Here are TheEnd's translations for various Japanese hacks, in case his webhost ever goes down.

https://www.mediafire.com/?23vtj5uccnccsoa

They are current as of 10/18/2014

Note:

A few users have recently messaged me about some of the hacks in this thread, as well as other matters. I've also noticed that the Binary uploader seems to be out of commission.

I've been keeping an archive of all Fire Emblem-related romhacking files I've come across, so that future users will have a resource to reference in their own hacking endeavors, or to enjoy some hacks that were lost to time. If people here would like a reupload of my current archive, I'll put it up. They included everything on the Binary uploader since its first revision, English or other international fan hacks that I've come across, finished, in progress, and abandoned, various informational resources or other like files (mugshot sheets, weapon/item icon sheets, music files, tools).

I do not maintain the files within and so I do not know whether any of the files do not have permission to be distributed, or what their author's viewpoints are on whether others are free to use some of the files or resources I have. But if users here would appreciate the latest copy of my backup, I'll gladly upload it and share it. It is currently at around 630MB, with around 500 main files (most of these are .RARs of individual files, so the size and amount of files are actually quite larger). Some of these files may include copy-righted code of the original games, such as patches which restructure/modify how games operate (e.g. FE4 hacks which alters how skills work, but to not actually add in new content; if this be an issue, it extends to several hacks this forum currently discusses and makes available anyways) or are ROMs which are directly pre-patched, either because that was the latest version available, because the ROM offered something worth archiving that wouldn't be available in a patch, or because no patch was ever created. I would leave it to someone else to muddle through the hundreds of files to censor out this data, if a public distribution is desired, but limited, by this factor.

Next to that, I am still notified via email when I get a PM. I can distribute this large archive in private, via an email, if a user would like access to the archive, but Serenes Forest would not facilitate the access. Just leave an email notifying where you'd like a link sent to and I'll try to get it to you.

The earliest file added was on 12/23/2011, but includes files before this date internally. A few files are large compendiums that document ASM, event information, map information, unit information, and other such data for the older games that is not widely distributed or known by international fans. A majority of the files are in Japanese, some in Chinese, and a slightly larger section in English. One or two are in Spanish.

EDIT: Here is a thread about Fire Emblem TS, a fan hack that I may not have included in my archive. I just remembered it when explaining some of archive to another member; if memory serves, this hack is a little like the RE (Binary) hack mixed with Inflation, and it gets pretty difficult towards the end-game. It is a hack of FE4.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

old edits below

EDIT: If you aren't going to read through the thread, that's fine, but you need to know, if you want any patch, be sure to check for updates at the binary uploader or elsewhere! Some uploads are locked out once an updated version is uploaded. What's mentioned in this thread and elsewhere today may not be available tomorrow--but hopefully you have enough details to find what you're looking for on your own! If you can't find something, ask, and maybe some of us might know the answer you're looking for!

EDIT2: The febin uploader has since moved on to <http://ux.getuploader.com/FE3/> The newest versions of patches are being uploaded to this archive. If something you want isn't uploaded to the new site (like an older patch) you can download the patch archive from the newest uploader linked right before. It should be called something like '旧ロダ'

EDIT3: Here is a copy of the FE Girls hack with English translations for characters, items, and menu options! Apply it to a Japanese version of the game. Remember, this may not be the most recent revision of the game, but it is, as of this edit, the most recent which has English available for use. Also, note how to get by some of the game freezes/restarts you may find:

I just tried it and it doesn't freeze, it should reset the game. This is because the translation isn't all too perfect. The game doesn't handle it well and just restarts. Continously press start to skip the event and it will pass the part where it restarts. It should go into the text where Hayden and Tana normally start talking. Right after the castle appears, text is supposed to appear while on the map, and this is the problem. Just skip :)

I thought I'd put together a small compilation of things uploaded to the binary site, both for fans of the series and those interested in editing some of the games, especially seeing as many non-Japanese fans aren't likely to just know about these unless they already overheard about these from others. Sooooooo. Oh, and apply these to untranslated ROMs. Check out NicoNico for videos (nicovideo.jp). Always check the readmes if you're interested more about the hacks than I described.

Here's a number of hacks for Seisen--I'll state if they're for a different game if relative. I'm only really including nifty or "complete" ones, not addendum patches, like enabling new algorithms, RNGs, adjustments of skills, and the like.

