I've played all of the North American Fire Emblem games as well as FE6. Ehhh, I hated the con-based AS system the GBA games used, since it didn't really make much sense and it meant enemies frequently weighed themselves down (pegasus knights and mages in particular had it bad; case in point, Lyon).
