  1. (Mods, if this makes more sense in General Fire Emblem or some other forum, please feel free to move it.) I really liked how Three Houses had no restrictions on what weapons classes could use. Class skills incentivized some weapons of course, but you could still use - for example - a bow to add range to your otherwise 1-space locked units. I really wanted future titles to double down on that approach and maybe remove the idea of classes altogether (maybe mounts/ armor would be something you "equip"), but instead we went back to basics with Engage. Now, I appreciate the added complexity that fixed weapons bring and I also like that Engage offers some flexibility itself with inheritable proficiencies and classes with variations for different weapon types, but it got me wondering about a way to combine the two approaches. The thing that stuck out to me was everyone having an innate weapon type. So picture this: what if, regardless of class, a character would always be able to wield their innate weapons, but if they were in a class that already used it, they'd get to use a higher weapon rank instead (this part comes from Engage)? For example, Alear would be able to wield B/ C Rank swords (I don't know if B Rank would be too powerful) as a Halberdier but if you put them in say, Wyvern Knight, they'd upgrade that class' B Swords to A-tier. So you'd get some variety in how you build units, but you'd get rewarded for doubling down on what makes a unit good and all while ensuring that each unit remains unique even if you put a bunch of them in the same class (for example you could have two Wyvern Knights, one who can also use magic and the other all three basic weapons). Granted, adding Arts animations to mounted classes may take some doing, but I've been mulling this over for a while and I quite like the idea if I say so myself. How about you? Thanks for reading!
  2. I know it's a bit early but I love speculating so lets give it a go with Book V.
  3. Since we know that Fire Emblem franchise had been adding LGTB options since Fates and had been using it for future games except for the remakes. We do know that Corrin and Byleth had LGTB marriage options for some other Fire Emblem units and this would possibly have Alear have it as well. Since we just saw Engage trailer reveal last month, we still don't have a confirmation of any of the new playable characters who are technically have any LGTB supports for Alear. Since Three Houses gave Byleth about 10 Same Gender Marriage Options, I don't know if Alear might possibly going to have about above 10 or less depending on how Engage really gave it out in the final version gets released? So, I'm going to make a guessing thread of what playable characters debut from Fire Emblem Enage who you think they could possibly get LGTB supports for Alear and you can't pick the Legacy Fire Emblem characters for this guessing topic? I'm might go to limit the guessing on the limit to 3 characters as of right now till we see who does have the LGTB supports for Alear when the game comes out? (I could possibly have it cranked up to 5 around in December since we might get more news of more characters before the release) My guessing picks might possibly be: Purple Hair Magic User Woman - She kind of gives me the Tharja vibes, but her incarnation, Rhajat, did have LGTB support with Corrin in Fates. Cramme* - Since his profile does say he idolizes Alear, I am don't know if Gust is going to give him the same LGTB marriage for Alear or not? Citrinne - I think she's going to pull the LGTB surprise at the release. (We don't have an official localized name revealed for Cramme yet)
  4. I was watching Lucky Crit's Full Breakdown Video of Fire Emblem Engage on YouTube to point out some stuff he notices. He did say that he pretty speculating the voice of Male Alear in the trailer cutscene sounded closely to Johnny Yong Bosch that gives the Lelouch moment from Code Geass there and plus, I do know that Johnny Yong Bosch did have other roles in Cup of Tea Productions before like Guy & Emil from Tales of Series games & BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle when he returned to voice Yu & Tohru Adachi. Since we know that pretty much the Avatars when they have been introduced when the voice acting Fire Emblem games gets announced that have VA introduced in Fire Emblem games for the Avatar who have not appeared in previous FE titles. (except for Shez who both his & her VAs did voice Saul & Ullr in Fire Emblem Heroes before Shez was introduced in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes) I was listening to the other roles comparing to the cutscene and some in the trailer, it sounded might be close enough that make it sounded like Johnny Yong Bosch as Male Alear, but the rest like battle and Emblem Enage scene that I am not too sure about it yet. But I do also think that could have also been Lucien Dodge (VA of Leon, Felix, and Naesala) as well since he does sound similar to Johnny Yong Bosch. But it does sound somewhere calmly in the cutscene. Do you think Lucky Crit's voice actor speculation of Male Alear's could have been Johnny Yong Bosch or not? I was thinking it on 50-50 on this topic.
  5. As a bit of fun while we wait for more information to be revealed about these characters, let's predict who they are and what their roles might be I think the girl on the opposite side of Abby(?) is her sister and they're the princesses of Elusia(?) The dark skinned boy and girl at the bottom are the prince and princess of the desert kingdom Alcryst(?) is the prince of the the fourth country I kind of feel like the blue haired guy might also be from Elusia(?) because his color scheme reminds me of Abby(?) I think the dragon girl in the middle might be Alear's sister. They could go for the "she's really 7000 years old but just looks like a child" route, but Alear is already 1000 and looks like a teen/young adult, so I think she actually is the relative age she appears (in dragon years) and not not really an adult. I think the woman in the top right corner looks very royal, but all the other countries are taken. So I think she might be Alear's mom.
