  1. This has been a long time coming, but we should have a central hub for tourney results, and suggestions etc. Previous Tournaments Return of Serenes Forest Smash - Winner IceSage, so far the only 32 man Serenes Tourney Joined by Fate - Winner Dotty Radiant Confrontation - Winner IceSage Nerf Me To the Moon Wii U - Winner IceSage Nerf Me To the Moon 3DS - Winner Aura Wolf Thracia77Swiss (Swiss styled tourney with a top 6 finale) - Winner Knife Previous Tournaments that stray from the Norm The King of Dankness (Ganondorf Tournament) - Winner Aura Wolf In Progress Tournaments Draft Crews Round Robin Azure Blue World Suggestions Reverse Main Format - Suggested by Jiac & Euklyd. Current Ruleset we are using for main tournaments. Ruleset 3 Stock 8 Minutes Double Elimination. No Customs (barring the small Mii rule at the bottom) Starter Stages Final Destination Battlefield Smashville Town & City Lylat Cruise Counterpick Stages Dreamland 64 Duck Hunt Omega Stages* *In the banning phase, banning Final Destination bans Omegas as well. But as a starter stage, Omega's cannot be chosen regularly SET PROCEDURE Players select characters, tell each other your character of choice -Dishonesty will not be tolerated- if a player wishes, they may opt for a blind pick, in which both players secretly inform a neutral third party of their selection, and that person announces both at the same time First stage is selected according to stage striking. Game is played Counterpicking procedure takes place: Game winner bans 1 stage. This ban is in effect for the following game ONLY. Game loser picks stage from among legal stages. Players/teams may not pick ANY stage they have won on in the set previously except by agreement of the opponent (Stage Clause, also known as Modified Dave's Stupid Rule). Winning player change characters. Losing player may change characters. Next game is played. STAGE STRIKING: Use Game & Watch Hammer (Both players pick G&W and do his side b for the higher number) or flip a coin on Discord. Winner strikes the first stage. Loser then strikes the next two stages. Winner strikes the last one effectively choosing the first stage they play on. (1-2-1) Daves Stupid Rule You may not counterpick to a stage you have won on in the set unless your opponent agrees to it. Gentlemans Rule If you and your opponent agree to it, you may play a nonlegal stage (I.E Midgar,Gamer, etc) or a stage won on by the current player picking (It negates Daves Stupid Rule) Mii's You may make a Mii for tourney play if you so wish, but you can only setup one of each type and you can't switch their movesets after you lock them in. Replays You are to send replays to me (NNID is Jedisupersonic), each match of your sets, no exceptions, however if you do miss replays you won't be penalized, I'll just be disappointed.
  2. Hey I've decided to try this streaming craze, after the fun test stream with Megaman 9 (the test was Megaman 7 which is why its the thumb) i've decided to do more. https://www.twitch.tv/serenes_jedi Check this out in about 7 and a half hours hahaha.
