  1. As the title implies: pick a video game character, and give them a moveset. Here's mine: Character: Byleth (Three Houses Trainer): Description: The House Leaders have been invited to Smash Bros., but as there's only one invitation, and the Church of Seiros (who were mailed the invitation) can't decide between them, they have to sign up together as a three-person team rather than as three individual fighters. Byleth acts as their instructor: coordinating with them and guiding them from the background. Claude is an agile combo-making trickster supreme; utilizing his Hero's Relic and his bag of tricks to rack up damage. He is pure speedy, ranged annoyance. Dimitri is a mighty warrior. Though lacking in ranged attacks, he doesn't need them; his Hero's Relic has all the range it needs, and with his power behind it, it will send opponents flying. Edelgard is a stone wall. With her small stature and heavy build, she is not one to be sent flying very easily. Her axe Aymr may lack range compared to the many swords that dot the Smash landscape, but it packs a punch. When range is an issue, she can utilize her Dark Magic to pressure her enemies and help her vanquish all obstacles in her path. Palette: The palette swaps give the House Leaders colourations resembling different students in their respective houses, while Byleth resembles various other characters, including Jeralt, Sothis, Seteth and Rhea. Moveset: Shared: Edelgard: Dimitri: Claude: Any suggestions for the standard, tilt, smash and aerials?
  2. Create a Smash Bros. Boss. Here's an example:
  3. I was wondering, in smash 4, what the use limit and regeneration time on Robin’s tomes (Thunder/Thoron, Arcfire, Elwind, Nosferatu) and the Levin Sword.
  4. Give it up for our very own Ice/IceSage He's going to Evo to play in Smash 4 & Guilty Gear. Lets wish him the best of luck!
  5. To restart the hype train leading up to smash for the switch, I've made a new characters thread. You can think of a new character that may be in smash bros switch, and then create a moveset for them. You may include any unique mechanics, specials, any notable normals, their final smash, and ideas for palette swaps. I'll start with a template on Anna. Unique mechanic(s): She can switch weapons on the fly, changing her properties to adapt to a situation. Obviously, we would have to make her moves weaker to offset the fact that this would give her HUGE top-tier potential, but I can see her working like Zelda in melee/brawl. Specials: Neutral special, switch weapon. Anna would start the match with a lance. This is a 'spacing' weapon, designed to deny the opponent's approach options in neutral. This would work well against people who need to get up close but of the opponent can beat your moves, you will get punished hard. She would then move to a sword, which would make her play like Roy/Lucina. If an opponent has lag you can punish them for it with fast moves, but you could be easily outspaced by people with longer swords and projectile characters. Next would be an axe, which is slow but powerful. The axe would also have large hitboxes which can beat other moves and block projectiles. If the opponent relies on a defensive neutral game, they will get destroyed. However, if the opponent can rush you during your endlag, they can pretty much do whatever they please to you. (Note: Yes, I did just make the matchup spread between these three the weapon triangle) She would then get an arcwind tome. This will have a lot of windboxes to annoy your opponent and make them whiff moves. You could also use them to trigger Lylat-style jank reliably. However, apart from trolling Cloud, this tome doesn't do much damage or knockback with it's actual hitboxes. Finally, there would be a bow. Although you can swing an arrow at the opponent for some close range damage, you probably won't be able to defend yourself in a disadvantaged state. However, if you can get distance between you and your opponent, you can fill the sky with a hail of death! Also, the bow deals 1.5x damage against aerial opponents. The animation to change weapons lasts 25 frames (so you can't use it mid-combo) but you may change as many times as you like if you press B again within those frames. Up special: Astra. This would be five hits in chosen directions that can be used for combos and recovery. Although it doesn't go very far distance-wise, you can choose where the hitboxes go, you this move is hard to edgeguard. Also, if you make it to the ledge before the fifth hit, you could hold down to go past the ledge, then input QCF+B to