1200 PST, August 4th, Wednesday Off Base, ANF Central, Nevada With the entire bridge and pilot crew of the Riese being given-- rather, forced to take the day off by Commander Vance, they'd been stuffed into a bus and driven off base to the living center of all Central personnel. A day of swimming... Jessica had been interested, despite her previous night's talk with Firmia, and what she had to do today. A whole day swimming at a 'beach' was an interesting prospect out here in the middle of the desert. And, if the Commander ordered it, then he ordered it. Nothing to go against. They'd get in trouble if they did, right? She couldn't help smiling at that. As they were ushered along into the stark white building, almost too bright to look at considering where they were, Jess wondered what exactly they'd be getting themselves into on the inside... That answer came swiftly and pleasantly. It was still warm inside, but bearably so, like... Like the beach sprawling out in front of them! The sky was obviously simulated on the ceiling, but the smell, the heat, the stands and even the sand... Was that actual beach sand? It looked nothing like you'd find out on the desert, what in the world... Jess coudn't really believe her eyes. It was like they'd transported the entire west coast into one building. She was practically beaming, the sensation alone has drowned out those negatives. "Alright, everyone!" she started, pulling her bag up her shoulder some. "This is our big reward for making it this far... Do your best to enjoy yourselves! It's a whole beach, so... Go nuts." There were other crews here, of course, they hadn't been given the entire building, but still. A scheduled break... It was a good thing. Jess saluted her crew, heading off to get properly changed and store her stuff in the provided lockers. Hope everyone brought their own locks. Hannah had to take in everything, all these sights new and interesting. She could download all the information she wanted about a beach and the things on it, but actually seeing it in person, it made things a lot more clear. The temperature, the sun, zooming in on the beach, the texture of the sand was even different. And this quaint boardwalk area, they really did go full bore on making things authentic, didn't they? "Shall we find somewhere to relax, Firmia?" The Alkaev was entirely setup for staying away from the water, which was expected. Hannah was considering taking a dip... As long as she avoided the deep end, like the commander had suggested, when they were talking to him. Sinking was not on the agenda. The rest of the bridge crew started heading off to their own agendas, Buck even tossing his shirt off and shouting, "last one in's a broken Velite!" as he dashed for the water. Avery smirked at him, glad he was still able to be a kid. And that left Chris and Christina. The latter had taken a moment while shopping to stop and pick herself up a more fitting swimsuit, even if it was still a two piece, though she was still hiding underneath a shawl. Chris hadn't cared anywhere near as much as Christina did, wearing the same swimsuit, a blue and black two piece, not a string in sight. "I don't really get what your issue is with strings, Christina... Like, it's barely more revealing, you know?" "You got taken off by Brant, so I didn't have your opinion when buying things... Galactic Century 0251 Time passes as humanity advances on the small blue rock known as Earth. Currently, two warring factions strive for dominance: The Allied Nations Federation: The Allied Nations Federation, formed through an unison of technological advancement, strong military, and nigh capitalism, ho! The ANF as a faction extends from the Americas to Oceania, as west as the Eastern Asian Islands. Being the first faction to heavily fund space colonization, the ANF succesfully developed 5 colonies currently orbiting the Earth, and it is there that most of its research and development are made. The continents hold a strong army with new technologies being relayed from the colonies fairly frequently, and is fairly self-sufficient in fuel and energy. Weapons development has veered towards all-purpose, in and out of atmosphere combat. and the Eurasian Union: The Eurasian Union, as its name suggests, is formed majorly by Europe, extending to the Middle East and inching its presence towards Central Asia. In addition, Africa is entirely under the faction, and Russia is not! While the EU presents itself as a democratic faction, political power over the Union's decisions and resource allocation is very clearly biased towards Europe, with Africa and Middle East housing subordinate ministers. In the grand scheme, EU has been one step behind the ANF on technologies and space exploration, but has made up with its larger available military and access to pivotal fuel and energy supplies. With the ANF having won the space colonization race, EU's efforts have been centered in persuading and allying itself with neutral countries to expand its influence within the planet. As a result, most of machinery and