  2. Genealogy of Dain Thread Update Log 07/6/2021 - Thread created Prologue. 07/7/2021 - Updated with new characters PROLOGUE Hello, Like I mentioned in my intro thread I recently finished FE 4 and ran got a hack from a friend to give me a different experience with the game called Genealogy of Dain after some tutorials I got it to work. Just some information from what I got from the Hack thus far. Characters Trabant is the main character in generation one replacing Sigurd which I find very interesting. Just like in the main game he is Major Dain Blood ,but one major change he starts as a Lord Class. He has some interesting skills here with Pursuit , Nihil and Critical. Now we introduce the others here. First off we have Coruta who is to me is Noish replacement I could be wrong here. He has no blood and comes with Sun Sword , Critical and Charge and B Ranks in Sword and lances. Next up we have Papillio our next rep in the Cain and Abel Archtypes here. Unlike Coruta he has a different set of skills with Wraith , Pursuit and Nihil good skills to pass down to whoever the units are replacing the children this game. Lastly our Arden replace we have Maikov our castle defender aka the lag of the group as I like to call it. Having Pavish early game can be quite the boon here with Vantage as well. He has a new skill called Darkness Sword which has a chance of doubling or tripling damage dealt or decreasing damage taken by 20 flat damage I assume here. I'm going in blind with these so sorry for the errors. After a few turns and seeing Tiltyu getting kidnapped by none other than. Claud Duh duh duh! This is getting interesting that the House of Blaggi is invading the house of Tordo. I'm curious on who is gona by Tiltyu sister will be if they follow the same story about Edeen and Brigid. After that turn we see two new allies join us. Its Az..I mean Finn and Prince Kurth looking to join the fray lets look at their stats. Finn is back and his stats look interesting he is a person of the House of Noba and carries Minor Noba blood he has moon blade added to his skill kit as well. Next is Prince Kurth who comes to us as a Prince and has minor Narga blood on him. Having Critcal and a new skill holy Sword from what I seen from him in combat it looks to proc the various 3 sword techs I seen sun sword proc from it. After the next turn we have our 3 allies from the house of Fala Arvis , Linoan and Azel lets review their stats. Arvis comes with Full Fala Blood and is married to Lionan who has minor Dain blood and lastly Azel gets the finn treatment they gave him no holy blood at all and from what I seen he is the apprentice to arvis which I can't wait to see what happens to him in generation two but we shall see. Summary What I plan to do is to take screenshots of the characters and each post will deal with one chapter I'm currently gonna take screenshots of the characters only and my progress here. I'm looking forward to doing this playthrough. Disclaimer I will be using a action replay code to playthrough the game to see max stats just a heads up. If you have a better way to increase the size of the screenshots from Zsnes I would gladly take any advice. Also due to the rules of the forum asking for the hack and link for it is not allowed.
  3. Not only did She abandoned him when he was just a Newborn , leaving him under Shannan's Care (he was just a kid back then) , disobeying Sigurd's Words, when he didn't even know how to take care of himself at that age just because she was so thirsty about Sigurd's Jeigan conqueror of castles Dick and she couldn't wait anymore for him, ditching Seliph like shit and forgetting all about of him just because her lust for Sigurd, not only that - But She never tried to Seek after him when is heavily implied that at some point she Learned about his marriage with Sigurd even tho she never regained back her memories She DID know about having another Son but she never tried to seek after him, Leaving Seliph Dread Alone under Oifey and Shannan's care with 0 Inherited Money from her or even Good Stats, heck, he wasn't even a Pure Blood Naga. The only time than Deirdre acted like a mother to Seliph was in the After Life being a Ghost, but that probably was Seliph Daydreaming about his parents and how he avenged them after all and fulfilled Sigurd's Dreams Deirdre got what she deserved for being such a bad mother and this is the root of Sigurd's tragedy and eventually Demise.