hit the opponent trying to trap you. It may only be used once in the air, but this is reset if you get hit (like Ryu's Tatsu) Side special (can be stolen by Kirby): Luna. A straight horizontal slash that ignores shields and counters (like final smashes/KO punch) and deals decent damage and knockback. However, to prevent it from being broken, it puts you in freefall. and has a lot of lag if you use it on the ground. Down special: Counter Sol. An upward slash (can only be used once in the air, so no infinite recoveries!) that heals for half of the damage it deals. To reference Aether, Sol -> Luna would be a true combo in a similar vein to Shulk's air slash when you are at kill%. Recovery: to get maximum distance, use Sol at the peak of your double jump, then Astra, Then Luna. Notable normals: N-air. Has 2 hits in front of Anna and one behind her as she swings her weapon around her. This would be her main tool for jab-locking. F-air. Spikes, like Cloud's F-air when you are using an axe, but works as a combo tool with other weapons. D-tilt. Has a high chance of tripping the opponent. Dash attack. Has her swing the weapon down in front of her in a downward motion while jumping. Deals a lot of damage and spikes, but cannot be teched. Final smash: Sister's help. She summons 2 LV6 CPU Annas that start at 75% damage. Killing them will not earn you a point in timed mode. They stay on the map until they die, and their attacks cannot hurt each-other or the player's Anna (as if team attack were off) Also, if Anna loses all her stocks while the CPUs are alive, she takes control of the CPU with the lower damage to get back into the game. Alternate costumes: Enemy-unit red, Ally-unit green, Player-unit blue, Vallite-purple, Grey (Kana), Brown (Morgan), and mercenary armour. (Quick note: In hindsight, I probably should have put this in FFTF because of necroposting (when smash switch is released) and double posting (for those who have come up with many characters). Oh well, I won't tell if you won't!)
  6. Hi everyone, Not sure how many people are aware, but Ranai and 9B are currently a donation goal for BEAST 7, the largest smash tournament in Europe. This is likely the only European tournament that either of these two players has a chance of attending the entire year. Over the past two weeks, I have spread information about this compendium existing to as many regional Smash 4 communities as I could. However, as of now they are only 23% funded out of 2,000 Euros and there are only 5 days and 6 hours left in the compendium. Ranai and 9B don't really have a chance now, in my opinion, without a donation stream. The Monday or Tuesday right after Genesis 4 would be the perfect time for one to occur. That's why retweeting my tweet here can really help a lot. If this information reaches a top player willing to do a donation stream for them, it will go a long way and they will likely get funded. https://twitter.com/Cranium_Five/status/822241714983305216 (Link to compendium: https://smash.gg/tournament/beast-7-1/shop/reward-shop-10)
  7. I have a favor to ask anyone that's willing to help me out. A personal friend of mine whose gamer tag is Panda Bair needs votes in a tournament nomination process in order to get added to the compendium. He is one of the best Smash 4 players in Chicago (currently ranked 13th on the power rankings) and has sets on Ksev, JJRockets, Darkshad, MVD, and Trela. He's a good friend of mine and I've known him for years. I also have a combo video of his here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-llURYrW6w You can get the most number of votes by linking your twitter to smash.gg and following smash.gg on twitter (twitter.com/smashgg) before you vote, right on the voting page, but you also need to make a smash.gg account first. Voting is free; you just have to post a tweet about it. Would anyone be up for voting for him for me? Here's the link: https://smash.gg/tournament/2ggc-midwest-mayhem-saga/nomination I understand if people don't want to vote for him or want to vote for someone else, but he's a dear friend to me and this would mean a lot, so thank you if you're willing to help me! Right now the voting process is incredibly close between him and the person very close to him, with both of them having already expended most of the sources they had to get a large amount of votes, so any and all votes can make a big impact. The top 2 people with the most votes make it, but 1st place is so far ahead no one has any chance of catching him. Voting for this lasts until Noon U.S. CST on January 16th.