FE4 ネールの系譜 Ver3.21
Genealogy of Neir

I think this is a finished hack, but I'm not sure. As it sounds, it follows holy blood Neir characters, starring Lex as the main Lord. Thracia graphics are everywhere: new weapon graphics, some new character animations, a number of new palettes--new enemies, modified skills. Pick it up if you're a fan of Seisen (FE4)--like most of these ^^

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0762.zip

ナーガの系譜ver2.89
Genealogy of Narga

Like the above, but I don't think it's finished. Prince Kurth is the main Lord, and there's new maps to play around in too. Lots of new enemies, I think this one had modified events starting up. Basically the Genealogy hacks are worth playing simply because they're more than simple edits.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0760.zip

アイラさんの系譜 Ver.1.71
Genealogy of Ayra

Ayra's the main Lord. Lots of Odo characters running around--Galzus! There's a complete playthrough on NicoNico through both generations, so I assume this is complete. Always check back at the main site to see if any updates were made--look for newer version releases. Pretty cool from what I played.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0755.zip

FE8_GIRLS 聖魔の光石糞改造
FE8 Girls

A hack of Seima that includes a bunch of ASM modifications, new maps, new classes, a cast of all-female characters from the GBA subseries. And new animations. Sort of like Will of Good and Evil (FEChina as later players have called it, as it was made by Chinese fans), but with less editing and more customness. Beware that this may be a beta, so keep an eye out for future releases.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0737.zip

FE4 トードの系譜~Another~ Ver1.30
Genealogy of Tordo

I think Tiltyu or Tinny is the main Lord. Same as the Genealogy hacks before this. Have fun--I think this one had map music switched around. Maybe it was a different one ._.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0723.zip

FE4 RM2.97用 改造パッチ
Seisen Remodeling Patch

I think this is the one where a bunch of the mugshots were redone in Thracia 776's style. It's likely in progress, and hopefully will include further modifications of graphics as time goes on. If not... well, this described hack is somewhere on their site <img src='http://serenesforest.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0710.zip

FE5 ブルーム v0.9.8c
FE5 Blume (?)

I couldn't get this to work on either the NP or ROM version of Thracia (the base game). I assume it's for Thracia, considering the name... but it could be anything. I don't remember what the readme said <img src='http://serenesforest.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emo13.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0694.zip

ファラのVer1.62今のところ最終Ver(のはず)です。
Genealogy of Fala

This is canceled as far as I can tell, sadly. Hopefully it may only be on ice for the moment. Either way, check it out--I don't remember how far it goes, but it's as nice a hack as any fan could ask for.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0669.zip

542氏が製作した聖戦用追加モーション
Additional Animations for Seisen (?)

I'm trying to go by memory, and I think this includes a bunch of graphical files I suppose are necessary for multiple-weapon animations across various classes. All can be opened with your graphic-editor of choice. I don't remember if there's a patch or instructions for inserting these graphics... but hey, if you're interested, you'll download.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0657.zip

聖魔の光石 盗み処理改造
FE8 Stealing Modification

It sounds like the stealing methods were changed for Seima (FE8). I think it might be related to the FE8 Girls hack. Listed under here for its nifty value, I suppose.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0604.zip

トラキア776(ROM版)の上限30にするパッチ
Thracia 776 caps raised to 30.

Like it sounds, raises caps to 30. Thracia is an awfully rushed game, and I think the all 20 was part of it. I'm more interested in seeing FalaFlame and the like restored accurately myself, especially as animation data is still in there... but meh.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0601.zip

FE3 紋章のビラク ver1.12
Monshou hack - Villuck (Biraku)

If memory serves, there's a hack that had replaced Marth with Biraku and made the story centric of him, or something. I'm thinking this is the one, though I couldn't get it to work for me--one version it crashed, the other had no changes. Don't know if either Book matters, but neither did anything for me.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0585.zip

FE3 音楽資料
Music modification for Monshou

It's just a test hack that replaces the intro tune with the flute playing from A Link to the Past. If you're interested in editing music for Monshou, a simple file comparison will give you the location of the relevant data without having to locate the data yourself. Though if you're really interested in it, you'll likely not be needing this with what you're wielding.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0542.zip

FE4インフレの系譜Ver0.6E
FE4 Inflation

I've heard good things about this, but I'm not sure what it is really. It's for Seisen. I think it's similar to the Binary hack. Nothing looked changed when I tried it though... Maybe you guys will have better luck. Let me know ^^

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0117.zip

NPCの戦闘をマップとリアルを切り替え可能化パッチ
"The battle of NPC the map and real are changed, the possible conversion patch"

I think this switches the animations in Seisen for NPCs. Specifically, they attack with battle animations on, rather than reverting to their overworld ones. Though I personally prefer the overworld ones, so I don't know what you're thinking downloading this >.> <.<

