  1. This game’s content rating is E for everyone. Please tell me your thoughts of the hack and what you think needs changing or what changes you appreciated or didn’t. This is basically complete I don't really know what else to do with it other then improve the graphics and fix bugs. This is a gameplay hack of FE8 that includes some of my ideas from my thread: The reason I give bosses more than one weapon sometimes is because the weapon durability is low. High defense or resistance units have more HP to compensate for 30 being the def and res cap. All three difficulties work so you can choose whichever you want, but I recommend starting with the Normal difficulty. The changes are found in the Revision 7 download. Things to know: The Sound Room is already 100% unlocked. Poison does 5-15 DMG. AS to double is 3. Growth rates can be displayed in game by pressing Select on the unit stats screen. Support bonuses that gave +5 give +2. Weapon Triangle now give 10+ or - hit instead of 15+ or - You can hold L to disable animations. In CH 5x all allies start with the Easy Mode weapons I strongly recommend you keep them until CH9 if you play difficult mode just in case but if you if you don't want to play easy mode drop them. There are OP Easy Mode weapons available in the preparation screen armory for free, be sure to drop them when you don't want to play easy mode anymore. Mansel is supposed to heal with the Fortify I don't know why he doesn't. You can go into the Guide menu command for information on how to use the Sus/Bck command if you don't know how to use it.   3. Sadly no pictures because quality reasons Well, I've encountered a total of 3 hackers on online matches. These were the hacks they did: 1.) Changing everyone's Mov to 20. I don't even think it is possible to get over 11, let alone 20! The thing that really made me surrender was the warp skill that EVERYONE had. It basically made it so they could move wherever they wanted in a short amount of time. They also had replicate but that's different. 2.) Takumi with Point Blank. I don't know if it is DLC in Japan but I know it is impossible to get in America at the moment. 3.) All Stats at 70 without pairing or skills. Most of the skills that their units had were the skills that can be activated or aren't active at the start of the game. These type of units are basically invisible. It is possible to get a hit or two on them but that is mainly it. Post some of the hackers you have encountered and/or the ones to look out for. Thankfully there is no punishment in online battles but it is very annoying to see someone just hack there way through battles. Here's some pictures of Fates Hackers that I found on the internet.   4. I hope this is the right place to post this, I'm looking to probe the minds of those more familiar with this kind of thing. This is all on Android. 5 years ago give or take I emulated nearly all of the available SNES FE4 Binary hacks and some of the FE5 patches too. I just slapped them on my crappy phone pre-patched on PC and they worked like a charm on whatever dingy little SNES emu I was using (Super Retro 16 I think). More recently I've been playing some recently released GBA rom hacks but I'm basically done with those, and I wanted to play a binary FE4 hack like the old days. Thats when the issue arose; not a single SNES emulator on android including whats left of SR16 can find this patched FE4 rom in ANY directory. Ive tried Snes9x EX+ and Retroarch but to no avail. This is so vexing because my newer, more powerful phone appears to be incapable of something my economy phone from years ago didnt even bat an eye at; reading IPS patched SFC roms. Maybe I'm missing something? Has anyone here played a SNES/SFC Fire Emblem rom hack on their phone in the last couple years? If so what emulator did you use to do it? Any help at all would be appreciated, thanks 😁
  5. ~~~~~~Narcian and the Mirror Chamber (Demo)~~~~~~ (Dropbox link at the end) Greetings dear friends! (You can skip the introduction by scrolling down!) My name is Max. I first heard about these Rom-hacks through a Let's Play. (*cough* *cough* Mangs: Sacred Chairs) I really enjoyed it, so I decided to create my own one. Apperently I've found FeBuilderGBA and downloaded it. I had no idea what I was getting in to... First, FeBuilder is a extreme massiv programm at first glance Second, I had no ideas where to start... So I closed the programm and left it for a year. BUT, now I returned with more power and knowledge about hacking and I started my own hack for REAL! It was quite simple for the first chapter, but, the more I got into it, the more problems accured. How to insert music, create special and unique events and so on. I made like around 500 safety copies, cause I always messed something up. But I didn't give up and now I have my very own first 4 chapters. There are still many, many things to change and improve, but whatever! The only thing I couldn't fix was the world map. You'll see by yourself what happened. Still I hope, that when you are really gonna playing my hack, you have much fun and most importantly(!) give me some feedback what I should change/improve! 😉 ~~~~~~Information about the Hack~~~~~~ Creators: Alexandra & Max Title: Narcian and the Mirror Chamber Chapters: Ch0-Ch3 (cause it's just a demo) Gameplay: The first chapters are pretty basic, but chapter 3 got some special objective.   