I see it as a populated place where danger lurks in seemingly harmless forms. Like Arizona! (I heard wombats can maul yer ass...) On the plus side, Australians are depicted as badass survivalists. There is that. Aussie survivalist stereotype is just about as badass as the viking stereotype. And those really cool hats. HAT!