  3. So lets do this, i'll be posting a 'question" or preferences of the week and we'll do it in 3x3 style so 9 favorites in no particular order. https://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php This site is useful for making them. Also the various weeks will likely be more general from here on such as "favorite anime characters, favorite games in a particular genre" etc This template is also workable Thanks @shezzy and @Chen for said templates. Also heres my FE related one. The next one will be done on the 6th. Weeks #1: Favorite FE characters #2: Favorite Game Characters #3: Favorite Animated characters
  4. It's no secret that I adore the Beat Em Up genre, from Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, River City Ransom, Scott Pilgrim, TMNT and a vast number of others, I freaking love beat em ups, and they served as a catalyst to my love of more 3D hack n slash games such as Dynasty Warriors, Modern Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May Cry. I think the format is the most important question I have for people, do you want indivdual videos or would you rather streams? My streams would be at most likely awkward times of the day, there isn't currently a planned start date this is in the planning phases The plan is to play tons of old school beat em ups generally, mostly from the NES, SNES, Genesis and Arcade. With some more modern ones thrown in with a few older Dynasty Warriors games via some of the games with invidual character stories, so it would't be super bloated. A lineup of games would look something like this (not this order or not all these might appear, but most of these are personal choices series mentioned I may only play 1 game in). Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (SNES) (and its successors on both the SNES and Genesis) The Golden Axe Series Final Fight Series Streets of Rage Series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all of them Both Sailor Moon beat em ups Captain America and the Avengers Maximum Carnage (Spiderman) The Death and Return of Superman X-Men Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure Dragon Ball GT: Transformation Splatterhouse Alien Storm Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game Fight'n'Rage River City Ransom and the other Kunio Kun games Double Dragon Hook (Arcade) Battletoads in Battlemaniacs & the Arcade game Double Dragon & Battletoads Metamorphic Force Captain Commando Sengoku Zombie Revenge Spiderman Shattered Dimensions The Bouncer Knights of the Round The King of Dragons Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara Ninja Baseball Bat Man Battle Circuit Fighting Force Night Slashers Unchosen "Warriors" games Many other possiblities. (And do note I most likely won't go over all of these but just showing my vast history) Note that any with an arcade version I can get people to play with me so that'll be even more fun
  5. I like my Data and numbers so lets do this all over again! We're gonna basically rank all 15 mainline games (Fates divided into 3 different games here), and see how the Serenes Forest opinions go for them all. The sheet is here https://goo.gl/forms/QYHTrw4FXS6KK98V2 If you haven't played an FE then don't answer that particular one, since I don't want skewed data. I'm not sure how long i'll have this run, but probably a week or so at least.
  6. @Lord Raven and @MrStardustRicon will be streaming the game alongside me Our various Twitch Channels are thus https://www.twitch.tv/lraven17 https://www.twitch.tv/mrstardustricon https://www.twitch.tv/serenes_jedi I'd advise using multitwitch for this one considering all of us will be in a call with each other. http://www.multitwitch.tv/ I will be using Rowan as my MC in this run as I used Lianna in the original Japanese Stream. We are also going to be using certain characters after they show up Raven is pretty much using all 3 SD characters, Stardust is going to use Robin and Lissa for sure, and I will likely stick with a couple of Fates characters + one from Awakening or something This will be at around 5:00 PM PST tomorrow if all goes right, I hope to see you all there, I'm also not sure how long this stream will be, I will also be using the 60FPS 720p option this time. It is SUPER smooth.
  7. To celebrate the massive success of my Japanese streams of FE:W, the influx of followers I got on Twitch and some on Youtube, I've decided to do this q&a session. You can ask me anything you'd like in here, although I'd rather it be more related to gaming overall I don't mind some questions about myself, I will be doing this for A week so on the 13th, this session will conclude, It doesn't have to be related to Fire Emblem & Warriors either, it can be pretty much anything you think of barring like obvious private questions I shouldn't tell anyone. Here's the best part, one of you who asks me questions, gets a chance to win a free copy of Fire Emblem Warriors, from yours truly, the winner will also get to select whether its the N3DS version or the Switch version. They will be randomly selected lotto style, there will be no bias in any way shape or form. @VincentASM a pin would be appreciated for this! Please try not to ask me more than 4 or 5 questions at a time, or less (I don't mind you posting multiple times but please keep it a little contained haha).