  6. Since Three Houses and the upcoming Engage did managed to add Brawl as a weapon-type in the FE series. If they decided to add Brawl as a new weapon-type for Heroes similar to like they managed to add the Beast Weapon-types in the game when Book III was released and OC FE Heroes characters like Freyja and Freyr became the first OC FEH Beasts in Book 4. Do you think we could see Brawl weapon-types and some Gauntlets weapons can be added somewhere when the possible Book VII comes out (+ maybe additional OC FEH units with Brawl Weapons possibly added in Book VII as well?) since some of the Brawler units added in like Balthus had been chosen as an Axe unit due to Brawl weapon-type wasn't added to Fire Emblem Heroes yet? And if Brawl weapon-type was added in, do you think it's going to be in the colorless category for the first release for the Brawl weapon-type units and then later getting added to the color category in the later release like how the Colored Bows were added in later and then the Colorless Dragon Stones were added later on as well?
  7. In the trailer we saw Sigurd use both swords and lances. If we assume he can equip both of those and it isn't purely a visual thing, that opens the door for a bit more diversity and makes up for six of the Emblems seemingly using swords by default. And while it's a stretch, it may mean Sigurd isn't the only non-Infantry Emblem as well. So, as someone who's only played ~half of the entries I wanted to see what you all thought the other Emblems could use, taking into account their home games and FEH alts (since Ike and Lucina showed that FEE doesn't mind borrowing from there). Off the top of my head: Marth: is always infantry sword-locked in his game appearances, but has used a bow and axe in his FEH alts (and been cavalry and armor). Celica: always infantry, but can use both tomes and swords. This seems a safe bet for FEE too. Sigurd: cavalry, we've seen him use swords and lances. Leif: is a bow cavalier in FEH and a Trickster in FE13 (thus used staves) but otherwise sword-infantry. Roy: another sword infantry only, but has used horses and a bow in FEH. Lyn: same as Roy, but Blade Lord could also use bows in FE7. Eirika: goes from sword infantry to sword cavalier in FE8, but has used magic and a lance in FEH. Considering Ephraim taught her how to fight and Lyon taught her magic according to FEH, I could see either option working (though magic is obviously more of a stretch). Ike: obviously I expect Ragnell to show up in addition to Urvan. Maybe brawling too? Micaiah: she flies in a bunch of FEH alts, but unless staves are a valid option I can't think of anything else she could use. Lucina: again, I'd expect her signature sword at some point, but who knows: maybe Brave Lucina's lance could show up too? Corrin: she's using a dragonstone in the mural, so I imagine she'll have both that power and Yato. Byleth: he's proficient in (white) magic and brawling in addition to the sword, but if we can only choose one it'd probably be the latter? Brave F!Byleth flies, so maybe M!Byleth can too? So... yeah, not much in the way of movement options, which is weird since one of Sigurd + Alfred's boosted abilities is Override which feels like it would be cavalry exclusive. Maybe bonuses are all about everyone's weapons matching up instead? What do you all think? I think it'd be a valid strategy (while being hilarious) if anyone who only has one weapon proficiency get brawling as a second by default. Roy's our boy!
  8. To this day, I've never understood why on earth Alm was made to be an invincible hero without the flaws to contrast Celica with character development to boot. If Celica was also another superwoman, then at least I'm glad there isn't the double standard, but she isn't. Celica may as well not be a protagonist, and worse, the whole contrasted pair theme gets botched (Zofia vs Rigel (or peace vs war) thematic dichotomy), which was the point in the original game. I'm dreading the possibility that Sigurd might end up becoming Alm 2.0 and be another invincible flawless hero, and go against the entire point of the first part of Genealogy/FE4. It's something that I've been thinking about as the Nintendo DIrect approaches and the possibility of the FE4 remake surfaces. Am I thinking stupid/paranoid? Quite likely. In fact I hope I'm proven wrong, but considering how IS seem allergic with writing flawed (or struggling) males heroes in more modern games (Dimitri finally being an exception (whether partial or in whole may be up to debate but still)), I'm not too optimistic with this. Anyone else have similar opinions?
  9. Since I do think there's definitely someone in Serenes Forest might have ideal Brave Alt Outfits for Choose Your Legends Round 6 and so on after Choose Your Legends Round 5 was been revealed a while ago. I was thinking of doing an ideal Future Brave Alts Outfit Thread to come up with any characters that could win the future Choose Your Legends Rounds after Round 5. I had some ideas in my head I was thinking of like: Chrom - He might wear a similar outfit like his elder sister, Emmeryn. Maybe a Sage Outfit. (It be similar to like Eirika wearing a similar outfit to her twin brother, Emphriam) Seliph - He might wear either an outfit that is similar to his father Sigurd's or could wear a Sage Outfit like his mother Deidre had. Elincia - She might wear a similar outfit to her uncle Renning. Might go with a Cavalry Unit. Innes - I did watched the Edwardo's video that have Eirika dressing up and acting as Emphriam. I was thinking of what it be looked like he wears a similar outfit to his sister Tana. But, I do think realistically he might going to wear a similar outfit like his father Hayden. Caeda - I could see she could wear a similar outfit to Marth's, but she could use a rapier instead of a Falchion since she doesn't have the blood to wield the Falchion. Byleth - I could see the male version (or female version) could wear similar to Jeralt's and be a Cavalry Unit or could wear a similar outfit like his/her mother. Lilina - I could see she would might wear a similar armor like her father Hector, I definitely think this would might be off that I think it would be risky wielding of Armads. I think Hector did said he wanted a son to wield the Armads before Lilina was born back then. Yuri - I definitely think he could wear his Trickster Outfit or an outfit similar to his ancestor. Bernadetta - I think she could use her Time Skip attire similar to all the House Leaders and Lysithea had. Just post your ideal Future Brave Alt Outfits to show what is your thoughts on the future possible CYL Winners might wear.
