Each debate involves the same characters, for example if it's Jill vs. Oscar, we would have a FE9 Jill vs. FE9 Oscar debate, then a FE10 Jill vs FE10 Oscar debate. Each debate is judged seperately, with 3 votes per debate. If it's tied 3-3, a final judge can vote on the FE10 debate to break the tie. What about the FE9 debate? It's kinda unfair on the better person on the FE9 debate, as if person A was better in the FE9 debate than Person B, but Person B was better than Person A in the FE10 debate, Person B would win. Is that fair? Giving more weight to one than another? What happens if person A specialises in FE9 and not FE10 (Like me), should tehy get penalised for that? Mekkah Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 I don't like those because "relatively to the team" arguments are really annoying, and they pop up a total of three times (Oscar early, Oscar GM, Jill DB...and then there's Jill's betraying DB), where one time is usually enough to fill 5 pages in the tier list topic. Mekkah Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 FE4 doesn't make a very good debating game anyway, given that there's so much favouritism available that can be given out to a single unit with no penalty that he ends up excelling at anything. For example, a unit can be somewhat mediocre with no favouritism, but just Shield Ring + Hero weapon turns them into a frontliner that ORKOs everything as long as they have Pursuit. It would be decided by the margin, IE if you won 3-0 on the FE9 debate and I won 2-1 in the FE10 debate, you would be the winner. The tiebreaker vote would be only when the votes themselves are 3-3. I guess if there were an issue sometimes the FE10 part could be done first, IDK. Jill vs. Oscar was just an example, there are a lot of matchups where the availability is a lot more even in FE10. However, I can try to collect some savestates for it. I know for a fact Former Guest already had a database or a group of savestates, but that fucker keeps disappearing and he probably wouldn't share it anyway. We probably want 8 people for a tourney, and I'm not sure FE5 will attract enough people.
