  1. After 4 long years of work, I am very happy to present to the community: Overview The continent has been at an uneasy peace following the fierce Magus war. However, 25 years after the fact, strife bubbles once again. Unanswered questions from the previous conflict abound, with dark forces on the move. One family finds itself at the center of the intrigue. An ailing mother and her seven children must navigate the trials that await them, while clinging to each other as they never have before... Download Link (Apply .ups file to clean FE8U Rom) 7 Siblings COMPLETE Download Current Version: 1.5 *Note that saves from version 1.1 and earlier will not be compatible with version 1.2 of the game and beyond* Discord Server Link Seven Siblings Discord Screenshots Core Features/General Notes 7 Siblings is a complete FE8U romhack with a fully custom campaign and story made by WarPath with support from the FEU community. Some of its key features: - The game features 29 chapters: a prologue, 20 numbered chapters, an endgame, and 7 Gaiden chapters sprinkled in between. All Gaidens are unlocked automatically and are labeled as such due to being side stories from the main action in some form. - The large majority of game graphics have been overhauled, from the title menu to all in-game menus to character portraits and class animations. Additionally, nearly all music has been overhauled from vanilla FE8. Shoutout to the community for helping make this possible. - The game features an easy mode, a normal mode, and a hard mode, with the only substantial changes between modes being enemy strength. Hard mode is what the hack was primarily designed around and would be recommended for most romhack veterans. Normal and easy are just somewhat nerfed versions of this mode and have received less testing. - The hack also features Classic (defeated units are gone permanently) and Casual (defeated units return in the next chapter) modes which are selected after selecting difficulty. The game is balanced with Classic and permadeath in mind, but Casual is there for anyone who doesn't want the stress of permadeath. You should be fine letting a fair number of units die on Classic, although this game is definitely not designed for a true Ironman run from a blind player, especially on the highest difficulty. - Arianna, Scott, and Nancy are global GameOver units. Other units may be GameOver units in their joining chapters or a subsequent chapter in which they are force deployed. Arianna has access to the Supply starting in Ch. 2. - Support Viewer and Sound Room are 100% unlocked from the start. The Link Arena is disabled because it was pretty broken and I didn't care to put the time in to fix it. - Supports are functional in terms of gameplay, but there are no conversations. I may write them eventually, and I may not. Depends on how I feel. - It's recommended that if you are playing this hack on emulator, that you use the mGBA emulator if it is available to you on your platform. This hack was primarily tested using mGBA. A bit of testing was done using real hardware as well, and in that limited sample size, the game seemed to have no problems running on real hardware. Please report bugs and give feedback either here, on the FEU thread, or on the Discord.
  2. Download (You'll also need the Lex Talionis engine to run it. Download that here: https://gitlab.com/rainlash/lt-maker/-/jobs/artifacts/release/download?job=build_engine then stick the lion_throne.ltproj file found above in the folder with the other .ltproj files and start the engine!) A fully custom and open-source Fire Emblem fangame https://gitlab.com/rainlash/lt-maker Discord server for the Lex Talionis engine: https://discord.gg/dC6VWGh4sw Summary The Lion Throne has 11 chapters of innovative objectives, custom classes, a fully functioning custom skill system with activated skills, a Tellius-style base menu, area-of-effect spells, an actual difficulty curve, Xbox 360 controller support, and much more! Journey with Ophie, Prim and the rest of the Resistance as they attempt to restore the rightful heir of the Lion Throne to her place. Their fate is in your hands. Both the engine and the game (while essentially complete) are still in Alpha, so you may encounter bugs. I am only one man and cannot catch 'em all. Tread carefully! If you do encounter any bugs, please send me a PM or place a comment here describing the events that led up to the bug, so I may squash it as soon as possible. The file Saves/debug.log.1 will have the most recent error in it. Please send that as well if you can. Thank you!
