~Information Regarding A Speedrun of FE8~

Recommended Posts

May I request answers for the following questions~? Besides this one, of course.

i) How long would it take for someone to finish FE8 with the minimum amount of grinding?

ii) In a playthrough of FE8 with minimum grinding, are there any items that are advised against missing out on? (These being items that you are not forced to get, such as weapons.)

iii) If one is hoping to go through FE8 in the shortest possible time, which route is the best to choose?

I haven't played this for such a long time (and my game deleted itself, natch) that, since my cousin wants to know these things, that I probably need a little bit of help answering.

I thank ye for your time~

Luckily, Fire Emblem 8 isn't that long, and fairly easy to complete.

This guy made it in 1 hour 37 minutes. XD

Yeah, but the guy used a lot of luck. Though the run was awesome.

1. Minimum time possible: see Roxas' post.

2. Usually, in speed runs you ignore the items unless they're on your way to victory. Though you might be able to beat the final chapter rather easily with Myrrh (well the final bosses anyways).

3. I think Eirika's route takes less longer.

EDIT: Yes, I do remember your username. XD

Ch9 Eir is a long rout

Ch10 Eir is a quick seize with fliers

Ch11 Eir is a long rout

Ch12 Eir is a long rout

Ch13 Eir is a quick bosskill

Ch14 Eir is a pretty long seize

Ch9 Eph is a very long seize

Ch10 Eph is a pretty long bosskill

Ch11 Eph is a pretty long rout

Ch12 Eph is a pretty long bosskill

Ch13 Eph is a long rout

Ch14 Eph is a pretty long seize

Ephraim's looks longer to me.

I recommend skipping out on pretty much every village, except maybe the Ch5 Armorslayer for some bosskills. All you need is Seth all the way, then some prepromotes will come in and help you out (Innes and Saleh on Eirika, Duessel on Ephraim, and there's also Cormag/Gerik). And in the end, raise Myrrh so she can do the final stretches.