  4. Salutations! A while ago I found the amazing translations, made by Leif of Leonster Translations, of the Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War Suzuki Novelization, and began making these little fan-made audio dramas by myself. These audio dramas are voiced entirely by me, and while I am an amateur (though it is my goal to improve and become a proper voice actor one day), I intend to keep making more of these videos. Reading this novelization made me super interested in Jugdral lore, and I am truly thankful to Leif of Leonster Translations for their work. I hope you may find enjoyment in these audio dramas, and hopefully, it too could get more people interested in Genealogy of the Holy War. I intend to update this topic every time I make a new audio drama related to the Genealogy of the Holy War Novelization, so be on the lookout for future parts, though I make no promises as to when! If, instead, you would like to read the translation of the novelization yourself, here's the link for Leif of Leonster Translations: https://four-loose-screws.tumblr.com/post/158382266965/fire-emblem-novel-translations
  5. Hey, all! I'm currently hacking FE4, and I had a few questions that I wanted to see if anyone can answer. I have pored over the threads containing all the tools and info from Lamia and others (such as this thread here: https://forums.serenesforest.net/index.php?/topic/39603-lamias-fe4-stuff/#comments ) and there's been a lot of useful information! However, I do have some specific issues that I haven't been able to find answers to yet. If anyone has the time and know-how, I was wondering if you could give me some advice? 🙂 1. Using the Broken weapon slots to implement new weapons. Lamia included a broken weapon editor and indicated that it can be used to consolidate broken weapons in order to free space in the item list. I tried doing so by having each of the weapon ranks refer to the A rank broken weapon. This causes the game to always crash when a battle is initiated. Any idea on how I should be doing this? 2. D rank patch The sword skill patch works just fine with the Project Naga translation, but the D rank patch does not (regardless of whether there's any other patches other than Naga on top of it.) Has anyone played around with this and found a way to make it work? It just crashes my game when used, similar to the broken weapon issue. (And yeah, I did make sure that the area it specified in the readme was blank before patching, and it was without me having to do anything, so that's not the issue. Right now, the only thing I can think of would be to apply the patch to a clean rom, and THEN put project Naga on top of that and painstakingly implement all the other changes I've done on top of that. But, eh... I'd rather not.) 3. Editing enemy Stats, skills, etc. I can't find any way to edit enemy data AT ALL besides the enemy editor modules, which really only allow you to change their class and inventories. How have others gone about this? Hex? 4. Text editing I haven't experimented with Lamia's tools yet on this front, so I'll try that first. But in the meantime, is there any specific advice people could offer for text editing in FE4? Thanks so much! EDIT: 5. Also, being able to edit max stats for classes would be just swell! kthxbye!
  6. Hello, I recently played Fire Emblem 4 for the first time since a friend recommended it to me. So in chapter 6, I accidentally gave Julia the Aura tome since I didn't know Nosferatu was the better choice of the two. So I go through the remaining chapters and Julia gets doubled easy since Aura weighs a lot. Then in chapter 8 the shop keeper has a lightening tome, so I give it to Julia and she starts to do very well now, since the tome is lighter. However when I started chapter 9, the lightening tome was gone from her inventory and I couldn't find it anywhere. She still had the Aura tome and the Mend staff she got from Lana. So I was wondering was that a glitch or something? No other character has lost their weapon in the following chapters, not including the weapon transfer from gen 1 to gen 2. I just want to know if that was supposed to happen or was that a glitch?
  7. Anyone know where I might find map sprite rips from Fire Emblem 4? Can't seem to find them anywhere if anyone has taken the time to rip them.
  8. its my first time playing fe4, I don't want to mess up to bad. I already have an idea of what to give each child like giving seliph a silver sword, paragon ring, and leg ring , but I'm having trouble deciding for others like leif my parings: lex/ayra midir/edain lewyn/erinys azel/tailtiu beowolf/lachesis dew/brigid claud/silvia (maybe) not the most original but I don't want to get raped in the second generation
  9. I'm looking for someone who has successfully patched FE4 with the Project Naga translation patch on an android phone to give me a step by step walkthrough on how to do so, because I've had no luck trying to do so myself, nor have I found anyone who has done so that went into great detail of how they did so. I have RAR, Snes9x EX+, a working FE4 (Gharnef) rom, and the Project Naga patch all download on my phone.
  10. Is it possible to make 3rd tier classes for Fire Emblem 4? If so how? I thought it could work well since levels don't reset in FE4 so the issue of having to gain extra exp in shorter games wouldn't be an issue it could work something like one of these: 1 to 2: Lv10, 2 to 3: Lv20 1 to 2: Lv15, 2 to 3: Lv25 1 to 2: Lv20, 2 to 3: Lv30 if anyone has any info at all on this please inform me
  11. And people still say the one RN system makes the game more difficult for the player...
  12. It came to my attention that the Fire Emblem 4 manual has not been uploaded online.. so I decided to scan it and upload it for you guys. PDF Raw TIF Images There's some pretty cool artwork at the end. Also, I'm very poor at Japanese (can only read Hiragana, and some Katakana and very little Kanji) so that would be cool if someone could translate the thing. edit: of course just realized I missed a page... one minute while I fix this. Should be all good now!
  13. The Frozen Lord Glitch has happened in my playthrough. I had no idea that this existed. I guess I will have to restart the chapter... Oh well, such is life. I just wanted to upload this image that I find really funny. You can see that half of Seliph's sprite is inside the map and the other half cannot be seen on the screen. I cannot even select him since he is not in a map tile. This happened because I saved during the chapter and then got back, hoping that it would be fixed. The cursor does not reset to Seliph at the start of each Player Phase when this glitch happens, it instead appears at the top-left corner of the map. Turns out the game really thinks he is there.
