Chapter 18 - Pirate Ship

Notes: There are like 5 enemies in this level. It's so hard to achieve the Exp requirement while staying in the Tactics limit. But then again, I'm not worrying about Exp.

Rebecca and Raven got a ton of Exp from killing Zoldam. Matthew also stole a ton of stuff (2 Pure Waters and the Speedwing on Zoldam) which will help the Funds ranking.

Chapter 19 - The Dread Isle

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Matthew, Serra, Erk, Priscilla, Lyn, Kent, Sain, Florina, Raven, Canas, Dart (Turn 1), Fiora (Turn 3)

Notes: I swear to god that I'm not making this up. Hector is now 9/9 with Spd level ups (14 Spd at level 10). This is insane.

Sain is superior to Kent. He's got more Spd and Str and I'm getting a little sad. Oh well.

The mages are doing nicely. I'm probably going to promote Canas, Erk/Lucius/Wil and a healer. In return, I'm going to ditch Lyn on this run (decent stats but I'm worried about funds) along with 2/3 of my cavs and Oswin. Guy and Bartre will get promos and maybe Eliwood if he turns out alright. I'm still undecided on Peg Knights.

Hector, Lyn, Raven and Fiora took down Uhai. I hate the fact that he's one of the most dodge-happy bosses in the game and he also sits on a forest. But then again, Cog Lloyd isn't easy to hit either.

I figure I'm going to get Lyn to level 15+ ASAP along with Eliwood. I'm not worried about Hector as I can just feed him a bunch of Genesis kills to knock him high enough.

As for LynxFlo, they haven't been doing the same things. NLoC had the pair on either sides of the map. Port of Badon had Lyn sitting in front of pirates while Flo flew around to the villages. And 19 had them on opposite sides of the map (Flo dealing with Peg Knights while Lyn did a ton of damage to Uhai). So I haven't been able to support them yet.

I've gotten to 19xx but I have it on a separate save file. I'm worried about how to minimize the turn count. I'll work on that file for a while but if I feel scared about turns by the end of FFO, I'm going back to my 19x file and just heading to 20. I've always been under the idea that 19xx can literally make or break you when it comes to Tactics so I'm going to see what happens.

Your blessing of Hector is making the blessing on my Dieck look minor. The probability of Dieck capping speed by level 20/13 is apparently between 0.5% and 1.5%. Basically between 1 in 66 and 1 in 200. Without doing a mass of calculations myself I couldn't tell you any better so I just go off this:

But I can tell you that the average at level 10 is 8.2 and the standard deviation is listed as 1.4. 14 speed is then ~4.14 standard deviations above the average. You can look up a normal distribution if you want an approximate idea of what the chance is of getting that. Go with 13.5 though and look for the probability of getting "greater than" ~3.7857 above an average. It's very very low.

Well, in your case it's simple multiplication since you never missed. Lucky you. .35⁹ is your magic number. Multiply by 100 and stick a % sign after and you have your percent, though I'm sure you knew that already from your other posts.

Chapter 19x - Prisoner of Magic

Notes: Since I got Nils to level 7 in LHM, my goal was to unlock 19xx. Marcus got Guy's Killing Edge while Oswin wielded the spare Silver Lance (apparently he got A Lances in 17). Also gave Hector the Devil Axe just in case.

The chapter is pretty easy once Kishuana shows up. Most of the mages are screwed, Aion basically becomes worthless and a lot of stuff is pretty easy pickings.

Also, I want to know how the hell Wil got 3 and a bit levels in this chapter. I gave him some kills but 3 levels? What the hell?

Chapter 20 - Dragon's Gate

Notes: It pisses me off that Legault comes from the bottom right in Hector's mode and not the top left in Eliwood's story. And the Member's Card thief goes from right to left across the top. Which means that I can't go to the Secret Shop of my choice (buying a Killer Lance and Bow).

Hector FINALLY missed getting some Spd. My record is 10 levels in a row. Eliwood's looking quite good and everyone else is decent so far.

The problems are going to be 25 and 30. Crazed Beast usually takes me a long time to complete and I'm not sure if I'm going to give Hector the Boots.

Chapter 21 - New Resolve

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Bartre, Serra, Lyn, Kent, Wil, Florina, Lucius, Legault, Ninian (Turn 1)

Notes: I actually did this chapter once, realized that I had to get 13 levels in 3 chapters in order to get Geitz, swore to myself and redid it.

It's a rather easy chapter. Everyone moved forward while Florina grabbed all the western villages and went shopping. Hector, Eliwood and Lyn managed to get most of the kills, including Oleg. Oh and Legault stole the Hero Crest.

Chapter 22 - Kinship's Bond

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Marcus, Bartre, Priscilla, Lyn, Sain, Kent, Raven, Canas, Dart, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Isadora (Turn 1), Heath (Turn 2), Rath (Turn 4)

Notes: I don't give a crap what anyone says. This is probably the hardest chapter to complete on time in Hector's mode (or at least on Normal). 5 turns to kill Eubans who's sitting at the bottom right hand corner? That's fucking ridiculous.

Hector, Eliwood and Lyn basically got about 0 Exp. It's 5 freaking turns and they move slow. Plus I'm dealing with Reavers and the only Reaver weapon that I have is on Kent/Marcus to take out Eubans. Sitting Bartre or Dart in front of Knights is asking for death because the Monks also snipe them (Monks hold Divine, fuck them).

Kent, Sain and Marcus were key here. They rushed down to Eubans with Sain holding the Longsword and Kent/Marcus doubling up on the Lancereaver. Sain managed to kill Eubans on the back end of Turn 5 for the win.