weapons are also designed to excel in land rather than space. Both are trying to form a single party government so that they may control the political sphere on Earth, and neither are willing to budge. A cold war has formed between the factions, as any real, full on war would destroy the planet they are attempting to control. Despite this, there are small skirmishes that take place on their borders from time to time, but these are typically disobeyed orders, and are swiftly dealt with. Though, while the ANF searches for peaceful resolution to their rule, the EU is constantly trying to bully their way into power, starting most of the disputes over the globe. While this stand off occurs, both factions rush their technology and fuss with their policies, in an attempt to gain power over the other and to curry favor with the remaining unaffiliated factions. These unaffiliated factions consist of: Russia, the Antarctic Circle, the Mars Colonies, and for the EU, the Earth Orbital Colonies, which currently belong to the ANF. During this time of cold war crisis, a phantom group has risen in prominence. They call themselves Apotheosis, and they threaten the entire world's order, fighting for neither side. While this rebel group had made no large scale assault on any ANF or EU base, their hackers comprise the best in the business, leaking large secrets from the ANF and EU on multiple occasions. These secrets have yet to provide either side with a leg up in the war, mostly being arms locations and military bases (perhaps a vague foreshadowing), but a rebel group's infiltration so deeply into either side raises alarm bells. Some speculate that this group is a collective of high ranking members from every faction, seeking to tear apart the establishment from the inside with subterfuge and panic, but others see them as simply a ghost in the system, something akin to the "illuminati" from ages past. Today, we zero in on a newly formed military squad, belonging to the ANF. A new Leviathan class space cruiser, situated in the Nevada Desert, has been christened the "Heion Riese" and is currently recruiting a crew. Its first member: newly graduated Captain Jessica Gefalscht from the heart of the Big Apple. While this squad will be smaller than most; a new initiative by the ANF to spread out their man power-- it will definitely be an important part of the plot set to unravel. ---------------- Welcome to SRW ∀! Always trying to be the center of the group's morale, The Go-Getter wants everyone to get along above all else. Not especially skilled at piloting in any specific way, they still bring something to the table that no one else can replace. (Limit: 1) Either really quiet or entirely deranged, The Quiet One keeps to themselves over their past, not revealing it without the heaviest of prying. They're either a master pilot or a master of something, a product of a terrible past or a manic fascination with the mechanical. (Limit: 2) Loud and belligerent, The Hot Head tends to be the first in a fight, always ready to start another! Adept at Melee of Shooting, The Hot Head really just wants to be around fights and figure out how best to make their robot fight better. Whether that be an upgrade to the general specs, or a fancy new weapon, The Hot Head is always on the lookout for the best gear they can get their mitts on! (Limit: 1) Either bio-engineered through the latest tech, stuffed with robotics, or simply gifted from a young age, The Gifted Young One is a prodigy when it comes to piloting mecha. They're overall strong with near about any robot, but what they lack is experience, leading to poor choices in the middle of battle, a nervous breakdown from the pressure, or not knowing how new technology works. Their skills need crafting and molding! [spoiler=Stats/Skills/Spirits] Base Stats: Melee: 5 Shooting: 9 Defense: 5 Skill: 5 Accuracy: 8 Avoid: 8 The Gifted Young One specializes in ranged combat because it gives them the space away from their enemies that they require to calm their nerves. The heat of close ranged combat is suited better for one such as The Hot Head. Skills: Predict Special or Extreme Spirits: Sense or Attune Snipe The Lofty Dreamer! (Limit: 1) The future looks so bright! But it's also so far away! The Lofty Dreamer isn't especially good at anything! This is temporary; within them lies the potential to outshine any ace! They just have to make it there first. The Lofty Dreamer is a mediocre pilot, but what they lack in skill, they make up for with determination and latent talent! I don't want this to die. I am ready to spent countless hours on this. Are you? Your character is only as important as the work you put into them. As this will be a squad focused RP, with plenty of internal character building, you will matter, even if you aren't the main character. I can't have people joining and then dropping this within a few weeks or a month. If you can handle that, sign up. 2) Availability. I need you around! There will be plot to discuss, arcs to go through, characters to know about, battle to work