  8. Hello everyone, some days ago an small article I wrote was finally published in Source Gaming. This article is about "How would work Micaiah in Smash Bros?". You can read it here: http://sourcegaming.info/2016/12/22/ds-micaiah/ What do you think? Do you like it? Do you have a question about the moveset or my reasons to write this article?
  9. So in Smash. Bros we have plenty of characters who fight with swords, guns, and even their bare hands, but not a single one who uses a little bit of everything. That's where Mike Jones from Startropics comes in. To quote QuarterGuy: "his primary weapon is a Yo-Yo, kinda like Ness, but if he has enough health in his native games, his main weapon becomes more powerful". I can see that working into his playstyle, like a reverse Little Mac. He also has access to secondary weapons a la Castlevania and in the sequel, he has a Psychic Shockwave which weakens as he takes damage. That could work as his neutral-B. Know what else could make its way into Mike's moveset? His weapons from the sequel, the bat could make a good Smash attack and the aforementioned could maybe be tilts. I don't know what they could do for his Final Smash, but I'm sure the pros can think of something. Finally, why do I want such an unknown character in the game? To raise awareness of his games, of course. The VC re-release just isn't as effective as the prestigious spot in Super Smash Bros. That's all I've got, what lesser-known character do *you* think should be included in Super Smash Bros.?
  10. After a good match, you love to watch your character pull a sweet victory pose. You can even choose which victory pose you'll do by holding up, left, or right on the D-Pad (or one of B, X, or Y on Gamecube controller for Melee), but do it before the action freezes in Brawl/Smash 4. Which ones are your favorite? Doesn't have to be just characters you use. I will draw mostly from Smash 4 for my favorites, but you can draw from any installment, as several poses have varied or outright changed from previous installments. I won't be listing characters for which I have no preference. If you have several favorites and want to use gifs like I did, please wrap them in spoiler tags like such so the page doesn't strain from loading a ton of gif images at once. If there's a forum rule I've overlooked that limits how many images I can post at one time, please let me know.
  11. So now that Sakurai has officially said that they are done adding to Smash 4 what or rather who do you think will be added to the next smash? Keeping in mind this roster spanned 58 characters. Do you even think they'll be able to keep em all? Personally here's who I can see in the next smash. 1) Splatoon inklings. Practically shoe ins given the game's success and the trend of having playable male and female versions of characters (WFT, Robin, Corrin) 2) Dixie Kong or King K Rool. Alot of demand for these guys especially seeing how people were disappointed that King K Rool was only a mii costume. 3) New Zelda rep. I don't know who but probably someone from Zelda Wii U. I could also potentially see Midna or Ghirahim appearing transitioning from assists. 4) Shovel Knight. Again supposedly alot of demand for this one would also be the "surprise third party character"
  12. Ok, I may not be posting this Topic in the correct forum (if this is the case, Mods- please can you move this to the correct forum please?). Anyways- I was watching the Super Smash Bros Direct yesterday and I didn't realise just how badly I wanted a crossover between Bayonetta and Kid Icarus. I have no idea how this crossover would work (I've never played Bayonetta, and I've only played Kid Icarus: Uprising) and it's probably the most stupid, dumb and generally crazy idea I've ever had. But I want it so bad.
  13. Blatantly stolen from a thread on /r/smashbros, but I think that their rules (three moves, including grab/throws) are too limiting. Rules: Your main (or other character) can use: - Five (5) attacks of your choice. - Grab. - One throw of your choice. If you want another throw, it counts as one of your five attacks. - Defensive options (shield, rolls, spotdodge, airdodge) are free. - Any movement you can do with only jump and the control stick is allowed, obviously. Keep in mind you may wish to have a recovery (which gives characters like Yoshi and Jigglypuff a slight edge). Tethers (zairs) count as grabs. [spoiler=Example]Link (SSB4): Attacks: - Bomb - Utilt - Bair or Nair - Spin Attack - Jab Throw: - Dthrow Depending on matchup I might swap something out for Uair.
