  1. Now, I would prefer we take this to a discord, where it seems easier to organize it. But I dunno if that's allowed or not. [spoiler=FE8, aka the one living in fear of seth] Drafting: 1. This draft is for 4 players. 2. Eirika/Ephraim, Orson, Tethys, and Myrrh are free for all to use. 3. Seth is banned from all use. 4. The game will be played on Normal Mode. Rules: 1. Undrafted units may recruit characters, rescue undrafted units and NPCs, trade, visit Shops and Armories and dig up items in the desert. 2. Undrafted units may not do anything not listed above, including but not limited to meatshielding, building Supports, and opening Doors or Chests. 3. Map shopping is allowed. 4. Skirmishes/use of the Tower or Ruins is disallowed. Skirmishes that are blocking your path may be activated and immediately fled from. 5. Defend chapters count the last played Player Phase for turns if the timer is waited out. 6. Amelia and Ewan may be brought to level 10 of their Tier 0 class in Tower. All items gained from this must be tossed. Penalties: 1. Undrafted units have a 4 turn penalty, per unit per chapter. 2. Seth has a special 8 turn penalty per chapter. Teams: (names go here) [spoiler=units remaining] Franz Gilliam Vanessa Moulder Ross Garcia Neimi Colm Artur Lute Natasha Joshua Forde Kyle Tana Amelia Innes Gerik Marisa L'Arachel Dozla Saleh Ewan Cormag Rennac Duessel Knoll Syrene
  2. Hello there, drafts seem to be dead in this forum but i'll try anyway. I have only taken part in a draft once, and it was a bit frustrating for me since i'm not neccessarily an LTC Player. So i wanted to try out a non-competitive, casual standard draft, for all people who maybe just want to try out characters they have never used, or alway wanted to take part in a draft but got turned off by LTC.Rules are as follows: Every Player gets 7 characters Eirika/Hard is played Eirika, Ephraim, Tethys, Orson and Colm are free for everyone. Kyle and Forde are also free for 5x and 8. Duessel and Knoll are free for 15. Seth may be used when he is force deployed, but is completely banned from ancient horrors onwards. All other units may only be deployed when they are drafted, free, forced, or have to recruit a character. Since this is not LTC, i can't impose a turncount penalty on using undrafted characters, so let's be nice and follow the rules, okay? Undrafted units may not fight, support or rescue drafted units (Vanessa rescuing Ross in Chapter 2 is an exception.) Map shopping is allowed, but secret shops, arena, tower of valni and melkaen coast are banned and skirmishes must be immediately fled from. Updates should be submitted regularly, with a summary and general strategy of the chapter. Screenshots are appreciated. Participants Mrminus (Vanessa, Forde, Garcia, Gerik, Saleh, Marisa, Myrrh) eclipse (Franz, Amelia, Natasha, Knoll, Duessel, Neimi, Ewan) Lunarly (Tana, Kyle, Artur, Ross, Joshua, Dozla, L'arachel) Fuzzlekins (Moulder, Cormag, Gilliam, Lute, Innes, Syrene, Rennac) Undrafted Units:
  3. Hey, i'm having a lot of trouble with chapter 14 on the ephraim route. I have only played Eirika's route before, so i went into chapter 14 (Father and son) blind. I saved on the battle preperations screen, and i haven't bought any restore staves. I'm sure you can see the problem there. With 2 sleep and 2 berserk staves and i think theres also a silence staff somewhere, i have no idea how i'm supposed to do this, at least when recruiting Rennac. Any tips?
  4. Hi, Today I came with an idea to balance weapons. I was wondering if anyone would enjoy a FE 8 mod with swords draining hp, 1 range axes ignoring def, and what you would give to lances and bows. The idea is that most sword users aren't very tanky but very fast. If they could drain hp, be they tanky or not, they would be much more usable and wouldn't need access to 1-2 range weapons to be useful. Fast units would drain 2x per fight but take damage if they don't dodge, while slow units would heal back some damage but only once per fight. I intend on balancing the classes and making the ennemies more of what they should be (like in Awakening I guess, they fit much more their roles than in TSS IMHO, especially knights, axemen and mages/dark mages). Maybe I could also give 15 or 20 weight to 1-2 range physical weapons so you only use them situationally (if I give them a speed penalty it would affect more the already slow units than the fast ones, + negative stats tend to bug and show max stat instead so it's the opposite of what I want). I'll try to give like 30 weight to see if it's possible so general Gilliam is as fast as Paladin Franz with a javelin (0-5 spd hoho). Would it be funny to play? Would axes having a real utility make you use axemen? What effects should I give to lances, bows, magic types? It's up to you, make your game from what I suggest and tell me if something would be funnier than what I wrote.
  5. Hello Serenesforest, and welcome to Rex Glacies’ first (of sorts; depending on what is being referred to as “first”) playthrough of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones! The Sacred Stones is, I believe, well liked in the fandom; it is largely regarded as one of the better stories in the series, and hails one of the most tragic and well rounded villains in Fire Emblem. My experience with it is also kinda unique. After finishing Awakening a couple of years ago, I wanted to know more about Fire Emblem, which led me to watch a walkthrough of The Sacred Stones. Fairly recently as well, I emulated the game on my computer, but I only got so far before the “legally ambiguous” nature of the emulator caught up with me, and I deleted it (I also got stuck, and my computer was slow). So, what that means is that this isn’t a blind playthough - I know most of what will happen. However, I will still try to keep things spoiler free as I play through the story. I have been debating as to whether I should do a playthrough of this game or Shadows of Valentia. I decided on this one because I know this game better, chapters might be easier to organize than Shadows of Valentia’s “Acts,” and, since this is on the Wii U, I’ll be able to take more pictures. I also got Sacred Stones as a My Nintendo discount and don't yet have Shadows of Valentia. Also of note: this is the first time I’ve done a playthrough like this, so feedback, criticism, and suggestions are all welcome and encouraged. Anyway, enough backstory! To the game itself! ... Next post!
  6. I haven't played the Sacred Stones but I've heard plenty about Valter and going by what I've heard he sounds like a very similar character to Hans.
