  1. Has anybody seen the two episode fire emblem anime/OVA? well my question is if they were to make a sequel of sorts, which game would be best suited to a television/film interpretation, I think a "radiant" movie would be cool, that game has real cinematic edge, and a pretty strong plot, while awakening would make a better television series as it feels more episodically written, Fire Emblem 7 is so dramatic it reminds me of a Wagnerian opera (Is that a word?) I've also heard people compare the dark and complex plot of Geneology to that of game of thrones, though that one might have to come in at least two separate parts with possibly a third for thracia 776, i dunno anyone have thoughts on this?
  2. Oreki san, watashi kininarimasu! I want to know which anime your favorite are since there is no topic like this, at least i found no topic like this. I have watched many Anime and have read many Manga and Doujinshi but i want to know what other like. another reason for this topic is for people who don't know anime very well and get a good impression on it, (like some of my Tomodachis at school, who were first like "isn't it this crazy japan shit with tentacle rape and Oppai?" and i introduced them to a good manga(beelzebub) and now they are otakus) you are allowed to say something like "boku no pico", "Mahou Shouio Ai" or "Kuroinu: Kedakaki Seijou wa Hakudaku ni Somaru" or Doujinshi like "Cult of the Lust God" but i would not recommend it since some people my be new in the world of anime and the majority will look at you in a negative way or pissed off -.-'' and your prestige will drastically sink. I'd appriciate if you make a top 3 or 5 or whatever and write the tags that are most fitting My list: Romance/Psychological>Horror/Splatter 1.School days (Romance, Slice of life) (best Anime in EXISTENCE imo) 2.Sakurasou no pet na kanajou (Romance, Slice of life)+Toradora(Romance, Slice of life) 3.Monogatari Series(Psychological, Romance)+Corpse Party(Horror, Splatter) 4.Shiki(Horror, Splatter)+Mirai Nikki(Splatter, Romance) 5.Akame ga kill(Splatter, Superpower)+Steins;Gate(Time-Travel, Romance)
  3. For example, Veruca's dad sounds like Goku from Dragon Ball Z, and Violet Beauregarde sounds like Lucy Heartfillya from Fairy Tail.
  4. As the title says, who would die? I have a few ideas, which are the following: Kliff: Dies during the battle at the Southern Outpost, to introduce to the audience the idea that anyone can die Faye: Dies in the aftermath of the defeat of Desaix, having been wounded in the battle and dying after the fact to make the battle seem less victorious. Tobin: Dies during the final battle against Duma, as more fuel for Alm to attack Duma with more power and anger. What do you think? Any bad ideas on mine or any you would add/change?
  5. So back in the day, me and my siblings used to enjoy some of the pikachu shorts almost as much as the movies they came with, so I thought I'd make a discussion thread about them. I have the most experience with the first 5 shorts, since those are the ones that we incessantly re-watched. There are three shorts that I like more than the others Pikachu and Pichu is probbably the strongest Pokemon short, even though watching it today can be a little ironic because it more or less ends with Ash turning eleven. At the time or release though, there was nothing wrong with the ending, and on top of being sweet, it even hinted that the anime (like the games between gen 1 and gen 2) would make some accomadations for real time passing over the course of the series. I also really like the hide and seek short with the evil lawnmower and the first short where they go on vacation and get in a fight with some generation 2 pokemon like Snubbul and Marill. They felt sweet and I think they did a lot to establish the tone of the pikachu shorts as strictly following the pokemon acting on their own as opposed to the main series, which makes them enjoyable. I guess I'd like to start a thread to hear other people's thoughts on the shorts? I wonder if I missed any good ones by tapping out of the series after generation 4? Also I kind of wonder if the reduced importance of the Pokemon shorts has anything to do with (pichu in melee vs later smash bros games) ? I'm not really sure how important people consider the shorts compared to the movies, but given that the movies can sell a pokemon like Lucario's popularity, I would imagine that the shorts must have some amount of influence... This thread is for the movie shorts. It is not for specials (such as winter vacation episodes), The Pokemon Channel short, or for Pokemon Generations.
