  1. Anybody able to help me out here? If you know a good place to find the single sheet for Ross' portrait from fe8, I'm gonna use it to practice with and I know there are sheets that carry all of the seperate portrait frames, but I have no idea what they're called.
  2. Whenever I have to include a character in a flashback scene, I can never figure out a good way to change the sprite's palette colors. It has this sort of filter over it (like sepia?), but I can't get it to look right, even when applying a sepia filter. Does anyone know an easy way to get the colors for a portrait you wanted in a flashback scene? It would be easy if the portraits had the same color palette as the characters they're replacing, but I don't always have that luxury. Sorry for potato quality picture.

    Help Needed

Calling all spriters & sound designers! There have recently been a chain of supposed leaks about the upcoming 16th Fire Emblem game (Found here: ) The legitimacy of these leaks are questionable at best, so I thought it could become a fangame, I however, am not particularly good at spriting, and I know nothing about sound design. So I require help in those departments. The game will be developed on FEXP.
  4. Cannot figure out why this error is appearing and ill link screenshots of each layer and its properties and if anyone can figure this out you'll be a lifesaver, thanks!
  5. I am extremely unfamiliar with any sort of graphics-related hacking beyond simple palette swaps, so apologies if I do not provide enough information to work with. Basically, I would like to have an additional animation sequence for the Pupil sprite (Ewan) which is used for activating a Staff-class weapon. This would use the same progression of frames as the class's normal casting animation sequence, except that a vertically-oriented Staff graphic would float in front of the Pupil (visually reminiscent of the way this is handled with the Druid class). In fact, said Staff graphic would probably just be copied from the Druid, though it would probably need to be re-pixeled to properly inherit the Pupil's sprite palette. My main problems would be inserting this new sequence into the ROM, getting it pointered so that it played whenever the Pupil used an appropriate Staff, and timing the sequence so that it terminates at the correct moment after the attendant spell animation is finished playing. I'd also have a hard time getting the staff to 'float' convincingly from frame to frame, but that's minor compared to the other listed issues. I'm comfortable with using Nightmare and am quite willing to use other utilities, but might there be a pre-made sprite sequence that addresses something this specific, or an easier way to insert and pointer the result? If not, what are some tutorials you would recommend that might help me in trying this out? Thank you very much for any assistance provided in advance.
  6. Hi guys, I'm new to the Forums here, but I've been perusing the website for a few years now. I decided I wanted to sign up and show off some custom sprite work I've done (lots of splicing with some re-drawing), to see what you guys think. Any feedback is appreciated. I'll list off character classes with each image I post. Pegasus Knights: Fighters: Mages: Trio of Siblings (Wyvern Rider, Cavalier & Soldier respectively): A set of twins (Myrmidon Duo): Swordmaster: Any and all feedback is much appreciated! Thank you! Also, note, please do not use these without consent. If you want to use sprites of mine, feel free to contact me or post in here and I'll be more than willing to do commissioned work.
  7. I need help with custom animations. Can anyone make Mage Knight with Sword please? I would appreciate it if you have pre-made sprites and a pre-made script.
  8. Hello guys, again, like i said in my Concepts topic im trying to make a GBA Crossover, so i Want all the Final Bosses in The last Stage :3. But now im kind of lost. Sure, i have the sprites of Idoun and Fomortis, and even if im a total newbie to animation and coding i know i can make them work if i made them...Cause i just made a Working Lust(FMA) in FE!! LOL But here are some central cuestions. The sprites of Fomortis have a black background, and the ripper said that it was the same in the OAM Viewer. Yet, if you remember when you fight Fomortis the whole screen is black, and he is Huge. Well, I know perfectly that Fomortis uses backgounds as any other GBA FINAL BOSS and the Necrodracos and Mamkutes in FE6. Now, what would happen if i just make the animation and leave the black color intact, and by making the animation i mean using the huge sprites, like it was done with FE6 Mamkute(By the way is awesome, im planning on making a transforming FE7 version like the ones circleseverywhere did). If I leave the black color in transparent...Should i "Call" a black background? Can that be done by coding the animation? Or how do i use background comands for this issue? If i do not use transparent at all, would that make the black color apear above the char that is figthing Fomortis? if i dont use transparent would that overlap the other sprite? Or, if i Try to rip the script from FE8 would that help me? What happens if i just FEeditor import the head and arm? And i think that applies to Idoun as Well, she also uses background, and i dont now if Idoun had black background in the OAM Viewer What should i Do? Do i make the animation or do i just import it and wait for it to work well?? XD Or try to import anything like the backgrounds it uses? What would be easier? Im most say that i am bad At GBAGE If i can do it ill just relase it freeuse, by now im starting with the Necrodraco, wich of course when i relase it will be free-to-use
  9. So you wanna little fuck-face icon but can't sprite for shits an' giggles? Little piece of shit giving you so much hassle so you're resorting to using cropped faces like a two-bit bearded cunt? Your answer is nigh, look upon me peasants, and learn. The first two boxes are just converting FEXNA to FEGBA sizes, the second to third is just resizing by 50%. Last two boxes are the then cropped 32x32 minimug being cleaned up. (It's not perfect, but neither are you, stop being a bitch.) There you go, you're fucking done. Now get the fuck out.
