  1. Seth is crazy broken in Sacred Stones, like stupid nuts. Granted, all the early paladin/ advanced characters are kinda crazy, but Seth was just... In all of my three playthroughs of the game (so many I know) Seth has been the only character I could put in the front lines, surrounded by 10+ enemies, and he'd come out barely scratched. The other early advanced chars like Marcus and Frederick got nothin on Seth lmao
  2. Hi, I'm trying to make 4 magic weapons in TSS with Nightmare. They're supposed to hit res for their MT +1/2 str but my Neimi has 21 MT with 7 str on her 13 damage bow, and she hit Bazba for 13 damage on his throne with 5 def. I don't understand, since she hit a fighter before for 20 damage without terrain bonus. How am I supposed to deal with something that deals different damage in different situations? My 13 str lv 7 Gilliam has 27 MT because of that, while she should have 20-21, it's completely broken since I gave it in chapter 3 chests like the lightning sword in Gaiden/SOV and wanted it to work like Fates magic weapons with half strength being the equivalent of physical units' magic stat (then I'll have to halve the MT to get something not broken from the get go and for the whole game...).
  3. Even Sacred Stones is my fav game in the series, when you put all bias aside and look at it as a game in general, it's pretty meh to be honest. The story has one of the best villains in the series, Lyon, and other than the dual lord story, thats really all the game has going for it. The overall plot is kinda messy, but in a way where it still works but very oddly so. And may I mention that the game is EASY. Compared to FE 6 and 7, this game is a cakewalk and doesn't show any real signs of difficulty until really late chapters, where your team will be super buff anyways so it all cancels out pretty much. I beat this game four times and I can say, with certainty, that this is the best, worst Fire Emblem game.
  4. Hi, I'm new to forums so I hope this is in the right spot and stuff. Anyway, I'm just getting into FE8 modding and specifically the Battle Palette modding. I want to change the way a necromancer looks in battle and his sprite and all that. I've checked around google and I couldn't find anything so I figured that I could post a topic somewhere. Can anyone direct me to a Battle Palette Reference Nightmare Module that contains a battle palette for a necromancer? or does that not exist. Thanks :D
  5. I'll start this off with a message to the mods: If this isn't in the right place, apologies! I couldn't really locate a perfect spot, so I figured since this involved most games the "General" section was a safe bet! ^-^ I have all the games that would probably be a recommendation, so that is already a start. I seem to be having difficulty really starting and committing to a single game though. At first I wanted to play the games chronologically, but since I've been in Archenea (sp?) overload as of late I wanted to play with some new characters. Not that I'm opposed to playing New Mystery if that is the best choice. I'm pretty open to any title, and as the topic name says: not even Thracia, Xavier, and some guy named Cyrus who I'm supposed to fear make me err from it. Games that are challenging make me want to stay and see it through a lot more, and coupled with Fire Emblems' permadeath feature that makes me care about the characters a lot more on top of that. That being said, if Sacred Stones - which I know from a second hand experience is the most "watered down" in terms of the older games' difficulty - would be a better choice, that's also fine. I'm not perfect, I may wipe or lose a chapter last minute on an easy setting, but I'm always fine with finding a better strategy. Standalone titles being axed first is also a fine notion. I'd prefer to save the Tellius games for a bit later, as my "Wii" needs to be gotten up to a more passable speed before I can enjoyably play those two. Basically, I can't choose! They all seem like fun, interesting titles to me. Like seriously, I'm so glad I picked up Birthright and Awakening, which led to Echoes, then Warriors, and now all of these wonderful gems. It's nice to have that "in love" type of enthusiasm for a whole series again. ^-^ So yeah, any suggestions or opinions on why "X game is the best" are welcome. I want to hear 'em all. Danke!