6. So I’ve got two quality of life ups that I’m attempting to mix and match, so to speak, for my own personal use. Essentially, one has the circles skill system and class/sprite updates I would like to add to the other. Is there a resource or any tips I could use to facilitate the process. I understand if this is frowned upon in the community and no one wants to suggest anything, of course Edit: working with FEbuilder to frankenstein one into the other. The Concept of the hack is that the main character is kidnapped and enslaved by a group reminicent of the roman empire and has to raise a rebelion to free the people of this nation as well as regain connections with his culture, I intend to create two new classes: Slave Driver and Hunter (One uses a whip the other uses a rifle, trying to figure out how to add new weapons and classes in FE editor) one character is a religios figure, and a christ allegory (I'm sorry if this offends anybody, I just like the idea of a character who explores the concept of redemption and empathy in the face of adversity) The villain is a King class (I intended to import and modify Zepheils model) and his primary guard are Paladins and Heros and soldiers as I feel they represent the Roman Legion best, the main characters are mostly archers monks and barbarians as they represent the gaelic and celtic people subjigated by the romans (I'd like to make it clear that this is not historical fiction it merely uses historical peoples and cultures as a basis for it's setting, as many Fire Emblems do) I'm stronger as a writer than as a game designer or coder so i'm mainly here looking for help, hit me up if you're interested, what i have as far as stories and characters is down below, I'll continue to update, i'm currently experimenting with FEeditor, if anybody has any other suggestions I'm up for it

  14. So yes i have cfw and all that jazz. Im curious as to how I can put a specific model on a specific character despite class. Ive seen it done before but its never explained. An example would be Keeping Rinkahs original body on a promoted class shes in. Or keeping Camilla in her original outfit despite being an unmounted class. Or lets say, Giving Arete's body model to one of my characters. Any help would be great.
  15. So I was surfing the Romhacking.net forums a few days ago...and apparently, someone named "Cirosan" released this! https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3961/ That's right. Patch that puppy, and you'll always go through the Prologue on all difficulties! And if you want, you can use the version of it that also gets rid of Gaiden requirements. No more having to kill off your characters! You'll wanna be careful though; H5 Prologue is no picnic. The guy had to make some drastic changes to Prologue I and II just to make them possible. Giving Marth a Vulnerary at the start, making certain enemies drop Vulneraries, and even changing the class and equipment of some of those enemies...those are all things he did. And even then, the difficulty was still comparable to Lunatic Reverse on FE12... ... Course, on the other hand, Chapters 1-3 end up being a lot easier; to the point where my Marth was doubling the Chapter 1 pirates . But yeah, anyone else hear of those?
  16. Hello, everyone. Now that I'm finished doing Binding Blade's Vindication balance project, I'm now working on this one. I call it, Promoted Power Madness, unlike the other patch, this one isn't a balance patch, but rather a new way to enjoy this game. The concept is simple, all playable and enemy characters are already promoted from the get go (with the exception of Hector or Eliwood in their respective stories in order to avoid conflict with their obligatory promotion), the playable characters also get a boost to their growths and the overall lv cap is raised to 30, enemies get their stats changed as well, but to a lesser extent, so that it fits with the changes whitout making it easy or unreasonably hard.

A couple years ago, I began working on a hack in which Guinevere was implemented as a fully playable character and can be played as for whenever she is with Roy, (So really everywhere but the Western Isles) but to be fully content, I have to add boss conversations. Somehow, I managed to create a boss conversation between her and Narcian about a year ago, and I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do it again. Not having her talk to Zephiel upon initiating combat with him would leave a bad taste in my mouth. And yeah, I know it could be argued that Guinevere fighting against Bern more actively is wholly against her character, but my Guinevere is a bit different from the canon one. (: I have a good amount of experience with Event Assembler, Mappy, Zahlman's Song Editor (lol), Nightmare 2.0, and FEditor, but I'm not sure where to begin anymore. I've gotten event editing down to a science (again, aside from boss conversations) and I know how to edit the text WITHIN the pre-existing boss conversations (ex. I can make Lilina talk Legance's ear off...) I just don't know how to create new boss conversations anymore. I want to finish this project, if only for my own personal satisfaction, though I do plan on publishing it upon completion. So, to reiterate, I'm hoping to add new, unique, boss conversations, but can't remember how to do that. I didn't want to have to ask, but i've about given up on the project and don't want to let it die quite yet. If anyone knows how to insert a new boss conversation somewhere in FE6, that would be a tremendous help. Thanks sooo much! Any little bit of knowledge helps. (:
  18. I'm probably not going to get a computer for a while, and since I got GBA4IOS to work, I want to know how I can play GBA hacks in it. Preferably FE8 hacks. Most downloads have to be patched onto a normal file and I'm not sure how to do that.
  19. So I know theres a hack to change hair colours, classes, items, etc. but is there a hack to change corrins face to any of the other ones mid game? I want to change my avatars face but I don't want to restart my save file.