  14. EVO 2015 YO GUYS. Some of you may remember the biggest Smash tournament ever, Apex 2015, and the thread I made for it. Well, it has officially been replaced, as EVO 2015 has something stupid like ~1800 entrants for each of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Melee. In this thread I will be covering like, three things: A) Some background. B) Stream schedules. C) Storylines going into the tournament. [spoiler=Background Info]EVO is a longrunning fighting game tournament (like, 15 years old at this point or something), and this year has nine (9) games in its lineup:Guilty Gear Xrd Killer Instinct Mortal Kombat X Persona 4 Arena the Ultimax Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Super Smash Bros. Melee Tekken 7 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Ultra Street Fighter IV This year marks the first time that Smash will have two different games at EVO; Melee is returning for its third consecutive year, and Smash 4 is making its first appearance (obviously). This is also the second year that this tournament has the official support of Nintendo. Both games have pools and quarterfinals on Friday. Smash 4 has semifinals and Grand Finals on Saturday, Melee has semifinals on Saturday and Grand Finals on Sunday, with the other four top billed games. EDIT: SSB4 Crew Battle happening Thursday, 9 p.m. PST. Stream Link. Melee Salty Suite happening Saturday, 9 p.m. PST - Bizzarro Flame vs. Kage at 10. Stream Link (probably?). [spoiler=Stream Schedule, sorted by game + links to streams] http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo1 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo2 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo3 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo4 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo5 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo6 http://www.twitch.tv/srkevo7 http://www.twitch.tv/capcomfighters [spoiler=SSB4 Storylines]At Apex 2015, Gonzalo "ZeRo" Barrios (, ) established himself as the undisputed best at Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, winning the tournament with his Diddy Kong, and only dropping a single game across the entire 1000+ player bracket. Since then, he has won every tournament he's entered, and has only dropped one set, to a Luigi player, after the Diddy nerfs. These days, he's largely switched to Sheik, and we've yet to see his Sheik lose a set. His dominance is such that at CEO (and I believe EVO as well) there's a $500 bounty to eliminate him from the tournament. Dabuz (, ) took second place at Apex; among other accomplishments, he eliminated Mew2King's Diddy with his Olimar, cementing in the minds of many that Olimar was a contender to be taken seriously, but nevertheless ZeRo beat his Olimar fairly effortlessly. Since then he's been considered #2 at points, but recently has been overshadowed by his regional rival, Nairo, and lost out at CEO to ESAM before once again being eliminated by Nairo. From the same region as Dabuz, Nairo (, , ), lost out at Apex, but since then has dedicated serious time and effort to improving, especially his Zero Suit Samus. His Robin and Pit / Dark Pit, all seldom seen in tourneys, are also quite fearsome, despite their relatively low positions on tier lists. Recently, he's been convincingly beating almost everyone but ZeRo, including taking second place at CEO a couple weeks ago, and in my mind he's likely the "best of the rest." ESAM (, ) has been largely absent from most tournaments, but his Pikachu is a force to be reckoned with, especially in a customs environment. While he lost out at CEO to ZeRo and then Larry Lurr, he was one of the few people to take a game off of ZeRo. With customs on, he's likely to do better, owing to his demonstrated ability to bait out aerials/airdodges he can punish hard with Heavy Skull Bash. He also has a pocket Samus that was able to take a game from Larry Lurr's Fox, before being counterpicked and eliminated by Luigi. idk I'm getting kinda tired of writing these, especially when I know there are other, better write-ups I can link you to. Other players to watch out for: - Larry Lurr (, ) is largely ignored, but his Fox is imo incredible and probably the best there is...and he has a solid Luigi as well. - Mr. R () is a widely considered to be one of the best Sheiks in the world, but we don't get to see much of him, as he lives in the Netherlands. He recently got taken out early by MVD and Larry Lurr at CEO, so it seems like he might not be as much of a threat as people think of him as. - If FOW () is gonna be at EVO, his Ness is quite strong, although he was taken out quite solidly by ZeRo at DVDA #5 Grand Finals. - Unfortunately, Mew2King is missing EVO this year, due to health struggles and hand pains. - AND OF COURSE, OUR VERY OWN PKL () will be at EVO this year... I think. If other people have ideas for smashers who should be on this list, gimme a blurb and I'll put them up. [spoiler=Melee Storylines]EDIT: TeamLiquid has a better