I have gotten asked about how to Hack RD.

This process is completly free, so its awesome.

(This is mostly for Items, Stats, Levels, Chapters, and things like that.)

First, you need an SD card. If you don't have one, you suck ass you need to get one.

Instructions:

"Using The Twilight Hack, Bannerbomb, Smash Stack, or Indiana Pwns.

Assuming that the Twilight Hack, Bannerbomb, Smash Stack, or Indiana Pwns is already setup on your Wii;

1.Download the HackMii Installer. [Link]

2.Expand the archive to find README.txt, wiiload and boot.elf or boot.dol

3.Place the boot.elf or boot.dol file in the root of your SD card.

4.Run the Twilight Hack, Bannerbomb, Smash Stack, or Indiana Pwns, and allow the installer to load.

5.Press 1 when given and continue installing things you want.

The installation should be automatic from this point on, and your Wii will reboot."

(Which you probably don't because you are reading this walkthrough)

(Search the name of the one you want to download. I recomend Bannerbomb, that is the one I used.)

YAY! You now have Homebrew set up on your Wii! (Throw a Party :D)

Now, you need Gecko OS. (This will also allow you to play Japanese Games on your English Wii.)

Direct Download Link

Instructions:

"Load boot.elf from Chain Loader. Insert any Wii Game and press reset. Enjoy your region free gaming. As of beta 5, Gecko OS works correctly with the Homebrew Channel.

GeckoOS includes the latest version of the Region Free app, which works with the Homebrew Channel. The latest version has increased compatibility with more games supported and issues running US games on PAL consoles fixed.

Note that while GeckoOS will enable the US Rock Band to load on a non-US console the guitars and drum set will not work (no controller ID lights lit). To load Rock Band try Menu Loader instead."

Attached is the Code Manager, this will allow you to use codes in Gecko.

It turns the list into a GCT, which is read by Gecko, and it attomaticly updates into the game.

I have included almost all of the RD Codes, I have left out some of the Character codes I do not like, (Ex. Nolan) so you want to go to Gecko Codes this will link you directly to the RD codes for America. (You will need to lookup the other versions on the site.

There are also two nightmare modules I know of that allow you to edit class attributes and Growth rates for characters...

However that involves the use of backups/USB Loader, so I won't get into that...

Yea, Although Growth rates don't matter much when you have maxed stats ;)

Jecht, there are codes for other games, so you might be able to download it by saying, All characters on SSBB, or something like that ;)

I might do this, and I already have some of this stuff because I put Brawl+ on my wii. I probably won't do this though because I don't own the RD game I've been playing. And they stopped making it.

You can use it to hack other games too. I put RD because this is a Fire Emblem Forum. o.o

I got homebrew and Gecko OS, and an RFEE01.GCT file where Volug is supposed to have SS strike. When Gecko OS runs the disk, it even claims the cheat codes are running. However, when I boot up any save file, the changes are nowhere to be found :(.

Around the bottom of those unit codes, I explain that these are my usual results of recruiting units one of by one normally, without recruiting anyone else(like Zelgius or something) on Normal Mode + 16x9 display.

Units are placed in the game's data in slots, units that don't appear right away like Sothe will probably appear 1 slot ahead of mine because of not enough enemies being killed around his appearance. There are cases like Micaiah, Edward and Leonardo who load after the bandits..since less bandits appear on Easy Mode they will appear on an earlier spot in data. Nolan however gets loaded before anything else on the map and always turns out as the first unit in memory unless you recruit Pugo. Units that you get at a base also get put in the earliest spot in data available, Volug being one of them.

Since you don't have WiiRd, I can't really tell you exactly where Volug is in your game data.. but you can find him by looking at units around Volug on that list and simply use the other values of the player-controlled data and add 1E8(hex) to it to put an SS Strike code for other spots and you'll most likely run into Volug's.

Example:

Make Meg Player-controlled [shadowX39]

048855E4 8066B830

048855E4 + 1E8 =

Make Meg(or maybe Volug in your data) have SS Strike:

048857CC 0000014B

The SS strike won't be visible to anyone but Laguz unless you give units the skill that allows them to gain strikes for use. (I haven't had the chance to add that skill value yet since I haven't tested it out myself..Wii's not with me)

Well, that's your best hope in finding Volug's spot in data.

Also, I noticed an email recently of a message on Youtube from you.. I didn't reply because I was probably in the middle of deleting all the messages that I've already replied to and yours must of been sent during it.. Sorry!

I have a few questions about this:

1. Is it possible to use this to put whatever skills you want on each character and pass the skill capacity with no problems?

2. I put the class modifiers, skill modifiers, and the lvl 19(or lvl 39 for laguz) with 99 exp code on each character so that all the beorc characters would be third tier (and the laguz would already be transform with formshift) with awesome skills in each skill slot(also the reason for my first question above). Just to be safe, when I was modifying these codes in the code manager I only checked the ones that involved characters from part 1 so that the 256 line limit wouldn't be reached. Weird thing was I used Goldie's wiisave file (which btw is super awesome thank you for that) and started from 1-4 and after using the stat boosters on all the available characters I decided to start the chapter and I saw that pretty much all the enemies on the right side of the map had stats, looks and skills of other characters (to be specific nailah, rafiel, jill, gatrie, stefan, and one of the tiger characters where the boss was). Also sometimes when I attack one of the glitched characters the game freezes. My question is: what did I do wrong and what should I be careful of so that this doesn't happen?

Thank you in advance if you can tell me and sorry this is so long by the way.

Oof... that sounds like a lot of work given that I'm trying to make a balance hack of the game. I ordered a USB Gecko, so I'll eventually be able to use Wiird.

Edit: Oh this is great. I just got this e-mail. "Hi the usb gecko's are discontinued. We will be removing that item from our website."

That sucks. :(

I gave the codes another try and they just don't seem to work at all. For example, I tried a 3-13 chapter select, a 300 item convoy, and a few other codes, but nothing came of it.

You did load it thorugh the Homebrew channel right? If you clicked on gecko in the homebrew channel, they should work.

(You do have the U Version of the game, right?)

Yes.

I live in Canada, but the game version is the same (NA).

Anyway, the hacking changes I need to make are pretty mild, maybe someone would be generous enough to do it for me.

Here I have a 3-E savestate, but it has Nolan and Laura as third tier, and all my other DB units are unarmed. I just need Nolan and Laura to be nerfed (probably just make them second tier would suffice), and all the remaining DB units to have a 1-2 range weapon. I also need a 3-12 save with third tier Jill, Tauroneo, and someone else (Nolan would work), as well as celerity, pass, and boots all available. Finally, a 3-13 save with a third tier Leo, and celerity + boots available, as this allows Leo to deadeye Ike as a 1 turn alternative to the Laura purge kill.

Update! In case you couldn't get Gecko to load, I uploaded my folder. :)

So if you got homebrew to work, here is gecko :)

(It goes in your "apps" folder, on your SD card.)

Gecko.zip - 843 Kb

(Its called new compressed (zipped) Folder. Just in case you were wondering.)