  10. I was looking through those screenshots that was used in the 25th Anniversary Book that reveals the cancelled Wii Title that was suppose to be planned to be released after Radiant Dawn came out in 2007. I definitely know that the continent that was used in that cancel game doesn't look it was Tellius at all, but it suppose to be a brand new continent. But I definitely see those three characters showed up in the screenshots looked alot like Stefan, Ilyana, and Rhys (we can't see the hair due to the hood on, but it outfit looks alot like his, but it had some red stuff in the clothing since the ingame models and artwork had Rhys had some blue in his clothing). They never specified that what was those three characters' roles suppose to be used in the Cancelled Wii Title. Do you guys think Intelligent Systems had planned on putting Stefan, Ilyana, and Rhys as Recurring Characters in that cancelled Wii Title similar to like the three Awakening characters that appeared in Fates such as: or do you think Intelligent System had planned those three characters were most likely completely different characters that looked like the three Tellius characters? If you haven't seen the screenshot of the Cancelled Wii Project what it looked like when they're there. They showed up in Imperial Capital: Grisstal and the Village. https://gonintendo.com/stories/249223-more-details-on-the-cancelled-fire-emblem-wii
  11. I was thinking of redoing over the topic that I talked about earlier a year ago and this is going to be more SNK-only focus related earlier. Since we finally have Kazuya from Tekken becomes the 2nd Bandai Namco rep that we wanted a 2nd Bandai Namco rep for years, since a lot of 3rd Party Companies have two 3rd Party Franchises in the roster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate while SNK is now the only 3rd Party Company without a 2nd Franchise Rep. We do know that Banjo & Kazooie along with Steve are owned by Microsoft and they're both DLCs while Square Enix had Heroes from Dragon Quest and Sephiroth as the 2nd Final Fantasy rep in the roster. I do think we might going to have a 2nd SNK Franchise rep as the Final DLC Newcomer for Challenger Pack 11 to complete every 3rd Party Companies with around 2 3rd Party Franchises since we are going towards to the end of Fighter Pass Vol. 2 with no more coming. Since I did taken a look at the music tracks used in King of Fighters Stadium to see some non-Fatal Fury music tracks such as The King of Fighters, Art of Fighting, Athena, Ikari Warriors, Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, and Alpha Mission. I seriously do not think we are getting any characters from Samurai Shodown nor Metal Slug represented becoming in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate due to their music tracks were already been added in Terry Bogard's DLC content and Nintendo already had planned the set up for Fighter Pass Vol. 2 during in Terry Bogard's Development. There are other SNK Franchises that I found that none of the Music Tracks were ever used in the King of Fighters Stadium and one of these could might fit as the 2nd SNK Franchise Rep: The Last Blade Crystalis Sengoku Baseball Stars World Heroes King of the Monsters Beast Busters Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! Prehistoric Isle Pulstar Shock Troopers Stakes Winner Super Sidekicks Twinkle Star Sprites Vanguard Ragnagard Guerrilla War Street Smart Zed Blade I'm betting on my guess in which SNK Franchises that could work for a 2nd SNK Franchise rep is someone from The Last Blade (presumably Kaede), Crystalis (Simea), Sengoku, Shock Troopers, or World Heroes series (presumably Hanzo). I might choose Kaede from The Last Blade or Simea from Crystalis.
  12. Since in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the Fire Emblem Franchise Category for Jugdral Series had a total of 5 Characters that are Sigurd, Seliph, Deirdre, Julius, and Leif and I seriously don't think Sakurai would add another Fire Emblem character for Fighter Pass Vol. 2 since we already had gotten Byleth as the DLC Fire Emblem Fighter in Ultimate. I'm speculating that this new Fire Emblem title will show up on E3 2021 to be the Jugdral Remakes and I know that Ultimate was the first Super Smash Bros. installment to finally add Jugdral Content in the game. So for this purpose of the thread, if the new Fire Emblem game turns out to be the Jugdral Remake and Sakurai decides to add more Jugdral Spirits as a new Spirit Event sometime after the possible Jugdral Remake gets released. What 4 Spirits and/or Enhanced Spirits from the possible Jugdral Remakes that you want to see to be added as a new Spirit Event? Julia Arvis Probably the new character from the possible Judgral Remake Nanna and Finn Possible Spirit Enhancements: Seliph (probably as a Knight Lord from a new Judgral Remake) - Don't forget that Rex did have a later enhanced spirit of his own when Pyra and Mythra were added in Ultimate. Note for the Thread: We're only here to speculate and hopes that what spirits that you want to see as Spirit Events from a possible Jugdral Remake. Were are not here to discuss the Jugdral Remake is not possibly coming in general since this is more of a Super Smash Bros. related towards on Spirits.
