Looping you forever in their combo until your dead, which means if your never die then you will be in that combo forever, or at least until the persons arm hurts

Pardon me, but I haven't played this yet; what are infinites?

What Kiba said.

For a proper example in how this absolutely ruins a game...

Imagine being Jax there. How much fun was that for you?

It's quite a big reason Mortal Kombat started to die out from it's immediate shock value, as more and more infinites started to plague their games. Well, that and broken characters (LolNoobSaibot.).

On the subject of infinities, I believe that Garland has one, though this is the Japanese version. I believe that it works in the American version as well.

you do realize that he was fighting against a computer right?

He said it was also tested on humans. And in the American version.

Actually None of the characters are broken really, you just need to know how they play then its actually extremely easy to beat anyone.(unless your using a flat out slow character against someone such as squall or sephiroth)

I'm Exdeath, and I can block any attack from any angle, then counter you instantly with Delta Attack for close, or Almagest from far away.

I'm Cloud

I'm Sephiroth

and we have infinites.

Exdeath: Slowest character in the game and takes a lot of practice to get the timing down from what I've heard.

Cloud: Considered too slow and predictable. Constantly viewed as one of the worst characters.

Sephiroth: With the exception of his buffed Hell's Gate, his HP attacks are considered to have the most predictable and avoidable HP attacks.

Exdeath: Doesn't stop it from being the cheesiest ability in the game. Once you have it down, his speed means dick and you're basically invincible.

Cloud and Sephiroth: I don't care what you say, a frickin' infinite is a frickin' infinite. Once you're in it, GG.

Cecil is great. Air HP attack could use a little range.

Onion knight is a Major Baldo. He can equip the Tyrfing. XD

You can chain Searchlight (Brv attck) into Paladin Force giving PF huge range.

I already know.

NO ONE ASKED YOU

It still need a little range though.

those humans must have been playing with slow characters then, because I don't remember garland ever able to do that against me

Against a computer Garland or a human Garland? Because computers won't do that. Here, I'll take a section from an FAQ.

Ahh, the custom combos! There's nothing as satisfying as pulling a critical

one. They all evolve from a video released by a guy called SuperWave

(RoboDestroyer youtube acc) in which he chained an unlimited number of Round

Edges against the cloud AI. SuperWave, however, was not sure of the combo

being truly infinite, and after certain tests he concluded it was not.

After certain tests of my own, however, I demonstrated it IS. It's fully

inescapable as long as you do it right. Intrigued by the way the combo worked,

I kept on experimenting, and testing possible combinations with other attacks,

and got to the next conclusions:

To perform the "premade" combos, Garland (and many other characters) must

land one first blow (or number of blows) and after that part of the animation

ends, the player must press circle again to "continue" the natural combo.

Certain combos are bifurcate, and depend on the way/timing you press circle.

For example, you all know RT can chain into Twin Sword or a ground version of

Bardiche, home run style.

The interesting part is that, when you're supposed to hit circle the second

time to continue the combo, the opponent stays there stunned for a second,

"waiting" for you to keep on whacking him. This was a (pretty logical) measure

by the developers to give players enough time to chain their premade combos

naturally without having to spam much.

However, in Garland's case at least they overdid it. The stun time in certain

attacks is long and gives you enough time to do a Dodge Cancel (simply dodging

backwards or neutrally in the air) and continue the improvised combo with

another attack of your choice.

Anyways, I have tried the infinite, though only on computers. It works as long as I can keep it going.
