Ncknck
Thinking of employing Volke or not due to space constraints there. I have read about certain techniques but not sure if they will work on that map boss so..?
Anacybele
I believe the Steal skill is an RD exclusive, so unless the Full Guard is blinking in green on the boss's status screen (meaning he will drop it when you defeat him), you can't get it. No, it's in PoR too.
Primefusion
IIRC the boss has the full guard equipped which means you cannot steal it. I hardly ever post outside of ROM hacking and sprites lol
Anacybele
No, it's in PoR too. Are you sure? I don't remember it being in any of the thieves' skill lists. Then again, I hardly use thieves for anything but opening chests, so I don't know much about them.
Caliban of Sycorax
Thieves can steal in PoR. I believe the same mechanics apply.

Stealing is present in FEs 5-10, albiet it's more limited in the GBA games than it is in FE's 5, 9, and 10. The mechanics have been tweaked, but it always involves Speed. Since we're talking about FE9, Strength and item weight are factors. The item can't be equipped (read: active) either. Hash Jar
If you sleep him (if there is a sleep before then) does it un-equip?
Roosterofdoom
I remember there being a particular item that couldn't normally be stolen because it was equipped, but you could make the person unequip it somehow and swipe it next turn. But I might be thinking of something else...
Caliban of Sycorax
Rexaura can be stolen in that manner. You have to Silence the Bishop, make him use his Elixir, then swipe it.
Ncknck
Didnt work out, i heard drinking elixirs would cause him to unequip, didnt happen and he took it with him to the afterlife apparently. For some reason i also was unable for Jill to have that special scene, not trying to spoil anything, but i tried pretty much everything and she remained steady. Sleep stave not yet available. Ofc thieves can steal in PoR :D, it totally rules, Volke got 2 chars worth of stuff from this chapter, longbows physics stave and some general junk. So far he hasnt come emptyhanded from any chapter. He truly loves stealing things. There was a stealable Blizzard on that chapter btw, but i didnt bother as Volke's stealing queue was more than full. Rexaura can be stolen in that manner. You have to Silence the Bishop, make him use his Elixir, then swipe it. hmm very interesting. Silence first?, gonna try it. Icon of Sin
There was a stealable Blizzard on that chapter btw, but i didnt bother as Volke's stealing queue was more than full. There should be a few more to steal later, and one that drops in chapter 24 I think.
Loki Laufeyson
Im pretty sure Volke can still steal after he promotes too.
Ncknck
eh there is a bit of a problem, i cant land the thing. Mist has 26 magic is one tile away and he has 13 resistance. Wiki says landrate is 70%. More like 0.7%..
Dr. Silent
Im pretty sure Volke can still steal after he promotes too. He does, thankfully. Most of the Physic staves that need to be stolen are after he promotes.
Ncknck
well i couldnt silence him, either he is immune or there is some part of the puzzle missing. Mist outclasses him in every stat but strength skill and def. lvl11 vs lvl10. Im sad.
Komeiji Koishi
You're getting RNG screwed. Either that, or the dude is a boss enemy. You can't shut up staff silence or make him go to sleep. Bosses can force themselves to talk/stay awake, apparantly.
VGE
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get Full Guard off of Shiharam, unless you use him on the Trial Maps.
Snowy_One
Technically, yes. You can steal it IF he unequips it. However, getting him to unequip it is, as far as I know, impossible. Therefore you will not get it.
SgtSmilies
Therefore it's impossible, therefore technically no.
Snowy_One
Not of necessity. Maybe there is some way to get him to unequip it that simply isn't known, be it some unique strategy or altering the game code (though if you're doing that, why not just give yourself a bunch of FG's?). That's why I say it 'technically' can be stolen. For all I know it could very well be possible to get him to unequip it, just not discovered yet. Ncknck
Yeah it is definitely not impossible to steal it. For fun, I forced him into my party, unequipped the fullguard, then released control and and let Volke loose. But yeah, thats cheating. Then again, characters unequipping items if silenced it a not a clean strategy too, why would a muted person strip off his clothing and items. That's how you (theoretically) get Rexaura, I've never done it though. As to the logic behind it... it's got me stumped.