  6. I was bored so I made a support planning sheet for FE8. It automatically correlates data to duplicate cells (ie Rennac/Dozla to Dozla/Rennac), so you should only edit what's above the black boxes. It also sums the values of each row on the right side so you can make sure no unit has more than 5 support conversations planned. I'll link the version in my google drive, so you'll have to save a copy to your own before you can edit. Doesn't support the "A B C" system that FE uses, so just pretend 1 = C, 2 = B, 3 = A. Hope it's of some use to someone. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15_NpGXOYhPkKw6-vpBJNJQVdIdOEE85fdnxQj1R3K8s/edit?usp=sharing
  7. Because noone's ever done one of these before... Rules: -All of the growth rates for the player controlled units are set to 0%. -All of the characters will be recruited. -I will be going on Ephraim route (another shocker). -I will attempt (key word there) to achieve the lowest turncounts possible given those constraints. I'll probably edit the OP later on to include other things of importance. Probably. Prologue- 1/1 turn Chapter 1- 3/4 turns One can only hope that the later chapters will be more interesting to watch.
  8. I was going to do a female-only run but that's been done before and it was done quite recently iirc, and about 2/3 of the cast of male, so I decided on a facial-hair only run! We need better ideas I was considering using the twins because plot and Ephraim's critical animation but I'm not sure I'll start on this as soon as possible Index! [spoiler=Prologue] Facial hair demands no less This place reminds me of Australia Vigarde sounds like a cool guy. He has fantastic facial hair too You better not die. The world would lose an amazing goatee The plot gets decided here. C'mon Seth! Dammit Seth! Time to run away Oh look we were followed. Frail Princess, hold the line! Dude I doubt it. It's the prologue and he's the Oifrey Needless to say he died. Time to run some more! [spoiler=Chapter 1: Escape!] Oh crap he has facial hair we're screwed And our escapees have found more trouble. Good job I don't remember any of this And now we wait; for next turn... WE GET BEARD You hair-less soldiers have nothin' on Gilliam GIVE WALL MORE WALLING CAPABILITIES I mistimed this, but Gilliam missed. Fortunately so did the soldier DAMMIT FRANZ WALL DAMN YOU I thought this was a good position for Franz As you can see, it wasn't Oh hell yeah. The beard is too strong Not bad at all I have a feeling this could end up going south real quick THE LANCES HAVE TOUCHED Oh no reinforcements! Maybe I shouldn't have had the cursor on Eirika GILLIAM WALL Didn't catch his last level up. It was HP, speed and luck. Speed is speed so eh YES GILLIAM! BEARD IS BETTER THAN MOUSTACHE NO GOATEE DIED THE BOULDER! [spoiler=Chapter 2: The Protected] Beard goes that way. Moustache follows him HOLY CRAP IT'S WOLVERINE Lessgo Vanessa rescue I don't see how this could go wrong. Nope Ally Garcia missed without even moving I can't remember why I took this. Maybe because the enemy's glowing? Dat tactical rescue chain Uhhh no you're not The only reason why your son is alive right now is because I need him to recruit you PROTECT BOULDER YES BEARD Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Because Garcia apparently can't hit anything Moulder is now forced to take one for the team dammit Time to do a tactical sort-of retreat. Don't make me laugh kid Yay flashbacks And then they had sex Seriously though, apparently her bracelet is now gone and Seth now wants to get it. Ughh... [spoiler=Chapter 3: The Bandits of Borgo] Your country's screwed up man THE TREE IS SPEAKING TO ME! I didn't notice this at the time but Seth is clearly doing Eirika right now Nope. Don't care I don't see how this is my problem DAMMIT MY SHIPPING SIDE IS GETTING THE BETTER OF ME. OFF WE GO. I forgot to mention that Colm is the one who donkey punched Eirika in the last chapter Nope. When you're about 90 and you have that one strand of hair on your chin then maybe Forgot to take a picture of the start of the map. Garcia actually hit something I'd do this, but then I won't be able to get free loot ARMY MOVE DAMMIT GARCIA Best relationship ever It's strength. I'll take it Dafuq First double of the playlog.
