended and 3DS is starting to get to the end of its run, I figured its time for another one of these, and as you know, the next gimmick tourney is in the voting phase http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=64659 Is there anything you lot would like to see in the next standard tourney? Doubles perhaps? A bigger group of players? Seeing as we are getting alot more people interested in general it seems like. If you'd like to voice future ideas for gimmick tourneys that works too. I'm open to suggestions for changing up the next traditional tourney a little bit, but nothing like not tourney legal, just mild suggestions, if people have a arguments for a stage being legal, this is the time to voice it, also peoples opinions on Halberd would be nice to know, since we've had it be "legal" the past few tourneys. Also 3DS folks, I would like to hear your opinions as well, considering I scrapped up that stage list with the best intentions but was unsure how it'd work out, among other things. This is also a good time to ask me questions about what goes on behind the scenes when I set these tournaments up, if you are curious. Current Champions of Past Tourneys
  10. Welcome to Nerf Me to the Moon! Which is the next segment in our smash tourneys, This will mostly be currently an interest check, as my capture card is acting funky so I won't be able to record matches. However I would like to continue these as it helps our players maintain their growths. The name was suggested by Refa, to make a fun little poke at the 1.1.6 patch, there will also be a 3DS edition as well this time around The time this will start is not clear to even me at the moment, I just need to make sure I can get 16 people for each, we will then decide a schedule based on that timeframe Bracket: http://sforestsmash.challonge.com/NMttMU Ruleset 3 Stock 8 Minutes Best 2 of 3, except in Finals, best 3 out of 5 Double Elimination No Customs Starter Stages ● Battlefield ● Final Destination ● Smashville ● Dreamland 64 ● Town & City Counterpick Stages ● Duck Hunt ● Lylat Cruise ● Halberd ● Omega Stages* * Treated as Final Destination in banning phase. 11. Two things: One; I have no idea how to make a poll (so could anyone who replies please tell me how to make this topic a poll if possible). Two; I know it has not been long since Fire Emblem Fates released. However, since Fates is the second Fire Emblem game for the 3DS, and the NX will be released in 2017, I was wondering: which of the three consoles should the next Fire Emblem game be on: 3DS, Wii U, or NX?
  12. Welcome to Radiant Confrontation, the 3rd series of our ever growing smash scene. 13. ...ok, so I might know what you're thinking. "Why would you get a Wii U, it's dead anyway. Wait for NX" or "Why get a PS3 when you can get a PS4" or possibly even "why are you so late to the party anyway?!" Well...having no job until 12'th grade will do that to ya. That and no backwards compatibility(for the PS4 anyway, not sure about the NX. I hope it has it). Although, I seem to always be a console generation behind(minus my 3DS, but I digress...). However, both have games on them that I want to get like Splatoon, Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE, Pokken Tournament, Tales of Xillia, Persona 4 Arena(and it's sequel), the remakes & HD collections for certain games(like KH 2.5 since I've yet to play BBS), and a whole bunch of other stuff(that would take too long to list)! While I will most certainly get both eventually, I can only get one for the summer(and even if I wanted to get both during the summer, which I probably could if I save up a lot through the summer...somehow, I need to save my money for other stuff I actually need). So yeah, which one should I get first, a Wii U or a PS3? Thanks in advance!
  14. Now its been awhile since I've been able to go to a tourney, I may be able to this month and next month, but I'd like to play in a tourney setting with you guys again. Note there will likely be a 3DS one down the road as well. Bracket is up http://sforestsmash.challonge.com/SFRevival2016 Ruleset 3 Stock (Experimental and Texas seems to enjoy this) 8 Minutes Best 2 of 3, except in Finals, best 3 out of 5 Double Elimination No Customs The Stage List is gonna be from my scene (Blackwolf in Spokane), if you have issues with it. I'll be willing to change it around, just ask me for certain stages and present a case for or against one. If Final Destination is banned, Omega Stages are banned and vice versa. Players must adhere to the standards of stage picks, first the starter stage is decided by umm... Not sure in this case, Could rng roll or something else, but then whomever wins will cross a stage, then the other person will, etc, out of the starter stages only for the first match. Whomever wins a match, can strike 2 stages and the person who lost may select out of the remaining legal stages. I am not looking for a set number, I am looking for interest and going from there, if we have uneven numbers, I'll deal with it. Prize. I actually am looking into a prize for this competition to send the winner whenever that happens, but I'm still trying to pay rent and all that so... give me time lol Looking to start this around 1/24-1/30, But if we get 32 people, Euk and I will set up the bracket and people can do their matches early, but there will be no stress to do matches until the actual starting date. Matches will be recorded and sent to me, may as well add my NNID which is Jedisupersonic, in advance to prep for this. 15. So we have a patch coming up VERY SOON. From what we know, Marth and Lucina seem to have a forward air buff (hint in one of the Corrin/Bayo vids), hopefully they get more, but what do you all want to see in terms of possible buffs and nerfs? I actually think we just need buffs at this point, buff the cast to the levels of the higher ups, I mean in the end this is still the most balanced smash game to date, which is pretty amazing considering we currently have 56 characters.