  8. I'm getting the Japanese Treasure Box of the game as some of you already know, and i've been testing my stream setups for the past few weeks now. https://www.twitch.tv/serenes_jedi/videos/all - I usually stream Platformers, and whatever I feel like at the time. While my pre-order is going to ship really quickly i'm still unsure of the exact day i'll be getting it, there are some things I need to note. My internet isn't the super best, so it might drop frames every now and again and stick that way until it stabilizes again. I don't know Japanese, so I will be mostly learning menus and playing the game to the best of my ability with pure menu prowess. If @shadowofchaos or @Kirokan is around they may be able to provide some assistance. (Anyone else with Japanese knowhow is welcome to help as well of course, they were just the first two that popped into my head). I will be going slower through the dialog however so people can use the Twitch Clip feature so they can translate scenes or send them to people who have proper talent to translate them. I will likely show off each character I get at least once, but find a squad to stick to after awhile (expect a fair bit of Chrom, Ryoma and Marth probably not all at once but still), provided there isn't too much character selection forcing. It is likely I will be joined on co-com with some friends from the SF Smash discord such as @Lord Raven @Batter the Beast etc like my usual streams. They will also likely be modding the chat, unless I find others like @Elieson and @eclipse free on that day. I will be streaming the game a bit until I complete at least the story mode in the Japanese version, however I'll likely wait for the English version to stream the game again + History Mode stuff. Poll is gonna be up on which MC to start with, however be aware whichever one we play as in the Japanese version, I will be playing as the opposite in the English version. I will take some small requests from my Warriors Discord probably as well, as thanks to their involvement. As well as requests from @VincentASM @Kirie and @Elieson for being the awesome fellow editors that they are! Be it like "using Sakura a bit" for Vincent or something. Any suggestions from the rest of you would be really nice! I want this to be as fun as can be, and I will set an actual date and time when I have the game in my hands.
  9. I say proper review yet I'm doing this on a phone. Anyways despite all the controversy surrounding Fire Emblem Warriors, it's turned out much better than I could have hoped in pretty much every department. Barring the roster but even the meh roster has merits in terms of supports and interactions. Lets start from the top, FEW is probably one of the most fluid and well playing Musou games out of the entire set, it feels nice to play in almost every aspect and doesn't really feel tedious unless you play for way too long at a time, and there's even advanced tech like frame cancels and animation canceling with dodges Allies are competent enough and you can order them to various forts and stuff or to heal up, target certain enemies, much like the Empires subset of games in both the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors series. This alone makes taking on multiple objectives feel less stressful (as Musou games main aspect is dealing with multitasking). Along with having 4 main units you control you also select who your allies NPC units are of the cast and this is tactical as well considering you can use them for pair up or orders as well. Movesets all feel fun, there's not as many unique movesets as say in Samurai Warriors or Dynasty Warriors (barring 6 and 7). But all the movesets that do exist in the game all work really well and none say feel as awkward as Agathas in HW etc. I personally have the most fun with Marth, Chrom/Lucina, Lissa, Robin and Xander (wow for once I like Xander over Ryoma in a way but his moveset is rad too since it takes a lot of Fates SM animations) but everyone feels super good even Tiki who folks thought would be awkward has easy ways to build Awakening meter to go into Dragon form (you can add Musou bars into her meter). The archers are really fun, and Sakura is adorable. Elise and Leo have a super awesome mounted mage set and I'd imagine they'll be really good when people start tiering characters in how effective they are. Same with Fred who has a super brutal moveset on his stead. Camilla brings the heat with a really cool Wyvern moveset. Corrin takes a bit of inspiration from smash with a lot of dragon fang usage and using the fang to stick in the ground, spin etc. i still need to unlock Lyn and Celica Pegasus Knights feel a little odd at first but also really shine when you need them to. Lianna and Rowan also flow really well and have a nice moveset and I quite like them, especially Lianna, Rowan might look like a goofy Naruto/Super Saiyan but he's a big dork so it works out, and Lianna reminds me of Sophita (from Soul Calibur) on promotion so that's a huge plus. The story is very basic, but it works, its divided into a traditional FE chapter format, you also have 4 difficulties, Easy, Normal, Hard and Lunatic which is unlocked after beating the story the first time. The maps are all really well designed taking advantage of both your multitasking ability and also how the enemies can pressure you. Along with unit types such as Pegasus or Camilla (or enemy Wyverns) being able to take short cuts, and in a particular map Hinoka and her Pegasus do a very solid job of rushing you down if you don't properly counter it. Objectives are simple yet may take some tactical moves (more so on higher difficulties where enemies can and will have effective weaponry making you use a varied team to counter them). The difficulty is just right even Normal mode can give you a run depending on enemy composition and your lack of viewing what they have (or you get locked into a team for a History Mode challenge). The game takes what Hw did but takes out the clunkiness such as Boss Enemies who took way too long to kill, and removed items being needed to progress or get S Rank objectives on a map. Supports exist and from what I've seen of the translations they're nice at some crossover conversations (shout outs to Celica and Xander and a number of others). Meanwhile others are utterly adorable (see Caeda and Tiki). While the roster is mediocre at best and the PR was quite honestly some of the worst I've ever seen (most definitely the worst I've seen out of KT who I've liked for years). I'd say if you have the vaguest interest or love Musou games you should give this game a try. It covers the FE bases as well as it can while improving on HWs formula and making it, more of its own. While some may decry the lack of as much weapon variety there should be, the focus on weapons properties tend to be more important than the triangle itself, although as the enemies get tougher the triangle is a bit more key to doing things faster. I'm willing to take questions, I just wanted to write out my thoughts. In conclusion, I'd like to say this is honestly one of the most enjoyable Musou games ever I've played and I have been playing them for an even longer time then I have been playing FE itself.