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0086.zip

マルス様の系譜 2007/03/31 DL
"Marth's Way Genealogy"

Replaces all characters from Seisen (well, important ones anyways, I think) with ones from Monshou, along with relevant adjustments of mugshots, graphics, and classes. Fun, but I'm not sure if it lasts for the entire game, or at least up to the second generation.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0006.zip

Tools

Seisen no Keifu Event "Editor"

This will run through your ROM and create a reference list of all events a chapter use. Consult the readme for more information, naturally. What you basically do is run the application (readme) and indicate what map you want, either beginning at '0' or '1.' I'm not sure if it works by hex or decimal addresses. In any case, a log is created defining at which addresses event code is located, along with comments describing each line's function. With some basic ingenuity and patience, you should be able to figure out the events enough to create your own custom ones.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0754.zip

FE4 MAP Editor ver0752

A map editor for Seisen <img src='http://serenesforest.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Supports palette modification, tileset switcing, and general editing of level data. Once you've completed your map save the BIN file and compress it with the included encoding program. Then go back to the editor and chose to overwrite the existing map--make sure you always make a back-up incase it crashes the game! There's also a number of other features in it too that I don't understand, some of it looks like event/unit information. I haven't had much of a chance to mess around with it myself.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0721.zip

FE3 Animation Editor もどき ver0.15
Animation editor for Monshou.

Duh. Allows you to edit/create battle animations for Monshou. There may be some decompression tools included, but I don't remember <img src='http://serenesforest.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emo13.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0433.zip

SFCのFE画像圧縮プログラム ver2.4
"The FE image compression program ver2.4 of SFC"

It sounded like it helps in inserting custom mugshots for the three SFC games (Monshou, Seisen, and Thracia). Pretty basic, though I couldn't get it to work last I tried.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0409.zip

FE3 MAP Editor ver0.65

I believe it's made by the same guy who did Seisen's. Though this version properly displays enemy locations in maps.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0181.zip

トラキア776 ROM Editor
Data editor for Thracia 776

Edits a bunch of data for Thracia 776, including the basics of enemy and ally data, weapon data, and the like.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0126.zip
http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0018.zip (an older or separate version?)

FE聖戦 ROM Editor
Seisen ROM Editor

Like the above, but for Seisen. There's also something to do with text included. I think when I first got this years ago on FESS, there was an optional English file that went along with it. Maybe I'll look around for it sometime, or someone who remembers will speak up ^^

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0049.zip

烈火の剣 ROM Editor
Rekka no Ken ROM Editor

Take a guess.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0020.zip

封印の剣 ROM Editor
Fuuin no Tsurugi ROM Editor

Take another.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0019.zip

聖魔の光石 ROM Editor
Seima no Kouseki ROM Editor

Whee.

http://febin.so.land.to/src/FE0017.zip

Important note: every time they release a new version of a hack, they delete the previous one.

About the hacks themselves:

Neir is finished, but still tweaked every now and then. For those who understand Japanese... a number of dialogues are spoofs.

Narga is somewhat far from finished. It stayed without updates for a while, but they've resumed working on it recently. Updates have been frequent as of late.

Fala was cancelled, indeed.

Tordo was officially finished; supposedly, the one in the file directory is the final version.

Inflation is what it sounds like; everything is inflated. As a reference, your 2nd gen characters are likely to have everything capped and 7-8 skills by endgame... just like your enemies.

EDIT: Oh, yeah... remodeling is 1st gen only at this point, as far I know. I got hopeless crashes when I tried to load 2nd gen saves with it.

Also, I believe I managed to get the Blume patch to work just fine with FE5 ROM version (J) and Zsnes.

I assume the "Seisen Remodeling Patch" is meant to be used for the RM2.97 patch. I don't know if you mentioned it, but I couldn't see it anywhere obvious.

The RM2.97 patch is better known as simply the "FE4 Binary patch" by most English fans.

That said, I never bothered to try it with that patch, since I'm lazy. So I dunno : P

As for the Blume patch, might it be a header issue? I seem to recall fiddling with the header to get it to work.

Actually not really; the old "Binary Patch" is still there. The one Celice linked isn't by any means complete, while the old "Binary" is.

Also, Narga has already been updated today; notice how the link in the first post is dead.

Oh okay. I just assumed because of the name and also because somebody ended up playing what seemed to be just a part of the full patch. However they never really mentioned what they did wrong, so it could have been anything.

