Skyebell
Well, after a long and bumpy road, I've finally managed to get to Chapter 21. The problem is, I'm stuck on it and have been for awhile. So I'd like some advice on getting through the chapter. I'm taking 16 out of the 18 units, which means I have room for two extra. My team: Roy- Lord Lvl 19 HP: 36 Str: 12 Skl: 11 Spd: 15 Lck: 15 Def: 9 Res: 5 A Lillina C Wolt C Lance Comments:...>___> Roy is a very frustrating lord. Dieck- Hero Lvl. 9 HP: 52 Str: 23 Skl: 19 Spd: 18 Lck: 13 Def: 15 Res: 9 Lot C Rutger C Comments: Best attacker on my team. Great tank, too. :D Lugh- Sage Lvl. 12 HP: 37 Mag: 22 Skl: 22 Spd: 20 Lck: 16 Def: 7 Res: 13 No Supports Comments: The best magic user I have. Rutger- Swordsmaster Lvl. 6 HP: 45 Str: 13 Skl: 25 Spd: 23 Lck: 10 Def: 11 Res: 5 A Clarine C Dieck Comments: Dodge tank. Best myrmidon I've ever had, though. Dorothy- Sniper Lvl. 9 HP: 43 Str: 22 Skl: 24 Spd: 17 Lck: 8 Def: 8 Res: 11 A Saul C Clarine Comments: Best archer I've ever had, period. Dorothy owns. >D Saul- Bishop Lvl. 4 HP: 33 Mag: 16 Skl: 20 Spd: 17 Lck: 3 Def: 7 Res: 15 A Dorothy: Comments: Paired with Dorothy, he's pretty darn good. Decent enough to kill stuff, at least. Lilina- Sage Lvl. 8 HP: 37 Mag: 26 Skl: 14 Spd: 13 Lck: 19 Def: 5 Res: 14 A Roy C Astol Comments: Fragile, but still good. Great magic. Astol- Thief Lvl. 16 HP: 30 Str: 9 Skl: 9 Spd: 17 Lck: 12 Def: 7 Res: 5 A Igrene C Lilina Comments: He does things like shop, steal, open chests, and kill stragglers. And I just like him. XD Miledy- Dragon Lord Lvl. 1 HP: 44 Str: 17 Skl: 19 Spd: 16 Lck: 10 Def: 17 Res: 6 No Supports Comments: My flier that took forever to promote. >_>; Lance- Paladin Lvl. 5 HP: 42 Str: 16 Skl: 17 Spd: 24 Lck: 10 Def: 9 Res: 8 C Wolt C Roy Comments: And my paladin. Clarine- Valkyrie Lvl. 1 HP: 27 Mag: 11 Skl: 15 Spd: 22 Lck: 23 Def: 6 Res: 14 A Rutger C Dorothy Comments: Clarine + Rutger = Crits = Good. :) Dangit she took forever to promote though. Igrene- Sniper Lvl. 6 HP: 36 Str: 18 Skl: 18 Spd: 17 Lck: 12 Def: 11 Res: 10 A Astol Comments: What? I like snipers. >_> Plus, Sue was too low-leveled, Shin died, Wolt is bleh, and I didn't really want to use Klein. Plus, Astol's supports with Igrene are sweet. :3 Percival- Paladin Lvl. 8 HP: 43 Str: 17 Skl: 14 Spd: 19 Lck: 13 Def: 15 Res: 11 No Supports Comments: He's pretty good. :0 And I'm also planning on bringing Niime (staff utility), Fae (extra), and Merlinus (distraction if I need it) as placeholders, plus I get Yodel. So, what can I do to get out of this chapter? My main problem is all the wyvern reinforcements. Is there anyway to avoid triggering them? I'm considering adding Dayan into the mix, as an extra bow user might help. All of my possible placeholders are base level, minus Fae, who gained one level. Also, the only legendary weapon I have is Durandal. :/ So take that into account.
Dr. Tarrasque
Place Lugh on a mountain with Aircalibur to deal with Wyverns.