  6. I love anime a lot. And even more than that, I love music. So obviously I love anime openings. The combination of great music, beautiful visuals, and well done cinematography make watching a good opening a treat at the beginning of every episode, and I almost never skip an opening. Following that same logic, EDs are the perfect way to end an episode, leaving me thinking about what just happened in the episode and hungry for more if the show. So what are your favorite opening and ending themes? There are so many different types of openings, it's super hard to choose for me personally, but here are some of my favorites! Secret Base (Anohana) - Anohana is the only show to date that's made me cry, and this song evokes that perfect feeling. It was the song that played whenever a sad event was going on at the end of an episode, and just hits your heart in all the perfect places, topping it all off with bittersweet visuals that pull your heartstrings. It's nothing complex or inventive, but it does everything it wants to do perfectly. Lilium (Elfen Lied) - I've never had an anime opening scare me before I watched this opening. It's beautiful, spine chilling, and leaves you unnerved and ready to watch the slaughter of a show that's to come. There's no real way to describe the feeling the opening gives, so I'd suggest you watch it yourself to get the full experience. Hello, World (Kekkai Sensen) - This OP surprised me. I went into this show without very high expectations, expecting another action show without much difference to others. The first episode didn't exactly draw me in that much either. But as soon as that opening started on the second episode, I was immediately sucked into the beautiful mixture of bright lights and seeing through the main character's eyes. Without the opening to this show, chances are I wouldn't have stuck around long enough to actually love the show. Colors (Code Geass) - Nostalgia. This opening reeks of nostalgia for me, and I could recognize the song anywhere. It does a perfect job of getting you ready to watch Lelouch take on the world. Not only that, but it manages to fit most of the cast into it (even if most of them you only see a second or so), giving you time to wonder about who a specific character is and when you'll meet them. EVERY MONOGATARI OP/ED - Maybe I'm biased because of my love for the series, but every single OP and ED in the Monogatari Series is beautiful, inventive, or just plain fun. Even with the huge multitude of OPs in the series, I can't say that the quality of them are low or that they aren't enjoyable. They manage to both have quantity and quality. I could probably go on forever, but I'm going to stop there for now. Anyone else have any interesting things I didn't mention (or did mention)? I'm really excited to see!
  7. I didn't see any topic about this so I thought I'd make one. Anyone else excited to see two more seasons of this masterpiece? Im very torn. One one hand, the new character designs are sorta generic and I'm nervous that it'll lack the charm of the original show. But on the other hand, FLCL is back and the Pillows are back. Honeslty I just want a full version of that song in the trailer, Spiky Seeds. That song just made me feel nostalgic for some reason.
  8. Jedi

    Batman Ninja

With anime talent coming off Jojo, Gurren Lagann and more to aid this project its sure to be interesting at the very least.
  9. So I would appreciate if y'all could make some Corrins that resemble anime characters maybe?
  10. http://www.aniplex.co.jp/p5a/ Video trailer once you enter the site is apparently exclusive to Japan, so don't be surprised when it doesn't play. From the same studio who did the Persona 5: The Day Breakers, Persona 4: The Golden Animation, and the last 3 Persona 3 movies. Thoughts?
  11. So I recently got back into My Hero Academia, had a binge over the weekend and now I'm caught up on the show. I plan on reading the manga, but I want to know: who are you're favorite heroes/what are your favorite quirks? Note: Spoilers ahead Mine are: Hanta Sero (Tape) He's the reason I got back into Hero Academia again. After seeing that fight scene with Todoroki in the Sports Festival, I decided, "Damn, I gotta finish this show." Normally, people would think Todoroki would be the one amaze people, but something about Sero made him become one of my favorites. Despite his simplistic looks, I really like the way he looks. His outfits pretty cool to. I hope he gets a bigger role later on. Toru Hagakure (Transparency) An absolutely adorable character. Even if she's invisible, I really like her upbeatness. Also, I love her little bits with Ojiro. It makes me question though: If Eraser Head can eliminate quirks, wouldn't she be visible? There are certain scenes where Eraser Head calms down everyone by shutting down their quirks. I really want to know what she actually looks like. Izuku Midoriya (All for One) Yes, the protagonist. He's one of my favorites of many protags I've seen. Despite being a very big loser/coward on all outsides, he's shown to be very analytic and smart with his abilities. Many times, he's shown shaking in intimidation and fear, but the next, he can be glaring with eyes of determination. His development is far better than some others I've seen. Plus, his fight scenes are amazing. Izuku vs Todoroki was awesome. His thumb lip shot was the coolest move I've seen him do (when he was incapable of using it properly). Kyoka Jiro (Earphone Jack) Most of the time, quirks like her are either split into some kind of super screech and super senses. I think the idea of her quirk is pretty cool. Despite that, I love her style and personality though. She's probably the least fanservice female of Class A (It depends on what you're into really). Her quarreling with Kaminari are pretty cute bits too. I like lots of the others like Todoroki, Tokoyami, and Mei, but the list would be pretty big so I stuck with these guys. Who are your favorites? (Hoping this topic is seen because of how quiet this side of the forums seems to be...)
  12. Hey everyone, I've been doing a monthly Voice Actor series with different Fire Emblem Heroes' VO performers. This time I got Greg Chun because he was lucky enough to score the role of Ike in addition to Ephraim, Eldigan, and Lukas. I found out that he also did Lukas' voice for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and that he found it intimidating to embody everybody's favorite mercenary. Greg has some great insights about breaking into voice acting, overusing your voice, and a little bit on the process behind winning some of his roles. He actually broke into VO through an Arnold Schwarzenegger impression! https://comedyngaming.com/news/interview-greg-chun-fire-emblems-new-ike Hope you enjoy it!
