He's a soldier with bases worse than soldier's standard bases. His growths also suck, but don't tell anyone, everyone will still love him because he starts out weak and pretend that he ends up way better than everyone else. Treck, Noah's less good looking, less intelligent, lower joining level partner. Make Noah another Ilian Merc, Treck a soldier, and Zealot a Halbardier. Treck will remain a cavalier. Making Noah a soldier would make no sense since he's the only cavalier who specializes in swords, but Treck would be a good idea, what was he used as a cavalier anyway? Yes. I always use Treck. In fact, he's my favourite character in the game. And I don't really think he needs a massive nerf, just for the sake of having a soldier.