  10. In my childhood there was a great basketball game called NBA Jam, join me (no commentary) in reliving it facing the hardest AI with the commonly agreed on worst team in the game. Each game is only about 10 minutes, and there is goofiness to be seen.
  11. I'm currently waiting for the Famitsu article to actually come out and be properly translated before I do an official article for SF, but I figured I'd share my general thoughts considering I'm the Warriors guy here after all. I'll post my thoughts on each bullet here on the Gematsu "translation" of sorts even if I'm not too trusting of them The rough translations seem to be My article is now up https://serenesforest.net/2017/05/31/famitsu-details-fe-warriors-depth/ for the better translations
  12. Figured I'd share some of my thoughts with you all again. Hope you enjoy!
  13. So as we face yet another drought of no FE Warriors information (Watch them announce something while trying to get feedback for this). I would like to do something, kind of like my "ask me about Warriors thing", but in video format and just like, what should be discussion topics I should go over and questions you all might have about Warriors stuff still, but in this instance I can actually use footage to show what I mean when I say something. Ask me anything and i'll try to include it, even if its just "what are x's chances of being in the game in your humble opinion". Don't be afraid to ask something that may seem like a stupid question either. I can also use this to help clear misconceptions. I'll leave this up for a few days then do the video.
  14. After some technical issues, I can finally get back to my playthroughs, however I lost my data for the ones that were in progress before my laptop decided to explode on me. So I'm starting with some new runs. The FE6 ironman was unfortunately in there, which is sad because I had finally continued it, but now I have a new idea with ironmans starting with FE3 Book 1 and going through as many games as I can record over time. Fire Emblem 3 Book 1, is mostly recorded as we speak, just going up fairly slow to make sure I have content for a bit, 2 other games will also be coming up. Currently complete playthroughs in case you are new to my content. FE3 Book 2 Full Playlist World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck Full Playlist
  15. I've been playing Legacy of the Duelist a lot lately, decided to do a side series of just showing off the campaign, I hope you guys enjoy!
  16. Basically what I'd be going over is each character thats with us in Smash 4, not just their moveset, but also their origins and briefly touch on various aspects of how the character flows in smash compared to their other game counterparts, and their depictions in other media, this would likely take me eons to do, but I thought it might be a fun side project to consider. Thoughts?
  17. Since FE Warriors was announced, I've seen a fair bit of confusion and misinformation in terms of what to expect, this will not be a speculation thread. This is more a thread for those of you unfamiliar with the Warriors games, to ask questions for me or other experienced Warriors players, such as @Tryhard or @Soledai to answer. Don't be afraid to ask something you might consider dumb or obvious, most of the time there isn't a stupid question. I'll also try my best to answer in depth if the question in particular requires it. So with that, have at it.