  13. Since we pretty much have three months left till July. We know that the Summer Banners are going to be around July and August every year. Since Ylisse, Nohr, Nifl and Muspell, Ellibe, and Fodlan got one. What are your thoughts on what 2 realms that we might get in this year? I was hoping that we could see some full Valentia and Tellius Summer Banners since we haven't gotten a Valentia and Tellius exclusives banner in a while. I did think of ideal units might possibly show up in the banner are: My ideal Summer Valentia units: Clair and Gray (Duo Hero) Tobin Kliff Alm Lukas My ideal Summer Tellius units: Mist and Elena (Duo Hero) Ike Elincia Kieran Geoffrey Post what are your speculative thoughts on what two Summer Banners that we could see around July and August 2021?
  14. I've been contributing to Three Houses's page on The Cutting Room Floor for quite a while, and the sheer amount of stuff I have documented in it about scrapped stuff is quite impressive honestly. Something which isn't discussed often however is what some of the stuff found there implies for the game's development, which is kind of the reason this thread was made. Full disclosure: The info I'll speak about has been found and corroborated with people like DeathChaos and the fedatamine.com team, who have hacked and datamined the game. The only thing I've done myself is reporting the unused content they've uncovered in places like TCRF and NIWA’s Fire Emblem wiki, and analyzed the internal number of the game’s voice clips based on a rip someone did of the game’s files some time ago. Also, while this post might be familiar to some as I already posted a previous version of it on reddit, some of the stuff here has been revised and new tidbits were added which might be of interest for some (perhaps?). Without futher ado, let's get to the nitty gritty: 1. Thales, the sword-wielding priest??? In the game’s files there’s an unused agarthan sword called Ridill, whose description flat out states it was meant to be Thales’s signature weapon before Quake Σ took it’s place. While it’s currently unknown if the weapon has a unique model (or if it works at all), it’s interesting to note the description calls Thales a priest, rather than a guru as his class’s description does. I checked the japanese script to see if the sword’s english description happened to be a mistranslation, and it turns out that is not the case! In japanese, the characters used are “祭司“, which can be literally translated as "priest" or "seer". By contrast, Thales’s Agastya class calls him a “導師”, which more or less means “a sage/mage/guru with high authority”, thus it can be translated in far more ways than simply "priest". So yeah, this bit is quite tame overall given it’s mostly about semantics. 2. Cleobulus, the missing(?) agarthan. In the character data, between the generic TWSITD members found in Silver Snow/Verdant Wind’s Shambhala chapter lies an unused minor character boss who goes by the name of Cleobulus. The presence of this scrapped character is intriguing for 2 main reasons: a) Sans Kronya and Odesse, most of the important agarthan members are named after the Seven Sages of Greece, and in the base game there just so happens that there’s seemingly no seventh member to be seen... b) There is also an important agarthan member whose true identity is never revealed in the game: Cornelia, the court mage of Faerghus. While the character data displays the unused agarthan as a male (normally debunking whatever theory one could make about this), I also noticed one of the generic named slitherers (Bias) happens to be internally set a male Holy Knight when in-game they're a Gremory (which is female-locked). So I went and asked DeathChaos some time ago what was up with that, and here's the response I got: 3. Quests would have unlocked everything, even scrapped features. There is an insane amount of unused quests, and a bunch of them were meant for features which are either already available by default, were changed in the game or are simply scrapped. Want to tutor a student? You had to do a quest first. Exchange travelers? Hear the game’s soundtrack in Manuela’s office? Allow your students to do Certification Exams? Repair weapons? You know the drill, and this also applies for scrapped features like riding horses, trading items + getting books through it, unlocking new personal info about your students, etc. 4. Some characters have doppelgänger problems. Besides the already existing variations some characters have for story purposes like !Child Edelgard & Dimitri, there's also a few duplicates of some characters running around which most players have likely already spotted without realizing it: a) The Gilbert that aids you in Chapter 5 is a completely different character from the one you get in Azure Moon. This incidentally explains why he so happens to lack his personal ability during that map. d) The Flame Emperor seen in Chapter 6 is different to the one the game uses for story scenes and Chapter 11 in BL/GD. She seems to exist only so her name can be seen as ??? in the game's dialogue during battle. By contrast, the in-game event engine manually changes the name of the other Emperor to ??? during story scenes. c) Chapter 12 for some odd reason uses a completely different Edelgard compared to the one that's playable. While I'm not exactly sure why that's the case, I did notice that the stats she boasts in that mission are barely any higher compared to the previous chapter... d) Lastly, both the masked and playable Jeritza added via DLC are internally considered their own separate entity. The former has barely any data to speak of and doesn't even have a personal skill, though interestingly, he does bear a Minor Crest of Lamine similar to his playable self. 5. Many story scenarios and set pieces were likely planned in advance, way before their triggers were even implemented. The internal order of story events and the voice clips surrounding them are fascinating to analyze, as it might shred light on the how some stuff was implemented into the game plus the time it was implemented into development. For example: Ever wondered why the Blue Lions and Golden Deer routes get a scene prior to the Holy Tomb event with the Flame Emperor reveal which the Black Eagles don't have? Well, internally, Edelgard's coronation is located right next to those events, which suggests her scene is meant to serve as a counterpart of sorts. Caspar and Linhardt's lines as enemies on the event prior to the Fort Merceus mission from Verdant Wind actually originate from the Silver Snow route, as not only that version of the event comes first internally, the voice clips used are also located in the area where their Church route story clips are located. This also happens to double as leftovers of a scrapped feature Silver Snow had at one point where the Black Eagles who fell in Part 1 of Classic Mode showed up in Part 2 as enemies later (the devs didn't do a good job at scrubbing it, truth be told). Dedue’s return in Azure Moon was planned way before his paralogue was made, and that includes Felix & Annette’s scrapped defection as their clips are located in the area of their Blue Lion story clips lie. Lorenz’s scrapped