Signature rules revised

The second one. I had my video enclosed in spoiler tags to keep the height of my signature down. Nonetheless, it was still removed. That's why I was asking if videos themselves were being banned altogether, since my signature as it stood did not appear to violate any of the rules due to spoiler-tag condensing.

It's more of a security issue than an aesthetics issue.

Links can be used to link to illegal content, pornographic content, viruses, or whatever other kind of malicious content/site/program. The less links that are allowed in signatures, the easier it is for us to catch such links.

But there's a little more to it: what do you need a maximum of more than 3 URLs for? I don't think anyone really needs that. And if you do, it's likely for advertising, which we can keep somewhat limited this way, too. Advertising is still allowed in signatures, there's just a limit as to how many sites you can advertise.

Actually I have an issue with the URL setting. As Crystal already mention, some people have about 6 Pokemon urls in their signatures, which are fine, and don't take up too much space. I see no reason as to why we can't allow a max of 6.

Hell I technically have seven, though you really can't tell just by looking.

GPX+ runs on IP Board 2.3.1 so I don't know if there's a mod for this or if you'd have to do it yourself, but they have a thing where if your signature extends below the end of the blue indicator image that they have on the left (theirs is 450px tall), it will be cut off in posts. Just an idea.

Mods made for IPB2 won't work with 3. And a good majority of the mods haven't been converted for 3 either.

Like if you have a signature that's 100px and the limit is 300px it doesn't have 200px of empty space, but if you have 400px it only shows the top 300px. Maybe look into seeing if it's been converted? I can ask what the mod name is.

I think it's worth looking into. If you can find out what it's called, that would be great.

Is it possible to make the sig space like a scroll box? That way it won't take up a lot of space on the page, and people can then use their sig space as they please, within reason of course.