  3. feu thread: https://feuniverse.us/t/fe8-complete-iron-emblem-v1-0-full-length/12539 Iron emblem is a hack designed with the only playstyle bieng ironman (never resetting to restart a chapter, and the run being completely over when you have a game over). Every single unit is a generic, complete with covered eyes and identical mugs, and even no real names! They are all just as strong as the enemies, and nothing more, so using them may be a bit more difficult than the usual FE unit fare. The gameplay and setup of the hack were very inspired by my experiences with fe1/11. The challenge, then, is making your way through all 21 chapters successfully while getting invested in this group of nobodies trying to make their way through a cruel and harsh world of bloodshed and war. I hope you enjoy! Story: The story is a simple tale of a small group of soldiers from the southern country of Boreal winning minor victories in their war with Austral, and the events that transpire on their quest to help the war effort. Along the way, they grow in numbers, strength, and acclaim, eventually performing one last act of heroism. Features: Units send their items to the convoy upon death 50 total units obtainable throughout the game 20 chapters and 1 gaiden to play All the usual Quality of Life improvements (Health Bars, DangerRadius, Growths Display, etc.) A couple new classes Please note before downloading that this game has a special function where if you reset a map after losing/in the middle of playing, the game will automatically gameover next time you try to restart it. This is to encourage the player to play in an ironman way. There are also 2 versions, one with custom menus by WarPath, and one with vanilla FE8 menus. Please pick whichever version you think may suit you better. TO CLARIFY: YOU CAN SUSPEND AND RESUME, OR RESTART CHAPTER IF YOUR LAST SAVE WAS IN PREPARATIONS. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BEAT THE GAME IN ONE SITTING OR USE SAVESTATES. Download: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lf45d1xrqvu4ith/AABoRiYpH3lFzGmkvoet-Gk1a?dl=0 Screenshots Please check the guide!
  4. A year or two ago, I played [Fire Memeblem 0, by SD9k. It's a meme edit of FE7 where every player unit has 0 in all of their bases, barring HP, which was set to 1. It's obviously and intentionally unfair, as FE7 was never designed to be played with such incompetent player units. But recently I thought to myself, what if it was? This hack is designed around the restrictions of extremely weak player units. Each of the 8 playable units in this hack has 1 base HP and 0 base everything else. To compensate for this, additional restrictions are in place. Everything is locked at 100% hit, and growths are fixed. Weapons have had to be slightly altered to fit in with this style. New stuff! - Ring System FE4's ring system is present in this hack, but the rings present all have explicit downsides, giving them more strategic use. All or Nothing could be exactly what you need to secure a kill, but it also renders the few existing methods of taking hits unviable. Ring bonuses also stack. - Refined Dancer Rings (note: no longer rings to avoid confusion) Thanks to the hack's short nature, you can use weaker versions of Filia's Might and Nini's Grace wherever they may help you, without fear of needing them later. These two mechanics work together to create statstacking in a form very similar to Fates. - Maps This hack consists of 5 relatively short maps, each with a unique look and song. Enjoy the game's gradual shift from puzzle to traditional FE as your options expand. Download here (apply the patch to a clean FE8U rom): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lz6jef1cr6pfqjp/AAAYTdfD6u0P3f-6hi1qonqCa?dl=0
  5. Welcome everyone to this small LP of mine! Some of might have seen my PME Thread (where you can also see all the changes) over on the Fates Subforum, and after finally getting all 16 of units, and some asking around, i decided to do a small LP! It won't be a detailed one, but i will try to post pics of my general strategy and of interesting events happening! For this post, i have only a small introduction. I went and edited my units right after the route split. Our Main Character, the Man himself, Kaga! Somehow, in his way to infiltrate IS' games, he became... a fish dragon? What's interesting about this unit is that it has access to 1-5 range attacks and heal, but can't double attack or Attack stance. Can still pair up, though! Although the Bonuses are abysmal, really. Following Kaga in his adventures, his loyal servant disguised herself as a lord! She knows that they've got trouble with how her lord became a fish and all, hence she is going all out with her magical arsenal! This is the start of a chaotic adventure, and i hope as much fun as i will have, you all will be entertained as well! 6. Lets begin by explain what this Lets play will be. First it is a succession game where one player will play through 2 chapters pass, then pass on the save to the next player, and do a writeup on their experience. Additionally it is an ironman run, where losing a unit doesn't warrant