Bernadetta is better as an Assasin than an Archer, Sylvain is better as a Hero than a Cavalier, Lysethia is better as a Dark Knight than a Mage. It's better to just train her as a magic unit from the start since her spell list is pretty good and she does more magic damage than physical damage, unless she's wielding Luin.