I wonder if it's a better idea to re-upload the files? It would remove the chance of getting broken links, but then again if the link's broken it probably means you need to get the next update : o

Which reminds me, the old upload site died a long time ago, so there's no guarantee that the files on this upload site will always be there.

Uploading the most complete ones (like the Neir, Tordo and Blume patches) could be a good idea. However, the incomplete ones... not so much.

About the Blume patch, by the way...

・サイズ:4,194,816、CRC32:95E289DD のファイル(ROM版ヘッダあり)に当てて下さい。

 NP版は内部構成が違うので、恐らく不具合が出ます。

"Please apply to a file (ROM-type with a header) with a 4,194,816 size and CRC32:95E289DD. The inner parts of the NP version are different, so using it could have inconvenient results."

Some of those hacks have supplementary patches (which would, naturally, require hard-patching); for instance, the Blume patch has mini-patches swapping Fergus and Karin for Arthur and Fee, and Daisy and Laylea for Patty and Faval.

Oh, and random post.

I'm more interested in seeing FalaFlame and the like restored accurately myself, especially as animation data is still in there... but meh.

I know the Blume patch has a non-glitched (albeit soundless) Thorhammer.

It also has class caps implemented.

Maybe I should translate some readmes in order to force Vincent to put some of the mostly complete patches in the site.

I have some patches from the first uploader site that fixes the unfinished FE5 spell animations and also adds in Narga. The battle animations seem to work fine, but I'm not sure about the sound effects or map animations (I seem to recall the sound effects are present- except for Narga, but it might be how I inserted it or because the sound effects don't exist).

However I need to change my computer's language settings back to Japanese to look for them (and I'm kind of lazy DX).

Didn't translate changelog (long, and shit nobody cares abour if you don't intend to update it anyway), hacking notes and the like.

What do you say, Vincent?

Elfire also uses the Volcanon animation and it's soundless.

Huh.

There's Bolganon in that patch.

Damn, I might just have to add that patch...

Do you have any screenshots for it?

EDIT

In the overview, doping items are stat-boosting items. I think.

Also:

Weight compensation is through Str/20 instead of Build.

Is that really 20, or a 2? o__o

I'll try and translate the documentation of some of the most complete FE4 hacks as well, like Neir/Tordo/Ayra.

I know. Alphane's character has it.

I'm pretty sure it actually uses Elfire. Elfire itself was moved to an A rank tome instead of a C one.

Huh.

It reads "Bolganon", and it's A rank.

It uses Elfire's data. I viewed it through Nightmare.

Whatever replaced Volcanon in the data uses the Elfire animation and the Volcanon icon. It has 3 more power, but 20 less accuracy and 3 less weight. It also gives 10 def.

You can easily change name pointers around, so I think it's a bit pointless to talk about data slots. Unless your point is something else ^^

You can also change sprite graphics. They probably shifted the icon when adding in Narga and perhaps other items.

Basically, Nightmare isn't absolute for even slightly advanced hacks.

Vincent, bad news. It appears that most of those hacks have a "no secondary distribution" policy. The Blume patch had no such mention, but I've seen it in Neir and Tordo already...

Yes, it's in Elfire's slot. But it has Bolganon's name and animation. So...?

Would that mean that, if they were to put Mercurius in place of the Blagi Sword, it would still be the Blagi Sword? I don't think so.

I know, I know. But I don't read any Japanese so I just named this tome Elfire anyway.

Does that mean direct hosting, as we have with the "Binary" hack, or something like mine still allowed? 'Cause if the latter is alright, then there shouldn't be any issue with creating a page for the hacks regardless and then providing instruction as to how to obtain them :/

Do you know if the RM/binary patch has any such mention? The version I got was linked from another site and I don't think it had any documentation attached.

Since the one in the file directory has a readme attached, I'll translate it and see.

"No secondary distribution." Your guess is as good as mine.

Linking directly to the patches isn't a good idea, though, since they delete old versions when new ones are released. For instance, the Narga and Villuck patches were updated yesterday.

EDIT: Translated the old Binary's notes. Didn't find any "no distribution" message.

http://lensterknight.superbusnet.com/other...20RM%202.97.zip

As I've said a long time ago, this version is newer than the one posted in the site. There are a few relevant changes (no inheritance of broken weapons, Reserve bug fixed, different critical formula and leadership star system), so be careful when updating the hack page if you do.

As far as the original post goes, anyone interested has likely read through the rest of the thread and would realize to check the site on their own--having part of the title there is enough to get anyone interested to use their search function--as long as they don't suppose the file name will remain the same, and they wouldn't have to do anything more than copy the title and run with it :/