  18. Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist is a game on Steam and some consoles that has a bit of fun to it, you can redo duels from the show and it has some appealing modes like the Battle Packs which is basically you draft out of a set of cards, and go face people. You usually draft a deck till you have 45 cards, and then do 5 duels, I was thinking it'd be cool if we could arrange like mini leagues, because you can face people online and even invite friendlist people into the room. The game is 20$ I dno if thats worth it to alot of you but its easier than doing the manual battle packs for free on YGOPro although I wouldn't be against setting that up either, you'd just have to give me awhile.
  19. Bleed 1 was a fun run and gun game, where you had to kill several old heroes who were too busy relishing their glory days to do anything useful and become a hero. You did this by dodging tons of bullets and attacks while delivering punishment. Now a sequel is here, and I played/recorded the first stage to show you all what its like, I have no idea if this will be a small series on my channel but eh. Enjoy My video quality isn't the best for this though, it didn't like my software haha.
  20. Now what I have here is a link to a small Short Answer poll https://goo.gl/forms/HOHjNtZvYTe4U8yb2 Put the character you'd want from each game, please do not put more than one or a / between two, it skews my data, if you don't know an FE or are not sure of who to pick, put that. Thanks in advance! I'll be doing a fun video when we get a bit of results. Edit: Whoops I forgot to mention BESIDES lords, but then again a few have multiple so those games are kinda free from the clause.
  21. So, i've been watching some ProtonJon streams again, and well he and BrutalMoose have been doing a cool thing with a few other streamers that they call "Danger Squad" which is basically like the group of 7 or 8 of them, doing some silly/stupid/funny challenge in whatever game the previous winner comes up with, usually older stuff so everyone can manage it easily, and heck sometimes in their challenges not all of them have even played the game(s) in question before. Theres also an odd "punishment" for the loser in their deal, but I think we can avoid that unless we come up with something silly and not full of malice ;P: I was kinda curious of the denizens of Serenes Forest would like to join me in making something similar, of course it won't just be like FE, but it could be any number of things. Not entirely sure where to start however other than the interest check, would you guys/gals be willing to join me in doing stuff like this? Challenges the group i've been watching has included, "How many lines can someone get in one run of Tetris", "How many Dunks can you do in 3 games of NBA jam against the CPU and if you lose any of the matches the dunks in that game are halved", "Playing Sonic 2 through but you can only die 3 times before you have to quit and your score is your final measurement of points". I dno how many people would even care about this, let alone come up with silly enough challenges, etc. Or be willing to record potentially bad runs of something. i'd probably make a playlist on my channel for everyones submissions, while you all would upload your stuff to your own channels, i'd basically be the "hub" of it. Also the submission forms work like this, from Elieson Challenge #1 - Challenge #2 - Challenge #3 - from Tsunami922 The Game? Kirby Superstar for the SNES The Challenge? The Arena, Speedrun, fastest clear time wins! Amount of Practice runs? 3 Commentary is Optional, not required. Since this requires a completed game, Tsunami has offered a save for us to use, it can be found Here Remember to name your file the same as the save, also no rom sharing, as that's against Serenes policy. Challenge #4 - From Deltre The Game? Super C (Contra) The Challenge? Its from Deltre Super C (Contra) for the Nes The Challenge? No Konami Code, determined by who lasts the longest till they beat the game or are forced to continue, then by score. Amount of Practice Runs? Since he didn't specify, I'll allow 3
  22. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB7E9LL-WM3bIeP3qRJoIOJBJ8Zu9nuQf I have a bit of a goofy playlist, I don't only upload lp stuff, I also upload smash stuff every now and again, and i'm intending to upload alot more, be it goofy, cool or humiliating. a few examples include.