Bartre's honestly going to suck this playthrough but he's definitely getting a promo (first time I've ever done this, to be honest, never gotten Karla before). Canas is decent, both my healers are turning out nicely (Prissy's getting exclusive access to the Physic to catch up to Serra's level) and Lyn's getting shafted on this run.

Notes: I've always hated deserts. And while this chapter is easier to complete in 9 turns than the last one was in 5, it's still really hard to keep Pent from killing one of the bosses. But then again, that's why the game gave us 3 fliers by this time. But I don't know how I'm going to get 7 levels in the next chapter for my lords.

Chapter 23x - Genesis

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Bartre, Guy, Priscilla, Lyn, Florina, Wil, Legault, Ninian, Hawkeye

Notes: I won't lie here. I fed dozens of kills to my 3 lords and just barely made the 50 level requirement. Eliwood scored with 3 levels while Hector and Lyn had 2 apiece. Also, Hector is now faster than Legault. Kinda sad.

Fast completion here. I gave Hawkeye the Devil Axe to OHKO the cracks and cleaned up the left side with Lyn. Eliwood and Hector tagteamed the other route with Bartre, Wil and Ninian providing the proper support. Wil got rid of Kishuana on Turn 8 and it took 2 more turns to get rid of all the enemies.

Chapter 24 - Four Fanged Offense (Linus)

Team: Hector, Bartre, Serra, Guy, Kent, Wil, Canas, Dart, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Heath, Geitz (Turn 3)

Notes: I think my core promoted team is going to be Bartre, Serra, Guy, Kent, Wil, Canas, Fiora and Eliwood. That's 80k on promotions which seems high but I spent the same amount last time (Hector, Lyn, Raven, Rath, Florina and Lowen) so I should be good to go. What's nice is that I'm trying out new guys when it comes to promoting (I've never once promoted Bartre and I usually don't promote Fiora, Wil and Canas) which should give me a sense of what they can do and what they can't.

I pretty much raped the Tactics and Exp requirements for FFO. The only things left standing were 2 Wyverns that had just spawned over the lake and 3 Pirates on the lake. Everything else was absolutely destroyed.

Bartre with the Brave Axe was so clutch as he quad hit a pirate (actually hit 1/4 times but the point is that he was doubling). Wil just rode Ballistas the entire time and other people (Canas, Kent) were vital to destroying the horde. Oh and Guy spent about 5 turns at the arena with 2 refreshes from Ninian. Oh and Canas got the Afa's Drops for this run.

Chapter 25 - Crazed Beast

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Bartre, Guy, Erk, Priscilla, Kent, Florina, Wil, Canas, Fiora, Ninian, Hawkeye

Notes: A lot easier than I thought it would be. Guy and Eliwood took the west, the peg sisters went east and everyone else headed north. Wil took the Ballista and cleared out the pegs and archers across the ocean. Snagged Pascal's fort on turn 4 with Hawkeye, the Bishop's on Turn 5 with Fiora and Guy grabbed the Warrior's on Turn 6.

Fun fact. Hector doubled Pascal with the Wolf Beil and left him with like 2 HP (23x2 damage). I love Hector. Oh and Bartre managed to promote which was cool except that he's mediocre. Kent's sitting at 20/0, Wil, Canas and Fiora are all a stone's throw away from 20/0 and everyone else is doing great.

Now I'm having problems with the next chapter. Not because it's hard but because it pisses me off. I want to get to the armoury in order to buy a Killer Lance and Killing Edge. However, IS decided to fuck us over and put Vaida pretty much in front of it. What do I do to get to it?

Land Hawkeye on a Peak. Even base level Hawkeye only gets 3HKOed and doubled by Vaida at about 25 displayed hit. Give him an Elixir as well and he can tank her forever.

IS decided to cheat with that epic hax spear; so I say that one-up them and mine-glitch it off of her. Make her either discard it, or fly over to make a deposit in the Bank of Merlinus. Take that, crazy bitch.

There is a foolproof way that involves all 4 fliers (I think 1 or 2 of them need to be promoted). I forgot exactly what you need - I think you need a flier to start just outside of Vaida's range, visit the armory, canto back as far as possible, and have another flier start just outside of Vaida's range and rescue the first flier. Second flier cantos back as far as possible. Third flier takes first flier and cantos back; fourth flier rescues second flier and cantos back.

If you don't have Farina, you need to have a unit that can move onto the solitary looking peak tile on the right side of the map. Hawkeye can do this, but this is also just on the edge of Vaida's range. If you do this on the last turn, you'll minimize the risk to your units. I can maybe make a video if you'd like, assuming I have a save.

I can't remember the exact layout, but surely Hawkeye can be placed so that he distracts Vaida far away enough? If not, Hawkeye may be able to survive one turn against her.

Chapter 26 - Unfulfilled Heart

Team: Hector, Eliwood, Serra, Guy, Priscilla, Lyn, Kent, Wil, Canas, Fiora, Legault, Ninian, Heath, Hawkeye, Geitz, Pent (Turn 1), Louise (Turn 1)

Notes: Let's start with the big thing. Vaida is dead. First time I've ever killed her (mostly because I've never tried) and I might regret it because of the Spear that she comes with. Oh well. Shit happens. Hawkeye + Devil Axe = Awesomesauce.

Hawkeye basically mountain-hopped. Heath dropped him off just outside of Vaida's range and Hawkeye used the peaks to move closer to the Armoury. Vaida managed to hit him twice in about 9 turns (she doubled him too).

Pretty much everyone promoted this chapter with the exception of Guy (wasn't holding a Hero Crest), Eliwood (level 19) and Serra (level 17 but I might promote her before 27 starts). That's Kent, Fiora, Wil and Canas I'm talking about.
