  1. I was curious how Bond EXP worked so I've been experimenting in my last few battles. Hopefully this is new information, unlike my take on Supports a while back. I couldn't find anything online or in SF's wiki, for what that's worth. Anyway, Bond Levels are only gained from actions in the Player Phase, so any Enemy Phase strategies like tanking or vantage-wrath sweeping won't do anything. Everything other than using items grants Bond EXP, but the amount varies based on actions and here's how the EXP gained breaks down (check the attached images for examples). For this example I used Alear equipped with Sigurd, performed an action to see how much EXP was granted, then rewound and did another. In order of effectiveness, here's how much EXP each action granted. Unfortunately I don't have any raw numbers. Using an Engage attack (e.g. Override): fills 40~50% of the bar from Lv 18 to 19. A regular attack while Engaged (I assume this is what Celica's Echo counts as, but don't hold me to that). A regular attack while NOT Engaged. Some sort of assist action (I used Reposition here, but this would likely include Assign Decoy and Dragon Veins). While the amount of EXP granted only goes down a small amount between the first three, there's a larger gap between #3 and #4, though I probably should have tried using Reposition while Engaged. If anyone's tried using a staff while Engaged, I'd love to know which category that fits in on this scale too (i.e. does healing count as #4 and offensive staff use #2 or 3). The main story teaches you to use Engages and Engage Attacks freely and I clearly forgot about that, so... if you want to build up your Bond Levels faster, spam your Engage modes and attacks! I hope this was helpful, and I'd love to see what you come up with if anyone's inclined to do any experimentation of their own!
  2. small time streamer. I will post when I am live from this from here on. link is in my signature now. (Edit: changed title and edited this to make more sense. apologies if I'm slow)
  3. Rebecca is a very controversial unit, some people praise her and others despise her, I decided I wanted to experiment and start a new playthrough and report the events of every chapter alongside her level ups in screenshot manner. Let's start with her statistics which are the following: Base Stats Growth Rates Promotion Gains Level: 1 HP: 17 HP: 60% HP: +4 Strength: 4 Strength: 40% Strength: +3 Skill: 5 Skill: 50% Skill: +1 Speed: 6 Speed: 60% Speed: +1 Luck: 4 Luck: 50% Defense: 3 Defense: 15% Defense: +2 Resistance: 1 Resistance: 30% Resistance: +2 Constitution: 5 Constitution: +1 Movement: 5 Movement: +1 Promotion Averages 10/1 15/1 20/1 HP 26 29 32 Strength 10 12 14 Skill 10 13 15 Speed 12 15 18 Luck 8 11 13 Defense 6 7 7 Resistance 5 7 8 Alright, down below will be the progression of every chapter.
  4. Lowen is usually the cavalier that is left out if the player decides to use more than 1 cavalier as he focuses more on being a tank than being strong which since in FE7 most units can 1RKO when a unit doesn't it is usually called bad so these are Lowen's bases and growth rates: Level: 2 HP: 23 Str: 7 Skl: 5 Spd: 7 Lck: 3 Def: 7 Res: 0 Con: 10 Mov: 7 HP: 90% Str: 30% Skl: 30% Spd: 30% Lck: 50% Def: 40% Res: 30% So let me briefly talk about his stats. HP: He can actually cap this stat at 60 without use of an Angelic Robe. Str: His base is higher than Kent's but lowen than Sain's but both Kent's and Sain's growth is higher Skl: I'm not expecting much from this stat at all, he's going to be accurate when using swords but when I used silver lances in my last LP with him his hit was in the 70s and that is no good Spd: His base speed is equal to Kent's and higher than Sain's but he is going to end up pretty slow ind the end since his growth is super low Lck: His Luck is high for some reason this might make him look like a dodgetank but luck gives very small bonuses per point that it doesn't matter. Def: This is is best stat he is good at taking hits and his base is also very good. Res: His resistance stat is very big but his base means he won't be exactly very tanky. Con: His con of 10 seems amazing but once you remember he has low speed it won't mean he will exactly double a lot of enemies. Mov: He's a cavalier so he has 7 movement which will be pretty useful For his supports I'm planning on supporting him with Rebecca since Fire affinity is good, although Rebecca won't be the MVP of this LP I am going to use her this time. And I'm also going to support him maybe with Eliwood since to prevent the problems from last time, I will train Eliwood a bit. And I'm playing on Eliwood hard mode again without playing Lyn's mode but that won't really affect anyone but Sain. Anyway without furder ado, let's go!
  5. Imagine Grima's Expiration attack ignored Defence in Awakening like it does in SoV. What would happen? Why does it ignore Defence in SoV and not in Awakening - plot-wise, perhaps? This is just meant to be a little thought experiment. Nothing too serious.
  6. So I'm not a big fan of the idea of randomizing the recruitment order and giving independent teams to each player, so let's try something different. Basically, everyone randomizes their rom before the drafting phase, and each character is draftable exactly one time. Mention the classes when picking your units. Drafting: 1. This draft is for 5 players. 2. Roy, Marcus and Merlinus are free for all to use. 3. One undrafted Dancer / Bard is free to use for each player. 4. One unit will remain undrafted. 5. The game will be played on Normal Mode. Randomizer options: Note: if a stat rolls more than +/- 3, I'll reduce the change to 3, and suggest you do it too. I'll leave that optional to keep things simple, though. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories, and dig up items in the desert. 2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests. 3. Use of the Warp staff is allowed. 4. All Gaiden chapters are required to be visited. Chapter 20x (either route) does not count towards the total turncount up to 20 turns taken. 5. NPCs may do as they please without penalty. 6. The game must be played out to the True Ending. 7. Dancers / Bards may not dance for each other. 8. If you promote Roy, you are free to hack his auto-demotion after chapter 21x away. 9. Glitches caused by the randomizer may not be made use of. These include non-Roy Lords being able to seize and the possibility of moving units on tiles they cannot normally pass by using the drop command or a Warp/Rescue staff. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4-turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 2. Dancers / Bards dancing for each other has a 15-turn penalty, per chapter. Exceptions: 1. Undrafted Thieves may be used to obtain necessary promotion items.