  16. http://nintendoeverything.com/smash-splat-wii-u-deluxe-set-spotted-in-meijers-black-friday-ad/ https://meijer.shoplocal.com/meijer/BrowseByPage?PromotionCode=Meijer-151127we&PageNumber=1&cmpid=LP:OLA:110415:sub2:BFAd&StoreID=2465819 So this sort of leaked that a Smash + Splatoon Wii U bundle is coming, with both games pre-installed. It'll have the normal price of $299 (just like every other Wii U bundle), however, Meijer will have it for $249 during Black Friday, and it will add a $30 coupon as part of the sale. For those who still haven't jumped on the Wii U bandwagon, this is the bundle to get. It doesn't get any better than this.
  17. I've been waiting for new stuff on this game since it was announced awhile back, I'm a huge starfox fan and its great to see the gang back in action. Although it is slightly annoying its kind of another reboot how like 64 rebooted SNES. I'll deal with it though. I've been wanting a new Starfox for quite some time and the transformations of the arwing look pretty cool and star wars like in terms of design.
  18. As confirmed per today's Press Release. No info if America is getting it as well yet. Also Ocarina of Time and Advance Wars 2.
  19. Duck Hunt predating Game watch? 8-player smash intended for Melee? The orgin of the phrase No Johns? All here in Did you know gamings new episode centered around Smash 4. Some pretty interesting stuff here actually just thought I'd share. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ynmwFK3bfU&spfreload=10
  20. The Wii U gamepad is a strange gimmick of the Wii U. But does that make it good or bad? And before you hate, I just want to say this. It sounds like I'm completely bashing the Wii U, but that's not what it is. I love the Wii u with it's wide selection of games, but you have to admit it has some flaws. We're discussing them here. One of the first gimmicks you'll notice that's different from the Wii and the Wii U is the gamepad. Cool, right? You can even play ONLY on this thing on specific games too, so even better. But then it hits you. It's just an IPad with the 3DS type buttons and 2 sticks. Not very creative. Not to mention, it has that touch control too. So... A 3ds style IPad. And, would you even want to use this huge ipad as a controller anyway? I'm not playing smash bros on that thing. And if I'm using the TV too, how do I control both looking at each simultaneously? (Hear that pikmin 3?) Pros: Can be used to play without using the Tv, can be used as a second controller Cons: Even though it can be used as a second controller, its still hard to use on some specific games like smash bros. Not too creative.
  21. I honestly don't know what's happening. When I was using my ipad, the Wii u just turned on. When I turn it off, it turns back on. This cycle keeps going. Nothing is even near it, it just turns on. What's happening? Please don't make any troll comments.
  22. Having a hard time finding your favorite amiibo? Here's a site I found that updates by the minute on what is in stock and where. It can save time looking at several sites hunting down your favorites and you can even set it to alert you when they come in stock so that you can get it before it runs out. Hope this helps you guys. http://www.nowinstock.net/videogaming/games/amiibo/ EDIT: If you have any other tools or sites to help find amiibos that might help others here feel free to post them.
  23. Ok so here's the deal I've got one $50 Best buy gift card and I'm debating how to use it. The four games I'm currently looking at right now are Hyrule Warriors, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, and Captain Toad. I don't know a whole lot about these games but I think right now I'm leaning toward either Donkey Kong Country or Hyrule Warriors. My only hesitation behind Hyrule Warriors is that while I love the hell out of Zelda I realize it is at its core a Dynasty Warriors game. From what I've heard Captain Toad is phenomenal as well as Pikmin 3. As always any input is appreciated. Already own: Bayonetta 2 SSB4 Mario Kart 8 Windwaker HD Mario 3D World NintendoLand Mass Effect 3 Assains Creed 3 Batman Arkham Orgins Black Ops II
  24. Topic. Only games I have for the Wii U atm are Nintendo Land and Mario Kart 8. Waiting to get Smash and Hyrule Warriors as well.
