  1. So I've been experimenting with the FE8 native instruments map by Circleseverywhere, and there is no string ensemble in FE8. I want to change this, so how do I take an instrument, such as string ensemble 1, from FE7 and put it in FE8 so I can use it with the instrument map?
  2. Introduction Hopefully at this point you've been reading my other tutorials and are getting a good grasp on how the sound system works for the GBAFE games. If you haven't read them already, and don't know anything about the topics: Sappy Graphical User Interface (GUI) Explained Basic Voice Table Editing in Sappy Sample Sound Format Explained In this tutorial I'll teach you how to insert custom samples into your ROM. There are two main methods to this. One uses Sappy exclusively, and the other involves the use of several different programs, namely: Viena SoundFont Editor VGMTrans GBA Mus Riper Wavosaur this Frequency Calculator tool Full credit for this goes to gogojjtech, whose tutorial taught me an insane amount about this topic. I'm basically rewriting his tutorial. What can you do with custom samples? So much. You can make custom sound effects and a much greater depth of custom music. It's... kind of empowering to be able to do that. So let's get started. 4/9/17: Photobucket is holding all my images hostage so please bear with me while I find a more permanent image hoster.
  3. So I just got a 12 hole Ocarina modeled after the Ocarina of Time and am learning how to play it. After some digging around I found this site which has good tabs for various songs not just from the Zelda series but from other games as well. Currently looking for tabs for some Fire Emblem music. Feel free to post tabs here. http://tabs-ocarina.com/ocarina-tab-list