write-up; go read it. The two-time reigning champion of Melee at EVO, Cloud 9 | Mang0 (, ), bombed yet another Apex this year. However, historically this has been followed by him taking things more seriously and kicking ass at EVO in the following summer. His other accomplishments are so numerous I don't feel inclined to list them all. This year, however, he's been having major troubles since Armada broke out his incredible Fox, which has forced Mang0 vs. Armada sets into counterpick wars, as Mang0 hates both the Fox ditto and Falco/Peach matchup. Recently, it seems as though Mang0 decided to suck it up and learn the Fox ditto, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to master it enough before EVO. Mang0 has also had some major difficulties against the up-and-coming challenger Leffen. Armada (, ), a Swedish player known for his incredible Peach, retired several years back after a period of dominance. Since his return to the scene, he's probably been winning the most, however, he's yet to win a major tournament. He recently picked up Fox, after deciding that the overall skill level had improved to a point where solo-maining Peach simply was no longer viable, and this kicked off an incredibly strong showing this year, including finishing second at Apex, losing to PPMD after eliminating both Mang0 and Leffen. Hungrybox (), the best Jigglypuff in the world, recently announced his impending retirement, as he is starting at a new job shortly. He'll be looking to take one last tournament before he bows out, but given his trouble against other top players such as Mang0, Armada, and Leffen, it's doubtful that he'll be able to win this last super-major. Mew2King (, ), the oldest of the five "Melee Gods," will be missing EVO 2015 due to hand problems, so that leaves only PPMD (, ). The most reclusive of the gods, PPMD seldom attends tournaments due to his own struggles with depression and other things, but nevertheless has managed to win Apex two years running, despite attending extremely few tournaments. He's kind of a wildcard at this EVO, but it would be foolish to count him out after he clutched out his second Apex in a row earlier this year. Lastly, the up-and-coming challenger Leffen () has been dominating the tournaments he's attended recently this summer, convincingly beating out the likes of Armada and Mang0 without dropping a set at CEO, FC Return, and What the Fox?, and so is going into EVO as the leading favorite to take the tournament. Another Swede, Leffen only won his first major tournament in December? of 2014, but went on to take 3rd place at Apex, losing to PPMD in Winner's Finals and being eliminated by Armada immediately afterwards, however he solidly beat Mew2King and Mango, and did put up great fights vs Armada and PPMD. In the tournaments after Apex, however, he had some major difficulties as Armada's Fox seemed to be unstoppable, and it looked as though he might have been doomed to fade back into Armada's shadow again. Clearly, that is not the case; Leffen's Fox is stronger than ever, and he looks set to win his first super-national tournament. Other players to watch out for: - aMSa () did extraordinarily well at Apex, as his Yoshi performed at levels we had not known were possible, making top 8 before narrowly losing to Mang0 in game 5 of their set. While he only recently won his first tournament in Japan, he's historically performed quite well at US tourneys. - The NorCal Three: PewPewU (), Shroomed (), and SFAT (), are all top-15? players matched very closely, and hold a special spot in my heart due to being from the best region on Earth, objectively speaking. PewPewU and Shroomed especially did quite well at Apex 2015, with Shroomed beating out M2K in Sheik dittos to make it top top-8. Again, if anyone has suggestions/corrections, lemme know and I'll add them. Results will be added to either this post or the next post as they happen. [spoiler=Results][spoiler=Melee]1. 15. Discuss Smash bros during evo 2015 here. I wanna share my thoughts about what happened. Sm4sh: -Nairo could have actually beaten zero if he had not failed those d smash stuns in game 1 and 2. Things could have possibly changed. -It was surprise that Abadango used Wario against Mr R. The first match was super hype with the Waft kill, though its such a shame that he lost. -Im glad Static Manny didnt get in top 8. He was being such a camper against ally, spamming the spin dash. He deserved getting his tactics back at him, considering he WAS the one who stalled out anyway. -Nairo 2 stocking Mr R was probably the hypest match in the game. Smash bros Melee: Axe vs PewPewU was such a good way to end today's matches, especially during the cliff moment. -I was really glad that Plup knocked Mango into losers. He deserved that after what happened at CEO. -Suprisingly all the gods except Hbox and m2k (press 1) got beaten by a non god in game 1, ppmd by hugs, armada by silent wolf, leffen by drugged fox,and mango by Plup. The non gods are getting better and better.