VincentASM
You can dodge the Wyvern reinforcements by using mounted units to rescue and carry your units pass these approximate areas. The bottom-right area triggers Gale's appearance, but you don't really need to see him. It's been a long time since I last played, so the areas might be a little off. PuffPuff
It is advisable to use Lilina with Forblaze to defeat the boss quickly. Clarine should be higher than this. You can just put her in the trees to clear out the Wyvern reinforcements. Vergil's advice works as well. Dieck can be a good help with a lighter axe like an Iron one. Skyebell
Thank you, everyone! That map should be useful, and now that I think about it, I should have been using the mountains in the first place. >_> Well, time to try once again. Camus The Dark Knight
It is advisable to use Lilina with Forblaze to defeat the boss quickly. Clarine should be higher than this. You can just put her in the trees to clear out the Wyvern reinforcements. Vergil's advice works as well. Dieck can be a good help with a lighter axe like an Iron one. Not really, more often then not Murdock will 1 shot her, looking at the stats, Lilina will survive a Murdock hit with 1 HP, or she will take a lethal hit if the Tomahawks MT is 14 (I think it's 13). Murdock has 12 speed, so Lilina will not double him. Lugh will deal less damage for 1 attack by a little bit, but he will double him dealing more damage per battle. @ The original poster ugh, I haven't played this in awhile, but let me give it a go... Make sure any unit that can use axes has one (Heroes, Paladins, etc.) If you are newer at the game and just want to beat the chapter, I recommend not attempting to rescue chain to clear the chapter slightly faster. I also recommend traveling in one group unless you are going for EXP. I also recommend going down the right side, it seems to be the shortest way, while having woods to take cover in. Roy should obviously avoid any fighting since almost every enemy uses a lance and since he sucks overall in general. He won't do much even if he did anyway. Deick is rather solid. With an axe, you can leave him out in the open and won't have to worry too much, same goes for Lance and Percival. The 3 of them should be "escorting" you casters to the boss area. Despite using swords, Rutger should dodge everything if he is in the woods, and dodge decently even on open ground. Lilina is fragile and should not tank the wyverns in the open, I recommend having her travel along forests while Roy travels, she will dodge pretty much any wyvern attack while in the woods with Roy in range, and will 1 shot them if you use Aircalibur. She will be a nice asset for quickly clearing the Mamkutes. I'm not sure how many Aircaliburs you have, but if you have a lot Clarine should also give one to here, actually, if Lilina can double (I don't remember how sucky the wyvern knights speed is), then she will be fine with just fire. Clarine will be dodge queen, so she could even last on open ground if you need be. Well, I haven't played for awhile, and I am still not sure about all your info, but if you still have trouble, send me a save and I'll check it out. Vykan12
I'd focus on killing the hit rates of the wyverns. For example, you could put Dieck on a forest with a killer axe and his supports just in range. That would give him >69 avo while the wyverns have ~80ish hit IIRC, so he'll have absolutely no trouble avoid tanking them. For someone like Rutger, use the lancereaver. With that many mages and snipers on your team, you could also lure a pack of wyverns in and pick them off on player phase using aircalibur + bows. For the boss, Rutger with an armorslayer will probably take care of business the fastest.
Priscilla
Also, the only legendary weapon I have is Durandal. :/ So take that into account. Sorry to interrupt, but that's really a shame... You need the legendary weapons to go past Chapter 22... I recommend you finish this playthrough and play again if you're up to it. Luftwaffe
Rutger strength screwed? wtf are you doing with snipers anyway? they suck in this game and their bonus against wyverns sucks because they get swarmed and killed. Just advance south keeping everyone together while using useless units like Douglas to absorb hits. Take as long as you like since you don't need to worry about getting Apocalypse in the next gaiden. PuffPuff
Then again, you can just solo the chapter with Lance and Perceival with any axe.
Mekkah
Just advance south keeping everyone together while using useless units like Douglas to absorb hits. Take as long as you like since you don't need to worry about getting Apocalypse in the next gaiden. What are you even saying? Apolaypse IS in the next gaiden, and if you take too long you miss it, which means he can't get the best ending. Odd as it sounds, I would recommend benching the Snipers, or at least Igrene (Dorothy makes Saul a lot tougher). While they can dispose of one enemy wyvern on player phase, they also require shields all around them on enemy phase or else they will get attacked, missing you opportunities to counter them. And you already need quite a bit of shielding because of Roy, Yodel, and then Lugh, Saul and Rutger aren't very durable on this map either. Definitely bench Astol. I'd recommend boxing in Roy and Yodel as much as possible, giving Roy the Lancereaver so they can't pick him off with Javelins. Use Clarine, Miledy, Lance, Dieck and perhaps bring Percival as well to shield people. Lugh works, but only when on terrain. Keep him equipped with Aircalibur at all times if you can. Lilina is the same but she has even less avo, however with that 26 mag she can likely ORKO Wyverns with Elfire or something...though 13 Spd doesn't sound very promising even if you're on Normal Mode. Basically, turtle your way to the end. I recommend going to the right, then south, which skips the Paladin wave. Or take Vincent's advice to dodge as many reinforcements as possible. When attacking a wave, focus on the more dangerous enemies first: Wyvern Lords, then the Riders with Killer Lances.
Luftwaffe
She says she only has Durandal so getting Apocalypse will be a waste.