  23. So I got a PM recently, this person was curious. If I was allowed to pick characters from anything (although they have to have at least appeared in a video game before), and make my very own smash roster, what would it look like? Their stipulation was, I have to think of my mindset at the time of each Smashes creation and what I was into at the time, I must adhere to the exact number of characters per smash game. I decided to make this thread as a bit of a fun project and I was curious to see what people thought of it. Honestly I don't expect this thread to be popular at all, but what the heck. I'm basically known for Smash discussion on SF so I figured this wasn't too much of a weird thread to make. So in this "alternate" reality, I am somehow in Sakurai's place, however my power doesn't extend only to Nintendo (however since I grew up with a number of Ninty stuff, the earlier rosters will probably reflect that). I have been given the power to make a cross over fighter of sorts, (that in all intents and purposes works like smash). Smash 64 was made in 1999, I was 7 years old, getting into various games, cartoons, some live action stuff, anime, etc partly thanks to my parents, family and some friends. This will also bite me in the Melee era, because I didn't know what FE was until after Melee, so I doubt FE people will show up till Brawl's timeframe, for example. So lets see where my similarities are now I will note what of 64 would be lacking here, I had 0 idea who Kirby, Captain Falcon and Ness were, I knew the others, but their impact was mixed on me at that point in my life. I didn't play DKC and Yoshi's Island until much later. So who would kid me choose for 64? I think it'd go something like this... Also there will be a spoiler below each choice for my introduction to each character and other info. Feel free to read or don't haha, I will also briefly describe how I'd have them fight, in terms of just general style. Note this is me trying to put myself back into the mindset of a 7 year old kid, forgive my weird choiceset Choice #1 Mario Origin - Super Mario series [spoiler=My Introduction to Mario] Mario's 1 through 3, were my introduction to Mario, 3 remains one of my favorite games of all time, 64 and World just expanded on what I already loved about the games, but 3 has always been a personal favorite. I've played most of Mario's adventures throughout my life and it was one of the first series my Mother introduced me to, and was my favorite gaming franchise for a time. Mario's fighting style would likely be the same, if not have some more Mario 3 influence, later down the line, or maybe the Raccoon Leaf as his recovery, but he'd be the all-round learner fighter still. Rewarding fundamental play at the higher level, with good throws etc. Choice #2 Sonic The Hedgehog Origin - Series of the Same Name [spoiler=My introduction to Sonic] The first game I ever recall playing, was Sonic The Hedgehog 2, along with my Mother once again, Sonic has remained a huge favorite of mine throughout his years, the good, the rocky and the occasional bad. The cool dude with attitude, used to be my 2nd favorite franchise, alongside Mario. His style in my set of games would be more akin to what Captain Falcon had, focusing on brutal speedy combos but also be a bit of a light glass cannon as opposed to Falcon, also his damage output would be partly based on his momentum during the attack, if you were in motion doing attacks, it'd rack up, or the faster you run into a lead in attack, the more damage/knockback it'd do. The undisputed fastest character in the game, and while he could combo his main weakness would be he'd need to setup his KO's properly or else it could be hard to do so. Choice #3 Tommy Oliver/The Green Ranger Power Rangers/Super Sentai (Well the look is from there anyways) [spoiler=Introduction to the Green Ranger] Well, Power Rangers is a huge part of my childhood, my Mom always reminds me how much I used to watch it, and the Green Ranger, Tommy who would continue to show up, with various different ranger powers, was my favorite character, but not only that he was popular. Power Rangers is something very dear to me, as silly & cheesy as it is, I absolutely adore it, also there were alot of Power Rangers based games back in the day. His fighting style would rely on Mid to close quarters combat, but also some minor disjoint with the Dragon Dagger, his golden shield can be turned into a reflector of sorts, he also has a ranger pistol, so he'd probably be a safe bets mid-ranged fighter, the dagger can also use green energy based attacks, so he'd have a projectile or two easily. Probably more power oriented overall. Also likes roundhouse kicks. His recovery would likely be teleportation Choice #4 Leonardo Origin - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [spoiler=My