Step 1: Download ROM

Step 2: Download Nightmare

Step 3: Download character module

Step 4: Open Character Module in Nightmare

Step 5: load ROM

Step 6: Scroll to the bottom where it says character attribute 1, character attribute 2, etc.

Step 7: Open drop-down box

Step 8: One of them (I think CA4) has a hex number labeled "last item droppable". Find it.

Step 9: Select

Step 10: Save ROM

Step 11: Test.

I didn't fix the FE 8 modules. They're still using that shitty old edit-the-whole-byte system.

A reskin is what you did for your FE8 hack.

It basically changes very little aside from growths, items, bases, etc. There are very few script changes, no custom events, no new maps...

So yeah.

Custom Classes:

Nightmare + FEditor_Adv are your friends

Custom Animations:

Make your own, then use FEditor_Adv. Alternately, you could import them using FEditor_Adv

well in my hack, mercenary promotes to warrior, and when they promote, the warrior gains the ability to use swords. namely my mercenary gerick. how do i make it that when he promotes, he can use only axes?

1. is there any way to import FE7 character animations into FE8? and also the sprites?

2. and how do you recolor sprites?

I can't answer the first due to inability to hack, but recoloring sprites is easy if you get Usenti, then just change the color values to what you want.

Are you using Nightmare? If you are, then I can only help with the weapon levels.

1. Open Nightmare, your ROM file, and the FE8 Class Editor Module

2. Find Warrior (0x40). It should be right around Trainee Mage/Soldier (1) and the Berserker.

3. Scroll down until you find the Weapon Levels section (beneath Abilities). Change Axe and Bow to equal 0, and Swords to equal whatever level you want it to.

4. Hit Enter and Save.

I'm not sure if you've edited your promotions already, because I haven't gotten around to playing with those yet.

it already has the bow and swords at 0 but when gerick promotes he can still use his swords. idk why.