defection on Verdant Wind has his battle clips against Claude in both the Azure Moon and Verdant Wind’s version of Chapter 16, while the monastery exploration clips where the Hilda, Raphael and Marianne acknowledge his demise exist only for Verdant Wind. Of course, this also begs the question: what scenarios were added late in development then? The short answer is: everything related to paralogues, including the Death Knight/Jeritza’s unlockable death scene in Azure Moon, as the location of its voice clips suggests it was added right after their paralogue was finished (AKA way after Azure Moon was finished). This incidentally also corroborates what a previous developer interview said about Mercedes: 6. Gronder Field 2? In my Silver Snow? It’s more likely than you think. Anyone who has played the Silver Snow route knows that its story conveniently skips the Gronder Field 2 battle and the whole month in which happens because of reasons. In spite of this, there is actual circumstantial evidence pointing the devs briefly considered giving said route their own version of that chapter: a) One of the two unused maps in the game is set to load Gronder Field 2 as the battleground, is internally called as a Chapter 17 of some undefined route, and only contains enemy and deployment placeholders only for the Black Eagles slot, while the other 2 slots for Azure Moon and Verdant Wind are empty (in case anyone wonders, both Silver Snow and Crimson Flower share the same slot internally when loading a specific map, meaning it’s entirely possible though hacking to load any map from SS into CF and make it work with mostly no issues). b) A specific map having data for only one route is a quirk which only exist for route-exclusive missions like the ones from Crimson Flower and Azure Moon, while everything else which is shared between 2 or more routes (like most of part 1 & 2 + the chapters shared between the Church and Claude’s routes) have data filled in their 2/3 slots respectively. c) In the monastery exploration script, there is one empty slot between the Silver Snow and Azure Moon routes. Had a proper Chapter 17 been added into into SS, the only data which would’ve needed to be repointed to preserve a consistent internal order would’ve been only the stuff concerning Silver Snow’s exploration. d) There is an awkward difficulty spike between Silver Snow’s Chapter 16 and 17 where the enemy’s levels go up by 4 instead of 2. This issue doesn’t exist in Azure Moon and Verdant Wind as the Gronder Field 2 battle makes sure the transition between each chapter is slightly more smooth stat-wise. e) 10 Placeholder event slots exist between the story and paralogue stuff, so adding more story scenes to Silver Snow without messing up anything afterwards would've been possible (there are also 16 more placeholders between the paralogues and Cindered Shadows, but I don't know if those existed prior to the release of the DLC). 7. "Wait, one of the two unused maps? What’s the other one about?" The second unused map has the same enemy and deployment data as the first one, with the difference it loads Fort Merceus as a battle location and it internally calls itself as a Chapter 18 of a non-defined route. Unfortunately, there’s very little evidence suggesting plans for that one. If I had to make a guess though, I dare say the Fort Merceus infiltrations for Silver Snow and Verdant Wind were planned to be far more distinct at first before both maps where combined into one spot. This is 100% conjecture from my part though, so there’s a good chance I might be wrong. 8. "What about Crimson Flower? Could have Gronder 2 or Fort Merceus been planned for that route?" Location wise, the battle script of the Crimson Flower's maps (Chapter 12-17) is all gathered together after Verdant Wind and before the paralogues. Meanwhile, CF's exploration script comes after Part 1 but before Silver Snow, Azure Moon and Verdant Wind's, so overall I find very unlikely those unused maps could have been planned for Edelgard's route. 9. Crimson Flower was likely saved for last (before the paralogues) and thus rushed, NOT unfinished. Before getting into this, I think it's important to clarify the distinction between the words rushed and unfinished, as they have different implications in spite of being used interchangeably by many. Rushed means some action/object was made hastily and under a low interval of time. Unfinished meanwhile, more or less indicates some action, product or something was never finished or given any conclusion of sorts. With that out of the way, let's talk about the 2 points which suggests Crimson Flower fits the former description rather than the latter. a) Scrapped class sprites of Rhea and Dimitri sporting their unique appearances in CF is the only thing left unused for that route on launch, and Jeritza as a whole was more or less left as a huge blank both story and data wise before the post launch updates happened. By contrast, the other 3 routes have quite the amount of unused story, battle dialogue and scrapped defection situations. b) While most story events are internally listed in chronological order for Silver Snow, Azure Moon and Verdant Wind (sort of, it kinda jumps at the middle of each one before wrapping them up later), Crimson Flower instead has its own not only listed after all three, but also has its very last event listed in the data be the scene in which Rhea attacks Byleth and kickstarts the time skip. I think it goes without saying what this implies given how the route's well known at this point for lacking animated cutscenes besides the ending. Before wrapping up, here are some honorable mentions I didn't consider huge enough to deserve their own spotlight: Scrapped dialogue & voiceclips suggest Silver Snow's Endgame was even harder at one point, as they point out the player would have needed to seize 3 separate reinforcement spots rather than just 1 to stop the White Beasts from spawning. The enemy Death Knight class is capable of teaching a playable unit the Heartseeker skill once mastered. This is the only case where an enemy only class can do so, as not even the Flame Emperor class (which is a palette/model swap of Edelgard's Armored Lord class) can do it. Speaking of Death Knight, after the Wave 3 update, data was added in CF's Chapter 12's exploration to make Jeritza/Emile appear in it to say hi and confirm he's the Death Knight earlier, which was dummied out. Regarding the unused maps mentioned earlier, those happen to be the only ones which deliberately call for Female Byleth in the deployment slots (by comparison, the game runs a code to swap Male Byleth for the Female one if it checks she was chosen at the start of the game in the other maps). Given that some cutscene stuff suggest !FByteth was added later in development, there's a huge chance the devs used those maps to test her out. So…yeah. If I had to describe this game's development with a few words, I dare say Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo tried to bite far, far more than they could chew with this one. I mean, it's well known the game was delayed twice so... (Also there's still far more unused stuff I didn't cover here. The iceberg goes deep folks!)