introduction to Leonardo] I watched the late 80's TMNT cartoon and was a huge fan of the TMNT games on the NES and SNES, I had some of the old highscores in my local arcade, Leonardo was my favorite at the time, the awesome leader with dual katana's Leonardo would most likely utilize his dual katana's for really dazzling fast attacks, but his middling speed, and lack of a true projectile would be his downsides to his heavier type (I mean he is a turtle after all) yet good close range frame data. He'd also probably have some very cool throws, due to his ninja training, really solid on stage, but a poor recovery. So basically a combo heavy fighter, but he needs some proper skill to get in right, however his disjoint would be pretty massive, woe to those who have to get in, he'd also have some ways to cut through projectiles, but not stronger ones. Choice #5 Samus Origin - Metroid [spoiler=My Introduction to Samus] Another story centering around my Mother, she loves the Metroid franchise, and is very good at it, I used to watch her play the games all the time, to the point where Samus can remind me of her sometimes, just an overall great awesome character, who kicks alot of ass The Samus of my game would likely focus more on her Ice Beam, stunning enemies, and brutalizing them with missiles, bombs, and also when she ran for a little bit, she'd get the speed booster properties like in Super Metroid and beyond, in which you can then activate the shine spark, her up close game would be serviceable, but she'd also have regular A moves be projectiles somewhat, like Megaman in 4, but not all. Her moves would deal hefty shield damage overall. Also if you get frozen in mid air, she can use you as a platform or spike you, or both even, the freeze properties would last longer depending on their current damage. She'd also be fairly floaty ala Super Metroid. Choice #6 Link Origin - The Legend of Zelda [spoiler=My introduction to Link] While I watched my Mom & Dad both play Zelda I and II alot and both of them beat them, my introduction to the hero with actually playing, was Ocarina of Time, Link would cement himself as one of my favorite designed protagonists, based partly on Peter Pan and the like. While i'm not the biggest fan of the franchise I do think he's really cool, he's kind of like fantasy Batman, where he has all the tools to do all the jobs Link's been fairly poorly equipped for all the smash games, except maybe Project M and to an extent Smash 4, but I don't really find myself thinking his moveset would be much different in my eyes, except giving him faster and better landing options so he isn't stuck in the air for eternity, and perhaps his ye old sword beams while he had 0-50% damage with all his sword swings except if you hit them at close range, so it doesn't eff your combos up, giving him some better ground mobility, however I still think he'd be one of the slower more tanky characters, but he'd have more options to deal the pain and keep people away better, also his hookshot would be a bit faster I think. Choice #7 Cloud Origin - Final Fantasy 7 [spoiler=My introduction to Cloud] One early summer, my Uncles were playing Final Fantasy 7 and I watched it, I grew attached to the various characters, more so Aerith, but Cloud was really cool his signature Buster Sword was ridiculous, and he had some wickedly cool moves, still one of my favorite RPG protagonists to this day, I still play the game every once in awhile Not going to lie, but I'd probably have Cloud keep his moveset the way it works in Smash 4, but his entrance animation would be a motorcycle, and his color pallets would be based on his fellow party members Choice #8 Ryu Hayabusa Origin - Ninja Gaiden [spoiler=My Introduction to Hayabusa] Ninja Gaiden, one of the hardest series i've played I picked it up randomly actually when I was very little, but one that remains a favorite of mine going into their more modern games, this Ryu is a heroic ninja who fights for vengeance and slays demons, generally a guy you do not want to mess with. Hayabusa would be really fast, with a focus on grapples, his grabs would lead into various combos, he'd probably have multilayered grabs like DK does and potentially a command grab leading into the Izuna Drop, he'd also have annoying little projectiles, like the shurikens and small fireball power ups, along with a good nair, a spinning slash. Probably would also have the best jumps in the game along with wall clinging and climbing abilities. Also he'd focus somewhat more on aerial combat as a whole Choice #9 Pikachu Origin - Pokemon [spoiler=Introduction to Pikachu] I was a victim of the Pokemon Craze, I saw the anime and played the games, was hooked from day 1. Pikachu was even my favorite pokemon back in the day, so this choice stays consistent