  13. I would like to hear everyone's thoughts and reactions to the American Live Action Deathnote on Netflix.
  14. "The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016." December 23 is a Friday, so presumably the first one comes out tomorrow. Thoughts? I'm excited. This is probably why the Pokemon youtube channel uploaded Origins episode 1 yesterday.
  15. I was wondering what you guys think about the new upcoming Sun & Moon anime... I don't really follow the pokémon anime anymore, but from what I've gathered the X&Y series were (generally) positively received and considered a step in the right direction. I can't help but be a bit concerned when looking at this trailer... I guess I should applaud the fact that they're trying to change the formula after all these years, but I think many fans are going to be disappointed when it comes to the more simplistic artstyle (which reminds me of Yo-kai watch) and the new story concept that seems to be targeted to a even younger audience than the one right now. Of course there are a lot of things we don't know yet, so maybe it is too soon to draw conclusions? Is there still interest from older fans towards the anime? Maybe Game Freak is trying to split their viewers into two age groups, 'Pokémon Generations' catering towards an older audience and the core series towards a younger one? Let the speculation and or discussion commence! P.S. I'm aware of the fact that the Pokémon sub-forum is listed under 'general gaming' and that this topic covers the anime and not a game. But in my eyes, this place still seemed the best location to post this thread. Also I do not own or made the featured video, that honor goes to youtuber giancarloparimango11.
  16. Exactly what is says on the tin, only the best of the best errors. madoka is lowkey cheating because of how beautiful it is
  17. Hello! So, I am a big fan of the anime series and mobile game, Love Live! School Idol Festival! (yes that's the title). The anime currently has two seasons, and I believe there is supposedly more coming. However, this thread is not about the anime, its about the mobile game! LLSIF is a rhythm game including a brand new story, separate from that of the anime. If you really enjoy rhythm games and the such, you should check it out on the App Store or Google Play, whichever your device uses. LLSIF is free to play, but it does offer in-app purchases, however the purchases are far from necessary to continue through the game. This thread is mainly for people that are already familiar with the game, so from here on there won't be much for people who don't play the game or haven't heard of it. If you don't have the game yet, I highly recommend checking it out and becoming a part of the community! You can read a little bit more about the game here: schoolido.lu/ or you can just search "School Idol Tomodachi" and it will be the first page. Anyway, the main point of this thread is to share our experiences, share friend codes, and generally talk about the game. Here are my friend codes for both the English Server and Japanese Server English: 939582942 (Blake ^-^) Japanese: 807703361 (Arlis)
  18. This is really exciting news to me. Although I joined in late with Dragon Ball Z Kai, it was still my first anime. What would you like to see in the new saga of Dragon Ball? People have been speculating that the gods from the movies will be an important element in the new series.
  19. Am I the only one who reckons Path of Radiance would make a F**KING GOOD full length Jap-anime film? I prefer FE7 as a game, but 9 has an amazing plot I'd love to see in a film. Tonnes of detail and relatable to the real world I think. I play that game more for the story than the gameplay to be honest. I'd comment also on Radiant Dawn, but I can't find a place to buy that f**king game anywhere -_____- What do y'all think? Is there a more fitting game for an anime film in your opinion? Or would a film ruin your love for the series?
  20. The Fire Emblem series had an anime a while back like in 1997. It was based off of Mystery of the Emblem and wasn't very popular, having only two episodes in the English dub. I think it would be amazing if they made a Fire Emblem anime in the style they do the cutscenes in the games. This one would probably be a lot more successful than the past one in my opinion. I can see how Nintendo would want to avoid that thinking that it would be the same failure as the 1997 one. Fire Emblem is the perfect series for an anime I think, it already has amazing cutscenes so just make a lot more of those and form it into a story and bam, theres your Fire Emblem anime. I would also prefer more than 2 episodes this time and an actual decent story, but I'll take about anything xD. So would you like to see a new Fire Emblem anime in the future? What are some of your ideas for a story for it?