Wel, I will explain my point: I´m playing several FE 6/7/8 hacks, like reverse recuitments, FE8 Sir Serenes Edition, FE8 Darion´s mode and so on, and my problem is that I can´t promote trainees to their custom class, because the game forces to play and beat both routes in order to unlock them. Also, in hacks like FE 6/7 RR I can´t choose between modes, like ENM/EHM, I´m forced to play Lyn mode and then the other ones, or playing it on normal difficulty and I don´t know how to fix it, since I lack savefiles for those hacks. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks in advance.
  22. I know this might be weird to want but i would really like to change the character's names back to what they should have been. I also want to change the Dialog in the game to maybe a fan-translation because the english dialog is sooo SO cringy. I hated reading it so much. That is all really. Hello everyone! So, you might be wondering how this is supposed to work. Basically, I got tired of going to all the effort of choosing what hack I want to do next, so I'm gonna let you do the whole "picking" thing for me! You see that vote up there? Basically, people suggest stuff, I add it to the poll, and you can guys can vote for stuff you're interested in. I've added three choices up there to start us off, and you're probably only going to recognize one of them. All you have to do is vote. However, if you want to suggest something, it's a bit more complicated: SUGGESTION RULES SUGGESTIONS: 1: You don't have to be anyone or anything special. Just say you want a hack added to the poll, and I'll probably add it. BUT... 2: It would be VERY helpful if you were to provide a link. Some of the really old hacks can be kinda hard to find, even with google. 3: On that note, I, personally, would prefer to have some old or obscure hacks that most people don't know about in the poll. I'll do LPs of stuff people might not have seen before! 4: I reserve the right to deny hacks being allowed into the poll for pretty much any reason, like "too mainstream"(ex: Midnight Sun, everyone would vote for it because it's amazing and then we'd have 8 chapters of stuff we've already seen, just with my semi-witty comments). 5: I MIGHT have to make a new thread for a hack if it's too long. Typically, 8-10 chapters if where I'm gonna give it it's own thread, though it does depend on the length of individual chapters. That's kinda generous though, so don't expect this thread to move super-fast. I'll keep the updates coming out at a moderate pace, but hacks can remain in the list for a long time. 6: I will play hacks in pretty much ANY state of completion; complete, beta, alpha, "only one chapter complete V.00000001"...   24. What makes a great hack? I have recently gotten into play FE hacks and have come across some great ones as well as some that are very poor. So I wanted to get opinions on what makes a hack great. First off I want to express that it is hard to make a solid hack. Balancing characters, creating maps, and writing an immerse story line all take time and effort. However, this is a list of things that I have found to make a hack generally enjoyable. Balance/Difficulty I think most people would agree balance is very important. Nobody likes a game were everything you have is OP and its as simple as just moving your units forward to win. I think I prefer games to be a little more difficult, but at the same time I want to be able to outsmart the scenario not just abuse save states to progress. I think this is the hardest thing to get right in FE. There are so many things to consider, how many characters you have, how many enemy's in each level, xp, character growths, just to name a few. Maps For me this is extremely important. Maps are are canvas where everything is painted. the story, characters, everything relates to the map. Part of the reason Pixar movies are so successful are because the colorful interesting worlds they create. I also think they heavily influence the game play. Maps that are to wide open or too choke pointed often aren't fun to replay. If you cant tell already map flow makes it or breaks it for me. Another example of maps influencing game play are large maps. They are a double edged sword because something like Cog of Destiny in Fe7 is a pretty large map with a ton of enemy's, however its flows well because of the multiple ways the enemy's flow towards you. The flip side of that are large maps where you spend most of your time trekking your 11-13 units across a huge space, that kills the momentum of the level and makes them drag. Story I know for a lot of ppl this is extremely important. Although I appreciate good story telling, I generally do no follow the plot very closely. Characters For me I want the characters to feel different. This is another hard thing to sum up quickly, it is also something that is hard to execute. I guess this would be partially story and balance combined. I have to tip my cap to hackers that can make you invested in a character. Mark is a pirate you get in the Last Promise. He is my favorite character I have come across in a hack. He walks the fine line of being really good but not being OP. He also has a really cool black berserker "in battle" skin. Another reason I like him is because he was pretty clutch in some tight spots. These are the reasons I have found him to be a solid character, even though he doesn't have a ton of back story( that I know of) Mission variance This is something Midnight Sun had a ton of. I have to hand it to them, it was ambitious. They tried a number of different mission types. Some worked really well, others not so much. This is something that isn't priority 1, or 2 for me, but it is a nice change up. Other stuff I think some ppl think that because there hacking a FE game they have to give you 2 cavs and a prepromte at the beginning, or they need to include things that are staples in the game. I think it is a breath of fresh air when I play the hacks that don't do this. One of the major reasons I play hacks is to get away from from the rinse repeat formulas that are present in some of the FE games. so those are my thoughts. What does the hacking community think goes into a great hack?