with that Pikachu would likely remain the exact same. Choice #10 Sarah Kerrigan Origin - Starcraft [spoiler=Introduction to Kerrigan] Starcraft, I played this along with my Dad when it first came out, yes I played an M rated game when I was 6, so what. But anyways, Kerrigan starts as a hero but eventually becomes infested by a race known as the Zerg a rather feral alien race, that wants to destroy, or so people think in the first game. She was known as one of the greatest antagonists Blizzard ever made, and her tragic story just oh man... Its a doozy Kerrigan would likely be in her infested form and the only villainous character of the first game, she'd be very powerful, only average mobility, but she also has psionic powers including some lightning stuff, so those would likely help her close the distance for her "wings" and claws. Probably lots of KO options, but not many combos to speak of. She'd also probably be a tad floaty. She might be able to summon a minion or something, as she is "the Queen of Blades" and ruler of the Zerg during her tenure, so it'd likely be a little Zergling for a small Zerg Rush Choice #11 Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon Origin - Sailor Moon [spoiler=Introduction to Sailor Moon] Toonami is where I first saw it, it was a team based series where Usagi (Serena in the English Dub) and her friends defended the world from Demons, using various powers based on the star signs & such, generally was kinda sappy power rangers, but managed to have some shocking moments. Its still a anime I go back to, and it has some very solid beat em ups & a fighting game Sailor Moon would focus on medium range combat almost exclusively with some focus on aerial combat with her Sailor Kick, her medium range options would include her Moon Tiara Magic (which makes her Tiara a projectile), also her hyper voice like scream enhancements, she also would have a small healing factor, to reference the fact that she has healing powers but it'd be minor and semi slow so it can't be 100% relied on, she'd also use her Scepter for above said medium range combat. She'd be a zoner, and have to keep enemies out of her box, so to speak. Choice #12 Goku Origin - Dragon Ball [spoiler=My introduction to Goku] You all knew this was coming, when I was 6/7 Dragon Ball Z was around on Toonami and I saw it and got absolutely addicted to it, I still love Dragon Ball, Z is kinda hit & miss for me nowadays but I overall adore the franchise, and Goku is a pretty cool protagonist before the latter parts of Z Goku would be the high skill ceiling character, he'd have tons of capabilities, but he'd also have kind of lowish defense, as in he wouldn't have the best landing or get off me options, but he would have hyper aggressive options, and a good projectile in well, what else, but his Kamehameha Wave, he'd have solid mobility, but he'd be combo food, (I mean in the series proper he gets beat up a fair bit at points). But his combo game would be insane, with generally good mobility, powerful strikes, good ko options, and two other factors would play into his moveset, the Kaio-Ken, which is a temporary power/speed boost, but its draw backs would be it'd drain you (you'd gain %) and after it wore off, you'd be dazed for a little bit depending on your current %. His gimmick would be that of the in series Zenkai boost, which after he got beat up heavily, he'd become stronger, so how this would happen would be, a temp boost on a new stock, it wouldn't last THAT long, but it'd be potentially long enough to deal some massive pain if he knew how to use it. But if he was in unskilled hands, he'd probably die really fast, even with an ok aerial dealilo. And there you have it... Whew this took forever to write, but Jedi's 64 Smash roster would be at a Tl'dr glance and their general playstyle Mario - All-Rounder Sonic - Glass Cannon Combo Master/w Momentum Mechanic Tommy/Green Ranger - Mid-Range Anti Projectile, Power Leonardo - Close Range Master, Tanky Samus - Projectile Master, Zoner, Stunner Link - Zoner, Defender, Early Stock Annoyance Cloud - Pressure, Zoner Hayabusa - Grappler/Acrobat Pikachu - Hit & Run/Close Combat Kerrigan - Adaptive/Power Sailor Moon - Mid Range, Zoner, Healing Factor Goku - High Risk High Reward, Aggro Pressure I guess I'll do a Jedi Melee character list later, if people liked this for whatever reason. I was bored haha.
  24. I was just practicing for an eventual run for my channel and I ended up getting like my best time ever on Emerald Hill Act 1, its not as pretty or as awesome as speed runners but... Heck I thought it might be entertaining haha.
  25. Ok guys, King of Dankess is now over, Congrats again to Aura for securing the victory. Now we have some more gimmick ideas to try out (Doubles is still in a planning phase sometime down the line).