  15. Since February is coming up, we are definitely getting a Valentine's Day banner soon since we got on one year after the launch of Fire Emblem Heroes. I pretty much know that we currently had three Valentine's Day banners such as Elibe, Tellius, and Valentia got in through the years. So what continent and characters do you think they might show up for this year's Valentine's Day Banner? I would maybe pick the characters from Fódlan (Three Houses) or maybe Magvel (The Sacred Stones) instead as the possible 2021 Valentine's Day Banner: Here's my thoughts on the Fódlan side: Male Byleth and Edelgard Duo Hero (since Female Byleth did paired with Rhea in of the two Summer Banners from last year) Dimitri Claude Jeralt (Father) Yuri, Flayn, or Linhardt (As a Tempest Trial Hero) Here's my thoughts on the Magvel side: Eirika and Innes Duo Hero (since her brother, Emphriam had already paired with Lyon in The Sacred Stones Mercenraies Banner) Emphriam Fado (Father) Garcia or Franz Tana or Artur (As a Tempest Trial Hero) Edit: I forgot that all the three Valentine's Day Banners had fathers involved to join in.
  16. Since we aren't too sure if Gaiden would likely be the next Japan-only legacy Fire Emblem game is getting the official translation from Nintendo themselves since they are releasing Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light on this December with an unexpected translation trailer from Nintendo themselves that we thought it was impossible days ago and plus we already gotten a recent remake called Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the Nintendo 3DS recently since 2017. Since we definitely know Nintendo is going to use all the localized names in the remaining of the series like Caeda, Jagen, Altea etc. I know that every characters in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia had already gotten a localized name years ago, but we definitely know there's one character that was been excluded from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia that is Seazas. Seazas was the Gold Knight guard of the Rigel Gates that Berkut replaced him in that map in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and he was planned to appear in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia in that same map that Berkut was about to fight off The Deliverance from entering Rigel. Since we still have no evidence of what Seazas's localized name could have been other than a data mine. What kind of speculation localized name do you think Nintendo, Tree House, or 8-4 (depending on who was translating SD&TBOL) come up for Seazas incase if Nintendo had made plans on localizing Gaiden sometime after Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light English version gets released in the West to the Nintendo Switch?
  17. I didn't see a thread for this, so I figured I'd make one. Some people really don't like seasonal units, and I understand that. I think that, in some cases, though, seasonal units a great ways to highlight aspects of characters that you don't get to see in their games. I think it also gives the heroes a chance to kick by and try things not available in their home worlds. (Like Elincia and Micaiah going to the Hoshidan summer festival.) Sort of like going on vacation with Askr being the terminal through which they can access them. And since we're dealing in an alternate timeline tangle, I think it makes sense. But anyway, what sort of seasonal units would you like to see/do you think would be fitting? Any predictions on which characters might show up in upcoming seasonal events? This is a thread for talking about that! As for me, I was just thinking about how we're probably going to be getting another Halloween banner in October and started wondering which heroes would be featured. Two of the ones I thought would be good for this event were Cherche and Lute. Both of them find revenants cute, so I'd love to see them chatting it up about that, and the best place I can think of for that sort of conversation is in a Halloween event. Maybe they'd both have costumes based on revenants, though Jakob already did that. Of course, this isn't to say that they couldn't have different takes on the same basic theme. Maybe Alm in a Duma costume, with a weapon based on his Scendscale attack in reference to the achievement you unlock when you use it, "Duma Incarnate." Do you think he'd be made into a dragonstone user if that was the case, to give some variety and further the joke, or would he remain a sword unit? Maybe Cain would be dressed up as a minotaur in reference to his title as "The Bull?" If so, maybe he'd be a green infantry unit this time, wielding an axe. A seasonal Forging Bonds event would be cool, too, for extra character interaction, but it looks like it won't be coming up this time.