a reset. Finally we will be playing Fire Emblem 6: The Binding Blade on Hard Mode, as it was tied with FE7 on the old poll, and a brand new LP of FE7 was just posted, and I wouldn't want to step on any toes. Now let me set down the ground rules of the run: 1. Those who wish to play must inform me either by messaging me, or responding in this forum (or the old forum post about this but the other two options are preferred). As people inform me of their interest they will be added to a list of players, which will be the order of play. 2. Each player will play through 2 chapters and have 1 week to complete them before passing the save on. I will start playing through the first 2 chapters today and pass it on next Wednesday. For precision regarding time zones consider Wednesday to be 6:00 pm PST. Each subsequent player will have to complete their chapters and pass the save before the Wednesday following the Wednesday they were scheduled to start playing. 3. Player have until the Wednesday after they passed on the save to complete a writeup of their experience with the game. 4. Assuming the system consistently lets me update the opening post, each Wednesday I will list the player that still has writing time, the player scheduled to play their chapter that week, the player scheduled to play next week (I will refer to this as The Heir), and the player scheduled to play the week after (I will refer to this as The Spare). If the system does not I will post a reply on the forum instead. 5. Once every player has had a chance to play, we will cycle back through players. If a new player shows interest in joining after we have cycled back they will be scheduled as The Spare on the next Wednesday's schedule. 6. When players pass on the save file they will do so by either posting it publicly on this forum with the next player's name using the @ symbol to inform them, or passing it onto me so that I can post it publicly, either by updating this post, or making a new response (This way those watching at home can join in by playing along if they wanted to, and it allows me to archive old saves so that if anything goes wrong we have backup saves) 7. If anyone anticipates a schedule conflict please inform me so that I can update the schedule of players. 8. Each player will agree that the only time they will reset is when they get a game over, and they will not intentionally try to get a game over. No penalty will be applied for resets, but it is on your honor to follow the spirit of this rule, and remember deaths will cause the use of interesting units, and be more interesting to those reading this. 9. Players will not intentionally try to sabotage the playthrough. Older saves will be stored and distributed if people believe someone has tried to intentionally sabotage the run. With that out of the way I will end things off with some small suggestion for the writing portion of this Let's Play. These aren't official rules because I would much rather have player join in the fun, than have us all follow a consistent style. First it was suggested by @Alastor15243 when I first brought this idea up that each writeup be the journal/chronicle of the various tacticians that have taken over command (reminiscent of the classic Dwarf Fortress Succession game called Boatmurdered), and that is the style of writing I will use, and suggest other players do so as well. Second is to have their writeup be a screenshot LP. As an additional warning, the save was started on the most recent translation patch (https://forums.serenesforest.net/index.php?/topic/41095-fe6-localization-patch-v10-seriously-we-did-something/) which does not play well with older translation patches (as Garlyle reported, and I have confirmed using an older translation patch I had at hand) Completed Save: Fire Emblem - The Binding Blade.sav 8. Felt like playing Conquest again, so I swapped all my FEH time over to Conquest time. There's not much to talk about in the FEH sub-forum if I don't, you know, actually play the game, so I figured I'd get screenshots working on my 3DS (via Luma3DS, so nothing official), and post a fairly casual playthrough of the game over here. Since it's a fairly casual playthrough, my focus would be more on the planning phase of the game rather than the execution. That is, I'll talk a bit about why I pick certain units and my reasoning behind them rather than focusing on how I spent 50 turns plinking a bowman on a fort tile or whatever. Table of Contents: 1, Pre-run Planning + Some Prologue Chapters 2, Chapter 3: Master Tactician Edition 3, Chapter 4 4, Chapter 5 5, Chapter 6: Operation Hug-box 6, Intermission, Mission Statement, and Math 7, Chapter 7 8, Chapter 8: Enter, Odin Dark 9, Paralogue 1 10, Chapter 9 11, Chapter 10: Camilla.exe 12, Invasion 1: Operation Nepotism 13, Chapter 11 14, Chapter 12: Everything Goes Better Than Expected 15, Chapter 13 16, Chapter 14 17, Chapter 15 18, Chapter 16: Crashes.jpg 19, Intermission II: Team Level & Stats 20, Chapter 17 21, Invasion 2 22, Chapter 18 23, Chapter 19 24, Chapter 20 25, Chapter 21 26, Chapter 22 27, Chapter 23 28, Chapter 24 29, Chapter 25 30, Chapter 26 31, Chapter 