My great-grandparents are from Germany, and the rest of my family is a mystery. Supposedly my family is related to vikings. Haha. On a serious note, I think I'm English, Welsh, and German. In a general sense, I particularly enjoy curry, scallops, sushi, and lamb. My experience with drinks is much narrower with my favorite being apple juice. Interests: My interests include anime, manga, video games (specifically tactical games and visual novels), philology (as the study and understanding of languages, aside from linguistics), and a few other things mentioned in my profile. Orientation: Background: Religious View: Favorite Color: Favorite TV Shows: I watch a limited assortment of anime, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. Favorite Books: I have most enjoyed the novels Red Mars, Dune, The Catcher in the Rye, Three Kingdoms, and Chasm City. I own many worthy nonfiction books as well but nothing that I would classify as a favorite. Favorite Movie: Favorite Quotes: I feel compelled to second Hikarusa's choice of, "Moldy onions!" as a favorite quote. That and, "Ike, hero of Crimea, leader of the Greil Mercenaries, and father of Sothe's children," have proven... memorable.... Political Views: I have no political affiliations. Because I am a permanent resident, and thus cannot vote, I have not kept as well informed of current political happenings as would probably be in my best interest. Relationship Status: Dislike: Your Hero or Heroes: I admire many fictional characters but I would consider Paul Atreides of Frank Herbert's Dune and two characters from Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy: Nadia Chernyshevski and Saxifrage Russell to be the most fun and worthwhile characters to look up to. As for real people, I have found Alexander Arguelles to be a fantastic academic inspiration. I do not subscribe to some facets of his perspective on life and education as a whole, but that doesn't detract from his being an admirable and worthy role model.