  10. (The point of this is to get people to do a little more work on their splices' faces, so that they look less like the parts they're made of. You'd be surprised how just splicing another character's jaw onto a different face changes the look so much, so get to it.) What's that, every mug you make looks like Hector because you just can't get enough of those eyes that make your panties soak? Maybe you need a little of this an' a little of that, so that's why you're here an' I'm givin' you just the tip, so shut the fuck up and read. Now, when I splice I focus on faces first, so let's get erase everything we don't need. Normally I erase the hair as well, but you're a bunch of losers and this is a quick fix so calm the fuck down and deal. Get rid of that extra space too, there are kids in Africa dying without you wasting all that space. Now, generally the more parts you have, the better, but because I want to nail some points home I'm only going to be using the two mostly known and used mugs from FE7, so here we go. What I've done here is copy Hectors face from the middle of the nose down and just short of Hector's ear onto Eli's face. After that I thinned the nose down to make it fit better with the angle and Eli's thin nose bridge. If you look at Eli's face, his eye's in particular you'll see they're on the same horizontal level unlike Hector's, which are tilted to match the angling of the face, so I brought up the bottom of Eli's far eye by one pixel, then lowered his closer eye by the same and also brought up the bottom line by one pixel to make them smaller. Now let's take away the hair. With my edits he looks less like his parts, but you can still see the Eliwood in his eyes and the handsome jaw of Mr Hector, so what we're going to do next is try and remove a little bit more of that resemblance. Scratching in the top of the ear and basing it on Hector's, adding Markus' forehead, fringe and eyebrows, Lloyd's eyes and Gietz' mouth combine to give the face more of a "Less Hectiwood" look. Now, the easiest way to identify faces is to read the facial triangle, simply, imagine an upside down triangle from the two eyes down to the nose and mouth, it's what lends most to people looking alike. You can see our new sprite has completely different eyes, but his nose is slim like Eliwood's but has Hector's shaping making it hard to identify it's source. And there we have it, now go and splice some better mugs you cunts. Done, now I'm going to go masturbate.
  11. Is there a program for making/editing portraits? And for making sprites
  12. Hey, all. Work on the final check-through of my other project is still ongoing, so in the meantime, allow me to show off some of the other things I've done when I've had enough of looking at dialogue and manipulating code for a while. First off, we have this: [spoiler=Animations hidden within] Looking at the ever-neglected cult classic class, I went and edited the melee-range animations for the GBA Soldier. So now you can have smoother frames and witness an infantryman's impression of a marching band drum major/majorette...except it's much more lethal. The frames for throwing Javelins are still under construction. The lance-twirling comes from the original javelin-throwing frames, some of the leg positioning from other frames, and the *shing* effect was inspired by The Blind Archer's Halberdier v2. But other than that, everything else is either the original material or custom-made by yours truly. This set of animations has NOT been tested in or prepared for FEditor or any other sprite-based romhack tool. These are raw .gifs. I will update this thread when I feel I have something to show, so posts could be frequent, sporadic, or something in-between.
  13. I got bored one day and decided to try my hand at splicing. It was my first time doing something like this, so I just went off a tutorial on FEPlanet. Am I doing it right? A female thief and her sprite: And tactician Mark from FE7 (how I pictured him): I wouldn't mind creating my own FE game...too bad my creativity levels are low and I can't hack worth a damn.
  14. http://www.feplanet.net/sprites-tools-statsheet/cd11b59226a050b2b934464b076ede77 I recently created this character sheet. It has all of my stuff, like my stats, equipment, affinity, supports, etc. But it's missing one vital thing: The portrait. Now, I'm no expert on spriting or anything, so I don't know the first thing about even the basics of it. So I might need some help... or preferably, someone to do it for me (I don't want to have to learn all about it just to get one little portrait.) What I'm asking for is pretty simple; take this portrait here (http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Raigh?file=Rayingame.png). It looks a lot like me IRL. The problem is, I don't have green hair. Just brown hair. If someone could take that and give it brown hair and send it to me, that would be fantastic. Thank you all a bunch in advance, and if any further clarification is required, please PM me. Again, thanks in advance. (Oh, and this isn't required; just a little bonus thing, but if you feel like it, you could make the cloak black as well. The brown hair is all I need.)