through. I need you available, and not just available on SF, but also on Skype. If you can't access Skype at least once a day to catch up on anything you may or may not have missed, I will have to skip on you (Serious situations like health, family, surprise work, school/college/university exams, or anything else under that umbrella are more important than an online RP, but if you are simply too lazy to log onto Skype, that's a no go.) 3) HAVE FUN AND GET ALONG! I feel like this is the hardest for most people. You are a group. You should all be able to at least get along with everyone else in the group and work together! We don't need any one man shows, any take overs, anyone thinking they're the most important person. So, my last LP ended up boring me, but this one seems fun. At least it's new and exciting, and I'm nearly sure it was never done before at least here). Galaxy Robo is a Strategy RPG on Super NIntendo. It was recently translated, and why it may not look like much, it has some interresting maps (from what I saw so far.). And the scenario is classic, but have some interresting parts, which you'll see at some later point [spoiler=Introduction] Our story unfold on a star system called Farleus on its three inhabited planet named Rohan, Altomira and Luxia As time have passed, these words have developped unique cultures and governments which each attempting to influence and hold sway over the others This created a tipping point, and disputes concerning the overwhelming power of these mysterious mechanical relics led to armed aggression Though many perished, the warfare ended with the creation of machine similar in power to Ancient Robo Fighters - called "Mobile Soldiers" However, an undiscovered secret lies buried within the Ancient Robo Fighter This game will be played semi-blind. I went up to the 8th Map. EVerything after is a complete mystery. The game is constituted of chapters, each having 3 Scenario (AKA Map). So, now, how do you think a large scale conflcit involving multiple planets and ancient secret begins ? Thats, right : a bandit chapter ! [spoiler=Chapter 1 Scenario 1 : Game Intro] Each Scenario start with this. Here it's a route mission With the isolated incident of a sneak attack on his hometown, our story begins. Zoran : A group of mechanized bandits is raiding our town! Fatis : After all, we're the only one capable of operating the Mobile Soldiers! Coming, Dad? Gasch : Fatis, as of now, I want you to start piloting Freet. Fatis : B-But... That's your precious Ancient Robo Fighter! Do you really think I've got what it takes? Gasch : There's little doubts in my mind that you're ready, son. Just remember what I've taught you Fatis : All right, Father... I'll certainly do my best. C'mon, let's get moving! Frank : Even though our job is done, technically... No matter... Let's blow'em away anyway! Leia : I WILL have my vengeance for what you did to Claire! Phew... we can now start. First, let's take a look at the map. It won't be too long. As I told you... Don't worry (or maybe we should worry...), this seems to be an exception. We'll have lots of large map later. Now, for a FE player, the color code may be confusing, so let's detail what we have here. The blue units are the ennemies. The one higher up with a slightly different design is Frank, this chapter Boss. The Red unit is our Lord, Fatis (or more exactly his Ancient Robo Fighter (shorten ARB from now on)), Freet. I suppose it comes from Ifreet, and have nothing to do with Fleet Leia is the green... hingy you can vaguely see in the forest. Gasch and Zohan are at the bottom of the screen. The battle is separated between Ally and Ennemy phase. You gain Exp for damaging ennemies and for being damaged. Units cannnot counterrattack. Well, let's take a closer look at our units : The left stats are the Robo(t?)'s, the right one the character's stats. SHIELD is HP, and the other stats seems pretty obvious. Freet is amazing. One of the best unit in this chapter. High Movement, and great power. His only drawback is that it doesn't have any ranged attack. However, it's fitted with few armaments, so it's combat ability is low. Leia is the healer. She can Refill units, given them a few SHIELD back, and restoring all ammo for all attack. Refill doesn't give any Exp, so we'll try to makes her earn a few levels in this chapter. PulseLaser is 1-2 Range The Early Game Archer equivalent. Not the best, but far from the worse. Vulcan is 1-2 Range, and Cannon is 3-4 Range. It was previously deployed by the Rohan Knight Punch is 1-Range, and Tackle 1-2 Range. His attacks will nearly destroy basic Imp, letting your unit get the kill. He's max level, so it shouldn't be used too much. And now our ennemies : I have no idea what the "some models" is referring too, because so far, they're the worst RF (Robo Fighters) I've seen. They're 1-shotted by Fatis and 2-shotted by the others. He have great stats, but his machine is quite bad. I'll detail him more during the battle. Well, this is already quite a lot. I'll show the 2 first Scenario a little later.