  18. I was thinking about it in my head but should the next fe foucs on a specific culture(s) or just carry on with a european medival setting. I would personally like and african based continent or maybe and iberean continent. Also i would like the next game whereever it takes place to link a previous world to it without the use of dlc ect. what would you like the setting to be?
  19. thanks to the original person who came up with the banner, and to @Maaka for updating it Celica our newest Legendary is Here, but in a week or so she'll be gone for 120 days (Anchoring April on her lonesome), meaning it's time to play our favourite game... "What's Coming Up Next?!" January is Mythic Hero - Altina was our last hero representing Astra. We currently have 2 Astras, 2 Animas, 2 Lights and 2 Darks, meaning anything goes. With Peony being a Light - maybe we're looking at a Dark Mythic Hero We've also got all 4 colours open so it could be anything. The Last time we had back to back colours was Eirika: Graceful Resolve and Hrid: Distant Counter Fodder. Icy Blade. So the Chances of it being back to back Green (even if it's a different thing (Mythic v Legendary) is rare, and I'd argue it's probably a colourless unit. (as Peony again is blue and that's back to back blue). What makes this month really interesting is - who the hell is going to be on the banner. I think it will be easier to go with who will not be on the banner Fallen Berkut Picnic Flora Summer Lilina Bride Tanith Groom Pent Summer Ursula That's everyone that was on the Special Heroes Banner (and Berkut has fallen into the "Green Olwen, Mist" boat of "we're 5*'s but not worthy to be on a Legendary Banner." category). I do believe that Double Special Hero Banner was Intsys's way to catch up on their seasonal backlog. The question is -with all Three Houses Lords being on December's banner and no seasonals does this mean that the Special Hero thing is a constant or do we expect seasonals to be on the banner again? Yes. (to both). I do expect to see Lukas and Wolt to be on the January banner, I do expect seasonals to be on future banners, but I also think they'll do the seasonal banner thing every few months. I don't see why they wouldn't. anyhoo. let's get down to business. Red: Legendary Eliwood is by himself. Bride Sigrun, Summer Helbindi are next for red if the hero isn't red. This clears out summer 1 We also could be looking at Female Byleth or Hubert if they don't do the double seasonal. Blue We've got two Legendaries holding down the spots in Lucina and Ephiriam Picnic Lukas should be here. if not we're looking at Petra Green Mythic Yune is here and Legend Hector hold down two of these spots. Wolt should be here - if not Hilda is anchoring the third spot. Colourless Leif makes his first return since his debut. Brave Camilla is the next slated to return and I feel this is where the New Mythic Hero will be. I know nothing about a lot of FE Lore - but i'm sure there are some Mythic'y Healer people out there (or dragons).
  20. I rewatched the E3 trailer and I happened upon a discussion in the comments about how the technical aspects of the game had changed (Mercedes' hair color, gambit animation, Edelgard's VA, the Monastery, etc.) but what really interests me is the story changes. Someone mentioned that the lyrics in Edge of Dawn had changed from "born as time betrays" to "knowing time betrays". And of course, the most blatant difference, that ending when Edelgard says "I will return here some day, my teacher. Promise me...that you won't forget me." is nowhere in the released ver. Any ideas?
  21. Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else, but here goes. So from what we have heard from those reviewers who have the game, only one character can be a dancer and they were pretty sure the main character (Byleth) can not be said dancer. Just generally, Fire Emblem is careful not to give you more than one dancer to prevent shenanigans (even if they couldn’t dance for each other like in Heroes). Where else have have we seen dancing in this game? The school ball, as briefly seen in the trailer and the extended cutscene more recently put out on Youtube. Then there has to be a way of determining who gets to be the dancer which the protagonist, a teacher, cannot take part in. Also if dancer was a regular advanced class, which are apparently only available post-timeskip, I doubt the reviewers would have been able to talk about it. So so my guess is that the dancer will basically be the prom king/queen. Perhaps this is awarded to the character with the highest charm (nominally attracting the votes of students) or perhaps Byleth, as a disinterested teacher, is called to award the title of best dancer (seems more likely). What do others think of this theory?
