Allan's Aokage
In Chapter 12, Heimler (the Paladin with a face, who is not recruitable) has a Door Key (in the European version, at least) which is blacked out, as if it is unusable. But when Heimler first moves, the Door Key vanishes into the ether, without any signs of it having been used on an invisible door of some sort. Is there any reason for the Door Key to be there and to suddenly disappear like that? Despite the fact that Heimler has the Door Key below his drop-able Silver Axe, there's no chance of getting the Door Key instead if you use a Warp staff or something. Is this some oddity of the game design, or something else~?
Ike-Mike
The room Heimler's in is actually locked, so he uses the key to open his way to your army.
VincentASM
I think he's holding a special Door Key that can't be dropped (there's one in the game data at least), which is why it can appear below a droppable item. I don't know why they did that though. Maybe if the Door Key could be dropped, Heimler using it would disable the droppable item flag making his Silver Axe non-droppable? If I wasn't so lazy, I could test this by giving him a regular Door Key as his third item : P
_____
Well, you can kill thieves for more than one droppable item if they have them, so I don't think it would make a difference.
Zakaerys
Heimler's key is like the one you get at the beginning of Prologue 4. It cannot be dropped.