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy8uVc93q08 Can't believe I've been doing in wrong for 7 years!
  17. After Iwata-san's sudden passing, the only fitting thing would be for the inclusion of the character from the first game he worked on. I already voted for Chibi-Robo and Bandana Dee, and maybe you've voted, but I guarantee that this is not a bad thing to vote again on this. And while Villager has his recovery, there's still more that can be done for Balloon Fighter anyway.
  18. PLEASE TAG ALL YOUR GAME SPOILERS STATING WHAT GAME THEY RELATE TO. SOME PEOPLE HAVEN'T PLAYED THEM ALL. So I was wondering, we had this thread a while back at the NeoGAF boards and the discussion turned out quite interesting. I think it would be fun to talk about how certain characters would face against each other if they used the rules of their own games instead of going by Smash rules (where everyone is evened out). General consensus is that Shulk and Kirby are the most powerful, followed usually by Gods (Palutena, Rosalina) or God-like characters (Ness, Mewtwo, Pit) or characters with OP Ultimate forms (Sonic, Mario, I guess Link, I guess Pac-Man too, and some others). Of course, there's A LOT of room to debate this. Current Tier List: So what do you think? Who is the true most powerful Smash character outside Smash?

As a sidenote, Apex 2015 also happens to be the largest Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament literally ever, with over 1000 entrants. It also has the less-impressive title of largest Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament of all time (800+ entrants). (It also happens to be one of the only major SSB4U tournaments so far, so.) This year it has all official Smash Bros. games, as well as several other fighting games. And also Pokemon because why not? It ALSO is officially partnering with The Big N itself for the first time, which is sort of cool I guess. All (or close enough) the top players from the various games are gonna be there, etc., there may even be drama involved (coughcoughleffencough), it sounds like it's gonna be fun. As Nintendo is involved this year, and cares about the casual viewer, Apex 2015's format will be 4-player free-for-alls with all items on and set to "Very High." Additionally there will be no banned st- sorry what's that? It's not? What IS new, and pandering to the "casual" or otherwise not in The Know viewers, is that there will be a special Smash Newcomers stream geared towards, obviously, newcomers. Anyways, it starts on Friday, with the interesting stuff on Saturday and Sunday. The stream schedule is in the first spoiler. I guess this is a spectator/discussion thread? idk if there's actually interest here or if I just wasted like 20 minutes on this post
  20. I know it's not likely at all, but, if it were up to you, which additional Fire Emblem character would you add to Smash 4? Personally, I would want Hector to be put in the game; Hector is my favorite FE lord character, and he loves to rumble. I'd like to see him stand toe-to-toe with the other Nintendo characters on the battlefield! P.S. I realize that other games need representation too, but this is just a "for fun" scenario for Fire Emblem. Have fun, and I look forward to hearing your ideas :)
  21. Or... At least I hope this is. http://www.facebe.net/view/ox6iwknkX4A I've looked around to see those who have already gotten their hands on the new Smash, and if they've posted the music n' stuff. Turns out, few have. But here I am, at school bored out of my mind in my iPad. I would share the direct link where I found: Smash Bros Coliseum Melody But my iPad blocks YouTube. So, I searched in Google, and... I'm hoping, this is an alternate link? http://www.facebe.net/view/ox6iwknkX4A I'm not really sure, I'm hoping someone can get back to me on that. The reason why I'm sharing this is because out of all the music I've heard so far from Smash 4, that wasn't from previous games, mind you, they haven't really... Amped me up. This is one of the stand outs, I believe. And hey, it's Fire Emblem! So that's wonderful, yeah? *mumbles* At first I thought this was a Pokémon Colosseum theme, but... EDIT: Anyone? Yes, no? Is it the correct remix? IS it a remix? I can't play the video myself until I get home, so if someone could alert me if this is a link to the correct song...?