  21. Hello there everyone, I'm good ol' Kanethedragon. Currently I'm a student aiming towards making a hit into the game industry, but I still got quite a bit of time ahead of me before that. I'm a passionate fan of Anime as well as video games and am on constant update with the seasons for both industries (even though 90% of games I mostly experience through vids rather than in my hands due to never having the $ for it all.) I have a youtube account that hasn't seen much content from me til recently ever since I started it up back in 2010, and said recent content being added is done through streaming from twitch and then exporting the broadcast. I also happen to know my way around programs like photoshop and illustrator and am a certified associate for both programs (though certainly not an expert.) Other than that, the anime I watch and games I play are varied. I have a relatively decent pc that I use for a few stuff from steam as well as Osu! and FFXIV. I also play Leagues of Legends every now and then if anyone's interested, but I don't get on it too often and I tend to know how to work my best around Ahri and a bit of Ashe and Akali. When it comes to console games, on the Nintendo side I have just recently got into Fire Emblem with Awakening and am currently in the midst of support grinding and netting copies of Limit Breaker to maximize my entire army's stats. I also technically beaten Lunatic, but I never got the children and nearly my entire deployed group died (it's classic) so that's why I'm over-grinding currently so that I truly beat Lunatic and then move to L+ Classic (which I plan on using the free emblem once available to snatch my MU because I am never going to run CH3 ever again without a guide. I needed to pull all the strategy out of my head when I did that on my Lunatic run to not get anyone killed.) As of right now my main unit is sitting pretty nicely with a Dread Fighter +Mag/-Lck Armsthr/Ignis/Lifetak/Aggressor build and holding the Book of Naga, a forged Bolt for Crit and Damage, Mercurius, Vengeance, and a forged Brave Axe for 16 Mt and 80 hit. Outside of FE, other Nintendo console-based games I play include the LoZ series, Rune Factory Tides of Destiny for the Wii and 4 for the 3DS (and hopefully 3 eventually), Smash Bros (only have SB4 on 3DS so far though), Pokemon, Gunvolt, and a few others. I also have a few games on my wishlist for Nintendo consoles which include Fatal Frame 5, Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, quite a few LoZ games, Rodea: The Sky Soldier, KH3D, Eternal Magna, Xenoblade and others you may or may not know of. Continuing with the games, I also happen to be a dedicated Playstation fan of late as well. The starters of this include my current favourite video game franchise of all time Ar Tonelico, as well as other games like Hyperdimension Neptunia, Disgaea, the Atelier series, and I have a profound interest in low-key games for consoles I don't own yet (specifically the Vita) like Operation Abyss, Freedom Wars, Danganropa, GODS EATER and others that I currently don't have their names in my mind. As a denomer, I am somewhat fluent in Japanese (can read some kanji as well as hiragana and katakana) and I am capable of generally translating information from Japanese releases. I also happen to be a huge japan-o-phile/anime culture fanatic, borderline what some may jokingly or seriously call a filthy weaboo. And speaking of that I'll go into my anime interests. As of right now I'm watching shows from this season which include Punchline, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, Kekkai Sensen (or Blood Blockade Battlefront...and I'm REALLY lovin it so far), DanMachi (Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon?), Fate Stay/Night UBW, Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End), Kyoukai no Rinne (RIN-NE), and Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku (Mikagura School Suite). Shows I've watched include Dog Days all seasons, To Aru all seasons, Hayate no Gotoku! up to Cuties, Kill la Kill, Aldnoah Zero (S2 sucked horribly though..music was great), Space Dandy S1, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi Kai, 11eyes, Shugo Chara, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Mouretsu Pirates, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, Sacred Seven, Eureka 7 all seasons, K Project, Kiddy Grade, Tokyo Ghoul S1-2, SAO S1-2, Log Horizon S1-2, Fairy Tail up to ep 10 2014, as well as many others. Basically when it comes down to it, I'm relatively well-versed in anime and have known quite a few that are relatively good but might've been passed up by most and vice versa. And there ya go, all there is to know about Kanethedragon. And if I haven't mentioned it already, I'm a Floridian, so there you are. I also have a rarely used Deviantart under my name as well as a twitter and facebook account which are connected to my youtube and twitch accounts. And with that, I hope to see you all in the forums ;P
  22. I just realized that the plot concept reminds me a bit of Code Geass. Especially with the European inspired nation oppressing the Japanese inspired nation... XD Kamui's situation is almost like a cross between Lelouch and Suzaku. :) What does the game remind you of?
  23. So anyone here into DBZ? I think I saw a few people with DBZ avatars on here once. Anyways, I'll be using this thread for DBZ-related stuff. :^} Here, have a soundtrack: [spoiler=Imperfect Cell Theme]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhPj_QQx5BU
  24. Anyone know any anime a manga that resemble Fire Emblem? Whether it be wars, magic, creatures, dragons, pegasus, weapons, characters, status, circumstances, tactics, etc. The only one that I know that bears a striking resemblance is an anime called: Madan no Ou to Vanadis (The King of the Magic Bullet and Vanadis) Info Links: http://myanimelist.net/anime/24455/Madan_no_Ou_to_Vanadis https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=69978 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Marksman_and_Vanadis I have also read and watched all the Fire Emblem manga and anime available on the internet. If anyone, regardless if its only a tiny bit similar, I would love to know more. Thanks for reading.
  25. So I know the fourth episode of Memories of Phantasm was released some time back. However, while I can find raws, I cannot find any with English Subtitles. That might not exist yet, but does anyone know of one that does?