  22. All speculation here, but any info released or leaked is fair game, so beware spoilers. So now that we all know there will be a time skip as all the graduates go back to their homelands. What I haven’t seen much of is what our main character is going to be doing during those 5 years. That got me thinking. I see see a couple possibilities. 1) With the house leader - The first is that he goes back with the primary lord of the house he chose. This seems to be the most likely to me. The interesting question is why. Do they offer him a better deal to serve as their chief tactician rather than his poor overworked and under appreciated teaching job/glorified babysitting (maybe they have dental?). Perhaps he wants to quit because he has become disillusioned with the church? Perhaps he is fired/exiled/forced to flee and seek asylum (perhaps his relation to Nemesis is discovered or he screws something up?). Maybe he just doesn’t want to give up the bonds and friendships he has made (yawn). Maybe he is disheartened by something like his father coming down with a sudden terminal case of anime parent syndrome and just wants a change of scenery/pace? 2) At Garreg Mach Monastery - The second is that he stays at the monastery. He could remain a teacher (although it would be weird not to see 5 years worth of classes who could have been characters). Maybe he stays on to help with Hanneman’s crest research? Or perhaps he gets a position with the Knights of Seiros and basically spends 5 years on guard duty. Perhaps rising tensions mean the academy is on hiatus for teaching students and Byleth does some other job for them (Cook? Fishing instructor? Choir leader? Saint Statue polisher? Weed cutter?). The monastery certainly has no shortage of odd jobs without the students to do all the work. 3) Sleeping - Thirdly, he might be in some sort of stasis/hibernation/outrealm, perhaps courtesy of the Church or Sothis (or Nemesis or the night stalkers or whatever they are called, etc.) Whether to imprison him or heal/hide/protect him (think Breath if the Wild Link). Or perhaps due to time travel powers “misfiring”. 4) Elsewhere messing around - Finally he might spend his time elsewhere on Fodhlan. Perhaps just wandering, perhaps on the run or in hiding after being expelled/exiled from the academy, or perhaps leading his father’s mercenary band if something were to happen to the current leader (Ike parallels - Byleth could basically just check out a few years fighting bandits and pirates while the political situation escalates out of hand). Maybe serving as a foot soldier in an indecisive/long-running/low intensity conflict where not much happens? Or perhaps becoming a knight of vengeance hunting down brigands operating without a licence. Well these are are just some theories to start the discussion. What do all of you think is most likely?
  23. Now that we know that we have combat arts like Knight Kneeler and Helm Splitter (effective combat arts), It will become less likely to have a Horseslayer or a Hammer. However, in addition to Training, Iron, Steel and Silver, I believe we're still gonna have Brave and Killer weapons. With the weight mechanic returning, do you think heavy weapons (Blade, Great-lance, Poleaxe) would return?
  24. So with the exciting announcement of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 at the VGAs, bringing this franchise out of an almost 10 year slumber, I thought it would be fun to discuss the possibilities of this game. Which known characters are you excited to use? Which not-currently-revealed characters do you want to be playable? Which locations do you hope will appear as missions? Which villains are you excited to fight? Are there any Nintendo characters that you would like to see crossover?
  25. So with the latest Famitsu article we can pretty much conclude the list of crests our main characters have. We also know a fair bit about their (crests') connection to history. The confirmed crests are: Saint group: Crest of Seiros, Crest of Cichol, Crest of , Crest of Indech and Crest of Cethlenn. We also have a mention of Divine Macuil, the crest of whom is probably the one on the right of the Crest of Chichol if we are looking ate the mural. The main reason why i think that is her(?) crest is because statues shown in the article have weapons with a fair resemblance to their crest image (Chichol is actually is the most obvious one) and Macuil is holding a sword which hilt might actually be an inspiration for the crest design (also all saint crests so far have been based at the top of the mural). 10 Elites group: Crest of Dominique, Flardarius, Daphnyll, Blaidydd, Gloucester, Goneril, Gautier, Charon, Riegan and Lamine. And that is 15 crest confirmed. But we have 21 on the mural excluding the crest of Flames Byleth has (since it is in the middle and covered). That leaves us with 5 (the crest of ?Hraesveleg? is not confirmed but we know of revealed bearer and relic weapon) crests of unknown allegiance. All of them are either damaged (Marianne's crest) or damaged on the basic mural. Below is the mural with red saint crests yellow/blue elite crests and purple other crests. Which kinda led me to a little speculative theory which has several main points: 1) So we know crests originated from a certain high being. This certain high being is not depicted ANYWHERE and nobody worships it, even tho crests are deemed as very important and powerful. this is very much weird. That leads to the second point. 2) Either saints (which i see as more likely) led by Seiros or somebody else had a falling out with the high being which led to a wide conflict. My ideas include: imbalance of power (this idea is based upon the fact that Byleth's crest is placed in the middle of a mural, which indicates it is the most important . So maybe Nemesis, the previous know bearer? of Crest of Flames held too much power so divines got jealous or smth.), disagreement between policies (maybe saints wanted to worship high being and SET UP A CHURCH, but as the main representative Nemesis refused) or corruption (in this one everything gos well until Nemesis gets smhow corrupted by his crest and starts rampaging so Saints have to stop him). 3)Since Nemesis lost the war all infromation about high being was restricted and people maybe forgot and started instead worshiping Seiros and 4 of her companions as saints. That may explain the 1-st point i made. 4)I think that maybe 6 people initially joined Nemesis in his "Liberation" (thus 6 damaged crests on the mural), maybe 10 greats remained neutral or joined Divines. Main thoughts here are: Bearer of ?Hraesveleg? crest may have betrayed Nemesis, but to keep him in check/reinforce friendship/maybe he fell in love, he(who knows) had to marry Seiros and thus Adrestian Empire was formed. Thats why this crest is not completely obscured on the mural but it is not really mentioned (smth like shame bearers of this crests hold). Night crawlers are either companions of Nemesis or their descendants who want to ressurect the Liberation King (who knows the might actually succeed with the hands of ?Nemesis? bursting out of the coffin in one of the videos). That might explain their hate for Church of Seiros and mysterious powers (they might also be corrupted crest bearers). Thats basically it or the theory so tell me what you think plz. P.S I'm bad at image stuff so this mural edit is made in paint and is BAD. P.S.2. English is not my first but i tried my best.