  14. I made a remix to the OST version of Dance in the Sky (aka Silesia music). It always bothered me they omitted the sleigh bells. http://www.mediafire.com/file/ljln0o2kiguqxw0/dancing_in_the_sky.mp3 dancing in the sky.mp3
  15. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fovxo6nzfv58rmm/Fire%20Emblem%204%20Divine%20Crusade%20V%200.2.ips?dl=0 Hi, this is my first project, so I'm not acknowledgeable about some things (like how to place this into a patch format, or where should I post the edited ROM after I'm finished with it), so I hope you can help me by keeping me informed of things I should be aware off. Anyway, moving along, I'm naming this project, the Divine Crusade balance project. It could be changed in the future, but I like the sound of it, so most likely it will stay like this. The goal of this project, is to rebalance FE4 so that playable characters that were too powerfull or too weak are balanced by nerfing/buffing them respectively. I'm also changing enemies so they fit with those changes. Right now, I have already done some changes to the game via the FE4 editor and the Nightmare modules tools. However I have no idea how I'm supposed to post the file here, since I have no idea if it should be in patch format or if it can be posted as a file instead. I also have no idea on how to convert the changes I've made into a patch, so I hope you could help me with that. Turns out it might have been simpler than I tought. Anyway, I've tried to create a patch and used a unheadered file when asked for the unmodified file. It's compatible with translations (as long as they are separate and named the same name as the SFC file) So if you want a translation of the game, you will have to do like I did and put it in the folder of the game as a separate file rather than patch over the already patched game. Anyway, this is my first version of the change. So I guess I will call it Divine Crusader 0.01. Guess I didn't need that 3 days of time after all to do this. I call this the Divine Crusade v.0.2. It really is just me testing the waters with the edit and nightmare tools. So don't expect it to be anything great, most likely it will have some mistakes that I have forgot to correct, but for now give it a try or don't and wait for me to do some extra touches in the future. It works with the unheadered version. Translations are also compatible, the translations patches should be named the same as the game file so that both patches work together. I will go on ahead and state some of the changes: -Holy blood growths were nerfed. Major Blood accumulated growths are 70%, while minor blood is 35%. Holy Blood used to be 100% and 50% respectively. - Changed Sigurd's,Azel's, Claud's,Tyltiu's and other people's starting classes. Sigurd is a Lord (not Knight Lord), Azel is a Dark Mage, Tiltyu is a Mage and Claud is a Bishop. Azel's and Tyltiu's promotions remain unchanged. - Changed character's natural growths. If there are any questions, please go ahead and post in this topic.

  20. Below I have compiled a list of almost all the etymologies of the person/place/weapon names that are in Genealogy of the Holy War. I would like to point out that I came up with the majority of these etymologies myself but I did not shy away from checking my findings with other sources such as the two Fire Emblem Wikis and some Serenes Forest posts as well. With that out of the way I would like to point out how well researched and inspired this, and by extension all other Fire Emblem games, are in terms of the names used for people/places/objects. Genealogy of the Holy War seems to draw extensively from Norse and Celtic/Irish mythology, and the use of some lesser known names is even more astounding. As a note, the list is not totally complete and it would be great if some of you well informed fans can fill in some of the remaining blanks for the names I have listed. 21. I'm playing through chapter 2 of Fe4 and I've tried about three times (not a lot, I know) to defeat all the Heirhein soldiers around Lachesis' castle before they kill Yves. I've failed each time. I know you can get the Knight Ring from her at the end if all three knights are still alive, but I'm not sure how I can keep that one from dying! It looks like a great item, but is it worth it? I'm tempted to reset in any event, but still.
  22. Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I'm new to the forums, but I figured this would be a great place to ask this. I'm curious as to whether or not you can use Nightmare 2 to change what mothers the child units have. Specifically, I'm wondering if Sety could be Adean's son and Lester become Furry's son. I know there are modules to change siblings, but I can't seem to find anything explicitly stating mothers being changed. And yes, I know some people might consider this sacrilege and I fully expect any relevant events to be bugged out or even completely broken, but I'd like to see if it's possible.
  23. I'm playing through FE4 (Project Naga translation), and I'm currently on chapter 5. For some reason about half way through the chapter my game suddenly stopped showing the movement grid and attack range for all characters. I have no idea what caused this and it's quite a big hindrance to the gameplay. Anyone know what caused this and how to fix it? (Gif attached is an example of the glitch.)
