I think it's high time I use Sealen's Dragonshield, Dart seems to be taking huge beatings on a regular basis and is a little low on the Def of the HP/Def ratio, so he'll take that. Similarly Sain will gladly partake of Isadora's Angelic Robe to boost his low HP with good Def. Because I'm in the stat boosting mood, Hector might as well use Erk's Goddess Icon.

I'm starting to contemplate potential early promotion here for Sain and Bartre, but I think I'm going to see if I can hold off for another level or two each.

I'm guessing the second pool isn't starting until the first ends?

That might be a fair assumption, though there's probably no issue with holding two concurrently, it's just that nobody else so far seems to have expressed interest in a second pool.

Here's my current predicament: I either drop out or start again, again.

I've had a brand new laptop since the old one was fried when I drunkenly tipped something on it while it was powered on. Shitty luck on my part. Also, the amount of patience I have with myself to try to finish what I started is running thin. I will also have next to zero time over the Easter Holidays to do anything about this if I did decide to start again.

Sain promotes. As much as I'd have liked a Killer Lance, 20k and tactical inflexibility forbid it. Matthew caps out his growth potential, as skipping 28x and lack of member card means he doesn't get to promote. That said, he's still pretty rocking and been an important and valued member of my team, and will continue to be so.

I hate Uhai so much, the bulk of my time was figuring out if I could kill him immediately or if I'd have to let him out, wasting time I could have spent chipping at Darin because Hector can't live through Darin + Uhai double. I eventually stumbled on this inelegant solution.

Similarly, I spent quite a bit of time finding a strategy that worked for 1-turning the dragon without resorting to explicit RNG abuse, which is taboo here. Doing it ordinarily can be tricky. Doing it without Nils is kind of maddening.

This was an entertaining challenge. Dart wasn't really as useful as I'd hoped he'd be, but maybe he was just overshadowed by Sain, Heath, and Bartre. Pent and Louise delivered exactly when it counted. Don't let those small numbers of 'B's and 'W's fool you. Pent was brokenly useful and saved so many turns, and I didn't have to worry about protecting or levelling noncombatants in an already small roster to acquire it. I severely doubt Lucius would have been able to get up to A for the delicious Warping action, and Erk and Canas are right out. Louise pulled some pretty clutch Brave and Longbow action herself, and exploited that Pent support for crit where I needed it. Marcus never really fell behind too badly, though he would have been doubled by almost everyone in Final, which was very frustrating. Hector just barely escaped getting doubled by the dragon, I think this is the slowest one I've ever grown. Still, his strength stat stood and delivered.

Hmm, 179 total turns. That sounds like SSS material to me. :D

going into the final, but I wouldn't be surprised if Funds jumped up to 3 after. I also wouldn't be surprised if it stayed the same.

Well, every challenge has slight differences in rules, especially regarding non-drafted characters, whether gaidens are mandatory, etc. But I appreciate the praise nonetheless, and wish you luck on your own attempt!