  22. So um. I dunno about you guys, but weirdly, the customization is one of the things I've been spending the most time on. At first it was mainly for the moves (since I've been playing the crap out of Smash Run to get all the custom moves), but as a side effect I've wound up spending a lot of time creating silly little loadouts for all the characters (IE alts like Daisy, Wolf, all the Koopalings, and Robin's alts are based on classes from Fire Emblem lol) or even optimizing them. So uh, I guess I thought I'd make a thread for comparing various custom strategies and whatnot. Customized characters are also great for feats like clearing Classic on 9.0, so hopefully it'll prove useful? Or just fun? IDK. Well, here are some of the main ones that I've come up with that any character can use: 1) No-Flinch + Hyper Smasher Self-explanatory: charges Smash attacks longer for more power, and gives you super armor while charging for Ganondorf Warlock Punch levels of power and impunity for every Smash attack. Basically good for every character, and on chars with enough vertical reach, it makes the Master Core 9.0 fight a breeze. I've used this one to clear Classic 9.0 with Lucina, Greninja, and Robin. Great for Classic, great for Smash Run, great for multiplayer Smash. 2) Healtank Combine an Auto-Healer equip with the two best Defense-boosting equips you can get; don't fall off the stage and you'll be very difficult to kill. Especially good on campy, stally characters like Dedede, Samus, and Robin. I used this with Charizard (and a healthy dosage of Rock Smash) to win my first Classic 9.0 run. Basically best for Classic, but also decent for Smash Run if you can compensate for the drastically lowered mobility. You can add Crouch Healer for the opportunity to basically double your regen speed, but in Smash Run you don't usually want to waste time sitting still. Crouch Healer could be good for Classic, though. 3) Ragetank This one is basically JUST for Smash Run if you decide you want to live dangerously, because it relies on Smash Run powers to be effective. What you want to do is use any All-Around Tradeoff eqiupment, then give the character the Super Armor and Rage powers. Desperate __ equipment is very useful for when you get to higher percentages, and if you REALLY want to get risky, you can throw more Tradeoff equipment on there. It might sound bad in theory, but if you can avoid getting launched it hits like a semi, especially with Rage active. At percentages of over 100 with Rage active, I've reduced Smash Run's toughest enemies like Clubberskull, Bulb-orbs, and Mimicuties to rubble in a matter of 3 or 4 solid smash attacks. Again, very risky, but very rewarding as well if you play carefully. I usually run it on the Dark palette variants of characters, but it's pretty much Lucario's jam. - Subclass: Vampire = add any Vampire effect equipment in for a safer version of the build. Or, even just equip a high-level health recovery power combined with 120% worth of damage, then just heal the damage right at the start of the game lol. 4) Smash Ball enthusiast Smash Ball Attractor + any of the other various Smash Ball effects; Double Final Smasher strikes me as another good one, low as the chance might be. I don't really run these, but seems like it might be worthwhile for any custom multiplayer Smash matches where Smash Balls will be active lol. I hear tell that multiple Smash Ball Attractor badges will stack, but haven't been able to confirm it for sure yet. Other stuff I've been using tends to vary on the character-specific equipment, like the Pokemon getting special Home-Run stuff and so on and so forth. Here are some of the other loadouts that work for more specific groups of characters: - Item-based Builds: Basically, you build around one of the item-related equips, like Item Shooter (Ray Gun / Super Scope), Item Hitter (Beam Sword), Item Hurler (Bob-omb / Smart Bomb), and my favorite, Home-Run Bat + Quick Batter. Equip one of the item effects and then an effect that starts you with one of the items affected by it, then load the character up with Smash Run powers that give you even more of the item lol. It's a bit gimmicky, but I've found it to be fairly effective. Note also that Ore Clubs (via powers) and Star Rods (via equipment) count as both hitting AND shooting weapons, depending on whether you're landing the projectile or the item itself, so they work for both variants. - Air-Attacker builds: Good for floaty characters or those with lots of jumps, and also good when combined with one of the various jump-boosting equips like Hi-Jump, Floaty Jump, Leaper, Glider, etc. depending on the character. IE, I used Floaty Jump + Air Attacker on a Falco alt and Hi-Jump + Air Attacker on Lucina. - Perfect Shield boosts: Not my favorite, but you can combine Perfect Shield Helper + Explosive Perfect shield. Useful from time to time, but I'd rather have something to boost my attacks, personally. - Misc. Useful Equipment effects: Anything with Caloric Immortal/Powerhouse, Moon Launcher, Meteor Master, Shield Reflector, Escape Artist, Improved Braking, Speed Skater (good for compensating for an overly fat character's slowness), or Nimble Dodger make good filler effects to add to other builds or to give to a nonspecific build that's just going for stats. - Misc. Useless Equipment effects: Anything to do with food that isn't named Caloric Immortal/Powerhouse is too situational to be useful given how infrequently food shows up. Effects like Unharmed ___, Sudden Death Gambler, Countdown, First Striker, and Insult-to-Injury are all pretty situational and useless and don't use them because eugh. Welp, that's what I've got. How about you all? Got any character-specific builds to share? I know equipments' Attack/Defense/Speed values are randomly generated (I think), so mileage will obviously vary from person to person, but I think the approximate raise/lower ratios are consistent for each type of equipment, so the strats should be relatively replicable. I might write a Smash Run bestiary next if people think that might be useful.
  23. I just thought I'd bring this up because it's a beautiful thing for the Fire Emblem series. South Park's Ike, Hurricane Ike, Ike Turner and the 34th President of the United States all are behind Fire Emblem's Ike in Google's search engine. That is fantastic (even though I know most of Ike's fame came from Smash Bros.)
  24. What if you can have a custom final smash, like the custom moves? It sounds kinda OP,but then again, custom moves are kinda OP too. Here are some examples of a custom final smash I made. Robin- 1.Normal Final Smash 2.Robin uses vengeance, the percentage you have is dealt back to the enemy. For example,if you had 75 percentage, Robin will hit that 75 percentage back at your opponent. 3.Robin uses a very slow Lethality. It KO's in a hit,but can be blocked by rolls and shields, and stopped by projectiles. Lucina-1.Normal Final Smash 2.Lucina calls Owain,Severa, and Brady (similar to how robin calls chrom in his normal final smash) Lucina,Severa, and Owain hit the opponents who get caught in the hit with Lunas and Astras while Brady slightly heals Lucina. Not likely to KO something though, just deal damage. 3.Lucina catches the opponent in a hit, using Sol and Luna, and then using Aether.Sol and Aether slightly heals her.Is pretty weak, but has high knockback. This is all I thought of for now,but if you like this idea, give me a custom final smash you'd like to see happen ;)