27 & Night Breaks Through: You Should Probably Read This Chapter First if You Want to Have a Relaxed Game of Conquest. Pre-run Planning: Ah, character creation. If you don't spend 2 hours on this step, you're doing it wrong. Gender is obviously the first choice you make, and a very important one. Due to level and availability related reasons, Jakob and Felicia are more or less the two most broken units in Conquest. Camilla comes close, coming in at 10 levels ahead of everyone else and staying ahead forever due to a low internal level, but her marginally worse availability and slower skill access means that, while she might well be the stronger, better unit compared to Jakob and Felicia, she's less broken from a overall perspective. Being female means you get Jakob, who takes less to get going and ends up with a bit more bulk at the end. On the other hand, it also means that you can't pass Samurai to any females (Vantage and L&D in the same class tree is fair and balanced) . So no Vantage L&D Savage Blow Camilla or any such nonsense. Being male would've gotten Felicia, who needs to grind tomes to get her offenses going, but ends up a tad better than Jakob if you're min-maxing her. But you do have to min-max her, whereas Jakob is pretty good even if you left him more or less alone. You also don't get to pass on Samurai to any males, but Kaze and Odin both already have access to it, so males don't care nearly as much. Pity you can't do things like marry Odin to Nyx to give her Samurai. Edit: You totally can, my memory is just shit. I picked female because black hair & white flower is optimal, obviously. Boons and Banes actually don't matter too much, because the Avatar starts with such nice growths already, having 45/30/45 Str/Mag/Spd and 35/25 Def/Res, so I went the lazy option of taking Unlucky because she has 25% luck growth even with a bane, and then taking Strong to counteract the minor penalty to her offensive stat. As a small note before starting the run, the run will be focused on testing whether or not Vantage L&D is as broken as I expect it to be, which means both testing it on Jakob (who gets the set with a 1-2 range weapon around chapter 10 if you rush straight for it), and also testing Kaze and Odin with the set, both of whom get it far later. Prologue Stuff: A very nice first level up, considering Corrin's job for the near future is going to be face-tanking everything for ages. (Lunatic is secretly extremely nice about level up screenshots, since even if I had to restart a chapter I don't have to take the level up screenshots again, since they'll be the same unless I class change.) Followed by a safe and secure end turn on a heal tile. Start of turn 2 spacing. Everyone moved as left as practical in order to try and make sure the AI doesn't end up in a vertical conga line that might delay things to the point where Kaze starts murdering my team. The Samurai has a throwing sword, so Jakob is spaced to handle it (he easily doubles the samurai's sad, -5 spd ass) and Corrin & Gunter rip apart the axe guy, getting her a nice offensive level. Double checking spacing before murdering Rinkah. If I remember correctly Gunther smacked her first, then Corrin moved to her left to finish her. Left Jakob for last because I wanted to use his turn to finish Rinkah if Corrin missed. But she didn't, so I healed Corrin instead. Screens like this (The 'Jagen' hitting an early game boss) should be pretty familar to anyone who plays Lunatic difficulties. It's simply not worth the effort to try and feed anyone else the combat exp (although obviously you take the last hit if possible) and risk the game over screen or losing a ton of healing items. Also note how completely reliable Gunter's survival was, even if Kaze somehow lived through the turn--Forceful Partner + Lance means that Corrin ORKOs the bottom samurai without any chance of a counter, and Jakob + Gunter has a 90%+ chance to explode the top samurai. The kid gloves are still on. Emphasis on 'if possible' about taking the last hit. A Gunter crit blew Kaze's face off. And clearing the stragglers gives Corrin another nice offensive level. Would like some more Def/Res, but she'll only be face tanking for a few more chapters, so it doesn't matter much.
  9. The side quests seem to require a lot of careful planning and prior knowledge to do in any kind of efficient way. You have to know to get Asselio his x5 Steel Lances before fighting Slayde for the last time, you only have access to so many peddlers, there's always the threat of reinforcement spawning...and sometimes, you even have to farm a few items. So, let's say you were speed running this game; doing some sort of "100%" category, or whatever. What would be the best path? Far as I can tell (and this is assuming you're getting the relevant items from all places you visit)... So, what do you guys think?
  10. I had this idea when I was walking over to the library. Since there are many drafts of various FE games, why not have a conpetition of just one Touhou game? It'd be fun to handle, and since it's my favorite Touhou game, fun for me to observe. Without further ado: Rules: 1.
